Aubers, Hiding's suggestion of the hospital does sound a good one. I know you know this but you can't do a month without any help. Sad

LoveInAColdChamberOfSecrets · 29/07/2011 13:06

Aubers, as others have suggested, going back to the hospital seems wise. There are probably different anti-emetics they could try with you which might help?

allhailtheaubergine · 29/07/2011 13:43

Thanks chaps. Sympathy much appreciated.

I was going to contact a midwife who has been recommended to me this week. Might be an idea to see a doc instead / as well.

Biscuitsandtea · 29/07/2011 13:51

If I were you Aubers I would see as many people as could possibly be convinced to see me since you will be away after a week (that sentence doesn't make sense but hopefully you get my drift) Smile

CalypsoFramboise · 29/07/2011 14:34

Afternoon,

Here we might due about the same time - 22nd March? And also have 21/nearly 22 month DD. Have been semi-laughing/horrified at the potty training a toddler with a newborn thread...

Having scan in 3 weeks (at 9wks), would love one RIGHT NOW, as I'm still completely pg symptom-free, but have a deadline day before scan and can't cope with bad news and getting stuff done beforehand.

purplebuns delighted to hear of lovely scan result!

Looking forward to hearing about all other scans

Aubers bummer the drugs aren't helping, I hope you don't end up as unwell as previously x

welcome biscuit :)

mememummy · 29/07/2011 15:09

I have my second scan monday to see how mybean/beans are doing dont fit in any clothes and keep dreaming ther are no heartbeats/heartbeat so scared was never like this with dd also sickness isnt to bad atm BUT I have horrendous backache I mean horrendous!

Aubers back to hospital! sending u love and cyclazine xxx

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 29/07/2011 15:34

Well, I think that's decided. Get thee to a hospital aubers. Mumsnet orders :)

I had my scan and saw my little bean complete with beating heart. We even heard it's little heart making a right racket. So everything is in the right place, at the right time and doing all the right things. Phew! What a relief! :o

meme I hope your scan goes well on monday. I went to put my trousers on this morning and could barely do them up and I just can't cope with anything tight around my waist at the moment. Anyway, I just happened to be passing a baby shop on my way back from the scan and noticed they had a sale on and some lovely jeans in the window super cheap so at only 7 weeks I have just bought my first item of maternity wear Blush They are amazingly comfy though and you wouldn't know they were maternity to look at them, they just have stretchy bits in the pockets.

Me and dh had an argument he has stormed off and left me at mums with no keys and no car and no money good times Sad

Biscuitsandtea · 29/07/2011 15:50

Hiding fantastic news about your scan! Good job Mrs! Remind me if that was private or NHS?

I feel a bit sick. Dragging my arse trolley round the supermarket and just feel like I must look awful. Not strictly MS as I remember it but feel a touch queasy and oh so tired - do you think they would mind if I lay down in the aisle?

NB obv sickness not in the same universe as poor Aubers. I hope Aubers is not reading this because she is at this moment being checked out by a handsome qualified medical professional.

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 29/07/2011 16:09

Oh meme! Shock At least you are at your mums. Stay there and have tea and biscuits until he returns looking suitably contrite

OP posts:
allhailtheaubergine · 30/07/2011 07:08

How are you doing Meme? Hope all is resolved now.

LoveInAColdChamberOfSecrets · 30/07/2011 07:18

Hope you're ok, meme?

Fab news re scan, Hiding!

allhailtheaubergine · 30/07/2011 10:47

Am just back from my scan.

Am delighted to report 1X happy little bean waving at the camera. Strong heartbeat. Good measurements. All fine.

Well, apparently I have a low lying placenta and I have to see the gynae about that and probably take some pills to prevent bleeding. But I'm not bleeding. It's so hard to know when to take their advice and when not to - today I was told that I shouldn't travel with a low lying placenta, and if I must then I should be sure to take drugs throughout my trip. Am pretty sure that the NHS would say "eh, it's probably fine - give us a shout if you do have any bleeding and we'll fix things then".

Biscuitsandtea · 30/07/2011 10:57

Yay Aubers that's great!! SmileSmile

Did they say anything about sickness or was it just a scan? How are you feeling that way today? x

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 30/07/2011 11:04

Good new on the scan Aubers!

Boo to low lying placentas!

You could be a bit sneaky and trying asking NHS Direct about travelling with low lying placenta using their online form thing. I think you might need to borrow a postcode from someone in the UK and it will take a while to get an answer but might be worth a go. Of course they might just come back and tell you to speak to your gp... anyway, here is a link to the form if you do want to give it a go www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/CheckSymptoms/HealthEnquiry.aspx

Or you could try the impressive wisdom of mumsnet and ask on the pregnancy threads :)

Well, I have just been uber sensible for once and phoned a midwife who was recommended to me. I am going to meet her in an hour (!) and then I can discuss ALL these ins and outs with an actual medical professional who can advise and refer as necessary.

pommedechocolat · 30/07/2011 12:10

4 for 4 on the scans. Bean measuring 8 plus 5 which means I am 4 days further on than I thought - result. Heartbeat good. All good. Hopefully I will stop worrying now.

I was also informed that I have an impressive amount of bowel gas. I have been incredibly farty and haven't poohed for days now so hardly a surprise. Bit grim to have it pointed out on a screen though!!

Hope midwife is of some help aubers for both sickness and placenta.

pommedechocolat · 30/07/2011 12:21

Sorry - less mememe now. Good news hiding and meme - how you doing? Hope dh came back with flowers and foodstuffs of your craving.

Talking if cravings let's do a poll - what are we all craving? Cheddar cheese and milk here.

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 30/07/2011 13:20

Well done Aubers ! I am sure the midwife will be able to answer all your questions :)

And congratulations pomme! Gosh, we are doing well aren't we. :o

I am not so much having issues with cravings but more with the things I can't eat. In fact the worst thing is trying to find something I want to drink. I am thirsty all the time but everything tastes horrid. Fizzy drinks are out as they give me really horrid stomach pains, coffee is a massive no, tea is ok in the morning but not for the rest of the day, and even tap water suddenly tastes revolting. At the moment I am on mineral water with slices of lemon and lime and lots of ice. I have also got some really fruity tea in the hope that it might be nice.

Hiya all!

Aubers good to hear you're scan was fine and you're seeing the midwife, was she any help with the vomming? Pomme great news on the scan too - and congrats to everyone else on the thread with good news, I'm afraid baby brain means I'm unable to remember anything else!

Oh - Calypso our dates are really close, think I'm due 25 March and DD's birthday is 15th October. Yep, I have friends who've done the newborn plus potty train challenge - sounds like fun Hmm

Re: scans, I've got one booked for a week Monday, I'll be 7+5. I think I'm worrying much more this time too Meme, keep thinking it might be a mmc Sad, just trying to keep on top of the anxiety. I think I might be getting a bit of nausea and dizzyness-type symptoms so hopefully it's a good sign. No cravings yet though.

Purplebuns · 30/07/2011 13:37

Great that we all have healthy beans!
I loved hearing the heart beat, surprised that I could and this baby is from my right ovary, very interesting, mine was private and there was such a difference between that scan and an NHS one!
Pomme a lovely surprise to be even further than you thought.
Aubs it is surely a good sigh that you haven't had any bleeding yet?
I haven't really had any cravings, when I am having a sick day I can only eat bread and butter or some variant of. To begin with I was craving fatty things like pork pies and chocolate, yuck. And now 6lb heavier I am enjoying pickled eggs quite a lot.
Hiding sometimes rose's Lime cordial is all I can drink, maybe you can try that?
Meme I hope things are better your end? Look forward to hearing about your scan on Monday.

How about we do some stats? Maybe on a separate thread?
I hope we are all having a lovely weekend :)

allhailtheaubergine · 30/07/2011 14:00

Hiding I consider myself something of an expert on the whole "what the chuffing flip can I drink?" conundrum. I have had a couple of days where the only liquid I have been able to swallow and keep down for more than 6 minutes has been the juice of tinned fruit. Not fruit juice, oh no, that would be too easy, but crack open a tip of prunes in pineapple juice and stick a straw in it and I'm your gal Hmm.

Another temporary fix has been fizzy water that has gone flat. I know, I know, but it doesn't taste of water somehow.

Have you tried elderflower cordial? I can't say I enjoy it at all but it very rarely voms up again. Also lime cordial.

Have you tried fresh orange juice half and half with water? I could drink that last time I was pg.

I can also occasionally drink fizzy pop gone flat - especially cheap ginger beer (not good stuff with real ginger in) and appletizer.

allhailtheaubergine · 30/07/2011 14:03

Oh, and, another tip: try drinking through a straw. Sometimes helps.

allhailtheaubergine · 30/07/2011 14:04

Also, roffle @ Pomme's impressive amount of bowel gas Grin!

Biscuitsandtea · 30/07/2011 15:57

Afternoon ladies - just a quick one to say how chuffedy chuffed I am with all the positive scan work you ladies have been doing today. Smile

Still not much to report here - am thinking the mentalling about no symptoms might start soon. Am starting operation 'convince DH to let me have a private scan' imminently.
