In a moment bravery here is the anti-natal thread for all those continuing to Brook No Argument into pregnancy and beyond.

So raise your fists to the sky and sing loud for there is no turning back now! We shall all stand firm and prevail with joy in our hearts as all our pregnancies will be simply blooming perfect!

Hurrah! and more Hurrah! :o

Hahaha, yes, the timing couldn't be worse, here. I had acupuncture for my inability to get updiffed, which seemed to work, although I have to say I didn't actually find it very relaxing! Might work for you, though. The Natal Hypnotherapy pack of 4 CDs has a CD of pregnancy relaxation which I have been listening to which you could try?

Pommed - nowhere near Hampshire, sadly - they all seem more expensive around here. DH thinks we should just wait for 12 week scan but I want one NOW! I think it's different for him because he doesn't spend all day googling miscarriage statistics .

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 28/07/2011 10:17

Morning all! I am ok with my cup of tea in the morning but then wild horses couldn't stop me having that, however, the smell of dp's coffee made me gag.

Love, I also dreamt last night that we went for the scan on friday and there were twins. Told dp this morning and he wasn't impressed :o

ooo..pomme I am in Hampshire, my scan is costing almost double that Shock but I figured it was worth the money to stop me turning into a gibbering wreck and ruining my holiday.

I'm starting to find sleeping uncomfortable already. Mostly sore boobs but also that weird feeling that my insides are being moved about, most disconcerting. I really thought it would be a bit later before I stopped being able to sleep on my front but clearly I am just to darn buxom for my own good.

Oh fellow Rat Smacker Graduates, just how minging would it be to go and sleep on the floor of the disabled loo at work? Soooo tired....

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 28/07/2011 16:10

What you need Love is one of those picnic blankets with the plastic bottoms that fold up all small to lie on, plus maybe a blow up pillow and a nice shawl to wrap yourself up in, then the disabled loo will be a palace of comfort with ensuite facilities :o

Oh you poor love. Could you curl up under your desk?

LoveInAColdChamberOfSecrets · 28/07/2011 18:46

Phew, made it through the afternoon without recourse to the floor! Sadly open plan so think would raise a few eyebrows if I fell asleep under my desk, tempting though it has been. Very early night tonight and clean sheets, yay.

How's everyone else? Are you still coping without the drugs, Aubers?

Purplebuns · 28/07/2011 23:03

Hello, everyone, had my scan today and it was so worth the ££s! One healthy little bean 7+4 old so happy and I am not such a stress ball, I would definitely recommend it. I will post a less self centred post tomorrow when I am not so shattered.

LoveInAColdChamberOfSecrets · 29/07/2011 07:01

Oh, that's lovely news, Purple. I think I may also book a scan. So pleased for you!

Biscuitsandtea · 29/07/2011 07:12

Space for a newbie?

I have got a BFP every day this week (not that I needed any convincing!) that would make me just over 5 weeks along. Kind of early days and probably don't need to take the seat nearest to the toilet as yet but thought I might pole my head through if that's ok?

Good news on your scan Purple. How far along are you? I can't decide whether I want an early scan or not (and wouldn't know where to get one anyway Hmm)

Anyway hope you're all ok

LoveInAColdChamberOfSecrets · 29/07/2011 07:18

Hello Biscuits! Have been watching your BFP progress on the other thread, welcome and congratulations!

Biscuitsandtea · 29/07/2011 07:23

Thanks Love Smile

Just wondered what sort of stage you lovely ladies are at? x

LoveInAColdChamberOfSecrets · 29/07/2011 07:29

I'm 7 weeks tomorrow, think Hiding is similar, Purple is 7 plus 5, Aubers is 9 and a bit I think, and Pommed is 8. Not sure about anyone else?

Biscuitsandtea · 29/07/2011 07:33

Gosh those lofty numbers seem a world away! I feel like the new girl at school like maybe I'm a first year and you're all sixth formers! (That isn't meant in terms of age - just pg dates Grin)

LoveInAColdChamberOfSecrets · 29/07/2011 07:51

Hahaha, but we were all five weeks too a few weeks ago! I think Here is about six and a half, BTW.

Anyone else not actually being sick but still losing weight? I have only lost a pound but my weight is normally totally stable and I have been eating anything that stays still long enough. What has happened to my metabolism!?

pommedechocolat · 29/07/2011 07:59

Love I'm so jealous! Maybe you're just nibbling and not really eating as much as you think? I am a hippo already.

This bit of pg passes so slowly doesn't it? I seem to remember it starts to go a little quicker past 15 weeks or so but the first few months - urgh!

8 weeks today and scan tomorrow - hoping for good news like Purple!

LoveInAColdChamberOfSecrets · 29/07/2011 08:03

The thing is, I look like a hippo but it must all be gas as am actually lighter Blush. Is really fricking weird. I can only get into one pair of suit trousers already...

LoveInAColdChamberOfSecrets · 29/07/2011 08:04

Oh, and good luck, Pommed, for scan.

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 29/07/2011 08:59

Morning all!

Great news on the scan Purple! So pleased for you :)

Glad to see you have finally made it through the automatic doors Biscuit. We have been waiting for you

I am 7 weeks today and have my scan at 2pm. I am currently ranging between terrified and excited. Still positive people get perfect scans I am sure :o

Aaarrgghhh!!

Biscuitsandtea · 29/07/2011 09:12

Oooh, good luck Hiding, will have everything crossed for you x

Thanks for the snacks too - I do love marmite too Smile

You should know my iPhone tried to autocorrect marmite to marmots.... I don't like them as much Hmm

How did you all go about booking scans? I can't decide if I want one or not.... Oh, and may I ask how much do they cost? And how far along do you need to be?

Biscuitsandtea · 29/07/2011 09:14

And good luck to Pommed too for tomorrow Smile

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 29/07/2011 09:29

Thanks for the crossed fingers biscuit

If you can't pursuade your local epu to do one for you then you can go private so need to have a google for private clinics/hospitals in your area. Most will do an early viability scan from about 6 weeks but I think 7 or 8 is best if you want to see a heartbeat, I would have prefered to wait till 8 weeks to minimise the chance of there not being a heartbeat just because it is too early, but I am going on holiday this weekend and wanted the scan before then or I would just be stressing for the whole thing. I'm doing mine at a BMI place in Hampshire and it is costing £100 but pomme's is only £60 so it is probably worth shopping around a bit (I just went for the nearest place to where I live because I am lazy).

OP posts:
Biscuitsandtea · 29/07/2011 09:57

And can they get you in quite quickly at private places? I had a mc with my first pg and went to the EPU who said if you're pg again and worried call us directly and we can scan you, but I am sure there was something about if you had the scan early then it was instead of your 12 week scan or whatever. Not sure. Anyway, when I did get pg again my 12 week scan wasn't going to be until I was about 15 weeks which was waaaaay too long so I called epu and they scanned me at 12 weeks instead (which was fine and we have DS now as a result Smile)

I can't make my mind up if I want one or not. I mean I obv want to check there is something there but if the worst happened it isn't like it could change anything Confused

allhailtheaubergine · 29/07/2011 10:35

Great news on the scan Purple! Brilliant.

And welcome welcome welcome to Biscuits!

Good luck for later to Hiding and for tomorrow for Pomme. I've got a scan tomorrow too. Lets have 4 for 4 people. Brook no argument.

Unsurprisingly I am losing weight at an alarming rate. Am now vomming whether on the tablets or not. Struggling to function to be honest. And one week from now I am going to stay with my parents for a month which will mean no dh to take care of the children / do bedtimes / amuse them while I nap. Parents are lovely but not hands on. Here's hoping for an improvement in the week.

Biscuitsandtea · 29/07/2011 10:47

Oh Aubers you poor poor thing!!! Do your parents know you're updiffed? Surely they would have to help out if you're actually being sick?

Is there anything else the doctors could do? (sorry for being behind the curve here as I'm sure everyone else knows the background). Did you see a GP or specialist consultanty type of person to get the meds you have now?

What a horrible thing Sad. Especially with having DC to look after too - no time off!

I apologise because that really isn't a helpful post but I just feel so sorry for you Sad

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 29/07/2011 12:19

Aubers we do all worry about you! Could you go back to the hospital your lovely DH took you to before and let them take a look at you? Just to make sure you and the little one are ok, they might also be able to offer you some differant anti-sickness stuff that will work better.

Do take care of yourself!
