Grr!!! MN just wiped my whole post! Soooooo annoying!

I was just agreeing with Hiding that the most important thing is your personal relationships with the people in your life. The r"right" answer for every family is different. Plus we've ended up choosing someone with no kids of their own anyway (for other reasons) so I'm glad to have some of the benefits of this pointed out to me!

To Deny I was commiserating with the overseas issue, and how the couple we're closest to (DH's cousins) are planning to move to the US in the next few years and that meant we couldn't choose them because our DC would be so far from both our families!

Too I want you to know that I have in no way spent most of the last hour reading 8 cousins instead of revising. Naturally I wouldn't even think of starting the book until after my exams! (It's so good though! Thanks for the new recommendation as well!)

allhailtheaubergine · 02/09/2011 20:29

Blimey this thread moves fast. You lot can't half talk Grin.

Thanks to those who asked, sickness now much, much improved and am off the medication. Vomiting now down to a maximum of 5x a day which is entirely manageable. Some days I barely even throw up once. Bliss! Have just started a thread whining about the other extreme - am getting depressingly fat.

Am back in the real world again now, but will take me a while to catch up with everyone. Must go and see how the rat smackers are doing.

Mwah mwah darlings x

Biscuitsandtea · 02/09/2011 21:16

Glad the vomming has toned down Aubers and welcome back

I am sooooo rock and roll - DH out on a work thing so I am tucked up in bed at 10 past 9 - rubbish effort!

Biscuitsandtea · 03/09/2011 04:38

Oh my goodness - I just need to rant - please excuse me Blush.

DH came rolling in from his work thing at gone 2 o clock (I don't really care that much about it being so late) but managed to wake me up. He was gabbing away about the night out very enthusiastically, properly managed to wake me up and then of course fell asleep and is snoring away. I have now been awake for over 2 hours as a result!!! I've been awake for so long now I'm actually getting hungry Hmm

Why couldn't he have been more considerate quiet when he got in?Sad

The worst bit is that he is going to work both days this weekend so I have to look after ds all on my own again (I kind of like it not all being my responsibility over the weekend)

Oh and he'll be tired and grumpy all weekend too from the late night and then having to work Sad (although I wouldn't mind that as much if that was the only thing)

LoveInAColdClimate · 03/09/2011 07:33

You poor thing, Biscuits, how annoying!

Purple - fab news re scan!

Proper post later when not on iPhone.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 03/09/2011 08:05

Poor you Biscuits that sounds so frustrating! I hope you managed to get back to sleep in the end, and you're not too tired now? Sleep is just sooooooooooooo precious and it's incredibly frustrating when someone wakes you up and then you're left awake while they sleep! I hope your DH apologies this morning!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 03/09/2011 08:06

'Apologises' even!

DenyEverything · 03/09/2011 10:55

biscuits that is proper rubbish. Can you get a nap in when DS does?

Hello aubers, lovely to have you back.

It's our wedding anniversary so we're going for a meal tonight. Is it bad that I've been salivating over the menu online already and will be speedily reciting my choices as soon as I sit down to ensure immediate delivery of three course meal Blush

Deny enjoy your meal tonight :)

Biscuitsandtea · 03/09/2011 13:49

Thank you for your sympathy ladies (and apologies for the grumpiness of my post - but in my defence it was half past four in the morning Blush).

I am indeed hoping to sneak a little nap in while DS does (thank goodness I think he is going to have a nap today!) DH knows he's not off the hook over this one and in no way did I run the hot water while he was having his shower mwah ha ha.

Deny hope you enjoy your yummy meal this evening! It is our WA next weekend and DH is under very strict instructions (especially after last night) that he is to organise something NICE. DS will be at the in laws so he is to book something nice. If I knew where we were going I can assure you I'd already be checking out the menu Smile

scarletfingernail · 03/09/2011 14:21

Grin Deny. I hope the meal proves to be a delicious as you're hoping it to. I'm going out for a meal in 3 weeks time and have already been online, checked out the menu and made my choice Blush

Biscuits you have my sympathy. I too would be furious. When pregnant I seem to suffer from a weird kind of insomnia. I fall asleep fine, but when I wake up to pee 3 hours later I can never get back to sleep and lay awake quite often until about 5 am when I'm only going to then get another hour or so. Very annoying.

Biscuitsandtea · 03/09/2011 14:24

Yes Scarlet that is exactly what it was last night. As soon as he woke me up I needed to pee and then that was it!

Am very envious of Deny's meal now. DH had seriously better book something. If we end up at the Pitcher and Piano or somewhere I'll be Angry

DenyEverything · 03/09/2011 15:39

Laughing out loud at the toothbrush/soap idea meconium!

scarlet I have exactly the same problem - 4 pees last night and I struggle to get back to sleep after every one. Last night I was worrying about who will pick the kids up from school when I'm at work - one isn't even 2 and the other isn't born. Ridiculous.

Seriously excited about meal tonight but to be honest biscuits, the rubbish I'm eating at the moment (and the rate I'm eating it), it'll be wasted on me. I'll end up needing chips on the way home.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 03/09/2011 20:58

Deny, hope your meal is yummy, and if you have to get chips, then so be it. If that's what the baby wants, then that's what the baby has to have! Grin That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Scream, that is why I am hopeless at revision! Or studying at all, in fact - anything else is more interesting! Hope you have managed to get some work done as well as finishing Eight Cousins!.

Have been to the cinema (Inbetweeners movie) and Pizza Hut today, both DH's choice. Both good in a non-classy sort of way - I enjoyed them, but have total craving for sushi, which I will have to ignore for the next 6.75 months! Grr. I am fairly sure that a big part of the sushi craving is the fact that I can't have it. Why must I be so contrary?

Biscuits, hope you get some sleep! I hate being disturbed in the night. I fell asleep while DH was still playing computer games last night and then he managed to wake me up when he turned the light off by wriggling frantically to get himself comfy. I got up in a huff and flounced off to pee. Grin Mind you, I slept through the dog squeaking to be let out at 8.30, which is not like me, and DH heard him, which is almost completely unheard of as DH sleeps like a log and never hears any nocturnal whimperings. I feel this is a bad sign for night-time nappy changing!

mememummy · 03/09/2011 21:01

hiya all i have been on holibobs for 2 whole weeks would love to say it was fab but spent 2 weeks vomiting anti sick pill doing nothing i cant keep any form of food down at all got my scan tues and a nice lil bump growning i thin its a boy its all at the front soooo different from dd1

much love and kisses

meme

Biscuitsandtea · 03/09/2011 21:14

Welcome back Meme, but sorry to hear about the vomming Sad. Hope you enjoyed some of your holiday?

God I miss the days of sleeping in until 8:30am - but I know what you mean about DH sleeping through night time noises! (by which I mean my DH is bad at it too, not that I have any knowledge of your DH! Confused). It is less effort to get up and deal with DS myself rather than trying to budge DH!

I have to say though he was really good when ds was newly born - when I was feeding at night DH would still get up to change nappies before I had to get up to feed - which was sweet of him!

Biscuitsandtea · 03/09/2011 21:15

Sorry - got my posts confused - that post responded to Meme and Too Blush

jaggythistle · 04/09/2011 01:12

I'm awake now, not because my DH is snoring.

jaggythistle · 04/09/2011 01:22

but because my FIL is. OMG how the hell does MIL sleep through this??

it's proper sawing logs stuff and it feels like it's vibrating through the freakin wall.

been to the work big do, was nice but probably you have enjoyed it more if i wasn't the only sober one in the room! DH has gone straight to sleep full of free wine...

DS is asleep fine in the travel cot, couldn't resist checking before bed.

sorry I've just come on and moaned! will catch up better tomorrow.

ooh, a break in the snoring... I'll not complain half as much about DH after this!

Biscuitsandtea · 04/09/2011 08:13

Oh Jaggy you poor thing. I had similar when we went camping with my parents - Gah!

Hope you got some sleep in the end

DenyEverything · 04/09/2011 09:38

too I've been craving sushi too- even tried the pret veggie stuff but it's not the same. Glad you enjoyed the film- I love the TV show but DH and I haven't been to the cinema since DS was born - think I'd fall asleep in a darkened warm room for that long at the moment.

jaggy glad the work do went ok. Shame about FIL snoring. The least you deserve is a good night's sleep after being the only sober one! I've already done one sober wedding this year and have another in Nov. Boy, those are LONG days without a single drink!

Had lovely meal last night- 3 courses and was reasonably cheap as I was on lime and soda! The babysitter was watching Celeb BB (this must be what the yoof are into) so we watched 5 minutes of it. Watching Kerry Katona made me think I'll never drink again!

meme nice to see you! Really sorry you felt rough on your holiday.

MeconiumHappens · 04/09/2011 10:33

Im watching celeb bb, which makes me part of the yoof high five

jaggythistle · 04/09/2011 10:42

morning. :)

got some sleep thanks(hair stroking definitely helped), he was still snoring when i got up for my 6am wee though! and also when we got up with DS at about 7.30.

DS was a v good boy for his gps, fell asleep on Gran's knee apparently and slept all night. was shouting Granny as well as mummy this morning which was cute. also requested that Grandad visit him while he had a bath so he could demonstrate his 'swimming' (aka lying on his tummy).

off to the beach for a walk soon. is dream back from her holidays yet? will keep an eye out for her just in case i see someone with a baby attached to their finger!

DenyEverything · 04/09/2011 13:28

meconium, respect. I will rely on you to keep me in touch with what the kids are into these days Grin

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 04/09/2011 18:22

Can somebody stroke my hair, please? Am feeling all sick and sorry for myself. Now, it is nowhere near as bad as Meme, as have not actually been sick, but generally feel pukey and headachey and have v upset tummy. Envy (sick face not jealous face!)
