Also, Purple wehave a Tripp trapp and love it. No baby set or harness on it now but ds uses it instead of a booster seat. It's been great. Only thing I guess was for about the first mth of weaning it wasn't overly supportive so he used to slump over a bit to the side but he was also quite late learning to sit up, so although we weaned at 6 mths he wasn't v good at sitting by that point (gosh, seems like a lifetime ago!)

I thought it was a really pricey option until I looked at how expensive the chicco types were and all of a sudden it didn't seem so bad!

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 29/08/2011 16:09

I was very bloated pretty much from the start, I found it was most noticeable for me in the afternoons when my belly kind of swells up and gets really hard. I'm pretty sure it is basically crumpets water and air. Now I am 11+3 weeks and am definitely looking pregnant. I looked in the mirror yesterday and almost screamed my belly is huge! Thank heavens it's only a week now until my scan and I can tell people, I am relying on everyone just being too polite to mention it until then :o

Hiding - I am so glad someone else is looking pregnant too already. I can just about hide it now if I choose a top carefully but wrong top and you'd get funny looks! My scan is almost 3 weeks away (2 weeks on Friday) and I am sure they might think I'm there for the 20 week scan Shock!

Biscuitsandtea · 29/08/2011 16:48

In fact, have you seen the advert on the right hand side of the MN page for Persil where there is a pg lady in a blue top talking about getting something or other ready for the baby (presumably about doing washing if it is an avert for Persil... Hmm). Well she says she has 3 weeks to go and I must look nearly as pregnant as her! Blimey I had DS when I had '3 weeks to go' and they would have needed the other lady in the interview to have been in the next door room and a wide angle lens to fit me in.....

Biscuitsandtea · 29/08/2011 16:56

So Beyonce is pregnant too - since we are all living in internet anonymity, I feel obliged to ask if any of you are, in fact, Beyonce?

I mean it would make total sense - far too obvious to go on an American site as you'd get busted for sure......

I know exactly how to tell and I shall be keeping an eye out for anyone who doesn't partake in the baked goodies....

pommedechocolat · 29/08/2011 17:02

I am not beyonce but am trying to find out how far along she is. She will of course snap back into shape straight away and I do not want that for a due date twin!!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 29/08/2011 17:19

Blush okay - busted. I'M Beyonce! I wanted to tell you all the truth but it was just never the right moment...

Grin

p.s. Thank you for all the comforting comments re bloating. Seeing as my stomach is big enough to pass for about 10 weeks already I shall be relieved when the real baby bump kicks in!

scarletfingernail · 29/08/2011 18:58

Grin Biscuits are you double bluffing? I'm guessing that you are really Beyonce and you're now worried that you will be busted. Right?

Biscuitsandtea · 29/08/2011 19:02

Ermmm... Blush I couldn't possibly comment..... Ermmm Blush

And I have in no way been to the VMA music awards.... ermmm

No, seriously, I do often get mistaken for Beyonce when I'm out but it's just my amazing figure [ahem] and outrageous dress sense [ahem ahem]. I often go out wearing a dress very similar to her in that 'Crazy in love video'. And at the pool I often like to do the Single Ladies dance while wearing my swimming costume.....

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 29/08/2011 19:02

No, I'm Beyonce!

Beyonce must be further along than anyone here - she seems to have quite a bump. Mind you, I have that amount of bump on a normal, non-pregnant day, so perhaps not! Still, she surely wouldn't be announcing it before at least 12 weeks?

I also feel like I'm already looking pregnant, but perhaps that's because I'm still a stone and a half overweight from the first time around, and I only went back to work 2 weeks ago and am suddenly having to wear all my pre-pregnancy work clothes again and they definitely don't look the same!

jaggythistle · 29/08/2011 19:36

yay! I'm a bloater too and I feel much better. My work trousers are distinclty tight today....

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 29/08/2011 19:46

I'm beyonce ... and so is my wife! :o

OP posts:
MeconiumHappens · 29/08/2011 21:15

Would the real beyonce please stand up.....

jaggythistle · 29/08/2011 22:45

I'm not beyonce. still bloaty though. really hope i don't bloat too much for my dress on Saturday!

LoveInAColdClimate · 30/08/2011 09:25

I am going to level with you all and confess that I am not in fact Beyonce. I am, however, fricking huge. Someone at work on Friday said congratulations, and when I looked horrified and asked for what, she pointed at my tummy and said "we've all guessed." I had no idea what to say but was quite Hmm about her saying it as I (a) havent told most people and so clearly don't want to and (b) might have just been fat. I am 11+3. Thankfully I have another scan on Thursday so can tell people then. So glad others are whaling as well... Is is anyone else on DC1 and huge as well? I am normally quite slim so wonder if it's related or if I am creating an Olympic pool sized collection of amniotic fluid for my plum sized baby?

jaggythistle · 30/08/2011 09:32

That's a bit cheeky Love! I'd never 'guess' that someone was pg. Shock

I'm not even getting my 5am wee in peace now, DS has been up at 4/4.30am the last two days. Yawn.

How's everyone else today?

scarletfingernail · 30/08/2011 09:37

LoveIn I would guess it's because you're normally slim. The first sign of a slender person getting a little larger in the tummy department is usually a giveaway. Very insensitive of your colleague to mention it before you did though. I guessed with a very slim ex-colleague of mine when she was 6 weeks but didn't say a word about it until she told me at 12. I could just tell that her figure had changed, albeit it slightly.

I'm on the tubby side and with DS I didn't show at all until about 18 weeks. I suspect it will be even later with this one. I feel very bloaty though, especially in the evenings.

pommedechocolat · 30/08/2011 10:02

I've had a proper obvious bump for about 2/3 weeks now (am 23 weeks now). I have put on half a stone.

Think I started showing with dd about 16/17 weeks.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 30/08/2011 10:29

I used to be a lot slimmer than I currently am :( and my weight gain is mostly in the form of a little pot belly! Therefore I've looked about 3 months pg for about 6 months now! I'm hoping that this super annoying fact will finally turn to my advantage now, and help me to disguise this pg to beyond 12 weeks! Grin

Scarlet good luck for your appt later, let us know how it goes!

allhailtheaubergine · 30/08/2011 10:30

Hello lovelies! I'm backish. Back in the land of internet, but got family staying for a week so should be busy cooking and entertaining.

I too have a good 6 month bump at an embarrassing 15 weeks. A couple of people have asked me outright why I have such an enormous belly already, and I told them that it is a combination of the fact that this is baby number 3 and my stomach muscles resemble an old string bag, and also that I am a greedy bastard who eats too much Grin.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 30/08/2011 10:39

Hi Aubers

I know I wasn't on this thread when you were here before but I was on the ttc thread and doing a bit of antenatal lurking Blush so I just wanted to check how is the morning sickness going? I hope you're feeling better.

pommedechocolat · 30/08/2011 11:09

23 = 13 weeks. I WISH I was 23 weeks along!

Welcome back Aubers. Good to have you back! To second Scream how is sickness?

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 30/08/2011 11:51

I did have a bit of Shock moment when I saw 23 weeks pomme. :o

Aubers ! Welcome back to the land of the connected :o We have all missed you terribly. Hope the sickness is all over now.

Love I am super Shock that someone would mention it like that before you made it public. Even if they were sure that you had not just been on the pies it is just not done!

I had a bit of a belly to start with but it was under control and though definitly there was not particularly pregnanct looking. Now however it actually looks pregnant rather then just fat, it just sticks out differantly...and futher Blush

I am putting it down to the fact that though I have never managed to go the whole way with a pregnancy this is my third go at the first 3 months so I guess my body just feels bored with this bit and wants to move onto something new. Hence looking about 5 months gone. I am absolutly positive it has nothing to do with the tin of biscuits I have sitting on the table in front of me...oh no, not even a bit

Hi Aubers we've not "met" before Great thread you've started.

Just had my booking in appointment with the mid-wife. I won't bore you all with the details and I've just posted an essay about it on the TTC thread.

The good news is I have an 8 week scan booked for 2 weeks tomorrow so I just need to make sure this bean hangs around and then I'll get to see it flickering away.
