In a moment bravery here is the anti-natal thread for all those continuing to Brook No Argument into pregnancy and beyond.

So raise your fists to the sky and sing loud for there is no turning back now! We shall all stand firm and prevail with joy in our hearts as all our pregnancies will be simply blooming perfect!

Hurrah! and more Hurrah! :o

Deny, I am also tight, and haven't been paid in 3 months now at end of my mat leave, plus DH is scrooge incarnate. i will continue with pregnacare conception!!! Which is pretty much just folic acic and some B vits scarlet, i doubt you're missing out on anything. With DD i puked so much i seriously doubt there was time for any of it to be absorbed anyway from 7 weeks on, and i often just couldn't get it down as i was too nauseous...

I can't see your name deny without remembering what someone once told me with great certainty and seriousness: Never forget the Golden rule of the 3 D's; Deny, Deny, Deny. Grin

Broccoli consumption? Check.

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 20/08/2011 11:11

Welcome dream and scarlet! Great to see some folks moving into the vomitorium from the ttc thread :)

I just carried on taking the conception vits until I finished the packet and then moved onto the proper pregnancy ones as I too am tight saving the pennies.

I have a massive urge for a huge greasy fry-up at the moment and have persuaded dp that we are going to have to go out and buy one for lunch Blush he did say the other day that though he doesn't want to stand in the way of my cravings he is a bit worried that my pregnancy diet is making him fat. He then suggested we go for a quick march up the local hill but I threatened to burst into tears if he made me. I really did used to be quite healthy you know.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 20/08/2011 22:54

Grin at threatening to burst into tears if made to walk! I feel just the same, despite swearing to myself that I was going to keep walking and start swimming this time. I have been swimming once. Blush DH encouraged me into going to Tesco and buying Ben and Jerry's and chocolate this evening - it's all his fault!

Hi, newbies! Hope you soon start to feel at home.

I can't see Deny's name without thinking of the X Files. It is from the X Files, right?

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 20/08/2011 22:55

Do you think you have to use FMU on the baking soda? Grin

pommedechocolat · 21/08/2011 10:59

Or have not pee-ed for 3 hours previous a la OPKs?

dreamfeeder · 21/08/2011 11:28

Oh, definitely FMU on the baking soda pomme Grin

I will give myself an easier time this time- last time I obsessively swam and walked til the day before I had DD, after stopping running at the end of my first trimester. And the only reason I ran was because I felt sick or was sick all the time, and I could throw up, set off running, feel absolutely FINE sickness wise while I ran (though it made me desperate for a wee and a funny pulling feeling in my tummy), stop and be puking again within 15 min- but it was a short respite from the nausea!!!! Which was total bliss. But hiding, it's totally over-rated, I had avocado cravings with DD- my only healthy one, but consumed vats of ice cream, gallons of chocolate ( I read somewhere it has been linked to happy babies- dark choc anyway which spurred me on to daily consumption), and potato fields full of chips Grin. Once I could eat again from about 16 weeks on anyway.

However, as I am on this thread when brave enough to put my head through the door, I will not be puking this time. Not even once. Not even nearly. End of. Brooking No Argument.

Of course, this is what has happened for all of you ladies, right?!?! I know the buckets are just for show Grin

pommedechocolat · 21/08/2011 15:09

I haven't puked yet dream and nausea has been really very low level, just a queasy moment about 4pm most days (and soon solved by tea number 1 :))

Biscuitsandtea · 21/08/2011 15:10

I haven't puked either Dream (but I never puked with DS either just felt nauseous). Am sure I have felt less nauseous this time round though which makes me stress out.

No requirement for buckets really in the Biscuit house.

LoveInAColdClimate · 21/08/2011 16:20

I also just kept taking conception vitamins until I ran out, but have now switched to Boots' own Pregnancy Plus which also have fish oil and are an easier shape to swallow.

My tummy button has started to poke out! At ten weeks! It has always been sort of half in and half out, but this is ludicrous. I am going to be the size of a house...

Biscuitsandtea · 21/08/2011 16:29

I kept using up my conception ones too and have just switched to the pregnacare plus ones with fish oil. I don't mind swallowing tablets though so doesn't matter they are the size of my head!

Love I am sure I have a bump for real now - and I'm not even 9 weeks yet! Still in normal jeans but bump comes out from right under my boobs. Am seriously considering getting the maternity clothes down from the loft to sort through them. Glad I don't have to wear suit trousers this time round as I remember they were a killer last time. Jean belt practically on the last hole.

I understand it is quite common to 'pop' a bit sooner when on your second pg but surely you don't end up any bigger? I was mahooooosive last time - I would need pushing around on a trolley if I got any bigger this time.....

dreamfeeder · 21/08/2011 17:39

My tummy button popped at 20 weeks last time and is definitely an 'Innie', and I hated it being out, it was so sensitive to touch and made me feel squeamish! A bit of low level nausea with the odd puke would actually cheer me up now that everything's going ok- I'm 5 weeks, not many symptoms (very, very mild queasiness sometimes and weeing a lot), and worried!! I don't know why, last time I didn't start puking til nearly 7 weeks. Patience is what I need. And i hope it not too soon to be poking my nose into this thread...

Thanks love, will try the Boots own brand if I can find them. Sure I didn't see any other options when I bought the horse-sized pregnacare conception but will try again.

And that's it. If you two aren't puking, I'm even more determined. There will be no cyclizine this pregnancy Grin but just in case put my name on a glittery vom bucket

hiding, love the thought of that threat- and it would possibly work on my dH as he hates public displays of affection/emotion. He can just about manage to hold my hand. Smile

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 22/08/2011 17:43

My tummy button sort of half popped the last time, it didn't quite come all the way out. So far it is still in. I hated it being touched too!

Have a new, somewhat alarming symptom. I can hear my pelvis grinding when I move. I had SPD the last time near the end - this doesn't hurt, yet, but it is scary! Maybe I should give up on high heels for the duration. Sad

scarletfingernail · 22/08/2011 17:47

Ok, so I've mentioned this on the ttc thread and I've also just been into the freak out room but no one else is there yet.

WTF is going on with my skin? It's only on the left hand side of my lower back going round to my left hand side and it is really sore to touch. In fact I'm certain it is my skin or if it's underneath. It's sooo tender and it's freaking me out as I know that this is not a normal symptom. Has anyone else had this?

I'm mentalling big time today. I called the Drs to check the results of the pee sample I gave them last Weds and they said I've got to bring in another sample tomorrow morning. No explanation. I know I'm upduffed as I've got in the region of 30 pee sticks to prove it. I used the same sample as I gave to them and got a BFP on an internet cheapie, CB and FR (although the internet cheapie was very faint that day)

If I wasn't pg I'd be hitting the Wine tonight.

scarletfingernail · 22/08/2011 17:47

Meant to say "not certain"

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 22/08/2011 18:35

Scarlet, calm down and do not panic! It is bad for the baby! I bet the doctor has either lost your pee sample or else didn't send it to the lab in time - it has to be reasonably fresh pee, I believe.

The skin thing sounds familiar...as if I might have felt it at some point during pregnancy, although I don't remember exactly when. I know that's not very helpful, but I know I have felt it at some point. Now calm down and don't forget to Brook.

LoveInAColdClimate · 22/08/2011 18:50

I had tender skin early on too. It felt rather like shingles but with no rash. Will be fine, try not to worry.

scarletfingernail · 22/08/2011 19:51

Thanks both TooImmature and LoveIn I've never had shingles so can't compare it to anything like that. I also have no rash. I've never heard of anyone mentioning tender skin as a symptom before so was convincing myself it must be bad. If it spreads or gets any worse I'll get it checked out. I'm taking no chances this time.

dreamfeeder · 22/08/2011 20:22

scarlet, i agree, they lost your pee sample or let it get warm and old and fester Smile. EVERYTHING is a pg symptom, it does funny things to your body.

And I am as mental as you and am stressing big time. I was nearly in tears before i did my final pg test this morning as i'd convinced myself it was going to be negative (it very clearly wasn't).

LoveInAColdClimate · 22/08/2011 20:27

Scarlet - it felt a bit like bad sunburn - it was umpleasant to have sheets or clothes touch it. Is that like yours?

dreamfeeder · 22/08/2011 21:05

yeah shingles is grimbo. super sensitive, want to hold clothes/bed clothes off it, etc. Not that I have sensitive skin now, but i have heard people say it when they're pg. You're fine scarlet, your baby will be fine too chuck

jaggythistle · 22/08/2011 21:08

hello.
have finally done a CBD this morning, alongside 2 other types so have decided to venture in here.

I'll probably be on the ttc thread too for a bit, it's getting awfy exciting! Grin

hope there's room in here for a big influx of confirmed pg people!

scarletfingernail · 22/08/2011 22:39

Welcome jaggy good to see you in here.

LoveIn Sunburn, yes that's an excellent comparison. My skin looks exactly the same as normal but it feels like sunburn when clothes or bedding touch it. And it's only in the one place. Thanks for putting my mind at rest, I have calmed down now Smile

Thanks dream I've never heard of anyone else complaining of tender skin, I was really beginning to prepare for the worst. Convinced myself it must be something to do with my kidneys because of the area Blush

LoveInAColdClimate · 23/08/2011 07:06

Hello Jaggy! Congratulations!

Scarlet - glad you're feeling reassured. Pregnancy has so many weird and wonderful symptoms, doesn't it?

Biscuitsandtea · 23/08/2011 08:23

Welcome Jaggy Smile

Isn't it weird how we all have different symptoms! At the risk of getting a bit deep it does make me marvel at how we're all essentially doing the same job, but with such odd and differing symptoms. And how some symptoms seem so irrelevant to the primary job!

Anyway, Scarlet glad you're feeling reassured and hope your skin is a bit less tender soon xx

pommedechocolat · 23/08/2011 09:21

Congrats Jaggy! So exciting to see so many of you coming over.

Brooking is brilliant.

Combination test later this am so another scan whoop whoop!! This will be my fourth scan now and I still feel worried and like I have no symptoms and am just fat!

I have a very obvious bump now. Can't be hidden.
