Just dropping in to announce the birth of dc3, a little boy born at 3.59am home water birth, weighing in at 9lb 1oz. 8hrs start to finish, dd and ds are thrilled; we're pretty tired!!! Name still to be decided....

KTisPG · 11/08/2011 09:27

Congratulations Ekka

Firawla · 11/08/2011 09:36

congrats ekka!!

mizzannie · 11/08/2011 10:46

sorry have been absent from the thread til now - congrats to all those august mummies who've had their little ones, you must be thrilled to bits. am 39 today with 2nd baby and really feeling VERY ready. also have completely forgotten what contractions feel like... so keep thinking awkward crampy kicks might be the start of something and they're not... midwife tells me i WILL remember as soon as i feel one.
how are you all managing to distract yourselves from the wait?

KLou111 · 11/08/2011 10:58

Congrats ekka :) enjoy your little bundle!!

Happy d day to me!!
Rang mw last night and got through to the ward and they said a sweep can be offered at term, so here's hoping she can do this aft as I'm her last appt too.

Received some baby books this morning I got off amazon, very cute. Just black and white soft ones with a mirror. One is family and one is farm animals.
Can hang them from wherever they are sitting, whether pram, cot, basket etc.

Have just spent the last hour defrosting our frost free freezer, shit thing, but first time since we got it Dec 09 so suppose not too bad lol! Got 2 weeks of Tesco shop coming in a bit just in case :)

Have a fab day all and will check in later x x

Rehune · 11/08/2011 15:48

Hello everyone! Sorry for the silence, just wanted to announce the birth of my beautiful daughter Raya (pronounced Rah-ya) born on Sunday 7th August at 17.20 and weighing in at 7lbs 1oz. Long labour and no painkillers! But so so so worth it. We are so thrilled. Just wanted to share with all of you. Congrats to all the others who have had babies and I will go through the thread and read it all soon

MrsStevo · 11/08/2011 16:40

CONGRATULATIONS Ekka and Rehune!!! Wonderful news.

Thinking of everyone still in the last few days/weeks of pregnancy. I only got to 35 weeks and was pretty uncomfortable so can't imagine what 40+ weeks must feel like. Fingers crossed for more on time babies!

MrsChemist · 11/08/2011 17:04

Congrats Ekka and Rehune :)

Hope you get your sweep KLou

neverlookback · 11/08/2011 17:46

ooh congratulations Ekka and Rehune, love your little girls name x
absoloute crap day today, kids driving me so mad, dd keeps have 3 hour crying hysterical fits at bedtime saying i dont love her anymore because i have had ds and im having another baby, i think she thinks im trying to replace her, its absoutly exhausting and very upsetting, no matter what i tell her or how much time i spend just me and her its never enough, the ds woke at 6.30am in the most naughty mood as if he thought right its my turn!
luckily my parents had them for the afternoon and i got in bed stuffed my face and slept! feel a bit better now x

RugbyWidow7 · 11/08/2011 18:15

Congrats Ekka and Rehune. Fab news!

Cappuccino, I have just bought two nursing vests (one black one white) new from Ebay for £4.99 each. I'm happy with that as they're much more in the shops.

Never that sounds like an horrendous day - you poor thing! So glad you got some rest this afternoon.

I'm soooo tired. My body is going haywire. Up at 6am everyday and awake half the night. I managed to go back to bed this morning and feel a bit better. Going to try to do the same thing tomorrow to stock up on sleep Smile. I don't know about you all but everything is hurting now! I'm ready for this little one!

KLou111 · 11/08/2011 18:33

Congratulations Rehune!!!! Beautiful name :)

I am going to stop coming on here lol, all fantastic news, but depressing for me as I WANT MY BUBBA!!!! Grin

Well, been to MW, offered me a sweep, did all the normal checks, then told me (just before she was going to do sweep) that our local hospital called her just before my appointment to tell her that the labour ward was FULL, and if I had a sweep, and it worked, there was a chance I would have to go to Swansea 30 mins away (ugh! bigger hospital, not interested!) or Aberystwyth about 45-60 mins away!!! (no clue about that hospital). So anyway, DH and I just looked at each other and said no.
We've already been 'warned' August is a busy month so will just have to bear with. MW coming to our house tomorrow, or over the weekend to do the sweep instead, but who's to say the ward isn't full anyway when I go into labour????
Anyway, has left me a bit deflated and pissed off to a point where DH snapped at me earlier about something neither of us can even remember and I just burst into tears about an hour later and I said he didn't love me anymore etc etc blah blah, and he gave me the loveliest cuddle, and said he was sorry, and he was sick of all the waiting too, and just wants the baby here as much as me.
God this is so hard!

Congrats Ekka and Rehune Raya - what a beautiful name :)

Life here with little Leo is great. My DS is being brilliant, wanting to kiss and cuddle hm. He comes running in from nursery shouting "hello Leo, hello Leo, Owen is here for you now" Grin so damn cute!!
Leo (so far) is a very easy baby, an just wants to be cuddled all the time, so I am more than happy to oblige Wink

Hope we get some more babies being "evicted" soon Grin xxx

Firawla · 11/08/2011 19:25

congrats rehune!!

klou that is a bit crap but hopefully when you do go in the ward will be nice and quietish. when i was in the labour ward was pretty empty!

nver that sounds hard :( hope your dd feels much better about the baby soon

we have named ds now, he is called rafiq and i put a pic up on profile

Leilandri · 11/08/2011 20:18

awww firawla what a cute little bundle he is! nice name too :)

littlemisslozza · 11/08/2011 22:06

Came home from hospital today, so just had a quick look at the news on here. Congratulations to all of you with babies that have been born this week.

Our DS3 is called Matthew, took us a day to decide but it seems to suit him Smile. DS1 adores him and is very gentle and loving, DS2 is less sure but he is only just 2, he shows him his toys which is very sweet.

Good luck to those of you still waiting, look forward to hearing more announcements soon!

Annie456 · 12/08/2011 03:53

Ah lovely name lozza, glad you're settling in at home!

I'm having one of my 3am-can't-sleep-carpal-tunnel-is driving-me-mad nights. I'm so pissed off with the tossing and turning. DH says I'm snoring like a trooper so I obviously am getting some sleep but think it must be little 15 min bursts and then I wake myself up. Annoyed as DH suggested a night away in a b&b in the countryside on Saturday (at 38 weeks for a change of scenery and some quality time). I kind of don't see the point if I'm going to be pacing the room all night not sleeping. We'd defo have to get a twin room but still...argh. Sorry, tiredness making me grumpy.

Anyway, will be checking in again in the morning for hopefully news of more arrivals (and wishing it was my turn..)
Xx

MrsStevo · 12/08/2011 04:59

Annie - I know what you mean about going away. DH and I went away for our 'last weekend together' when I was about 31ish weeks. I had a lousy night's sleep and was too knackered, uncomfortable and achey to do much during the day. Quite honestly I think I'd rather have stayed at home and got takeaways and watched movies or just had a day trip somewhere...at least then I'd have had all my home comforts!

Teladi · 12/08/2011 08:03

I was up in the night last night from 2:30-4:30 with back and bump pain that felt like period pain - thought it was the start of things but it tailed off and I went back to sleep. Bit achy this morning, not sure if that was the start of things or not, it didn't feel like what I thought contractions might feel like. I guess I will wait and see. DH is running a half marathon on Sunday so wants baby to hold off. 37+6... I'm sure it's probably nothing and I'll still be posting here in the antenatal thread in 2wk time!

RugbyWidow7 · 12/08/2011 10:00

Teladi I too had this last night. I couldn't get to sleep as I kept getting a strong pain in one side of my bump. Was reallly hoping it might have been the start of things (38+5), but alas, things feel pretty 'normal' this morning. Isn't it strange the not knowing...anything!!!?! How it should feel, when it will be, how long it will take etc etc

KLou111 · 12/08/2011 11:00

I've been getting pains like that for about 2weeks too. Just when you think you are getting somewhere it stops. Going to give mw a call in a bit to ask about my sweep. So fed up!! 40+1 today.

Just realised in my early morning grumpiness that I didn't congratulate Ekka, Rehune and majormoo on their new arrivals! Congratulations to all of you. :)

Great name Firawla :)

KLou111 · 12/08/2011 13:03

No sweep today, mw got someone in early labour and ward still quite busy so she's taking it day by day. So peed off, baby sitting really low I don't want to get up as I feel sickly desperate for a wee if that makes sense?

Annie456 · 12/08/2011 13:15

Sounds like things might happen on their own for you pretty soon klou! Very annoying to be thinking that the labour ward is full though...sending labour vibes! X
