Congratulations, Hersetta and fingers crossed Yukana
37+4 here and quite happy for things to move now; I look/feel like a doughnut-addicted walrus Blush........................ If I liked doughnuts I could justify it betterGrin

Good luck all over the next few days. x

Congratulations Hersetta, and Good Luck Astar and Yukana x

LadyGoneGaga · 28/07/2011 10:43

Congratulations MrsS, Winter and Hersetta. Good luck, Yukana.

I know I haven't posted much here lately as kind of straddled July and August but had my beautiful little girl Iris Mary on Sunday 24th. I was induced due to Gestational Diabetes but had a really easy, quick labour once it got going (3h 45 mins, 20 mins second stage, managed on gas and air). So inductions don't have to be bad!

Anyway she was 9lb 8oz Shock and was born with her elbow up to her face so have a bit of a tear but not too bad.

Hope everyone is well.

KLou111 · 28/07/2011 10:50

Massive congrats lady and what a beautiful name! Glad it all went well and not too traumatic!

Keeping my eyes peeled for you yukana as you had the same show stuff the day before me and you were due the day before me too!

Good luck all the others, its becoming a daily thing now! So exciting!

Have mw appt this aft so going to see what she thinks about the show and all that and see where bubs is in relation to being engaged :)

Good luck all x x x x x x

Congratulations Hersetta and Lady, and good luck Yukana!

Yesterday I wanted to treat myself with manicure&pedicure and then I ended up walking a lot? Last night I was so tired that I slept through until 10.30 this morning?Grin

Anu3 · 28/07/2011 11:20

Congratulations Hersetta and Lady and Good Luck to Astar and Yukana!!!

Just got back from my mw appt - all well, baby in position and 2/5 engaged - No signs of any show / BH / labour though! Im getting impatient i think :) 39 weeks tomorrow!

X

Rehune · 28/07/2011 12:20

Congratulations Hersetta and LadyGoneGaga and all the best Star and Yukana

Have booked pregnancy massage this evening and hoping that will move things along! Have had quite a lot of discharge and some mild BH (and bad wind!) but nothing yet. My mum tells me my belly hasnt 'dropped' yet. I have no idea what this means.

Going to go out into the sunshine and get some snacks for the hospital bag. Have a great day ladies. x

KLou111 · 28/07/2011 12:52

Belly drops when bubs moves down into position rehune :) so less hard for you to breathe etc too

CappuccinoCarrie · 28/07/2011 13:30

Congratulations lady and hersetta!!!
37 weeks today so officially full term!
My baby has dropped...and come back up again! Having a high day today, right up in my ribs, but sometimes its incredibly low.
MW tomorrow then going to a wedding, then baby is allowed to come :)
Picked up the moses basket we're borrowing today, so nice to have 'newborn' things in the house. We'll have that upstairs and the bassinet/pram downstairs. So excited! :) :) :)

MrsVidic · 28/07/2011 13:31

Rehune- I'd take peoples comments on height of bump with a pinch of salt. Mw says I'm fully engaged and ppl still say it looks like baby hasn't dropped yet.
I'd go by your bladder and as khlou said breathing. Yet I only noticed mine had dropped as looked in the mirror and saw my boobs looked a little droopy- then I realised it's cause there was no bump keeping them up! Grin

KLou111 · 28/07/2011 14:42

Lol mrsv re your boobs!

Well just been reading about when labour is imminent and says need to wee more often, belly lower, lots of discharge and loose stools. Well, guess bubs is on his/her way lol!

Sick of the weeing, was up 7 times last night, then 5 times in the space of 2 hours just now. Not a lot comes out but get that desperate need to go now feeling!

Leilandri · 28/07/2011 14:53

huge congratulations LadyGoneGaga beautiful name.

Had MW today, she says baby is head down, and ready to go, and been getting constant backache all day with niggling little jabby pains thrown in. ELCS booked for 10 days time, so knowing my luck my little man will decide to come early, as we are now having a new bathroom fitted next week and the water will be off for 3 days Hmm

Good luck to everyone as it all seems to be kicking off now! Grin

Firawla · 28/07/2011 16:11

congrats ladygonegaga!!! beautiful name! and really good to hear of ur induction going well and so quick, thats very reassuring :D
wonder how star and yukana are getting on
i wouldnt worry too much about babies not engaged yet etc, mine never seemed to engage fully until during labour i think? mw said this one is at the moment 1/5 engaged and 4/5 not

Annie456 · 28/07/2011 16:36

So exciting-another day, another birth announcement!!
I've still got a month to go but already feel like it won't be that long...having braxton hicks constantly and they've started to be more painful. Last week I was 1/5 engaged. I reckon I'm still a couple if weeks off but have definitely started to think about it being 2 weeks early rather than 2 weeks late...just can't wait to meet the LO now! (and it would be nice not to have another night of going to the loo 8 times in 2 hours...gosh imagine what I'll be like when I'm fully engaged!) x

KLou111 · 28/07/2011 17:21

Well been to mw and measuring 35cm, the same as 2 weeks ago at 36 weeks and also thinks more likely back to back. So got growth scan tmrw or early next week whenever they can get me in. Be nice to see little one again :) MW also thinks is a girl along with everyone else so only me thinking boy now lol!

WinterLover · 28/07/2011 17:47

Hello everyone.

Thankyou for all the well wishes, myself and Oliver and doing well. He's a bit jaundice but is finally feeding from me. All being well should be home tomoro.

I shall read and catch up once I'm home and can view on a bigger screen.

Congratulations to those who've had their LOs and good luck to everyone else Grin

KLou111 · 28/07/2011 18:19

Awww, you've named him Winter lovely name, and the most popular :)
Glad you are getting him feeding well now :) Hopefully not too much longer til you're home x

Teladi · 28/07/2011 18:44

Congrats and well done LadyGoneGaga :) I love the name you have chosen.

Nice name pick too, Winter!

Feeling a bit nervous reading those 'signs labour is imminent' that KLou posted because I've had all of those the last day or so. I am only 35+5! I'm not expecting anything though... think this wee one will be taking her time ;)

Yukana · 29/07/2011 08:17

Update again. Apparently my waters haven't broken, but to keep wearing pads and keep an eye on things. No idea what the (tmi warning) 5 gushes Hmm I experienced were then, so I'm at a loss.

Had emergency growth scan, showing at this point baby is measuring about 41 weeks and was given weight estimate of 9-10lbs. Consultant appointment wednesday next week (which I think is too late given that she's massive already) to discuss birth management.

I've got to ask for some important advice ladies, if I have the option, would you go with an induction and vaginal delivery, or a caesarian? Honestly I don't deal with pain well, and the thought of tearing majorly fills me with fear. Even more so because of anaemia, where I'm at an increased risk of bleeding badly. Epidural or spinal block is out of the question due to me and DP being against them, so I wouldn't accept that form of pain relief. Women in my family also tend to have small hips.
Caesarian on the other hand - I'm terrified of operations and don't like needles, so would go under general not local anaesthetic. I don't know how long after baby arrives I'll wake up however, and I very much wish to breastfeed. However, with no risk of tearing, and I may be wrong but no risk of haemorrhaging, it's probably the safer option. DP thinks I should go for latter, as under general anaesthetic I can't have a panic attack, and he also thinks it's safer considering everything on top of extremely bad spd. What would you do?

Yukana · 29/07/2011 08:21

Also, congratulations LadyGoneGaga and will look forward to anymore exciting birth announcements!

Firawla · 29/07/2011 09:00

yukana i would discuss it with the consultant before making up your mind as they may be able to help you decide whats for the best. i suppose with induction there is still the risk of ending up with an emergency c section in the end, so i would say it prob depends how strongly you feel about avoiding c sections and trying to go for a vaginal delivery?
but also remember their growth estimates can be wrong its only an estimate, and also being a big size does not necessarily alwaysss lead to a v difficult birth, tearing etc. my 2nd ds was big (9.5lb) and his birth was much simpler than i expected
but talk to your consultant and see what they advise. hopefully it will all go well!
