madkatz that doesnt sound niceSad i am left handed too and cant do much with my right hand, i imagine you must be in some awful pain, and not being able to take anything for itSad

iwish no this thrush doesnt bother her, i am not convinced it is thrush, i suspect it is just milk and sick all the time.

and i wish i could get a smile on the camera. it lasts a split second after me smiling manically at her for about half an hourGrin and saying over and over 'come on smile for mummy'Grin

lizandlulu · 31/08/2011 22:25

i have uploaded a load of photos that i had done ,but thye all have the photographers logo across the bottom, the computer wont let me upload the normal ones for some reason

Iwish · 01/09/2011 07:57

Awww liz your pics are fab! She is absolutely gorgeous and lulu is so cute!
Grin about trying to get a pic! Bet she smiles until you are just about to press the button and she stops lol!

KLou111 · 01/09/2011 13:14

Awwww Liz your photos are gorgeous!! I emailed MN and apparently if photos are too big they won't upload. I've got to try and work out how to make the quality lower now so I can upload some that Rob took on his camera as he's got a proper camera versus mine lol! Will put some of mine up though.
Hoping the thrush isn't thrush too.

Well, had a FABULOUS sleep last night. Have got Euan's night feeding to over 4 hours and I had to wake HIM last night at 4:25am after his feed at 12:05!!! Then he fed at 8:50am :) AND I DIDN'T DUMMY HIM!!!

He's got an appt at the hospital next Tuesday morning re his tongue, so am hoping that has something to do with his feeding too, so hopefully he'll be able to suck better if they say yes. If it is a yes, they should do it next Friday.
Weird getting a letter addressed to him lol!!

Sorry about your hand Madkatz sounds awful :( Hope you manage to get it sorted.

Hope you're SPD settles soon Iwish and good on you spending some money on yourself!!

Just placed an order with Vertbaudet.co.uk Got some lovely little outfits, some in the sale, but they give you £15 off your first order too, and I got a free little wooden train set lol! Stuff probably more expensive to begin with rather than the supermarkets etc, so may end up sending it back anyway, but got a cute set of dungarees, and trousers, t-shirts, socks etc etc. We got some money from some people down the pub that we've only met a couple of times lol so it's gone to good use!!

Hope you're OK Melly :)

Well we had a right scare last night!! We had poppy in the bath (she goes in the big bath with simon, so much easier that way!) and she has always obsessed over trying to drink the bath water, and last night she finally succeeded. She got a mouthful of it and immediately started choking/coughing and spluttering and also screaming, I immediately snatched her out and started to winding her and she just kept coughing and spluttering and screaming and drooling bubbles, her face was so red I honestly thought she would burst something! Simon jumped out the bath and I told him to run next door (our next door neighbours a nurse) and she said just to keep winding her and if we're worried (duh!) take her down to a&e, by this point we were panicking as it had been about 25 minutes and she was still coughing spluttering and screaming. So we nipped down to a&e but it was closed. She calmed down a bit when we were sat in the car and I managed to get her to feed but she was still really stressed out. So we rang NHS direct and they got back to us and said the stuff that she had swallowed (Oilatum junior bath formula) was ok, would probably cause a bit of D&V but they don't treat for swallowing it. By this time it was 10 past 9, over an hour since it happened! Managed to get her dressed, although I had to stop feeding her so we could get a sleepsuit on her and she started screaming again. Managed to calm her back down and she didn't stop feeding/sucking till about half 10. Anyway, she seems ok now, been feeding and farting like normal. We were so scared it was unreal, it was such a relief when she finally went to sleep and started snoring like she usually does! Her eyes looked so sore and red this morning though, after all the crying bless her :(
Sorry for the long post.

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 01/09/2011 16:37

Oh by the way, like my new name? It's melly, incase you hadn't already guessed :o

Liz those pics are gorgeous! I love that one at the top where she's got her arm over the side of her face, and the one of her and lulu, they're so cute! I want to get some pixi fotos done of poppy but simon said they won't compare to the ones I've taken :o
Nearly pissed myself at "half an hour of smiling manically at her" :o

Hey Iwish, 1 day left at work for you! The SPD sounds awful, I really hope it settles down, how big is the tubigrip exactly? Do you put peas or anything like that on your ankles? Or maybe soaking them in cold water.

Klou that's good that Euan goes 4 hours at night, at least you're getting some good kips inbetween! What do the dogs think to him?

Madkatz you're wrist doesn't sound too good, I bet it's a bloody pain in the arse not being able to take anything for it other than paracetamol! I hope your cold gets better soon aswell, it's horrible being poorly!

Gruff I hope you're all ok and that your wrists get better soon!

Ooooh we got our new car yesterday, it's so big compared to what we're used to, a little pug 206!

KLou111 · 01/09/2011 16:40

Oh my God Melly / Spaghetti so glad she's OK! You must've been at your wits end!!!
Sounds like she's managed to get a bit more back to normal. Can't imagine what you were going through!! :( Makes you realise how vulnerable the little ones are.

What's with the new name? :)

OP posts:
SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 01/09/2011 17:08

I know we were so relieved when she eventually calmed down enough to sleep and basically went back to her normal farty self.

RE the name, I just fancied a change, and I'm a bit more anonymous now. You can still call me melly if you like though :o

lizandlulu · 01/09/2011 17:42

god melly/spaghetti (ohh that rhymesGrin) i bet you were so worried!! fancy a and e being bloody closed. you can always count on the them thenHmm not!
glad she is ok now, its not like she will remember it, unlike youGrin!!

and woohoo for the new car! my mum had a 206 and it was really small compared to mine, but she loved it. zipped through town and dead cheap to run.

well we are away again from tomorrow till sunday. in the caravan tho so abit more civilised than the horsebox! going to chatsworth show and i am so so so so looking forward to it!

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 01/09/2011 19:32

The hospital in gainsborough is shite. A&E is only open 8 til 8! Our neighbour told us it was open till 10pm, and she works there!

Just call me melly lol :o

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 01/09/2011 19:33

Oh btw have fun this weekend liz

MadKatz · 02/09/2011 07:16

Morning Ladies,

All fine with the MW yesterday, but the GP confirmed Tendonitis and early signs of carpal tunnel Sad Got to go back if symptoms get worse, otherwise carry on as I have been with paracetamol and tubigrip

Lol Melly re the normal farty self comment Grin glad she's ok though, you must have been really worried.

Have a nice weekend Liz

Congrats on your last day at work Iwish!

KLou111 · 02/09/2011 11:30

Oh that's a bloody pain in the arse madkatz, hope you're not suffering too much :(

Enjoy your last day Iwish, hope you get spoilt rotten and don't really work!!
Can't believe how quickly that's come around!! How long have you and Madkatz got left now?? (Must make a mental note to self on your due dates as not sure how many times I've asked that!!)

Well, today is first day of me trying out this Gina Ford routine thing. So far so good (except hers starts at 7am and mine started at 8am!) Have got little one down for a nap at the moment, he's supposed to have a nap 11:30am-2pm, but we're planning to go out in a bit, so it'll probably already go out of the window!!
I've bought some Medela breast shells and they are bloody brilliant!! Was trying to express a little milk of for Rob to feed, and the only time I seemed to be able to get any was at the same time as feeding Euan, which was not easy. HV suggested these shells, and sure enough they are great. Am putting him on one breast, and shell on the other, and catching anything upto 2oz each feed!!! Have just had to put 4oz in the freezer!
Would thoroughly recommend :)

MadKatz · 02/09/2011 19:56

Can hardly move my hand or pick anything up today Sad putting it down to all the poking and prodding by gp yesterday I hope.

KLou I'm due 5th October although everyone apart from MW thinks I'm going to be early as baby is quite low. Trying to convince myself I will manage 2 more weeks of work!!

Those medela shells sound fab, may have to try those.

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 03/09/2011 16:49

Oh that's a good idea Klou! I might try that, although I can never be bothered with the washing and sterilizing etc of bottles. I tried Poppy with a bottle of expressed milk once and she took it but wasn't impressed. And I decided it was such a faff that I'd only express if I had to :o
Bought her a load of new clothes yesterday from Asda George. Got a pair of jeans for £2!!!

Look at this typo If the link takes you to pics of Tech, just go to my pictures. It may be easier :o

Ouch Madkatz that sounds really bad, I hope it clears up! Hows your cold doing by the way, any better?

Yay Iwish! You've finished work now! Lie ins and naps here you come!!

How is everyones weekend so far?

KLou111 · 03/09/2011 18:16

I just ordered a load of clothes from George today spaghetti too :) can get so much for your money. Euan has outgrown newborn as he's so long!!
Re bottles etc I've got the mam self steriliser ones so done really quick :)

Enjoying your 1st day off iwish?

Hope you feel better soon madkatz sounds bloody awful.

Hope I don't get a cold, been pissing with rain and we went to bubs first rugby match! He was ok on his jogging suit and waterproof cover lol but we were soaked through!

OP posts:
KLou111 · 03/09/2011 18:25

Forgot to say, I had to put Euan in his basket in his cot this morning. He didn't stop chuntering from 2.30am. He was asleep I think, but fed him at 4, then he woke up and at 5.30 I had to move him, I was so knackered!! Could still hear him as in next room with door open, and Rob got up and sorted him in the end, but not sure now whether to leave him in there as he's so noisy!! I didn't wake up til after 9 which I felt so bad about as it was over 5 hrs since his feed. But I hadn't slept and felt better for it and he didn't seem to

OP posts:
KLou111 · 03/09/2011 18:26

Mind as he was asleep too!!

OP posts:
KLou111 · 04/09/2011 15:07

ha ha ha Spag at typo!!! Them flowers are dahlias :)

Well, put Euan in his room last night all night, with the sound and movement monitor on and HURRAH! it worked. He also has a Winnie lightshow thing that comes on when he makes a noise and projects images on the ceiling and plays music and this really worked sending him back off if he woke up for no reason (except the sodding batteries went!!)
We took his mattress off the cot and put the moses basket on top, and it worked a treat cos Rob took him out of his basket for a cuddle before bed and the sodding alarm went off a good-un!! Fed then bed at 11:30, fed at 3:30, then fed at 7:30 Grin
Felt like I'd had the best nights sleep in ages last night as no chuntering!! And the routine is working a treat!! Hoping it stays that way lol!
Going out again tonight for a meal I think. We're trying to do it once a week like we used to, and so far so good, Euan is fast asleep the whole time!!

Hope all your weekends are good!!

MadKatz · 04/09/2011 21:06

Went to Hereford today to pick up the pram. Also bought a high chair and bouncer. Then spent 2 hours at home trying car seat and pram in and out both cars and boots to make sure it all fits in, put the bouncer and high chair chair together, put beds in right rooms. Knackered now but completely ready for LO except for getting me some nursing bras Grin

Hand still very sore, thank god for paracetamol, shame I can't take anything stronger!!!

Glad you got a good night's sleep KLou

Enjoying your days off Iwish?

KLou111 · 05/09/2011 08:19

Sounds like a busy day Madkatz!!

Had a bit of a sicky baby last night :( Everything I fed him, he threw up and I just knew I'd be up twice feeding in the night. Which I kinda was, second being at 6:20 this morning, so not too bad I suppose!

Am still struggling to put my piccies up, so here is the link for my facebook album enjoy!!
(I haven't put the photo on there of the one off our thank you cards, cos they're not here yet, and didn't want to use a photo people have already seen lol, so that'll be on once they're sent)
Feel free to befriend me on facebook :)

Sorry ladies I have been away from the thread for a few days. Have spent this weekend cleaning my house so it's now all lovely and tidy :)

Im now free from work woohoo!! Last day at work was v chilled out, didn't even go in till 11:40 and left at 5. Still had lunch in the middle of that too lol. Work bought me a photo album, a play mat and a digital photo frame! So nice of them. Other people at work also bought me lots of little outfits and blankets for him, a little sign for his door and a gorgeous baby record book which made me cry just looking at it lol!

klou your pics are gorgeous! He is so cute! Awww poor little man , is he ok today? Did you go out for your tea last night?

madkatz your hands sound v painful. Will it go away when little one arrives? You are v organised! We have everything for baby but I need nighties, bras and some new lounging around clothes for after birth.

Lol at the typo melly!! that's hilarious. George have loads of lovely clothes don't they. Everytime I go shopping I find myself wandering round the baby clothes.

liz how did the show go? Did you enjoy yourself?

gruff hope you are ok too and hope your wrists are better.

lizandlulu · 05/09/2011 14:19

its pissing down now tho, but i am inside so dont careGrin

LULU IS AT SCHOOL TOMORROW YYYEEEEYYYYYYY!!!!!Grin can have abit of peace and quiet.

although if the baby is like she is today i wont, she wont let me put her down at all without cryingSad

Iwish · 05/09/2011 14:54

Lol liz. You sound v excited for lulu going to school! Hope violet let's you have a bit of peace and quiet tho.

Off to the hospital for antenatal today. I have been going to the day unit at the hospital for the last 2 visits because little mans heart rate was too high, up to 200bpm. His heartrate has gone back to normal on my last visit but they were not at all happy with the swelling in my feet and my bp was creeping up again too. They have decided that I have to go to the hospital now every week instead of midwives at the doctors for my antenatals so I'm close to the day unit if I need monitoring.

lizandlulu · 05/09/2011 15:08

better to be on the safe side tho iwish

yes i am so glad she is going back to school. shes not a bad girl, or naughty, but she can talk the hind leg off a donkey. honest to god, i have never known a child talk so much!

i ment to say i used this buggy buddy thing at the weekend that i bought ages ago, and its dead good. its one of these www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-SALE-SUNSHINE-KIDS-BUGGY-BUDDY-PUSHCHAIR-ACCESSORY-/150554568824?pt=UK_Toys_Games_Toys_CA&hash=item230dc06878 its not exactly the same as that ,but same idea.
