Iwish · 25/08/2011 17:29

He means well doesn't he lol. His mum text ms today saying 'I hope this is your last day at work' Shock I replied and said no I'm working fill next Friday. I'm pretty sure I can manage one more week, a 4 day week at that!

Omg I can't believe you are already thinking of sex!! It was erm.... 15 weeks ago we had sex Blush Shock
Is Euan sleeping and feeding ok? He sounded like a dream on your last update!

lizandlulu · 25/08/2011 19:09

OMG klou i cant believe you WANT to have sex already!!! i cant remember the last time i did and dont intend to until i have been for my 8 week checkSmile still got 3 more weeks to go!

how is Euan? still sleeping all the time?

i have been to asda and it felt like i was in there for daysGrin i looked round the clothes, then food, then went to the cafe as i expected violet to wake up and want her feed, but she didnt, so took lulu to the toilet, then went back into the clothes as i had talked myself out of buying something then decided i wanted it, then the baby woke and i fed her, then changed her bum. wore me outGrin

is it too much to be buying babys next years summer clothes in the sale??Grin well i have already started! got her a sun suit and swimming cossie in the saleGrin

Iwish · 25/08/2011 21:17

Lol liz!! Next years clothes!! If you can do it then good on ya!
She is mad thinking about sex now. I can't even think of it now lol.
How has violet been? Is lulu the doting big sister?

lizandlulu · 26/08/2011 10:15

no iwish lulu is far from the doting big sister! she just tends to ignore her most of the time, but occasionally she will talk to her in the back of the car or want to hold her hand.

i think the baby keeps getting trapped wind, she was really unsettled again yesterday afternoon/evening. i was holding her while she was crying and the trumped and she stopped crying straight away. she seems to be ok when she has had a good clear out.

well today it is hammering it down outside, i dont fancy being stuck in all day but everywhere i can think of to go will be packed out! cant win

KLou111 · 26/08/2011 17:07

Well, couldn't wait, and DTD Grin I know the thought totally [shocks] you lol, but hey ho, what will be will be :) (Think that thought of another baby in 9 months actually sunk it to DH today though when he clicked that Euan wouldn't even be 1.......errrrr yeah lol!!)
Well, chances are nothing has happened, but we couldn't wait ha ha!! Think that has been the longest time ever we've not had sex!! (12 days!)

Anyway, moving on. Have just finished our birth announcement cards :) Have posted the photo we've used. God we have a beautiful son!!! Wink

Good on you Liz clothes wise. Went to Asda in July with my parents and I was gutted I couldn't buy any of the sale stuff. We haven't got an Asda here, it's 30 mins away, but going back to the Midlands mid September so hoping some sales may be on around then :) Even though Euan actually I think has more clothes than me!!

Iwish 15 weeks????? Bloody hell! No comment!!
1 week to go for you, bet you can't wait!

Feeling a bit knackered today. Euan was up 3 times during the 'night' (well, before I wanted to get up!!) at 2:40, 5:10 and 7, you could class it at twice lol!! I actually got a bit weepy at the 5am one as he didn't want to get off my boob, but he wasn't feeding after 15 mins or so, just had it in his mouth. As soon as I took him off he started moaning again. It's really odd as he doesn't really cry, just sucks his hands, and makes odd noises!
Spoke to the HV about it and she said it should settle by 6 weeks.
I also asked her about his tongue, as he can't stick it out a lot, and the bit of skin underneath looked like it was holding it in too much and pulling it back. She said usually if they are feeding OK, nothing is done, although it can effect their speech, so she's referred us to the hospital and going to tell a little porkie that he's not feeding properly, so he can have it snipped (sounds awful, but if it helps, would rather get it done now rather than later when he'd have to be put to sleep).

Anyway TTFN, DH is calling Wink (only joking!!)

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 26/08/2011 19:54

Hello all! How is everybody today? Well simons dad is being completely ridiculous about his bloody caravan, he's accused everyone of taking it, literally! He's accused simons mum, big bro, little bro, and yesterday he accused us! He's a complete fruit loop!! Hmm

Shock Honestly Klou, Euan's only 2 weeks old isn't he? Although tbf, we only waited 3 weeks :o
I know a couple of people whose babies had tongue tie, they had it snipped and it didn't hurt them apparantly so try not to worry about that :) CAm't wait to see some more pics of Euan, he's just gorgeous!

Liz yeah course we can meet up, it's not like I'm ever really busy nowadays :o and my MIL bought loads of clothes for poppys 1st birthday in the next sale so you're not the only one with forwards thinking :o Lulu might become more interested in Violet when she becomes more interesting if you see what I mean? Bit of a bummer about the pictures!

Iwish I bet you can't wait to finish work, you'll be able to have nice long lie-ins, duvet days, and generally just slob out :o 15 weeks? I can only imagine what it will be like when you start doing it again :o

lizandlulu · 27/08/2011 17:28

i tried to upload photos too klou and it wouldnt, must be problem their end.

ANYWAY,,,,,

are you telling me that you did the deed without taking precautions??? are you actually CCRRAAAYYYZZZEEEEEE??????

Iwish · 27/08/2011 17:57

Yeh 1 week to go. Im sooo counting down the days!! And I can't believe it's been 15 weeks either. I think nick is kind of freaked out by my big belly anyway. Although I do feel v bad that he isn't getting any.

You crazy woman dtd already klou nevermind without protection lol!

melly I am really looking forward to a few lie ins and afternoon sleeps on the sofa.
What does his dad think you have done with the caravan, shoved it in your handbag lol!!

How are you liz? I'm sure lulu will get a bit more interested soon too.

Hope gruff and madkatz are ok too.

Well we are going to pizza hut and the cinema tonight then off to Wales tomorrow :)

Iwish · 27/08/2011 23:02

Just need to have a moan.....
DPs mum is doing my frikkin head in!!!! Can't go anywhere or do anything without her wanting to know what we are doing. We have just been to the cinema for 2 hours and came home to a message wanting to know if we were ok because we hadn't rang her all day??!! WTF!! I don't speak to my mum for a week sometimes! So DP rang her back and she went in a mood and wanted to know why we didn't tell her we are going to the cinema??!! I swear if she is expecting a call every day until the baby comes she has another thing coming!! We are not telling anyone when I go in labour!!

KLou111 · 28/08/2011 13:39

How odd Iwish of your MIL??? Kinda obsessive if you ask me!!
Hope you enjoy your weekend away to Wales, bloody baking here at the moment, hoping it stays like that!

Yes, I know, I know, we were a bit crazy lol, but Rob has made a move since Wink so it obviously doesn't bother him the whole unprotected thing lol. We haven't done anything again yet though :)

Well, am TOTALLY knackered this morning. Tried a new 'tactic' with bubs last night. Bathed him, fed him and put him to bed (on his own) in our room at 10pm. We went up at 11:45, he woke, fed, and went straight to sleep. I've got his feeds to 3.5-4 hours in the day, so we thought we'd try it at night too. Boy were we wrong!! He woke at 2:30am, ignored him, went to sleep, GREAT! But he woke at 3:10, fed til 3:40, then didn't want to go back down. Rob got up at 4:10, and took him off me as I was just sat in the nursery (with Euan), in the feeding chair crying as I couldn't settle him, (I feed him in our room, but didn't want to disturb Rob so went in other room) He came back up at 5:30 as he still wasn't settled, so I fed him again for 10 mins (as he fell asleep!!) Then woke again at 7:05, sucked for 5 mins, fell asleep, 8:15, sucked for 10 mins, fell asleep.
I've rang my mum this morning as I thought about giving him a dummy as he seems to just want to suck rather than feed.
She's told me to express a little milk as I'm obviously tired, so Rob can feed him tonight, and that way we know how much he's getting. If he sleeps, he's obviously not getting enough from me. Up to me with the dummy thing.
Also she's told me to eat more. But I wonder if it's something to do with his tongue??

OP posts:
Iwish · 28/08/2011 19:27

Your telling me klou!! it's pi*sing me off that she thinks we should check in with her every day. We don't want anyone knowing when I've gone into labour otherwise our parents will just turn up and wait. Especially her!! Won't be able to go for a pee soon without telling her lol!

My friends little girl was doing a similar thing. Feeding then crying for more 10 mins later but not actually wanting the milk - just using her as a dummy. So she bought her a dummy which seems to have done the job. Euan might just be having an off day though?

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 28/08/2011 20:31

Iwish, no we flatpacked the caravan and hid it in the rabbit hutch Hmm
Not good about your MIL, I hope she won't turn into a MIL/grandma from hell. That's the last thing you need! What is she normally like? Have a good time in wales!

Perhaps you should try a dummy Klou, Poppy did this a lot and in the end we just thought "stuff this" and shoved a dummy in and bingo! Slept 4 hours solid.

Well, we bought our new car yesterday! It's amazing! It's a Vauxhall Vectra Elegance, very posh :o picking it up wednesday or thursday. The boot is ginormous! Simon likes to put offcuts of carpet in his boot to keep it nice, and this one is so big I said he should go and get a carpet specially fitted :o
Oh my days! Just sat here with poppy in her rabbit ring thing, and she has just grabbed one of the toys on it and is lying there holding it!!!! She's so clever! [proud] Oh just uploaded some new pics of her too :)

KLou111 · 29/08/2011 08:57

Morning

Ahhh Melly very clever Poppy :) Will have a look at pics, and try and finally upload some if MN has fixed their bloody system!!
Car sounds lovely, bet you can't wait. Rob's the same with the whole carpet thing!!!

Iwish you want to do a diary of when you have a poo, and wipe your bum, and tell her, she may get the message!!

Well, after Euan being awake for most of the day yesterday, we thought we'd get some sleep last night. Expressed 2.5 oz in the end, I couldn't get anymore out. Thought we'd try the dummy at around 7pm as he was getting tired but grizzly, seemed to work!!!
Rob fed him at 11pm, he got a bit weepy bless him, as he could finally get involved in the whole feeding thing, and it was so nice to see Daddy feeding son :)
Went to bed after Euan's feed, and he dropped straight off! Woke at 2:30, so dummied him, and worked til 3:30 which is when I wanted to feed him (as trying to get him 4-5 hours) ,hurrah!!
But every hour or so he was chuntering, and pressed his lips together and wouldn't let me put his dummy back in.
Fed him again at 7:30, tried to get him off again, but got up at 8:15 in the end (and he's still chuntering!!)
Rob just got downstairs and he says he didn't really hear him a lot as I got to him so quick, so at least one of us got a good nights sleep lol. I do feel a lot better than yesterday though, my head was pounding all day. Spoke to MW yesterday aft as she rang to book to discharge us, and she said he's probably having a growth spurt.

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 29/08/2011 19:57

evening all. i have read all of the posts but my brain is so fuzzy i cant remember what i have read!

klou i hope Euan settles soon for you, its horrible not being able to go to sleep when you cant keep your eyes open. saturday night, violet was awake from 12.20 am to about 4.40 am, it was torture. at least your dh is willing to take his turn, mine is still being an arse, i have got to talk to him about it, its not fair on me.

and she has been asleep for most of the day! i have tried keeping her awake but she just drops off when my back is turned! i can see i am in for another looooong nightSad

Iwish · 30/08/2011 21:20

I'm back :)

Haha melly he will never find the caravan in there! Awww bless her she is clever. You should be a proud mummy Grin
She's normally not that bad. She did phone DP about 3/4 times a week sometimes tho. I just keep thinking 'your not my mother so get lost'

omg klou I should do that!! She would feck off and leave me alone then!
Yeh must be a growth spurt, he might go back to sleeping a little better again soon. bless your DH getting involved, bet it was so lovely for him.

liz how did your Monday night after trying to keep violet awake during the day?

I have physio at 8am tomorrow for my SPD. Hope they can sort me out because this weekend has been the worst Ive had it. I was up from 5am till 7:30am on Sunday night in tears with the pain and also every time I turned over or woke for a wee before 5am and after 7:30am (which at the moment Is every 1 1/2 hours :()
On a happy note tho I finish work on Friday! Yippee!!

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 30/08/2011 23:29

Welcome back iwish! Apart from the spd did you have a good time? I am very proud of poppy :)
I know exactly what you mean re mil. Mine just comes round whenever she feels like it, she doesn't ring first which pees me off!
I really hope the physio helps, good luck for tomorrow!

klou poppy did this for a few days when she was around 2 weeks. She settled down again after about 4-5 nights. Aww sounds like rob was happy at being able to feed euan! Bless him :) dunno why but i think it's so sweet when men cry (for a good reason obviously lol)!

liz how did you get on with violet the other night? You certainly do need to kick chris' arse into gear, he can't expect you to be able to be 24-7 full time parent to a 5?yo and a small baby with no help in the night! Poor you, you must be shattered!

Got poppy weighed today, 11lbs 2.5oz!
Saw simons dad today aswell, he drove past me and actually had the audacity to smile and wave at me Shock! After what he's done!! I just blanked him.

YOOHOOO! gruffalo and madkatz, where arrrre youuuu?

lizandlulu · 31/08/2011 09:01

morningSmile

iwish poor you, you must be in so much pain, i hope you get it sorted, and hope even more its better after the birth. and enjoy your last few days at workGrin

melly your pics of poppy are beautiful! really really lovely! violet has started to smile Smile Smile at first i tthought it was wind, but now shes doing it back to me and has been for the last 2 days so must be the real thingGrin its so gummy and cute!!!
i think my violet weighs 11 pound already!! she was 10lb 4, 4 weeks ago!
and had to take her to the docs yest as she has oral thrushSad its been there since birth but its not going. its not getting worse and i thought it was just milk and sicky stuff as she feeds so often but the doc said it looks like thrush and gave me this stuff in a bottle to give her on a spoon! it smells vile and she keeps spitting it out so dont knwo how much good its going to do.

she hasnt been too bad at night, for the last 2 nights shes been awake in the late evenings, going to sleep around 12 and waking at 4-5 then back to sleep again till about 8ish which i can mamage with well!

GruffaloMama · 31/08/2011 15:31

Hi all. Sorry will have to be super quick as DS will be waking up soon from his nap.

Liz - loving the smiles - DD has just started too. Heart-breaking! Melly Poppy is gorgeous. Klou sorry about the frequent feeding - it does sound a lot like a growth spurt. though I reckon you might be a bit optimistic to try to move to 4-5 hours between feeds (DS didn't manage that during the day until he was about 18 months...) Wink

Iwish so sorry about the SPD. Hope the physio helps. BTW mine has improved a lot in the last 5 weeks. So there is light at the end of the tunnel. My wrists, though, are knackered. Can't type etc - off to see the physio in a couple of weeks. Madkatz is all okay?

MadKatz · 31/08/2011 18:49

Hello Ladies....sorry....OMG i've missed loads Sad

Warning - moan coming up...

Not been well for over a week now. Started with pains in my hand beginning of last week - thought I'd just knocked my wrist or something. Got worse and worse, ended up at A&E last Thursday night in agony (and after I dropped a glass at home because it became too painful to hold on to before I could put it down) Confused

And all they think is that its tendonitis!! Common in pregnancy apparently - anyone else heard of this? Hmm

Then DH bought home a cold from work and I got it (I have a very low immune system anyway so have been really lucky so far with this pregnancy) really badly, so we went away as planned at the weekend to my friends wedding feeling absolutely crap one way or another.

Finally over the cold today but hand is still killing. Its now all up my arm too - not great when I'm totally left handed / not at all ambidextrous / typing is the main part of my job.

Roll on 2 weeks time when I go on maternity, but ideally don't want this when baby gets here as I don't want to drop him/her! Hmm

Hope you're all OK x

GruffaloMama · 31/08/2011 19:02

Hi Madkatz - poor you. Big hugs. I've got carpal tunnel syndrome which might be similar - it's affected my hands and wrists and (I'm sorry to tell you) it's got worse since DD arrived - I reckon it's all the lifting and pushing the pram. Have been wearing splints in bed at night which has helped - you can get them from boots. They're about £17 each. And I'm back to see the physio in about a fortnight.

MadKatz · 31/08/2011 19:05

Thanks for that Gruffalo. Am booked in to see GP after MW appointment tomorrow to see what they suggest but may end up getting them from Boots then if they don't come up with any good ideas.

GruffaloMama · 31/08/2011 19:31

I got one for free from the physio before DD was born - but my other wrist got worse after she arrived so I bought the second one as I couldn't wait to see the physio. Hope it goes alright tomorrow.

MadKatz · 31/08/2011 19:52

Thanks Smile

Iwish · 31/08/2011 21:49

Yeh we had a good time thanks melly. It was nice to be away from home and spend a bit of money on ourselves.
If my MIL turns up without ringing I will not be answering the door. She can damn well wait outside!
11lb 2.5. she sounds like she is doing fab. Yey!

liz that's rubbish about the thrush. Does it bother her? Bet the smiling is so lovely. Take lots of piccies! (and put some up on here)

madkatz sorry you are having the pain. I hope you manage to get something sorted to ease the pain a bit. Bet you can't wait to finish work to relax.

Woohoo for your DD's smiles too gruff you also need to get some piccies up on here! I hope your physio can sort your hands out. Glad your SPD is easing tho.

Hope you are ok klou!

Went to physio this morning and all they really did was give me leaflets and a very large tubigrip. Said that there wasn't much they could do as I'm so near the end, said I should have come earlier and it would have been more beneficial. Angry well I would have come earlier except my GP failed to believe SPD exists so I moaned to midwife a few weeks later at my next appt who immediately referred me (she seemed to think the GP was a tit - true) and it was then 2 months waiting for an appt!!! So I couldn't have got in any sooner than I did Angry

Feet are massively swollen too which is crappy. My ankles are that bad Im struggling to bend :(

2 days left to work!! Grin
