Evening Ladies,

Only just got back from maternity! no movement at all from when I drank the iced water this afternoon so got home just after 5 and phoned maternity triage who said go in. DH drove me in and we were in the waiting room for over an hour! Sods law while we were there I had one kick at 7pm then another just as I got on the bed at 7.15. All the normal prodding then monitoring. Was interesting to see as first time, confusing though as a lot of the big movements shown on the read-out I didn't feel at all. Started to feel a few after a while though, MW happy so sent me home. Said to keep an eye on it over the next 24 hours as if it happens again they'll have me in for a scan.

Little bugger!!!

Lol Melly re the white blob Grin

Sounds like Euan's being a dream Klou

Iwish · 18/08/2011 21:45

klou he sounds like such a lovely little baby! I hope my little man sleeps as well! Hope you have a lovely weekend :)

madkatz glad everything went ok at the hospital. Sods law little one started wriggling just before you went in! When they had me in last week they asked if I'd felt him move that morning which I hadn't and as soon as I got on the bed at the hospital he was like a mad child lol! I think they 'just know' Grin

MadKatz · 19/08/2011 13:58

Yeah I reckon they do Iwish Hmm

lizandlulu · 19/08/2011 15:23

thats good news madkatz better to be on the safe side and pt your ind at rest.

klou enjoy your weekend with your in laws.

have a nice weekend the rest of youSmile

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 19/08/2011 20:05

Hello everyone, happy friday! Although it hasn't been for us, simons dads caravan has been nicked, our washing machine has broke, and we just drove 115 miles to a garage that apparantly doesnt exsist Angry to look at a new car. We basically drove all that way for mcdonalds Hmm. Just on our way home now.

madkatz thats great news, naughty little baby! :o

klou euan sounds like a fabulous sleeper, is he good through the day aswell? Have a good weekend with your in laws!

iwish how are your feet doing, any better or still swollen?

liz i think you're brilliant, managing to look after yourself, lulu and violet. I barely manage to look after myself aswell as poppy :o same goes for you aswell gruff, i don't know how you do it!

Iwish · 20/08/2011 13:21

melly that sounds like a nightmare!! Did someone just make this place up? 115 miles is a long way for mac donalds lol. That's rubbish about the washing machine and caravan too. Not what you need now!
My feet havnt been as bad recently (woohoo) stlill a little swollen but dont look as much like elephants as they did.

Well I didn't get out of bed till 11:50 today. I wouldn't say I had a great sleep tho. Our friends left at 12:00 last night so we went bed at about 12:30. I had 7 wees between 2:30am and when I got out of bed. AND nick snored all night so you can imagine the kicks and shouting Grin. Likkle man decided that 4:30 am was a nice time to have a little party too!
Anyhow, enough of my moaning. We are going to buy a camera today!! I'm so excited and I want to get one to take as many piccies of my little boy as poss yippee!

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 20/08/2011 15:48

I don't know iwish, simon found the car on autotrader, rang them up and said we were coming. Then when we got there the satnav just went 'you have reached your destination' and there wasn't even anything there on that road! Tried ringing them and no answer. Poppy was good as gold though, i had to wake her up to feed her when we got to mcdonalds!
That's good about your feet, lets hope they keep going down! Hows the spd aswell? 7 wees!? Wow. And i thought i had a crappy nights sleep. Poppy was up every 2 hours!

Oh something else that happened yesterday aswell, my mum announced she's staying in america for another 4 weeks :( She was meant to be back tomorrow.

Have a good weekend all x

Iwish · 20/08/2011 20:21

The SPD is awful melly. That's another thing waking me up at night, I'll get up for a wee, go to sleep then wake up in pain a little while later. Just keep telling myself that he's worth it tho. Grin
hmmm how very strange re the car. Sounds like a right con artist.. And :( about your mum. When did she go to America?

Well camera purchased now so im a happy bunny. We also bought some new curtains (not v exciting a know lol)
I've been taking some pics of DP testing my camera hehe. Hes not impressed.

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 20/08/2011 22:28

Lol just remember to pack it in your hospital bag asap, and the charger/spare batteries, whichever it needs!

I hope your SPD goes away after he's born. I hate to scare you but my sister had it with both of her kids, and with number 2 it was awful, she could barely walk, she had to go on sick from work (bus driving) at 22 weeks till her M leave started. Her youngest is 2.5 now and sister still has problems with her hips.

My mum went on 23rd july, she was meant to be back tuesday, not tomorrow lol. She won't be back now till 18th september!! She'll have missed 8 weeks of Poppys life :(

God only knows about the car. Don't really see how it could be a con though. Maybe we just put the wrong postcode in. Oh well, just have to find another one! It's not like it's a rare car simon wants, a vauxhall vectra. The one we were meant to look at yesterday had a posh cream and black leather interior, built in satnav, all electric windows and cruise control, that's why we went so far away!

KLou111 · 21/08/2011 09:32

Hi all!!

How crap Melly what a waste of time!! Hope the McD's was good though lol!!!
Sorry about your mum staying away, she's obviously having a good time!! :( that she'll miss so much of Poppy though. My mum and dad only went back Wednesday, and they're missing him already so much. They're on skype so will have to join that. Do you skype your mum while she's away??

Glad you got your camera Iwish it will be great to have for the little one. I am the 'pap' here lol as I take photos of EVERYTHING!!

Madkatz glad all is well in there and bubs wriggling again :)

How are you LIz and Gruff

All OK here. Bit tired yesterday as Euan was a bit grizzly all day and just wanted to feed every 2 hours. I had almost 12 hours sleep the night before which was fab!! I fell asleep at 8:30pm, woke to feed Euey at 10, Rob bathed him at 11:30 which knocked him out til 4:25 (scary ay, exactly a week after he was born!!!) fed him, and had to wake him at 9:30!
Think he was making up for his feeds yesterday!!

Must dash, in laws back at 10:30 :) xxx

lizandlulu · 21/08/2011 20:20

evening all, how are you all?

melly shame aobut all your bad luck! at least you can get a washing machine from gainsborough co-opGrin

klou my baby was awake at the exact time she was born too!! freakyGrin glad its all going well for you and your dh is pulling his weightSmile

iwish 7 weesShock that must be awful for you. its not like you are getting much sleep is it.

well we have been racing for the weekend, sleeping in the horsebox (with me on the lower bad after last times panicGrin
have managed to keep the baby aliveGrin i just had to be extra organised with the kettle, flask and steriliser cause they only worked when the generator was on so had to make sure everything was set for the night time.
just got home and am exhausted!"!

lizandlulu · 21/08/2011 20:52

oh and i forgot to tell you, when the midwife came on monday, she decided to tell me, 4 weeks too late, that kings mill hopsital which is about 25 miles away from us, has the lowest cesarian rates in the uk and has consultants who are experienced in breech vaginal deliveriesShock so i might have been able to go there and deliver her vaginally without having to go through the c section! whyever didnt she tell me this at 32 weeks when we found out she was still breech?????

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 21/08/2011 21:26

Yes we skype klou when mums here we go out for tea every tuesday at 4. We stick to that. So every tuesday at 4, me and poppy go to my sisters to chat to mum. It's 8am where she is when it's 4pm our time :o 8hrs behind us!
What do your in laws think to him then? Is he the first GC on your DHs side? Freaky re the time thing! Hows the BFing going? Has he come off midflow and been squirted in the face yet? Poppy does this all the time, you'd think at the grand old age of 9 weeks Shock that she would've learnt not to do that! :o

Thats a bugger liz about the hospital! Bet you're well peed off! You sound like you were well organized re violets bottles! And tbh, think we will go elsewhere for a washer, co-op is where the people with money tend to shop lol!

Simons got 5 days left at work then he's taking a week off, and we're going car shopping! Can't wait :)

GruffaloMama · 22/08/2011 13:33

Hi all

Klou - so happy you're happy and enjoying mummy-dom - it is great. Sorry you're still sore though - have you tried lavender oil and tea tree oil in your bath water?

I'm enjoying life with two, although after taking DS to the park where he pooed (massively) in his pants and I had to rinse them out when I got home I reserve the right to moan a bit... Toilet training is going well for wees but badly for poos. Which, let's face it, is the least appealing part of nappy changing... DD is a love - still gaining weight (though I haven't weighed her but I can see her filling out and growing). She's up a couple of times at night but feeds are getting shorter and she's pretty good at going back to sleep afterwards. DH on the other hand is being a total PITA. He hurt himself playing football last week and then got bitten by a bug at the weekend. He reacts badly to insect bites and his foot swelled up. Now I am genuinely sympathetic but he is such a complete grouch when he's injured and he expects me to run around after him to the exclusion of everything else. I bathed the fecking foot with savlon (and feet turn my stomach at the best of times), got him ice for it, got him drinks/remote controls, spent all day running back and forward to the loo with DS and feeding DD. He spent all day snapping at me and the kids and ignoring my advice about what to do (go see the minor injuries people and get some antihistamines, take pain killers etc). And then when he finally caved the nurse at minor injuries told him exactly what I said. He was then a nightmare when i was trying to put DS to bed and stropped off to bed on his own at 8pm. He still wasn't talking to me this morning as apparently 'I made yesterday really difficult for him'. Thank god he's at work or we would have had the mother and father of all rows.

Melly sorry about your run of bad luck. The washing machine thing is a nightmare. Hope you find a car somewhere nearby next time!

Iwish the SPD is vile isn't it? Mine has got a lot better since having had DD, especially the pain at the front. I'm still having hip pain though so might go back to my physio to find out if there's anything I can do to make it better.

Madkatz - glad all was well with baby - it must have been terrifying. Big hugs.

gotta go - someone needs a feed.

GruffaloMama · 22/08/2011 13:54

Back - sorry - liz - can't believe that the MW didn't tell you that! How is the scar now?

lizandlulu · 22/08/2011 21:51

gruffalo its still abit sore but nothing like it was, it hasnt leaked for about a week either. it does still feel moist from where my belly hangs over it all the time, it cant really get any air (lovely i know) but it does seem to be getting better thank you.
its abit crappy of your dh to be like that with you, some men really just dont get it do they? although i have a friend with 3 kids and her dh got up every night with the kids, every time they got up untill he was so knackered he had to get her up. i think thats just abit odd tho seeing as he had a full time job to do in the day too, makes me think she is just a little lazyGrin

and good luck with the potty training. i lift it quite late to do lulu, think she was about 3 but she was dry fairly quick, i was lucky, she never had any issues with poos or toilets or anything like that. fingers crossed you get him pooing in the toilet soonSmile

i am thinking of putting violet in our room when she is settled for the night. i mean instead of keeping her in the living room with us where the lighs and telly on, put her in her basket in our room. might help her learn the difference between night and day?

lizandlulu · 23/08/2011 21:38

well i feel like sodding superwoman today!

i have done 8, yes 8 loads of washing betwenn yesterday and today, all clothes from the weekend and towels etc, plus took lulu and a friend to the cinema, had to take violet too and had her wedged between me and lulu in her car seat on the floor!! good job it was a kids film we went to seeGrin

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 24/08/2011 09:33

Woo liz go you! I can imagine your house looks like a laundrette right now :o
I would try that with violet, anythings worth a go right? You never know, there might end up being a drastic improvement!
I would like to try that with poppy but from 7pm on wards she constantly feeds till about half 9-10ish. I think she does this to prepare herself till 4am lol :o

Good luck on the toilet training gruff, hopefully he'll crack it soon! How old is he? Your DH sounds like he's been very helpful Hmm not. You should just refuse to wait on him hand and foot, then see what he does :o

Iwish · 24/08/2011 19:31

gruff the SPD is indeed vile. Luckily I have my first physio appt next week so hope they can help me. I'm glad you are enjoying life with your 2 little ones. Bet it's lovely to have the 2 of them together. I hope you can get the remainder of your SPD sorted too. it's probably the last thing you need when looking after DD and DS!

melly how are you and poppy? Bet you are looking forward to car shopping and spending time with Simon.

Flippin eck liz you are like superwoman lol!! That is a lot to do!!

klou and madkatz hope you are both ok.

Well I've been in the hospital today. I went for my usual midwife appt and when she was listening to little mans heartrate it was a bit too fast again, it went up to almost 200!! So off they sent me to the antenatal day unit to be monitored. (when I went 2 weeks ago as it was up to 179.)
Well this time they hooked the monitor up and listened to bubba. After about an hour they decided that they were happy with him. They then decided they didn't like the look of my extremely swollen feet (they look like elephants) so they did another urine test and bp which were fine. They were also concerned that my tummy looks v big so decided I should have a growth scan to check baby and waters!
Anyhow... Baby is measuring spot on and waters aren't too bad but there is quite a lot so could explain the big belly! They want to see me again next Friday at the day unit to check all is well.
It's so good that they are so thorough, I came out feeling v well looked after.

Sorry about the essay ladies!!

lizandlulu · 24/08/2011 19:53

iwish it IS good that they are looking after you, at least they notice things without having to be told.

melly i managed to get most of it dried outside so not too badSmile lulu goes back to school on the 6th of september (and counting down the days!) do you wnat ot meet up in gainsborough? i know i said that before, but never made the time.

today hasnt been all that good, violet has spent most of the afternoon either dozing or crying, not liek her, she hasnt had her usual long sleep. i just bathed her in am attempt to soothe her which seemed to do the trick as hses now fast on in her basket. dont knwo if its her belly whats upsetting her of what. she did do 2 big poo's earlier and thought that would have cleared her out.

oh and picked up some of the pics i ordered of when i had the professional photos done and they have chopped off part of the babys head in one. when i ordered them the woman said they were an awkward size but they should be ok, and i ordered 2 canvases, one being the same picture, if that turns up not righti will not be having it! i dont mind the photos as it was only 66p, but the canvases were £75 and she did say she would tell them not to 'wrap' it whatever that means.

Iwish · 24/08/2011 20:13

liz it's just such a shame I can't have the baby at that hospital. They have shut the labour and delivery wards there :(
Sorry violet has had a bad day. Hopefully her night will be better as she might have tired herself out.
Do you get to see the can as before you pay? If you aren't happy with it don't pay like you said :)

Do has just cone home and had a bit of a shouting outburst where he has decided that I have to finish work either today or Friday instead of next Friday. He says I'm doing too much by going to work! I only sit at a desk but he said it's the not sleeping and then getting up early and going to work. Bless him he means well but I think it's too early finishing now.

Iwish · 24/08/2011 20:13

That was supposed to be 'DP has COME home.' stupid phone

lizandlulu · 24/08/2011 21:21

iwish do you have the choice aobut when you finish? if you finished work 1 week earlier, would you have to go back 1 week earlier? personallyi wouldnt go to work while pregnant if i could help it. but each to their own. me and chris often argue about this sort of thing, he doesnt want me to go back to work at all, buti like my job and like payday tooGrin

and i have already paid for the canvas, but they are quite good in the shop as i have been going in there since lulu was born and they will have to do it again or i will demand my money back [assertive face] Grin

Iwish · 24/08/2011 21:28

Erm I'm not sure. I wouldn't have to back earlier but my pay would finish 1 week earlier I think. It would also only give me 2 days to hand over all my work so don't really fancy stressing about it. I feel ok myself just have fat feet and am a bit tired lol.
If DP said he didn't want me going back to work at all and we had enough money I would def stay at home lol!

Haha yeh you use your most assertive voice and tell them! When you get it you should put a pic up so we can have a nosey. Bet it's a lovely pic. :)

KLou111 · 25/08/2011 11:20

Ah how sweet of your DH Iwish bless him. I bet he can't wait now :) Not long to go!! Doesn't seem 5 mins since you and Madkatz got your BFP's!!!!

Hope Violet OK Liz and feeling a bit better :)

All OK here. Going to register our little man today Grin so he will officially be here lol!
HV here to weigh Euan and do all the checks etc tomorrow. Seriously need to speak to her about contraception, as although I am still ever so slightly sore, I am dying to jump on DH again LMAO!!!
Even though we've had the baby number 2 talk, we've both said we would hate for him or her to be an accident, even though we'd be thrilled, but I am BF anyway, so chances are all would be OK in that department, but you never know.

Hope you're all OK x
