Aww poor poppy!! And poor you melly.

Liz and gruff hope you are both ok.

klou hope you are getting on ok with your little man.

Been to my friends today and had some cuddles with her 7 week old baby girl. She is so lovely. Shattered now tho and I was only out the house 5 hours!
7 weeks to go now Grin

KLou111 · 15/08/2011 20:27

Quickly checking in, need to read back so apologise for the selfish post!

Euan James Gameson is doing fab. (James is DH middle name, he wasn't bothered about using his middle name until he got here, now he's totally in awe of his new son :) )
Got home midday yesterday.
Feeding very well, no shortage of milk my end, I've changed 5 times today!! And have 3 pads on each side!!
Euan sleeping like a log at the mo, and only woke once in the night, at 3:30am, for nappy change and feed, back down at 4am, we had to wake him at 8:30am!!
Love him to bits, best thing we EVER did.
Parents are still around, and have been a god send, mum been helping with feeding etc, and checked my stitches as feeling sore but all OK.
Dad been keeping DH company in the meantime.
Love love love LOVE being a mum!!!!!!!

Awww klou I'm so glad you are enjoying being a mummy. He sounds like a little dream sleeping all that time and only waking once. Can't wait to see pics of him.
Hope you enjoy time with him having lots of lovely cuddles xx

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 15/08/2011 20:44

liz we did attempt a routine, but she doesn't like being alone, so she just stays downstairs with us till about 9, then she goes to sleep about 10ish, then till 4ish, then till 7ish.
Wow violets just piling it on isn't she!? At least she is putting weight on, what with her playing about with her food :o That's really good!

Poppy is extremely grumpy this evening, she had a bath and loved it, splashing and kicking, took her out and cue mahooosive screaming fit! She's snoozing on simon at the mo.

iwish do you feel like the time is going fast, or really slow? I can't believe you only have 7 weeks to go already!

gruff your DD is young enough to still claim baby brain :o

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 15/08/2011 20:56

Oh klou that's brilliant, what a good little sleeper he is! I can't wait to see some piccies! Have DHs parents seen him yet? I bet your parents are totally smitten :) so glad you're all ok and coping ok!

Iwish · 15/08/2011 20:59

Erm im still wishing the time away but I suppose the last few weeks have gone quick. I just can't wait to finish work, getting really tired going to work now since I'm just not sleeping.
Have you taken her swimming? Bet she would love to go to the swimming baths if she loves the bath.

I have just received the gym ball I ordered off eBay. Had a little go on it and it's quite nice to sit on Grin

lizandlulu · 15/08/2011 21:11

wow klou ONCE in the night??? do you want to swap?Grin all your milk sounds very healthySmile can you pump some off and store it?

iwish the time will jsut fly, you wait till your baby comes and you will think so too. honestSmile

melly just one more question! whats your stomach like 7 weeks on? mine is stil lquite large around the bottom of it, the top area of my stomach seems to be normal, but the bottom doesnt seem to be going anywhere. i am 6 lb heavier than when i first got pg, which i thought was quite good. i lost about 2 stone in the frst 2 weeks, must have just been fluid and crap, but am just wondering if my stomach is going to go back on its own accord, or if i will have to diet?

KLou111 · 15/08/2011 21:13

piccies up x

I said about pumping it off Liz to my mum, but she said it should settle a bit, and if I pumped it off, I'd just get more and more. They are just running, I don't think I need a pump lol!! Like mother like daughter, my mum used to feed the special care unit when she had us LMAO!!

ahh klou hes gorgeous!!! very like you i think. he looks tinySmile

melly ment to say, i think that when we started a bedtime routine with lulu, she was months old rather than weeks. we was living at mum and dads house at the time and had her cot in our bedroom, and i do remember putting her to bed and going to bed myself, so that she could see me as she didnt like it when i left her, but i dont know how i managed to get out of that. when she was 9 months old i could put her to bed in her own room in her cot and shut the dorr, no light or anything and she would settle and sleep within 10 mins.
(then had to move back with mum and dad and all that went out the window and even now i have to stay with her till shes asleep. i wont be making that mistake againGrin)

lizandlulu · 15/08/2011 21:22

klou cross post, yes that makes sense, the more your body thinks it needs the more it will make i suppose

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 15/08/2011 21:58

Ohh klou he's gorgeous! You both must be so proud! He's got a good lot of hair aswell which is so cute! I'm glad the feedings going well. X

liz my belly is flatter than it used to be, but saggier. I think all my fat has just been stretched out and is staying stretched and saggy. There is a lovely pic of my belly 2 weeks after on my profile. I will take one of it now if you want so you can see the difference. Will put it up tomorrow. RE routines, it's silly trying to get poppy into one because she is BF so you don't know how much she is taking, and she just feeds whenever really. And besides, i'm shite at routines :o

lizandlulu · 16/08/2011 08:46

morning all

melly i know what you mean about routines, this baby is just doing whatever she wants, whenever she wants it.i cant imagine how we are going to get her into anykind of routine. i must be able to do it cause lulu knows the difference between night and day, but i just cant imagine how!

well last night wasnt very good, she woke up at about half 8 and stayed awake till half 1, i was dying to go to sleep by then, then she had a bottle and brought most of it back up, so she was hungry again. eventually went to sleep, then woke at 4 ish, and half 6. she didnt want a bottle at half 6 tho and just seemed really unsettled still half 7 when she had some milk and went back to sleep.

i am wondering if she has reflux. she seems very fussy during feeds, often cries out in pain (or what it seems like) and brings quite alot back up at most feeds.

also dont know if to try her on hungry baby milk, she never seems satisfied and when she has had as much as she wants and i try and wind her, she will still suck my arm or any part of me thats near her mouth. so i often end up making her another bottle and she will have more.

(sorry if its jumbles, my mind isnt thinking very straight and have got a day of 2 kids ahead of meSad)!

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 16/08/2011 20:37

We kind of have a routine going on, what with the sleeping from 10pm(ish) til 4am(ish) til 7am(ish) till about 10am(ish) lol. But that's it as far as our routine goes! I haven't a clue about feeding though liz maybe ask your MW or HV?

lizandlulu · 17/08/2011 08:18

morning
melly i have been dishcarged from the midwife! she came on monday and said there was no need for her to keep coming, so discharged me. still got the health visitor coming toy, shes coming on thursday so will ask her about it.

going to the docs this morning, i had a letter saying i need further treatment after the results of my wound swab came back. dont know what tho.

klou how are you feeling? are you still knackered? hows the stitches?

KLou111 · 17/08/2011 20:10

Hi all. Currently sitting with little Euan on my lap while his daddy has a shower. He is the best thing ever, being a mum is fab, love him so much. Slept well again last night, Euan was up with Rob til 12.30ish and when he put him to bed Euan started to grizzle so gave him a feed and up again at 5.20, then woke at 8.15. Been feeding really well. Mw been out today and all ok. Mum and dad left today, I couldn't stop blubbing.
Got day off tomorrow and Robs parents here Fri Sat Sun.
Hope you're all ok, will read back tomorrow x

So glad you're loving being a mum klou, it really is amazing isn't it? I still find it totally bizarre how poppy started out as a blob of white goo :o and then grew inside me, everyday i look at her and think "omg. I did that!".
Wow sounds like he's a brill sleeper! Bet your ILs can't wait to meet him. Is he the first GC on your DHs side too? What do bali and bella think to him then?

liz i wasn't sure how it worked if you have a c-section, that's why i said mw or hv. I got discharged from mw when poppy was just 12 days old. I really hope everythings okay with your scar and whatever it is isn't too serious! Good luck!

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 17/08/2011 22:28

I'd love to know where gruff, madkatz and iwish are though. They haven't been on for days!

MadKatz · 18/08/2011 07:07

I'm here Melly!

Sorry I haven't been on for a while, works been manic and I've just been crashing when I get home in the evenings. Really feeling the tiredness now.

My parents are coming up this weekend, the last time we will see them before baby gets here. Looking forward to all the goodies their bringing!

Have washed all our 'donations' this week - we have been so lucky, have had both boys and girls clothes given us by various friends and it took 5 loads in the washing machine!!

Should have the nursery curtains finished today, then I'll put some pics up.

x

lizandlulu · 18/08/2011 11:03

klou all sounds good! i am glad everythings going so weel and feeding is good.

madkatz you must have some great friends, 5 loads of washing!!! will last you for a while.
have a lovely time with your parents, how long do you have left? are they coming once you have had the baby?

MadKatz · 18/08/2011 12:44

4 Full weeks left in work and then 3 weeks before baby is here if s/he's on time!!!!

Not long now and I can't wait Grin 33wk checkup with MW this afternoon

MadKatz · 18/08/2011 16:37

Everything fine with MW apart from when I said I hadn't felt any movements this morning she said drink a pint of iced water as cold as I could take it and if no reaction within an hour / hour and a half speak to triage about going in for monitoring.
Drank the water 35 minutes ago and no reaction, whereas before now has been an almost instant kick with cold drinks. Told DH we would go if necessary wehn he gets home at 5.15. Confused Sad

lizandlulu · 18/08/2011 17:08

try not to worry madkatz s/he is probably just having a lazy day and dont want to be disturbedSmile keep us informed if you do go to be monitored.

Iwish · 18/08/2011 19:31

Hi ladies. I'm still here! Been v fired this week, went bsack to work on Tuesday after 6 days off.

klou he is so gorgeous! Bet you can't stop staring at him. Fab that he's such a good sleeper too.

madkatz did your little one move for you or have you gone in? My little one has the odd day when he's either sleeping or quiet because he's having a growth spurt hehe. I bet your little one is just resting and will probably wake you up at 3am wriggling like mad lol.

melly Grin at White blob!!! She a lovely ex-White blob lol!

liz how did you get on at the docs?

gruff how are you and little miss?

I can't wait to finish work!!! I am sick of now sleeping and still going to work! I'm so tired, have headache and have started feeling a little sicky the last 2 days, a bit like I did when I was first pg.
On a nice note DP has booked us a night in a hotel for the bank holiday weekend not far from his dads in Wales. A last little get away before Likkle one arrives :)

KLou111 · 18/08/2011 20:55

Hi all

Hope the docs goes ok Liz sorry your war wound not healing great. How's little Violet? Any more poo explosions lol!!

Hope everything OK in there Madkatz, I used to put an ice cube on my belly if drinking something cold didn't work. When I went in for monitoring, the baby was moving, I just wasn't feeling him as he was facing the wrong way. Let us know how you get on.
Hope you have a fab time with your parents :)

Melly LMAO at white blob!!! Very true, I keep telling Euan how clever he was to get there first and what a good little swimmer he is :)

All OK here. Took Euan to the beach for the first time today with the dogs, was brilliant!! So nice to get out and about. We went into town on Tuesday, which was our first outing, and he slept through the whole thing. I wasn't allowed to push the pram lol, Rob was a very proud daddy, but I pushed it today :)
Still being lucky with the sleeping thing. Rob let me sleep last night rather than wake me for a feed for Euan before he put him to bed (when I say he's 'up' with Rob, he not actually awake, just Rob snuggling him and having his daddy time :) ) so he was up for feeds at 2:20 and 5:20 after his last feed at 10 last night. Then we had to wake him at 10 this morning!! Will feed him before bed tonight though so he doesn't wake twice.
Rob is currently looking at schools lol, as our neighbour has said put his name down now due to space. Hadn't even thought about it TBH!!!
Oh, and baby number 2 has already been mentioned ha ha ha!!!!!

My 'wound' still stinging when I go for the loo. Stitch has now gone, but still sore while it heals up. Hope it's not too much longer.
Weighed myself this morning, I've lost 4lbs since Euan was born, I'm still a stone heavier, but am very chuffed with that.

Anyway, enough chat from me, may not be on for a few days as have the inlaws coming tomorrow til Monday.
Have fab weekends all and hope everything OK xxxxx
