Oh cool, what is it that you do? 5 1/2 weeks left!? That's gone fast! Due beginning of october aren't you? Do you feel like the time is whooshing by or dragging? I tell you what, i wish i could work from home, don't think my boss would be too happy if i brought all the kids dirty pots and the dishwasher home :o

Iwish · 10/08/2011 17:57

Wow melly it is all going on! I wonder where on earth he has got £2000 figure from!!?? Have you been to any more exciting classes lately?

5 1/2 weeks madkatz bet you can't wait. i have 3 weeks left. Not going back to work this week.

Went to the hospital and was monitored for the while and was sent home. They are happy with little mans heart rate after the monitoring and although my bp was a tad on the high side it's a lot better than this mornings readings. My boss has told me to stay home for a couple of days and I have holidays booked for Friday and Monday so I don't go back till Tuesday. Lots of time for resting.
Still got a flippin headache. It started Monday and is still here now :(

KLou111 · 10/08/2011 18:30

Hope Simons dad sorts himself out Melly, very strange!!! Shame if he misses out on Poppy though :(

It is a nice bouncer, suede feeling one. Was £10 off last week too, but think my brother missed that! He also bought us a Fisher price rainforest playmat thing, but we've already got a mat (even though that one was better lol) but he said he'd get bubs something else once here. Spoilt kid!!
Due tomorrow, got MW in the afternoon, so hoping she can do something to get this baby OUT! Can't sleep, back killing all night, can't get comfy cos baby in awkward position, so hoping she can do something sooner rather than later.
Have just done a 2 week shop with Tesco, being delivered in the morning, so hoping bubs comes and makes me miss my delivery :)
Had final AN class this morning, was a bit longer than normal, going through all the stuff after baby is born, jabs, registering the birth, bathing baby, changing baby etc etc.
Also went and had my hair cut, thought had better as will be my last chance!

Glad all OK Iwish, nice that you have a week off now :) Sorry about your headache, have you taken some paracetamol?

5.5 weeks, wow Madkatz that's come quickly!!

Melly I work as the only a receptionist/administrator for a building contractor but I might as well be a general dogsbody!!! Lots of people there panicking cos they don't how the office will run without me! It has come round quick KLou but I am looking forward to the time off, but more to the point really looking forward to meeting our little one Smile

Glad little one is ok Iwish and that you're home. Take some parrots for your head x

lizandlulu · 10/08/2011 21:00

glad everythings ok iwish what a relief

melly dont stress yourself out about simons dad. familys are rubbish sometimesSad

klou i didnt think you would last this long and not pop before now. at least you are all ready for it. i cant wait to find out what flavour you getGrin voilet likes being in her bouncer, well likes is abit strong a word, but its handy to have it to put her in when she is awake, just somewhere different to her moses basket. just wondering, where were you going to put the baby in the day when its alseep if you didnt have a moses basket? if you were going to put it in its cot, wouldnt you spend all your day in there with it?

madkatz i did alot of the paperwork for our business and no one else can do it. now people(read mum and dad) have decided that i have recovered enough, i have started to get work brought to me! just abit of paperwork here and there, but its just another hassle i could do without!

GruffaloMama · 10/08/2011 22:38

Blimey Liz - getting work brought back is a bit much! I'm half hoping I get laid off while I'm on mat leave. Our place has quite good redundancy pay so it wouldn't be the end of the world and my job was such a PITA before I left that I wouldn't miss it at all.

Klou I hope the midwife can get you going - it can't be long now... I use a little bounce/rocker seat for DD when she's asleep in the day - it reclines well so she sleeps nicely in it. She'd gained 13 ounces when the HV came this week - so is now 10lb12 at 2 weeks - she had lost about 3oz when they measured her at 5 days. She's funny with eating - she'll have a really hungry day and then a quieter one. BTW Liz I meant to say that DD will root and latch onto anything and anyone. Including her wrist, trying to get my mum's boobs and DH's nose. She'd probably suckle on the cat given half a chance.

Melly - sorry about Simon's dad. Hope it all works out ok. things like that are so stressful.

Iwish - so glad the BP came down and all is well. Hopefully your headache's gone now too. Madkatz finishing work is great - you just have to not worry about it when you leave!

MadKatz · 11/08/2011 07:02

I know what you mean Gruffalo about not worrying when i leave. I am such a conscientious person I think I am going to find it really hard to let go, it's bad enough handing over when I've been on holiday in the past!

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 11/08/2011 10:35

Happy due day klou! You should be allowed to have a sweep now if you want one! Hopefully it will send you into labour! How big is your bump now?

Well madkatz hopefully everyone else at your work will pull their fingers out and their socks up so by the time you go back you will only have your share of work to do, if you see what i mean?

So glad everythings ok iwish! How's the headache?

gruffalo i also know exactly what you mean about worrying about work, our kitchen is horribly understaffed, I left 1 person (a 64 year old man) to do a 3 person job! Found out someone walked out a few weeks ago too. There used to be 13 of us, now there's 8!

liz if i were you i'd refuse to do it, you have far to much to do what with trying to entertain a 5yr old and look after a small baby. Not to mention any housework that needs doing!

I really hope it all does get sorted with simons dad. Probably won't though. He's being a complete twunt about everything! He wants simons mum to sell her house (which she bought with her own money!) and give him half. Even though she's said she will sign over her half of their rented out property to him. I don't think the word 'family' means much anymore :(

On a lighter note, poppy smiles properly now, she's been doing it a few days, it's so cute! :)

Sorry for the long post. I hope no-one died of boredom from reading it :o

KLou111 · 11/08/2011 10:54

Lmao twunt melly not heard that before, must use it lol!!! Thank for the happy d day. Rang mw last night and got through to the ward and they said a sweep can ne offered at term, so here's hoping she can do this aft as I'm her last appt aswell.

Liz how rude of them to give you work!! I'd tell them to go jump!!
I got a Moses basket in the end so bubs can go in there :)

Received some baby books this morning I got off amazon, very cute. Just black and white soft ones with a mirror. One is family and one is farm animals.
Can hang them from wherever they are sitting, whether pram, cot, basket etc.

Glad all ok with you and Florence, gruff hope you do get laid off if that's good for you!!

Have just spent the last hour defrosting our frost free freezer, shit thing, but first time since we got it Dec 09 so suppose not too bad lol! Got 2 weeks of Tesco shop coming in a bit just in case :)

Have a fab day all and will check in later x x

lizandlulu · 11/08/2011 14:41

ohh klou exciting lives we lead hey!! at least if its done then you wont have to do it when the baby comes

gruffalo you made me laugh with your dd trying to latch on to anythingGrin i cant remember lulu being like this, i know she did for a hsort time, but not for as long as this. my little madam was awake on and off between 1 and 5 this morning with chris only waking up when she was making exorcist sounds being sick!!

seriously, she is quite a sicky baby, i cant put her down straight after having a feed as it comes straight back up again, so have to try and wind her for ages and she wont bring her wind up

KLou111 · 11/08/2011 18:37

lol Liz exorcist!!!

Well, been to MW, offered me a sweep, did all the normal checks, then told me (just before she was going to do sweep) that our local hospital called her just before my appointment to tell her that the labour ward was FULL, and if I had a sweep, and it worked, there was a chance I would have to go to Swansea 30 mins away (ugh! bigger hospital, not interested!) or Aberystwyth about 45-60 mins away!!! (no clue about that hospital). So anyway, DH and I just looked at each other and said no.
We've already been 'warned' August is a busy month so will just have to bear with. MW coming to our house tomorrow, or over the weekend to do the sweep instead, but who's to say the ward isn't full anyway when I go into labour????
Anyway, has left me a bit deflated and pissed off to a point where DH snapped at me earlier about something neither of us can even remember and I just burst into tears about an hour later and I said he didn't love me anymore etc etc blah blah, and he gave me the loveliest cuddle, and said he was sorry, and he was sick of all the waiting too, and just wants the baby here as much as me.
God this is so hard!

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 11/08/2011 19:12

i was told august was a busy month too, must be something to do with the previous festive period?

that day i had to go to the hospital when violet was born ,there was 15 other women there which is alot for them.

just hope that all these women have short easy labours to make room for you when the time comes.

GruffaloMama · 11/08/2011 19:20

Our hospital seems constantly busy at the moment. It is worrying but try not to let it bother you - even if the sweep works the chances are that the labour will take a while to start so you can phone through to the labour ward to find out how busy they are before it gets critical. And they'll be less busy at the weekend because they tend not to do inductions on a Friday - so good if the MW can do your sweep tomorrow.

KLou111 · 11/08/2011 21:49

Hope so Gruff, will give them a ring tomorrow as I really want the sweep, will just feel as if something is being started, even if it doesn't work!
Have just put full term bump piccies up, will be PISSED if I get any stretch marks now I've got this far!!!

OP posts:
KLou111 · 12/08/2011 18:14

Been having pains low down every 3-7 mins since 1.36pm, mw been out and am 1cm with bulging waters so not far off popping, said she could've done it with her finger but gave me a slight sweep instead. Am in the latent phase so could be quick, could be up to 48 hrs maybe longer, but at least its started :)
Can't wait to find out our flavour and meet bubs.

OP posts:
Iwish · 12/08/2011 18:52

Oooh klou that's so exciting!! I can't wait to know the flavour of your little one. lol. Hope it happens soon for you! Grin looks like your little one was waiting till you finished your antenatal classes and got some shopping in lol!!

How are you getting on with Violet Liz? did she sleep better last night? And how is your scar?

melly how are you? You will have to put a pic up of poppy smiling. Bet it's so lovely Watching her smiling away.

gruff how are you doing? Glad your DS I'd loving your DD. He will be so protective and look after her.

madkatz hope everyone at your work pulls their fingers out of their ass so you can leave work without worrying what's happens.

Well my headache went yesterday. I didn't take any paracetamol but I used that 4head stuff that you roll on your head. That worked for a little while.
Car is fixed too so that's 1 less stress. Also booked a tour of the hospital we will be having the baby (although we got a run there on Wednesday for monitoring).
Got to go back to midwife on Wednesday for another blood pressure check. Hope it's ok and hope bubs heartrate is ok this time too.

GruffaloMama · 12/08/2011 19:57

Oh Klou - brilliant news. Hope you manage to get some rest and have a good labour. Very excited for you!

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 12/08/2011 20:02

Oooh klou it's so exciting! Can't wait to find out if bubs is pink or blue :) keep us informed won't you? Good luck, and like iwish, me and popster are sending labour vibes your way!

I'm fine thank you iwish, how are you? I'm glad your heads gone and your car is sorted! I will put a few pics up of poppy when im next on the computer. She usually decides she's hungry when im on it so i end up juggling a baby and the laptop :o

lizandlulu · 12/08/2011 21:31

ohh klou its finally happening!!!!!!!!!! i hope its not too painful for youSmile

i hope your baby is abit better behaved than mineGrin she still wants feeding roughly every 2 hours. sometimes every hour when we are home. its like shes just keeping herself topped up

got to go, mid argument with chris, yet again

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 12/08/2011 22:19

I'm a little worried/confused. Just went for a wee and discovered i've started bleeding again Confused! Just wondering wtf is going on Hmm. It's our 8 week check on monday so will say something to dr.

GruffaloMama · 12/08/2011 22:56

Hi Melly - it could be your period coming back (though that would be unusual if you're exclusively breastfeeding)... I didn't get mine again until DS was 17 months but I think that is fairly long. Think you're right to check it with your Dr on monday - though if you have a lot of pain or clots or are otherwise worried I'd see about an out of hours appointment over the weekend.

KLou111 · 13/08/2011 07:09

Baby boy born at 4.25am 8lb 10oz. Good as gold, 55 mins pushing, waters exploded up mw lol. Will check back later, knackered but over the moon x x

CONGRATULATIONS KLOU!!! Oh i'm so so pleased for you! Really well done. That's a good weight isn't it? Hope you're all ok and doing well and can't wait to see some pictures! x x x

Gruffalo period was my first thought, but then i realised i didn't actually have any period pains. No pain, no clotting, no nothing, just blood Confused i'm a bit worried but i can hang on till monday.

lizandlulu · 13/08/2011 08:58

congratulations klou i am so so happy for youGrin Grin Grin i am so glad it all went well and they had space for youGrin

i would never have thought you had a over 8 pound baby in that bumpSmile have you checked for stretch marks?Grin

melly my first thought would be your period too. do you usually have period pains?

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 13/08/2011 09:05

Yes i always get period pains just before i actually start, as a kind of warning. This is why im confused considering i stopped bleeding a week and a half ago!
