Kara's had her baby!! Woohoo!!! So pleased for her GrinGrinGrin

sasamaxx · 13/06/2011 12:39

WHOO HOO Congratulations KARA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe that Kara and Barbie delivered on the same day!!!

Thornykate · 13/06/2011 12:58

Congratulations barbie reading that Kate is finally here made my eyes well up I am so glad she came of her own accord in the end!

And well done & congratulations to kara !

notoast that is so funny Grin did you ignore it & act casual?

sasa hope it's not colic Sad I dread that & hope Tegan manages to avoid it. I slept badly too but am going to have another snuggle with baby now & maybe a 2nd nap if I am lucky!

Good luck at hosp almighty and enjoy the bacon butty.... I would kill for one but am cutting out the naughty foods from today as DS3 kindly informed me that I look like I am still having a baby.

Enjoy your mat leave Lisa can't beat a good DVD when you need a rest!

ssd that pool rule is crap I think some places just try & discourage ppl.

Brain has packed in now so will catch up more later after snuggle time Smile

NurseSunshine · 13/06/2011 13:07

NoToast LOL. Sorry, but just, LOL Grin

SSD That is absolute bollocks, about the pool. I would speak to the head of the unit or whoever Top Dog is and complain very loudly about that. Totally ridiculous. Why would the MW need to lift you out anyway? And frankly, actually bending and lifting anyone out of a pool would do their backs in whether they were 7stone or 17stone.

So pleased for Kara that she's finally got baby Cara :)

(((HUGS))) Crazychick and some chocolate mousse. Don't blame you for being so fed up :(

Yay for maternity leave Lisa can't believe you left it this long!

Thorny I ignored it and hoped nobody had heard, had to stifle snorty giggles as well. But outside when I asked DP 'Did you..." he immediately said, 'you guffed'. On the plus side we agree that it didn't seem to be one of my room-evacuating stinky specials. I'm such a gas bag it's humiliating...

Kara Congratulations!

Moog72 · 13/06/2011 14:03

Prisoner ? thanks for sharing your secret - tried it myself this mornign - no luck as yet! Have also tried crry, pineapple, long walks... baby not ready yet I feel..

Knackered ? congratulations!

Barbie ? congratulations!

Saw MW today at 39+6. Baby has moved down in pelvis ? 2/5 palpable now. Still measuring small - 36 weeks but MW does not seem concerened. She will give me a sweep next Monday if I still haven't popped but I really really hope I have by then..

And congrats to Karaoff to read her thread now...

takethatlady · 13/06/2011 14:10

Grin notoast Grin

On the plus side, I'm sure you'll do much worse once they've induced you Grin

PerpetualProvocateur · 13/06/2011 14:43

Woohoo - congratulations Barbie and Kara! You two definitely deserve medals for having to wait so long. Please post details when you get the chance!

I had the strangest restless feeling last night and thought it might be a sign of imminent labour, but no symptoms really other than the loads of intense BHs I've been getting the past couple of weeks and occasional period-like crampy feelings. It was weird though as the baby was unusually still for much of yesterday and then quite active last night, as if he was also feeling restless! My due date's not until Friday, though (and I think it should actually be five days later based on when I ovulated), so I should just relax, really. Easier said than done!

AlmightyCitrus · 13/06/2011 14:56

Ooh, off for a look at Kara's thread...

Anyway, monitoring was as usual a PITA. As there is lots of fluid, it's more difficult to get to the heartbeat, however as soon as they pick up the heartbeat, junior goes for a wander and we start the great heartbeat hunt all over again. So, there is still nothing wrong with me to cause polyhydramnios, nor is there apparently anything wrong with the baby which can cause it. So it says "no known cause" on my notes. So, monitoring took twice as long, and I was laid back on a very uncomfortable chair with a midwife pressing a monitor to my belly, and my bacon butty repeating on me for an hour and a half.

Now I'm off on a prom dress hunt...again....

Joannezipan · 13/06/2011 15:14

All these babies...is it my go yet? I'm 39+4 today and more than ready for this to all kick off!

Congrats to Kara I hope she and the fabulous Mr Thrace are having some much deserved snuggles with baby Cara. And maybe a wee nap!

Almighty how annoying about the monitoring, I hate it when a nice meal makes it's self known for days...grilled peppers from last night are still repeating for me now! Glad the baby wasn't coy for any longer. What's the prom dress for?

Lisa congrats on maternity leave - it's ace!

PP I know how you feel...sigh

I'm waiting for my NCT girls to come round...as yet no takers :( I'm sure they will all come sooner or later though...or at least one of them????

jasmine51 · 13/06/2011 17:39

Jer are you having your CS tomorrow? If you are...all the best x

Update on my neighbour...it wasnt her banging on the door last night thank goodness, must have just dreamed it. Perhaps it was my stork trying to find a way in?

Congrats Kara I have no idea what the other thread is so I cant keep updated but glad you have finally got your LO.

Oh and I didnt kill anyone in Tescos by the way - no kids to annoy me and no old ladies waddling slower than me. I put my stroppy and pg face on and everyone seemed to get out of my way strangely enough.

New taste sensation of the day...but not the healthiest snack....Mr Kiplings jam tart with peanut butter on, yum.

Off to aquanatal now - perhaps I can float this baby out.....

moomin156 · 13/06/2011 18:32

Well done barbie and kara will catch up later.

TTL am glad hospital checked you out at least you won't stress about it now.

AlmightyCitrus · 13/06/2011 19:44

Prom dress is for DD1 Joannezeipan She's leaving primary in a few weeks and I wanted to get it sorted. Been hunting for weeks, found a couple she likes, but the stores only have them in blue, and she wanted black or red (took me a 60+ mile round trip and 3 different shops to find that out grrrr), so have come home and ordered a black one of the internet.
Now we're looking for shoes. This too will be difficult

moomin156 · 13/06/2011 21:12

your time will come crazy.......sending water breaking and labour vibes

Clarkiee · 13/06/2011 21:34

Hooray I've got the internet!!!!!!

Congratulations all those ladies who have had their babies !!!!!!!!!! Love the list makes it really easy to catch up.

We're home now (have been for a couple of weeks). Feeling much more positive than I was after my last post. Feeding is going fine now- a mixture of breast feeding and expressed breast milk from a bottle. I think if I'd have waited for them just to feed from my breast I'd still be visiting them in hospital now. Anyone who says you can't mix the two different types of feeding is wrong- it works for me. Girls are getting bigger Naomi is 5lb 8 oz and Ciara is 4lb 9oz. Have drawers full of beautiful clothes that have been bought as gifts and all they can fit into is 'tiny baby' baby grows from Goerge at Asda. Don't mind though baby grows are so cute. All the other shops that sell tiny baby things don't know the meaning of the word because they are all huge! Smile.

Can't wait to properly catch up xxx

Gillzz · 13/06/2011 21:55

Hi all, big congratulations to all new babies and mummys!!

Sophie is fantastic baby just eats and sleeps! finding it very tiring having 2 especially as ds pushing the boundries so much!!

Been reading up everyday on I phone just a pain to post!! Xxx

neenewps · 13/06/2011 22:20

Lovely to hear from you clarkie glad the girls are home and doing well. There is a facebook group running (secret one)... if you message milliemuffin she can add you. Would be lovely to see a picture of the girls.

Same for you too gillzz :) Hope you manage to get some rest at some point. Have you tried the mumsnet app on your iPhone?

I have just watched that Terry Pratchett documentary on BBC2. Wow, powerful stuff and had me in floods of tears. It was about assisted suicide. Very very sad..

PrisonerZero · 13/06/2011 22:39

Congratulations Barbie and knackard Grin Smile - Welcome to the world Kate and Dexter! Hope they are both doing well.

I can't find Karas thread, is it under pregnancy?

Have only skim read as am really tired but hopefully I haven't missed any more babies being born.

I think I was really lucky with my labour - my other DCs were quick to though considering I was induced so should have expected it really.

Breast feeding is going well, and even did the supermarket shopping today Shock

My one problem is after pains though - seriously I would rather have the contractions!! Every time I feed him I end up having to stop half way through and rush off to the bathroom and breathe through the after pain and it almost makes me feel like I am in labour again - they make me want to push and I end up doing a poo (was going to do a Blush but its pointless as I have no dignity left Grin) Been taking ibuprofin and paracetamol but could do with my gas and air back!

We have called him Cormac. (Barbie, we love Derry, but decided that people would shorten it to Dez and can't stand that)

I hope everyone is doing well, will have to catch up on the thread.

AlmightyCitrus · 13/06/2011 23:00
