Congrats Knackered get well soon wishes to Dexter
Congrats Barbie
Anyone else overnight? Misshoohaa?

Feeling the pressure to produce now although I'm still not at my due date and LO seems to have no intention of getting into a decent position. Nearly crippled myself last night trying to stay on my left side but was in tears with hip pains by about 3am so gave up and shifted...surprise surprise LO took precisely 5 seconds to flip back onto the right side and posterior again, little scamp.

Am feeling confused and a little worried this morning - I'm sure someone knocked on our door in the early hours this morning and about 15 minutes later an ambulance sized vehicle went past the house. I'm hoping it wasnt a girl in the village who is 6 days overdue and needed my DHs assistance because he was dead to the world and snoring loudly.

Hey ho, another day of mooching around, getting moody about all the things I cant manage and being generally tired and bored. Tescos is just about the highlight of today!

8rubberduckies · 13/06/2011 08:29

Hurray for baby Kate! So pleased that she arrived before induction day Barbie, what great news to wake up to. And lets hope Kara and Misshooha are on their way to something happening.

Supersunnyday I forgot to say yesterday that whoever told you you can't use the birthing pool must be talking out of their bums. I am tall, with a pre-pregnancy BMI of 29, which is well above normal, and I have not had anyone tell me I can't use the pool. Definitely chase that one up with a second opinion.

Neenewps 9 long days away for us Sad. I promised myself that this time I would not work myself up into a frenzy thinking labour was imminent from about 38 weeks, and here I am doing it again, setting myself up for a long wait. I was getting more cramps in bed last night, but really don't think they are anything, as they are only on one side of bump, and are very erratic. I need to chill out and just relax as this one could also be very late like ds, but its so hard with all of these babies popping out around us!

8rubberduckies · 13/06/2011 08:31

X-posted Jasmine, hope your neighbour is ok...

curiouselle · 13/06/2011 08:33

ooooh Barbie I am so pleased for you - Congratulations on baby Kate's safe non-induced arrival! Looking forward to hearing all about how amazing she is!

8 days till due date for me, and already feel impatient. DH said last night "it's like waiting for Christmas but you don't know the date!' which I thought explained it well Grin

Have pregnancy massage today which I am really excited about Smile Good luck to all with twinges and symptoms!

crumbletastic · 13/06/2011 08:48

Wow, super birth story prisoner, i can't believe it was all so quick!

Congratulations knackered and barbie (finally!), welcome to the world Dexter and Kate.

I ADORE the name Celeste sasa, it got ruled out here for a few reasons but is still a contender for a middle name. Us June ladies all seem to have great taste in names.

No news here, not a peep from womb and I was even worried that movements have stopped but husband assured me there is plenty of kicking I don't feel at night when I'm dead to the world and snoring like the delicate lady flower I am. Thank you for the reassurances/good wishes with regards bf. I'll try and get down to a le leche group as soon as possible for more advice/reassurance.

Offf to find kara's thread now, I've no idea whats been happening.

curiouselle · 13/06/2011 09:01

Just caught up with karas thread - her DH is being amazing, birth partner and MN updater, all whilst being a bit frazzled - congrats to him. Hope kara is doing well!!!!

NurseSunshine · 13/06/2011 09:05

Wow Congratulations Barbie!! Am so so pleased you've finally got Kate in your arms one day before induction! She's certainly got a sense of humour Grin Can't wait to hear your birth story.

Jasmine My MW told me that you basically can't do anything about the baby's position, if it's going to turn it will, probably last minute in labour! So don't stress too much and certainly don't cause yourself pain, you need your sleep :)

Curioselle Your DH has summed it up perfectly!

Haven't been following Kara's thread, hope she's OK

Nurse is that right? Can I have your MW? mine insists I need to help the positioning as much as possible. I'm also worried about my monitoring on Thursday and giving them any excuse to go off on one again about medical interventions. I'm keeping MOSP in mind and the fact that back to back natural births are feasible...if more painful.

This annoys me as well supersunnyday though I don't have the exclusion problem I was told that a MW had to be with you all the time if you are in the pool, so if staff are not available then you can't. I understand this from a safety point of view, and I guess the same applies for weight if they can't lift you - HOWever if you are mobile and have a DH who is able to lift you (mine is a foot taller than me!) then you should be able to sign a consent form saying you are happy to take responsibility for your own mobility issues in the pool - this clears the hospital of charges (which I presume is the problem) and we get the birth we want - simples no!?

AlmightyCitrus · 13/06/2011 10:06

Congratulations Barbie!

Another morning on the monitors for me, so off to hospital I go...after I've finished my bacon buttie!

crazychic141187 · 13/06/2011 10:06

Sorry for being me me me but I'm really fed up today and I just want to cry! I feel like im not going to have this baby any time soon and it's starting to really get to me! People keep saying that she will come when she is ready but I can't cope with it much longer! SadSadSadSadSad

jasmine51 · 13/06/2011 10:14

crazy coming your way.
I'm feeling the same and am predicting a meltdown in Tescos if anyone annoys me...or lets face it, even looks at me

curiouselle · 13/06/2011 10:14

awww crazy maybe you need to just have a good cry, you are allowed to feel fed up you are doing a tiring job! Is there anything you can do to distract yourself today (after the cry obviously), reading, eating cake, meeting a friend....? hug Brew

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 13/06/2011 10:15

Wink Prisoner at your induction method. Good to hear you're home and relaxing.

Shock Knackered at Dexter arriving in the car park. Hope he makes a full recovery and is out of SCBU soon.

Huge congrats Barbie and welcome little Kate Grin

Good to hear from you Muflon. Good work with Summer.

Ohh Just checked Kara's thread and she's in business!!!

takethatlady · 13/06/2011 10:28

Thanks neenewps and supersunny :). jasmine mine was back to back at my scan on 1st June and at my mw appt last week, though she seems to have shifted round to the side now ... my mw said all the stuff about lying on your left and going on all fours (how long can anyone actually sustain that for?!) etc, but said not to worry at all as 90% of babies shift to the optimum position when labour starts even if they're in the wrong position before.

Hoping kara is okay :)

takethatlady · 13/06/2011 10:34

Oh dear I really should press refresh before I post. Sorry for all the cross posts! Utterly ridiculous about water births/height of mother. You'd hope they'd have more sophisticated methods for working things out than that! Good work though supersunny - it sounds like sticking to your guns will pay off :)

Good luck citrus :). And don't worry crazychic, we all have those days. I've found myself crying at the most ridiculous things recently - DH is like my own personal weep machine - half the time he gets home I sit him on the couch, bury my face in his neck and cry about something I know is stupid. It does make me feel better too - so I say cry away, and don't be afraid to come on here feeling down. In 4 weeks' time every single one of us will have our babies. 4 weeks is a bloody long time in some ways, but on the other hand our bodies are alredy doing the work to make those babies come, and yours is no different. If all else fails, I recommend chocolate :)

Going off to read kara's thread now ...

sasamaxx · 13/06/2011 10:34

Whoo hoo - congratulations BARBIE!!! So pleased you finally have baby Kate in your arms Grin

Hope Kara is ok - need to try to find her thread now...

Jasmine I completely agree with Nurse - you need your sleep.
My DD1 was born face to pubis - back-to-back labours are perfectly do-able even if they don't turn like DD Smile

Good luck in hospital Almightycitrus

Awwwww crazychic it's so frustrating I know x

fx supersunnyday what a ridiculous blanket ban

I have a terrible headache this morning from lack of sleep. Baby was crying a lot during the night - very sore cries. I'm hoping this isn't the start of colic. I didn't have her in the sling yesterday as we were out and about in the car, visiting a friend and at a kids' party - so perhaps her wind has all built up from not being upright enough. It's just me and DD1 and baby today as DH and DS out to nursery summer trip, so I'm just going to take it easy.

LisasCat · 13/06/2011 11:06

I AM ON MATERNITY LEAVE!!!! Finally. Well technically it started on Saturday, except we had to entertain MIL for the day, and then yesterday DD went to a birthday party, so today is the first day I got a proper lie in, and am now slobbing around in my dressing gown, watching back-to-back Ballamory. (First time mums...that's called good parenting, that is - stick child in front of CBeebies DVD while you catch up with online forums. It's educational, innit!)

prisoner thanks for revealing the secret! I had already decided to start trying that, and DP is so flippin' excited. We've been having quickies whenever DD is out of earshot over the weekend, but from today we'll start the 'oral ingestion method'. As it's DP's birthday on Wednesday, I think I can safely tell him that this counts as his present, and he shouldn't expect too much more.

millie if you're still trying to decide about spa treatment pre- or post- birth, I was given a spa voucher as my leaving present from work, and spent ages trying to decide between an anti-natal massage now, or wait until afterwards, when I'm allowed any of the treatments but then have to work out the logistics of fitting it between feeding. So I've opted for a 2 hour full body sesh in DP's second week of paternity leave, so he, DD and the baby can be shopping close by, and pick me up straight after, for a feed while I'm still spaced out and euphoric!

Good luck everyone else who is in the process of popping, or desperately trying to bring on labour.

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 13/06/2011 11:24

Lisa!!! your last sentence filled my head with a visual I didn't need. Lots of very very pregnant ladies erm making use of their husbands all across the land while toddlers watch ceebeebies in the other room.
.

Joannezipan · 13/06/2011 11:33

Jas and Crazy I was feeling a bit like that this morning and faced with having to go shopping. So I decided I was going to have a treat and go to Waitrose. It was much nicer - quiet, nice loos (which I may have used 3 times Blush), no pushing or shoving and I got myself a bunch of flowers (which i have very inexpertly "arranged" in a vase). I can recommend it, plus it was surprisingly not hideously expensive!

Jas I agree with the others - sleep is important!

Shock at the hospital policy super! That is just rude! Maybe ask them if there is somewhere else you can go where they don't have such stupid rules. 90KG is not very heavy at all I would have though a MW should be more than capable of lifting someone heavier than that with ease...especially if there is more than one of them!

DaisyFields · 13/06/2011 11:45

Hello all and welcome to Kate and Dexter - glad you got cuddles and that scbu is going well for him. Hope Kara is doing ok, am going for a catch-up over there now.

40+6 today and still nada. Mw said she could feel contractions last Thursday... Oh really?!

Ate a curry and watched Black Swan last night, this baby will not be spiced or scared out Smile

Am in agony with my bump, my girlfriends (kindly) bought me some bio oil which I tried and it burnt my skin! Got little blisters in my top-of-my-knickers crease and everything. Back to good old body shop vit e.

Hope today brings more babies for those who are ready and cake for those who aren't!

MainlyMaynie · 13/06/2011 12:06

Congratulations knackered and barbie.

supersunny I am so shocked at your hospital's policy. Can only women who are underweight when they conceive use a water pool? My BMI is higher than yours and hasn't been raised as an issue at all for my home waterbirth. I think if I was you I'd be looking at alternative places to give birth, because the only reason I can think of for such as arsey policy is that they don't have enough staff to properly supervise! I've just read a great book on water birth and basically the only time they would need to lift you is if you fainted in the pool, which is very very rare indeed.

I've just looked at Kara's thread, I love the real time updates, it's so exciting!

Hope the monitoring goes well citrus.

TTL I've done the several embarrassing hours in the PAU when I had some bleeding at about 28 weeks. Worth it for the reassurance though! Still ages to go for us. I am trying to tell myself it is up to 4 weeks, rather than thinking I've only got 2. Not sure how successful that will be!

The baby has moved even further down in my pelvis this weekend, not great for my SPD! I'm a bit surprised as I was already 2/5 palpable and didn't think he would move any further down. Do people really get to 1/5 or 0/5? I don't think there can be any further for him to go now, it really feels like he is resting right on the bottom of my pelvis!

I've got a spa voucher from work too, I think I'm going to book something in this week.

NoToast · 13/06/2011 12:17

Congratulations to Barbie and Knackered !

Supersunnyday- how frustrating about the pool, hope you get the go-ahead. Am impressed how much exercise you are still doing.

Moufflon good to hear from you, glad summer is doing well...

Blush Blush Blush I went to clinic today and farted loudly while consultant helped me on to the couch. Obviously can never go back there ever again, except tomorrow for induction .
