Morning ladies. Hope you're all ok.

Having another freak out this morning Sad

My episiotomy with DS had to repeated after 6 months because of painful scar tissue. I then tore with DD so now I have 3 lots of scar tissue, already it's feeling 'stretched' and I KNOW it won't stretch for labour I'll just tear but as I want a home birth it could be a really bad tear and then I remember how long and difficult it was to stitch me up on a proper bed with proper lighting, equipment etc. I'm partly worried about being stitched up at home but I have visions of 3rd degree tears, huge blood loss etc etc. DP wants to know what's worrying me but it's so b&w to him. Why not just go to hospital then! Sad

moomin156 · 22/06/2011 10:08

morning all.........have i missed any more babies. if so congratulations all.
A question for experienced moms......my LO has started to bring up loads of milk right after a feed but also inbetween feeds. Sometimes digested milk, sometimes with wind, sometimes not. Shes a very windy baby but seems to be getting worse. im sure she only gets half her actual feed. Shes 13 weeks now. Any suggestions?? she only put on 5oz last week and previously its been 8 and 9 oz
secondly anyone used cranial osteotomy?? would be interested in your experiences.

moomin156 · 22/06/2011 10:15

oops cranial osteopathy........not planning on having part of her skull removed

LisasCat · 22/06/2011 11:08

neewewps mine is definitely moving less frequently but doing a crazy rumba for her witching hour in the evening.

As I've lost track of who's out and who's in still, could we start a mini stats thread for those of us still waiting, with a bit of a reminder of the details like type of birth and any planned CS or induction......like this:

LisasCat, EDD 23/6 (DD 4), waiting (im)patiently, hoping for MLU

Oh and MOSP why would you want to get dressed? Have you looked out the window? It's horrid.

takethatlady · 22/06/2011 11:14

moomin I've got no idea ... sorry! I hope the more experienced mummies can help :)

millie no idea either but have you talked about this with your midwife? I am sure they can do a lot to help stop the tearing and to stitch you up at home - it must happen all the time. Perhaps if they know about it in advance they can keep a closer eye on it? I really really hope you get the hb that you want but remember that however your LO comes out, as long as everyone is well you will have so much to celebrate :)

DH was so lovely last night and I feel much calmer about this midwife situation now. This is despite my mum who is accepting our wishes about the birth entirely but clearly feels quite out of control and uneasy about it all and constantly trying to make DH and I feel like we're not quite capable of doing things by ourselves and really it would be much better if she was there (i.e. by telling me about a woman who died giving birth when the midwives neglected her and giving me lengthy instructions for DH about how he shouldn't be 'naive', 'embarrassed' or 'shy' to ask for help just because we're young (29)!), or accidentally-on-purpose hearing the total opposite of what we're saying and taking it personally. I am doing all I can to make her feel involved, but she needs to realise that though I love her and like her and want her in my life and in my daughter's life I don't need her to make up for my incompetencies or to rescue me from imagined dangers all the time. Sometimes it's like she's only happy in a crisis. Ah well. At least she's more or less accepting what we tell her. Just need to stick to our guns (and make sure we're still fair...). Sigh!

jasmine as your DH would be described as a 'medical type' are you avoiding him too?

jasmine51 · 22/06/2011 13:22

Lisa lol it depends on whether he has his med bag with him and a glint in his eye! I did pretend to be asleep last night when he came up to bed and said something about wanting to check my knee Smile

LisasCat · 22/06/2011 13:32

That sounds like a euphemism and a half!

sasamaxx · 22/06/2011 13:41

MOSP you're prob right about connectas - they don't go down much in cost 2nd hand for some reason. Will see what I can find out about availability. I'd recommend getting one with a sleep-hood if you're going for a new one ;)

LOL TTL my yamo has flowers on it ;)

I think Celeste has thrush Sad - have some daktarin somewhere in the house so trying to find it, but will get a prescription sorted as well.

I could MURDER DH's sister. When DD1 was a newborn, she stuck her finger in her mouth and DD1 developed thrush a few days later. Well, she was here on Saturday and DH saw her doing it to Celeste and asked her not to. She said indignantly 'that's what we do with babies in paediatrics' Angry (she is a doctor and boy does she dine out on it). Well looks like that's poor Celeste got thrush now Sad

The good news is that she is now 8lbs 10oz - 1lb 5oz over her birth weight at 16 days old Grin - v pleased with that.

NurseSunshine · 22/06/2011 13:51

Aww poor Celeste :( She's having a right old time of it with wind AND thrush. Yay for gaining weight though :)

sasamaxx if I wasn't a wimp (and if I were you) I'd stick my finger in SIL's mouth next time and see how she likes it Grin. How annoying! Great news about the weight though :)

LOL jasmine and lisa. My mind is whirring on the knee-inspection euphemisms now Grin

I am one day overdue and already going mad! really hope it happens soon, how are other overdue people coping?! I'm not really in pain or uncomfortable just really impatient, hate that this is something I have no control over!

My friend who has obstretic cholestasis (sp) and is due in 4 weeks is having her baby now!! her waters went last night and she is currently being induced, I really feel for her and hope her and little one are ok.

takethatlady · 22/06/2011 16:38

Hope your friend is okay curiouselle. I'd take my current impatience over OC anyday :)

Just lost my mucous plug though. Well, I'm pretty sure I lost some of it last night, some this morning, and a big blob now. Like clear half-set jelly with blobs of pale brown in. Nice :)

Whoop whoop!

neenewps · 22/06/2011 16:49

Thanks ttl and lisascat about the reassurance re movements.

The appointment took much longer than I thought as I told my mw that I was slightly concerned about the movements so she said that she would do a trace. Also my BP was up slightly. Trace done and it showed I am having contractions. I can't feel them though! So, she had to check with the consultant re my BP but the consultant was happy that it was perhaps raised due to the contractions. Consultant wanted me to have a sweep but I'm not overdue yet so I declined and said I would wait. If there is movement there anyway, a sweep may not be necessary. So we will see what happens. I really can't feel much... the occasional tightening and I have a period type pain in my lower back. Still have my plug & waters though!

sasa poor Celeste. I'm not surprised you are fuming.
