Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bananarama05 · 04/06/2011 08:23

Morning everyone,

Just checking in, baby banana decided to stop feeding so we ended up back in hospital for 5 days which was pretty miserable. She's had IV antibiotics (my waters broke 2 days before she decided to make an appearance so there was an increased risk of infection) and been checked for jaundice and all her tests have come back clear. I'm expressing and bottle feeding as she doesn't seem fussed on breastfeeding and expressing seems to be working for me so fingers crossed we're on the mend and can stay home this time!!

Hope you are all well, congrats on any new arrivals and looking forward to hearing about more on the way :)

jasmine51 · 04/06/2011 08:25

Congrats Gillz, hope you are recovering well. Sophie sounds like she was in a hurry!

No sleep here either but I was too lazy to get up and turn the laptop on. Occasioanally dropped off but woke up having really really angry dreams which was odd.

Poo watch update...still havent stopped! Not nasty runny or anything, just pretty constant. I am guessing as long as I stay hydrated and it doesnt actually turn to diarhoea then theres nothing to worry about? In my ever hopeful mind its the result of changing hormones and is a good sign. Oh and who was asking about hot flushes? I had these a while ago but by coincidence I had one during my afternoon snooze yesterday too...again hormonal shifts?

Hmmm, what to do today? Heavy duty sofa sitting or potter round the kitchen tutting at the mess...decisions decisions

sasamaxx · 04/06/2011 09:00

Good morning!
I'm still here. Contractions eventually eased off at 5am so got some sleep.
Hope they come back soon

knackered76 · 04/06/2011 09:12

Sasa Boo :( but glad you've managed to get some sleep, although you probably need more!

Banana Sorry to hear about baby banana :( Glad you're home now and finding a feeding pattern that seems to be working :)

Jamsine I say push the boat out and do both. Potter and tut first and then heavy duty sofa sitting Grin

Thorny The extra lovely thing about yesterday was that my friend did all the running around after the children and I got to sit on my backside and watch everyone instead Grin

Right, come on out baby, you're due today (I think it knows I've not done my essay yet and is going to refuse to come until I do!) . . . . . . .

Labella77 · 04/06/2011 09:32

Morning ladies, i'm moving threads, was due 30th May and there's noone on the may thread any more :( .Clearly May has passed me by so here i am in June, still waiting, 40.5 got another week to go before induction and not feeling a thing at the moment. Rubbo.

Good luck with all the babies ladies.

knackered76 · 04/06/2011 09:36

Welcome Labella :) Sorry you've been left but the more the merrier on here! Fingers crossed things start happening for you soon. I'm due today and there's no sign of anything, much to DD and DS disappointment!

BarbieLovesKen · 04/06/2011 09:40

Thanks a million knackered, kara and thorny, still here though after being sure I'd have to go into labour after such a large show. So fed up now. Am sick of all these signs yet nothing actually happening, contractions, back pain, period pain over the past two weeks but not actually turning into anything. Had heard 3rd labours were like this but hadn't realised exactly how frustrating it would be. Am having visions of going that 16 days over and giving birth to a 10lb baby.

Knackered, yay for hitting your due date!!!

Sasa, am so glad you got some sleep. It's so exciting - sounds like we'll have another baby in the next day or so.

glizz a huge congratulations on the birth of Sophie (and I adore her name btw, really beautiful and classic) I'm sorry to hear it was such a dramatic arrival though, sounds terrifying. Hope the pain eases off soon.

banana sorry to hear baby banana was back in hospital but am glad to hear you are both well now.

41 weeks today

NurseSunshine · 04/06/2011 09:41

Congratulations Gillz! Sounds terrifying but thank goodness everything turned out OK :) Hopw your recovery goes well

Fingers crossed Baby will carry on thriving Banana

Sasa thinking about you :) Hope you can get some rest

I've had a bit of a scare this morning. Yesterday baby moved but not nearly as much as normal and today nothing so I called the MW who came round and listened to the heartbeat which was normal. Am being sent in for monitoring though just to make sure so just waiting for my friend to come and pick me up. Apparently they're busy so I think I'm in for a long and boring day. As long as baby's OK though, I don't mind!

X posts - huge Welcome labella, hope your lo decides to make a move very soon

PrisonerZero · 04/06/2011 09:54

Congratulations Gilliz on the birth of Sophie, sounds very scary, glad you are both ok.

Welcome Labella Smile

I am so uncomfortable today, it hurts to stand up, lie down, sit down... i'm sure you all know what I mean!

Dp decided to have a play with the Tens machine last night and stuck the patches on his arm, it was very funny to watch his muscles move involuntarily and his hand making odd shapes. I tried it on my arm too as I was worried about what it would feel like, its like pins and needles until you turn it right up!

Dragged myself and the DC down to the shops yesterday, went in one shop before I decided it was too busy and hot and stropped off home to eat ice lollies Blush

My baby bath arrived yesterday, just waiting for the changing bag now and then I have everything. Not that any of its put away Blush

I may end up causing damage to DP this week as he keeps trying to tell me he knows what its like to be huge and uncomfortable as he is carrying a few extra pounds Hmm It would be so nice if just for once he would hang out the washing or run me a bath etc. Oh well its Doctor Who night tonight so me and the DC will be watching it with some treats and sending him off to the pub or something.

Banana, I hope everythings ok.

Sasamaxx - I really hope that things get going today, good luck!

PrisonerZero · 04/06/2011 09:54

NurseSunshine, hope everything is fine with you and the baby.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 04/06/2011 09:55

Welcome on board Labella! Hope baby comes soon.

Here is a great song for everyone, especially TTL Grin

Sassamax - hope things kick off again soon!

sasamaxx · 04/06/2011 09:58

Barbie I so know how you feel - it is just so depressing.
I really hope there is some baby action for one of us today.

Thanks everyone for good wishes - this really is the pits

jasmine51 · 04/06/2011 09:59

Welcome Labella to the waiting room! I'm not even due for another 2 weeks but I'm joining in with the frustration vibes because Im just generally impatient.

Nurse youre my edd buddy so you do realise we have to coordinate our timings? Im sure your LO is fine and just being mischievous...or getting ready for launch (not before me though Envy)

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 04/06/2011 10:30

Kara Angry that was mean. I nearly played TT on my computer!

Moog72 · 04/06/2011 10:43

Hi - just trying to catch up on all the posts!

Gillz - congratulations! Hope you are recovering well..

Sasa - fingers crossed something gets moving properly for you today - exciting!

Barbie - sorry you are fed up. I have heard that about 3rd labours but never really thought it was true - it's odd isn't it that they seem to be stop start / frustrating. Can't be much longer now though til things get going I'm sure :)

I have been enjoying my first week of maternity leave and half term with DD. Am 38+4 today and feeling better than I have for ages - must be because I'm not working I think. Am not impatient yet although I am sure that will change this time next week....

KaraStarbuckThrace · 04/06/2011 11:12

Confessions - but it is such an appropriate song!

I particularly like the chorus -

So c'mon, so c'mon, get it on, I don't know what you're waiting for, your time is coming, don't be late! Grin

And in the 1st versus "But you're stuck in a hole, and I want you to get out."
GrinGrin

crazychic141187 · 04/06/2011 11:20

On my phone so only a quick one! Congrats to those who have had babies and good luck to those nearly there!

My IBS pain keeps fooling me into thinking I'm having contractions but its not and its starting to get on my nerves!!!

curiouselle · 04/06/2011 11:21

Gillzz I spent 15mins trying to write you a message on phone last night but gave up in the end (stupid phone). Sorry it was all a bit dramatic and hope you are recovering well and CONGRATULATIONS! Love the name Sophie Smile

kara excellent song choice (now stuck in my head!) Grin

Hearing about all these babies and twinges etc. is making me antsy and I still have 17days till my due date - I really hope I am a little bit early. Maybe next weekend woud be nice, do you think she will comply?! [hmmm]

sasa I have my fingers crossed for you also - eagerly awaiting updates!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 04/06/2011 12:20

I've been on the Wii Fit plus!

Plus have a hypnotherapy recording from my doula friend. Will put it on my MP3 later.

Thornykate · 04/06/2011 12:56

easy now Kara Think the wii fit board would have a meltdown if I tried to climb on it. I am impressed with you Grin

DS3 (6yrs) made me go on the xbox kinect raft game with last week. The one where you have to jump up & down Confused

At first he was saying "Come on mum- jump!"
Then after a while he took a good look at me & said "I better do the jumping for us mum; you just steer."

Think I must now be looking as decrepit as I feel for a 6yr old to notice!

Welcome Labella ! hope you are not waiting too long now. I think it must be harder to be one of the last ones due on a thread. I am one of the first people due on here but already feel left behind & it's only 4th June?!

Banana glad baby banana is back home now & feeding ok that must of been scary having to take her into hosp :(

Jasmine your bowels were probably just really backed up & your body is playing catch up, the bowel can hold metres of poo when it wants to (sorry lunchtime MNers!) I have seen it on xrays of impacted bowel & it really surprised me.

Glad you are resting sasa I really feel your frustration though it would be much better if things could either happen properly or stop until they are ready to grrrr.

Barbie I too lost a (v small) piece of plug last. But given that sweeps are supposed to work within 48hrs & I have about 30 minutes left until that time has lapsed I am not hopeful that anything else will occur!

Monday is a hugely inconvenient day for me to go in to hosp but TBH anytime Mon-Thurs would be. DS1 has a GCSE Monday aft, DS2 has exam week. BIL doing childcare is busy elsewhere so it's all a bit of a rush. Even slightly tempted to postpone it... I will only be 11 days past EDD?

Happy due date Knackered lets hope you are one of those who produces on time!

Prisoner I agree that staying in & sending DPs out is the best thing to do when they make helpful comments. Mine was telling me last night about some 38yr old model he saw in the paper who had a baby 2 months ago & she looked amazing.....Gee thanks for sharing that with me Hmm , no pressure there eh?!

Hope LO behaves for the monitor nurse & you arent stuck there all day.

Crazy hope your IBS settles down- it's bad enough getting trick contractions as it is without that!

Curiouselle I did read a thread on childbirth where people put in cosmic ordering requests for their babies to deliver on certain dates....maybe thats where we've all been going wrong!

Going to try & be busy all day again as sitting down seems to bring back my overdue blues, have a lovely day all :)

Merlion · 04/06/2011 13:15

Gillz many congrats and a lovely name. Hope you are both recovering - sorry it was such a traumatic experience.

DD still doing well but I managed to get mastitis on Thursday evening so had to go to the doctors for some anti-biotics on Friday. DH being a star and looking after DS so managed to go back to bed with DD yesterday afternoon and snooze/feed/snuggle with DD and feeling a bit better now although she's still not really managed to drain the affected side and no amount of pumping/massaging seems to work so will see lactation consultant tomorrow to see if they can help with position etc. Am a bit Sad as had so many problems with DS feeding and it seemed to be going so well with DD.

Hope everyone else in the waiting room gets going on the dates they want.

Labella that's a bit mean of your AN thread isn't it? I think we've agreed to stick around till the last one pops! We did the same on my last AN thread (Aug 08) and the last one didn't arrive till mid September. You're more than welcome here though!

jasmine51 · 04/06/2011 13:17

re Wii fit - so how do you set it so that it doesnt make a smart comment every time you step on the board..'you appear to be heavier than last time'. I would love to use mine but it tells me off and doesnt listen when I tell it why!

TMI - Im wearing the biggest knickers I have ever seen in my life...and I'm loving them! Will be interesting to see dhs reaction when he 'finds' them later!

takethatlady · 04/06/2011 13:47

Grin kara you've put a whole new spin on that song for me now Grin

Excited and frustrated in equal measure for all the ladies with contractions, poo problems, sweeps and mucous plugs ... I hope all these horrible things turn into babies soon!

Just checking in really - been lurking but it's hard to keep up nowadays!

Welcome labella :)

KaraStarbuckThrace · 04/06/2011 14:01

Jasmine - I'm not sure, used Wii Fit plus, and had to set up a new profile as my old one had been deleted. So had to do the whole body test thing again and of course I got the "Too high!" comment after weighing! On the plus it gave me a Wii Fit age of 2 years YOUNGER than my actual age Grin

Thorny Grin at your DS! Sorry the sweep didn't work, hopefully things will kick off anyway!

Melion - sorry about the mastitis, hope the ABs do the job and the LC can help you with positioning.

Crazy - sympathies on the IBS, I have had some of that as well, not as bad as it was 8 weeks ago when I had those agonsing stomach cramps.

Keep getting this intense pressure just above my pubis which takes my breath away, and bump feeling hard again, so hopefully things may well get underway in the next day or so.
