Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsStevo · 06/06/2011 21:03

and silver - how are you doing now? Hope you're taking it easy at work.

PeelingmyselfofftheCeiling · 07/06/2011 18:01

Hello all, I've 'popped'. Am 16 wks and wierd stretchy feelings in tummy, jeans don't fit, and the mid-wife says the bump is equivalent to a 20-weeker singleton. Eek!

How quickly did everyone's bumps get to the 'impressive' stage? Grin

MrsStevo · 07/06/2011 18:04

I was in maternity jeans at about 12 weeks peeling!! Mostly because they were / are soooooo much more comfy!!

My bump proper appeared at about 18 weeks. I'm 29 weeks now and measuring at a 41week singleton.... they grow quickly!!!

silverangel · 07/06/2011 18:18

Hello all, I'm doing well thanks, on my way for a check up now actually but I feel good. Work have been very good and not stressing me out too much and I even took the plunge and ordered the buggy last week, which I think was very brave of me:).

Re the bump, I looked like I had eaten a lot of pies at 12 weeks, managed with bump bands until about 15 and then had to get maternity. I'm 23 and measuring 28 singleton size. It looks much better as its got more pronounced - don't look so fat. Second Mrs S re the comfort factor but am yet to find a pair of jeans that will stay up so still wearing bump bands over the top - I'm actually finding them quite supportive.

A lady just posted on the pregnancy board who has just been diagnosed with ttts - I have pointed her in this direction. Cake - if you found this thread ditto what I said over there - nany questions ask away.

Mrs S - have they given you a date for delivery yet?!

Hope everyone else is well x

MrsStevo · 08/06/2011 15:38

Thanks for letting me know about the other thread silver - I had started it but when it dropped off my 'threads i'm on' I never thought to find it again.

Well done you on ordering the pram!! We said we were going to wait until 28 weeks to order stuff but bravely ordered our pram and the cots at about 26 weeks in the end as we thought that if they do arrive early, we need to get some stuff sorted. I think it helps to stay positive and take positive steps for your babies.

I don't have a date for delivery yet but have a growth scan on Friday which I'm fretting about. I think if they are still growing well then they'll stay in for as long as poss, but if one has started dipping again then I think they'll want them out asap. I'm not in the least bit prepared if they do want them out this weekend!!

babychoochoo · 09/06/2011 18:58

Hello ladies, may i join you? Found out last week at my first scan i am expecting twins!

Currently 14weeks, edd 4th December.

It was a total surprise to be pregnant than to be told there are two brewing was a massive shock.
I have two DD's aged 6.8 & 4.7.

Have a growth scan booked at 16 weeks, is there others after this?

MrsStevo · 09/06/2011 21:12

Congratulations babychoochoo!! Welcome to the very special club of twin mummyhood! Do you know whether your babies are identical or non-identical yet? That makes the difference about how often you are scanned I believe. I am expecting MCDA (identical) twins and am scanned every week (but I've had a few complications) - I believe it is normal to be scanned fortnightly with identical twins, not sure about non-identical.

If you are anything like me, the shock will take a while to wear off!! These are my first babies - can't imagine how you must be feeling when you already have 2 other girlies. Very exciting though, congratulations again!

babychoochoo · 10/06/2011 10:30

MrsStevo thanks for the welcome. I believe im carrying non ID twins as they each have their own placenta. This is the best situation to be in so im told as there is less chance of complications.

Im still reeling from finding out that at 43 yoa i am expecting twins, hope i can cope at me age!!

When are you due?

MrsStevo · 10/06/2011 17:41

Yep, non-ID twins are less complicated as I understand it so that's good news. Are you finding out whether they are boys or girls? Two boys after two girls would even out the numbers in your house I suppose!!

I am due on August 23rd - am currently 29+3 but I will be having a c-sec at around 36/37 weeks after having had some complications so not long to go now!!

Prepare to get much bigger than you did with your singleton pregnancies by the way!! I am measuring at a 41w pregnant singleton person already ... and there's still a way to go!

43 is nothing! You'll be absolutely fine I'm sure. Plus you'll have two little girlies who can help you out with nappy changing and the like! Grin

ipswichwitch · 10/06/2011 17:43

congrats babychoochoo :)
not sure myself about non-id twins - am expecting id's and am 18wk now, due 9th nov. i get scanned every 2 weeks, but have been told it's less frequently with non-id twins. we're getting over the shock (just about!!) since these are our first, so to be honest have no idea what to expect anyway. we're just gonna buckle up and enjoy the ride so to speak. it's all so exciting!!!

mybootsaremuddy · 10/06/2011 21:17

There here!!!Grin

DD 3lb 10oz
DS 4lb 4oz

Born Thursday 2nd June. Very quick labour DD literally shot out soon after arrival at hospital (thought they were going to arrive in back of dhs pick up at one point!Shock). DS was breech but came out 16mins later (with a bit of persuasion)!! He had a bit of difficulty breathing and need a little help for a few days but both are doing well now and were allowed home on tuesday afternoon.

They are as yet un named as we either cant agree or cant decide what would sound good with the other dc!!! We have middle names sorted...........now to come up with the all important first!!

MrsStevo · 10/06/2011 21:23

WOOHOOOOO!!!!!! Congratulations myboots!!! Lovely, lovely news. So pleased they're doing well and you're home with them now. How are you feeling?? Well done you for having them naturally Grin . Fantastic news!!

mybootsaremuddy · 10/06/2011 21:43

Im feeling well thank you (apart from tired!!). As yet apart from feeding them im not getting much of a look in.
Elizabeth has been a little mother hen and wants to help with the dressing and changing and jumps up to investigate the second she hears them stirring!!! She was holding my hand when DD was born as it happend so quick but was sent out of the room when DS was being deliverd(thank goodness).

There both feeding well and midwife thinks its prob because DS2 is still being bf breakfast and bedtime so i had a good supply ready laid on!!! I also have a good stock in the freezer so hoping I wont have feeding problems.

babychoochoo · 10/06/2011 23:31

mrsstevo thanks for the info, hope i won't get too huge. How are you feeling? im already slowing down and a bit breathless. We are going to find out the sex and two boys would be the best scenario, the sconographer said at my 12 week scan the did look like boys but no guarantees as girls bits are swollen at that stage too. Do you have any dc's already?

ipswich Congrats, very exciting but scary at the same time! It must be nice to see yours every 2 weeks eh. Are you going to find out the sex?

myboots Wow, many congrats, hope i have a natural birth like you. Hoping my DD's will be mother hens too!! Good luck to you

MorningsMadness · 11/06/2011 16:37

ipswichwitch · 14/06/2011 11:36

congrats myboots!! wow, i hope mine pop out that quick!! glad you're all doing well.

babychoochoo - hi, we're not gonna find out the sex, we like surprises, which is just as well really!!!! I'm also getting short of breath whenever i'm moving about a lot, or going up stairs but they said thats ok as long as it's not happening when i'm sitting still or sleeping. starting to get a bit slower too (i'm 19wks tomorrow) and already have a sizeable belly :) DP is the mother hen in our house, won't let me lift anything heavier than a magazine and god forbid i should get the duster out!!!!!!!! am making the most of it tho :)

silverangel · 14/06/2011 14:49

Ipswich - did I read further up that yours are def dichorionic (at work so can't really look back)? I don't want to scare you and I wasn't going to post this but then thought I better just in case - breathlesness was a symptom of my TTTS, caused by the additonal fluid build up and I was 19 weeks when diagnosed. Obviously not a concern if yours are DC but somehting to be aware of. After the fluid was drained the breathlesness went away almost immediatley.

Hope you're just unfortunate to be suffering with breathlesness early (if that makes sense!) and hope I haven't scared you to death x

ipswichwitch · 15/06/2011 11:18

silver - mine are monochorionic aparently (and diamniotic) but we've had the discussions about TTTS with the m'wife and consultant. i've told them about the breathlessness, but since the babies are same size on the scans and there's nothing else untoward so far, they're happy. i'm having scans every 2 wks, and seeing consultant at same time so they are keeping a good eye on us. they say the breathlessness is caused by the extra progesterone and the fact i've got b12 deficiency, which i've had for a while and been getting jabs for.
don't worry tho, you haven't scared me to death :) and cheers for the post. it's nice to get a bit advice/support from people who are going through the same thing since we don't know anyone who's had twins and don't have much idea what to expect. thats why i'm on here all the time :)

silverangel · 15/06/2011 16:48

Ipswich - glad I didn't terrify you and hope the breathlesness doesn't get too annoying:)

I had a check up today and all looking good - def going to have the steroids at 28 weeks and then it will be a waiting game to see how long we can keep them in for before they deliver.

I'm 24+4 now and definitley finding it harder to do things, like bend over, get up out of bed quickly etc, and we have a puppy who is quite hard work (in a good way!) and I'm not as quick with him anymore. Not sure how I would cope if I had a toddler to run around after. Can't wait until I finish work now - only have four weeks to go.

Hope everyone else is well and myboots how are you getting on?!

AllTheYoungDoods · 16/06/2011 10:22

Hey all, just checking in. Congrats to boots too, do let us know when you've chosen some names (I can barely think of ONE I love, let alone two at the moment!).

Anyone else seem to be growing hourly? Seriously, it's madness. Am not sure whether to rein back the eating or just plough on, seeing as I wasn't interested in food apart from toast for the first 12 weeks.

Looking forward to 20 week scan - I think I'll only be able to really look forward to 2 actual babies if I hear everything's ok at the anomaly scan, I know that sounds a bit bonkers and even though lots can go wrong after that point. Just feels a bit unbelievable still.

AllTheYoungDoods · 16/06/2011 10:23

Ah, just realised I didn't name change back. It's PeelingMyself off the Ceiling here! Blush
