Dachs, go away and reflect, don't think about anything practical, just allow yourself to let all the emotion flow over you. Thinking about you so much and devastated for you. Those gorgeous babies were lucky to have you for the time they did.

holidays2010 · 25/05/2011 19:39

Dach i really hope you and DH can stay strong for eachother. im glad youre still lurking so you can read all the support everyone has for you but i think a holiday-time away with just you and DH is what you need.
I have no idea what to say to be honest, i just wish you all the best with any descision you make.

Hello all, just a quick update from me. Had follow up scan at Kings yesterday and all good. 6% discrepany between babies, heart, kidneys and bladders look good in both and fluid levels normal. Massive relief!!

x

tiggersreturn · 27/05/2011 10:21

Glad to hear it's going well Silver.

MorningsMadness · 27/05/2011 10:23

Phew, good news silverangel.

holidays2010 · 28/05/2011 10:14

Thats great Silver! :)

Is anyone thinking of going reusable, because I've found a seriously cheap website for reusable nappies... www.bumdealnappies.co.uk
For 25 nappies it comes to around £150, which may sound alot but compared to other sites - only 13 nappies will cost you over £150!

I'm going to be buying from them next week (once the bank hoildays are over!).
If you need to contact them for anything the response is quick too.

And Here is a list of over reusable nappy sellers.

silver that is just fantastic news, I'm so relieved for you. When you say 6% discrepancy, is that in terms of their size? Ours have always, and continue, to measure about a week apart in terms of their abdominal circumference but that's just the way they're going to be I think. Should make it easier to tell them apart when they arrive!! Brilliant news for you though, must be such a weight off. Hope you're resting and relaxing and being looked after properly x

silverangel · 31/05/2011 11:43

Hi Mrs S - yes, the 6% is size, they put all the figures together - measurements and weight and work out the difference. They have always been different and they always expect them to be. Looking back at my notes, first scan was 10%, second scan 15%, third scan 5% and then 21% for when the TTS was diagnosed but with the baby that had been bigger all the way through now the smaller so it was actually a 27% change in a week.

Unfotunatley am back at work today but taking it very easy (clearly, as on mumsnet instead of working!), am going to see about staggering my hours so I dont have to stand on way in - commute for about an hour - never any hope of a seat!

Hope all is well with everyone else x

ipswichwitch · 31/05/2011 16:21

hello ladies, am 17wk preg with ID twins, and its my 1st pregnancy so totally clueless what to expect. i've been reading a lot of posts on MN about life with twins, and have also scared myself half to death after talk with mwife about TTTS and the like. am trying to be as relaxed as poss about the whole thing, but will probably be back with many daft questions :)
am keeping everything crossed for you all, and sending much love to dachs

MrsStevo · 31/05/2011 16:53

Welcome Ipswich!! We're all friendly here and those that are further along the pregnancy line have always been really helpful so go ahead and ask as many daft questions as you like (I have Grin!) There are 2 of us (that i know of) that have had TTTS and both of us have had surgery and still have both our babies so don't freak out too much - and stay away from Dr. Google at all costs!

I'm 28 weeks today and it is my first pregnancy too so it has all been new to me - I still feel clueless as to what on earth I'm going to do with TWO babies when they arrive!!!

ipswichwitch · 01/06/2011 12:27

hi MrsStevo! i figure this is gonna be some steep learning curve!
well, we did always say we wanted 2 children, just didn't quite mean having them both at the same time Grin
scans all ok so far, and i'm being a good girl and keeping off dr google. one thing i was wondering, does this extreme tiredness wear off at any point?? i don't know anyone who's had twins, but all my friends keep telling me they were only knackered til about 12-14wks then they got this seemingly magical energy spurt. i'm so cream-crackered still, i'm nodding off at work and can't seem to stay up past half 9 most nights. not that it's a real problem as such, just want to be able to tell people it's normal, and no i'm not just being a lazy beggar!!!!!

tiggersreturn · 01/06/2011 12:42

I was extremely tired until 16 weeks but then adjusted other medication and recovered somewhat. Have the hospital recommended supplements? I was given iron at 13 weeks.

ipswichwitch · 01/06/2011 13:12

iron levels were aparently fine at last blood test, as was everything else. seeing MW tomorrow, so will mention it then. not taking anything at present, and hoping i don't need iron supplements as i get v bad diarrhoea (sorry if TMI!)

tiggersreturn · 01/06/2011 13:14

The obs gave them to me and said with twins it was inevitable I would need extra iron. My side effects from iron is the opposite which is also rather unpleasant and painful.

MrsStevo · 01/06/2011 13:16

I have to say I didn't suffer too much with the extreme exhaustion after about 16 weeks so can't help. Like Tigger said - could maybe be related to anaemia or something? Did anything come back on your booking bloods? I presume you must be having fairly regular scans with yours also being identical - might be worth having a chat with a midwive / your consultant when you're next there if you're still shattered. It is going to be a looooooong road ahead if you stay this tired! Poor you!

ipswichwitch · 01/06/2011 14:19

cheers folks, i'll have a chat with midwife tomorrow. on the bright side i'm trying to make the most of this extra sleep, since i probably wont be getting much come october :)

restingkitty · 03/06/2011 09:56

Hello everyone, hope all are well. I've now hit 38 weeks and I've had enough! And I spent so much time worrying about looking after premature babies.... Have been booked in for an induction - but I really hope they decide to move before then. I just want to meet them now Smile

MorningsMadness · 03/06/2011 10:35

Wow restingkitty that's fab! I'm only a day off 30 weeks and have had enough ha ha!

MorningsMadness · 03/06/2011 13:37

Ladies, has anyone invested in a nursing / gliding chair? I'm sure they've been talked about but I find every piece of furniture in my house so uncomfortable at present (thanks girls!) that I now find myself considering the options ...

tiggersreturn · 03/06/2011 14:02

Not yet but I mean to this time. Just need to sort out buying a new house first Grin

MrsStevo · 03/06/2011 14:28

Ooooh Restingkitty, so exciting.... won't be long now! when is your induction date?

MorningsM - YES I have bought a gliding nursing chair and it is pure heaven :) Easily the comfy-ist thing to sit in. Not sure that it will be all that practical to actually breastfeed twins in though but very soothing for them just to sit in it with me and rock I should think. I got mine on ebay for about £40 (had to collect it tho obv) - would recommend having a look on there as you too might find a bargain.

MorningsMadness · 03/06/2011 20:34

Nice work MrsS - may I ask which one you got? Will try ebay, thanks!

MrsStevo · 04/06/2011 00:18

Hmm....you can ask, but I'm not sure I know the answer!! It isn't a super-flashy one. Think they said that they got it from Kiddiecare originally. It isn't a brand name one anyway but it does all the same tricks and has the gliding footstool to go with it.

MorningsMadness · 05/06/2011 20:20

Thanks, brill.

MrsStevo · 06/06/2011 21:02

Hmmm........ where have all the twin mummies gone? Surely there must be news from snowfalls and missymolly by now??
