aargh! ttl - that's really Angry too.
What is it with people?
especially yours - you're paying him to do a job and he can't be arsed to do it!
especially with it being asbestos! that should be a priority piece of work.

katee - not unless you have to claim on the insurance Wink
aw, though :( hope you feel better now.
have you had a ginger biscuit?

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 06/06/2011 12:28

Oh Nickel that sucks. Hope it gets sorted soon. People can be crap, can't they.

Grin at your DH and DD Cowboy. I still get that way with my DH and DS (even when they're being vile boys).

My fingers have turned into sausages and it seems to be effecting my typing. I keep losing things. It's very annoying.

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 06/06/2011 12:31

TTL ditch the builder and get someone reliable in. He obviously doesn't need your business. Give it to someone who does.

Feel better soon Katee.

takethatlady · 06/06/2011 12:52

coaaf if only I could. DH seems to be having a love affair with this builder and won't hear a bad word against him (thinks he's reliable to do the job well, if not to turn up!), and I'm afraid if we don't stick with him we'll run out of time completely or have to pay more than we can afford - it's already pushing us to the limit.

katee oh no - I remember those days well. If the ginger biscuits don't work [boak] try salt and vinegar pringles or apple with peanut butter on ...

nickel I hope you've stemmed the leak and somebody's in to fix it asap.

nickelbabe · 06/06/2011 13:21

having problems getting hold of the solicitor man.
have emailed, no response, so i phoned and had to leave a message.
annoying.
I can't ring hte insurance, becauseI have no contact details for them, or any policy number, and I daren't ring builders for quotes in case it's not allowed under the terms of the insurance.
I'm hopin gthat the plastic I've put on will hold until something happens.
(i can always go up and do it again when the rain stops)

nickelbabe · 06/06/2011 13:21

now I want salt and vinegar pringles!
:(

takethatlady · 06/06/2011 13:36

Me too. A tuna sandwich and a cup of tea just don't cut it.

Am now resorting to leaving tearful 'I am pregnant please help me' messages on the builder's voicemail. Quite enjoying it actually Grin

nickelbabe · 06/06/2011 13:41

I'm even more pissed off now - stupid people next door coming round all passive-agressive telling me that now water's runnign down about 4 inches away from the plug, and therefore would I mind going back out onto the roof in the pouring rain (considering I now have no spare clothes) and putting "some more plastic up there"
Tehy drive me fucking mental!
No, twats, why don't you climb up onto the fucking roof and piss about in the pouring rain with sheets of plastic and bits of roof tiles? Because you're not pregnant, and are therefore not putting your baby's life at risk by doing it

fuck bastards bollocks fuck wankers bastards cunts.

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 06/06/2011 14:07

and breathe... but Angry on your behalf!

It wasn't classic morning sickness, am over all that ffs (at least I hope I am), have been for about 2-3 months, I think its more that bump is getting in the way atm and squished my tummy up when I bent down to give hen her water this morning (fortunately managed to get out of the chicken run in time!). Have eaten lunch, but still feel a bit nauseous. Just sitting bump seems to be getting in the way - am going to end up like an enormous beach ball, I just know it... Grin

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 06/06/2011 14:20

If it helps, I randomly want chocolate fudge, but am to lazy to make any. (wanted to say I can't be fudged making it Grin)

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 06/06/2011 14:23

Could you have a cold or something Katee? I still have random days of throwing up if I'm under the weather. It's worse than the morning sickness in a way, because it's so unexpected.

peppermint tea might help (otherwise perfect excuse to take yourself back to bed).

Angry for both Nickel and TTL.

vallinnapod · 06/06/2011 14:23

LOL TTL I am getting irrational Motherrage too at the moment. I am sure she is being her normal self but little things keep frustrating me. My fault mainly as I am on edge about moving back home. So just wanted it to be DH, Bub and me :(

Sorry about the roof Nickel - total nightmare. I hope that once you have hold of the Landlord it's not too tricky to sort out.

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 06/06/2011 14:40

I am tired coaaf so it might be something to do with that (don't think its a cold). Or perhaps LO has put on a huge growth spurt due to too many cakes/sarnies at Claridges on Sunday! Wink Almost falling asleep at my desk, so might go home early today if I can sneak out.

nickelbabe · 06/06/2011 14:49

Katee - i know what kind of sickness you mean - I've been getting a wave of nausea when I've eaten and then sit squashed up on the settee.
Not vomitted per se, yet, but on Friday night, I was a little sick in my mouth.
that wasn't pleasant.

the chickens might hve enjoyed eating your sick Grin

I'm getting so very stressed about the roof :(
It's not good forme.
I ate about a third of a bar of dark chocolate galaxy. I don't like dark chocolate, but it's all i had. :(
I have been talking about movign out of this shop when the lease runs out for ages (probably about a year now!) - the lease runs out in 2 years though. :(
This end of the high street is too quiet, and I'm just not taking enough money.
I don't need this extra stress.

In the time it's taken to type that, the landlord's solicitor has rung and said he will find out the insurance details and pass them onto me so that I can sort it out (i don't mind sorting it out, cos I sometimes think it's quicker to do it myself!)
yippee!

takethatlady · 06/06/2011 15:55

Glad things are getting sorted nickel :)

No sign of builder. DH said he's probably slithered under a rock somewhere to hide from the rain Grin. On the plus side, I found a packet of tissues, so was able to overcome the fact we've run out of loo roll and I can't leave the house in case the builder shows. Tissues are actually much nicer for wiping your butt on than toilet roll Grin

Oh katee I know what you mean too about the squishy-stomach-sick. I had a repeat wave of morning sickness last week - spewed up my cornflakes all over the kitchen as I didn't make it to the bathroom in time - so thought you might have had that. Lie out flat and eat ice cream I say :)

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 06/06/2011 16:02

Thanks TTL you just reminded me I had run out of ice lollies! Going shopping tonight so will restock.

I actually had a builder hide out under his desk in his office once, when we stomped in demanding to see him when the workmen hadn't turned up... according to the secretary he was out with the boys on the 'waggon' and didn't have his mobile. Yeah right!

takethatlady · 06/06/2011 16:07

Grin at the hiding builder. Busted!

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 06/06/2011 20:00

He was a particularly cowardly builder it has to be said, I think he was intimidated by stroppy emancipated female clients Grin

nickel have you dried out now? Hope its stopped raining now, its lovely here Smile

BrassicaBabe · 06/06/2011 20:06

SadAngrynickel and ttl sorry you are having a nightmare with landlords/builders

Sorry you are feeling crap katee

I'll join you ttl, vallinna in the mother-moan Hmm Mine never used to ring, fine by me. Now I can't get her off the phone and all she wants to talk about is pregnancy and babies. Yes, I agree it's an important thing in my/our life, but I seem to have turned from a productive member of society into an incubator! Grrr!

Today was my first day off work. Achievment: Went to Argos and bought a clothes horse. Hmm Not sure I'm going to make 9-12 months of this excitement!!

In other news: I had a Gu pudding for all times sake!! Grin

takethatlady · 06/06/2011 20:14

Oh bb me too! What did you go for? They've got them on offer in Tesco's so I had two key lime pies. They were okay - a bit gingery, and maybe two was one too many Grin. Not as good as the choc. But I did get the urge to pee half way through :)

vallinnapod · 06/06/2011 20:31

OMG! Just about to tuck into a Gu Key Lime pie too!!! A Tesco's bargain also Wink

LOL BB - had a horrendous day at work. I spent a 4 hour meeting weighing up the pros and cons of stupidly early labour Shock

aStarInStrangeways · 06/06/2011 20:34

Stop talking about Gu puddings :( I am going to eat an entire chocolate cheesecake to myself the second this baby is out. Straight after the brie and pate sandwich and vat of wine.

takethatlady · 06/06/2011 20:50

Oh dear star don't tell me you're not meant to eat the cheesecake Blush

aStarInStrangeways · 06/06/2011 21:00

Fucking gestational diabetes innit.

BrassicaBabe · 06/06/2011 21:04

I bought some key lime pies and some lemon cheesecakes. I had one for desert, now contemplating the other Hmm I don't want to know why I'm not supposed to eat these Blush

Oh, and I need to stop buying stuff to pack in my hospital bag. They just aren't making it to the bag. So far I've eaten; share size pack of peanut M&Ms, party pack of sour cream pringles, family bag of midget gems and wine gums Shock I think I ought to take my chances with the hospital vending machines when the time comes!
