New thread here ladies.

Again, many thanks to Frakk for the inspired title Smile

Do you think this thread will be the last ante-natal one for the April 11 crew? Or will I be the last one standing and having to start a new thread and talking to myself?! Hmm

Doubt it here! Might, possibly, be having contractions but probably just BHs. They don't hurt though, but I haven't had painful contractions at all ever and I'm 1cm dilated, therefore confused....

How are you and F doing, petal?

bellastella · 19/04/2011 23:36

Nothing happening here except for lack of sleep. was hoping to have some helpful sex tonight but had a row and lots of tears instead. will be all swollen and piggy eyed tomorrow, lovely. hope to write something more cheerful soon :-) x

LisMcA · 19/04/2011 23:45

No baby here, probably won't be one for months :( Still feel shit after my appointment today. Have spent most of the evening blubbing like an idiot. Thanks for all your hugs!

DH has been so lovely, he's going to work tomorrow to finish up things then taking time off to spend with me. Ok so he's off on Friday and Monday anyway, but he's going to take holidays until his paternity leave kicks in. Even if it's just to run after me as I slob on the sofa waiting for my cervix to do something useful!

JollySergeantJackrum · 20/04/2011 05:56

Lis do not despair. On Monday MW reckoned my cervix was still posterior and I now appear to be in early labour. Woke at 2:15 in pain and have been having contractions since then, all less than 10 mins apart but not as regular as I'd like. Some seem to be 3 mins apart and some 8 minutes, but I'm hoping they'll even out. Dragged DP out of bed at 4:30 to keep me company.

Am 40+5 today, fingers crossed this is it. Good luck everyone else!

JustKeepSwimming · 20/04/2011 06:20

JSJ- hope this is it! Am jealous but wishing you speedy labour vibes too.

Lis & Bella - I am totally on the same page, tearful & fed up & tbh not greatcompany. Woke to 3 fb messages & an email. No I haven't effing had it yet !!! I will be shouting from the rooftops when it ever makes an appearance!

And sleeping badly DH pissing me off too & no development after possible show/plug yesterday.
Hmph!

Hope to hear some good news soon :)

JollySergeantJackrum · 20/04/2011 06:28

Have you guys seen this website? I've been posting it on facebook when folk ask:

frakyouveryverymuch · 20/04/2011 06:32

Oh exciting JSJ! Hopefully this is it for you.

I shall join those on the grumpy couch. I seem to have developed sort of period pain type feelings which I'm hoping is a sign of something happening but actually are just nagging and annoying. I sent DH to work this morning despite his hoping this would be it. Last night's vague contractions don't seem to have developed any further - grrrrr!

1stTimeMother · 20/04/2011 08:05

morning all and welcome Cookie. Hope all overdue ladies get moving soon - and we all escape the discomfort in the very, very near future (says I still in total denial about possibility of another 2 weeks of pregnancy..... I WILL give birth on my due date.)

I'm 39+5 today and really, really hoping things start soon. Am crazy lady on pineapple, RL tea, curries etc... although trying to schedule in bedroom action is resulting in less that we had before. Admittedly my seduction technique has changed somewhat and my demands for oxytocin immediately might not be the most romantic but hey ho....

Also trying to ignore sore throat, blocked nose and itchy eye symptoms that appeared yesterday and have not shifted today. What can I do to keep healthy? Am eating well & still exercising but any tips welcome.

Anyway - everyone I hope you enjoy another sunny day. We've got to be grateful for this amazing weather to waddle around in no!??!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 20/04/2011 08:56

Ha ha ha, I like that link Jolly, that made me Grin

I'm sending lots of good birthing and contracting vibes to you ladies who may be in early labour.

I am having a zen and 'the baby will come when it's ready' week this week. Of course next week it will probably be another story and I will be a grumpy old cow. But for now I am enjoying not wishing this pregnancy will end which actually makes time go faster and is a lot more pleasant.

Saying that, dh right royally pissed me off this morning. Two weeks ago I asked him to get some things out of the eaves (sp?!) cupboards. I would get them out if I could but dh made a big thing about I shouldn't be doing it, blah blah. So, I have reminded him a few times and no joy.
I reminded him again last night and he said he'd do it this morning. By now I really want the stuff so I can wash it and know that it is ready, so I reminded him again this morning. Cue lots of heavy stamping and huffing and puffing. Now, I know he is busy, infact he is too busy and doesn't have enough hours in the day at the moment, but I don't ask him to do much - grrrrr.

Oh dear. Sounds like lots of hugs needed today.

Bella Hugs. Hope ur ok!

lis Hugs. That is lovely of your DH. Hope it happens soon.

JSJ ooooooooooo fingers crossed. That link is brilliant. May post that when everyone starts bugging. think I am going to freeze Facebook when I go into labour too so people dont post before me!

JKS Hugs and fingers crossed.

Frak fingers crossed for you too.

1st time sounds like hayfever?

architien · 20/04/2011 09:34

Lis don't be fed up with the appointment as it sounds like you've got a star of an OB there (you lucky lucky lady!!!) plus you've got tomorrow to help things along :)

Jolly thinking of you!

Nothing happening here.......

On the one hand I'm relieved because now I remember what the contractions feel like and I'm being a wimp (cue...no no It's ok I'll stay pregnant for 20 years it's alright I'll do it later..wimper) to willing them on and being excited (hey woohoo I'll be on the other side soon and able to hold the baby and then fall asleep on my tummy again..)

For those who are grumpy, perhaps getting miffed with other halves and needing distracted I send you these links for your enjoyment:

Ah now, isn't that better?

architien · 20/04/2011 09:40

Oh great, get myself settled and I get a note through the door saying they are turning the water off today until tomorrow's early hours (6am) for emergency works....looks like there's another reason for baby to remain in bump, wouldn't be much fun dealing with labour not having a pool or any way of getting fresh hot water for keeping things clean. Well that's decided. It won't be happening today then. :)

JustKeepSwimming · 20/04/2011 09:46

Nightmare Arch - i think I read on MN before about a woman planning a HB and the water was turned off - she rang the company, said about HB & being due/nearly due & they delivered loads of water to her, worth a try :)

Will look at those links in a mo.

Think things are finally gearing up here, totally erratic activity, but activity of a sort Grin

JSJ - and I loved that link too!

MrsWajs · 20/04/2011 10:01

Awww ((hugs)) for all the grumpy ladies, I'll be joining you on the couch also today.

Really thought I was starting last night too but seems once again I was having constipation/contraction confusion :(

Started to feel sick before bed time last night, went off to bed and as soon as I lay down I started having period type aches. This was then follwed by two seperate crampy type pains about 10-15 minutes apart, cue me thinking 'wahey, here we go!!' DP was tired so went to sleep! I got up again for a wander about to see what would happen and then it promptly all stopped and I got the familiar feeling of needing the toilet and a lot of wind!!! Why does the pain of that have to be in the same place as I'm expecting my contractions to be!!?? S'not fair. So no baby here overnight either :(

Think I'm going to adopt a new technique of convincing myself I'm not due til the end of May, maybe then I'll stop being so impatient! Can't really imagine how much worse it must be for those of you who are overdue.

MrsWajs · 20/04/2011 10:04

JSJ Good luck to you my dear, hope this is it for you!

86cookie · 20/04/2011 10:54

hey ladies ,
JSJ, good luck fingers crossed for you.
MrsWajs, i have been having the same thing for the last few days, dragging myslef out in the evning to walk up hillls, then going to bed getting the period type pains and cramps, then getting up to walk around and it all goes!!! its extremley frustrating, i know how you feel.
Booked in for my sweep tomorrow afternoon, so hoping this will kick start something.

JenAT · 20/04/2011 11:38

Hello ladies. Just popping in to see if any news.
Those of you who are overdue just repeat the mantra, the time will pass. I know just how you feel and there will be an end!
I symptom spotted and tried everything to get baby to make an appearance before induction but nothing worked. So my best advice really is to put your feet up, eat cake, and rest, rest ,rest!

LisMcA · 20/04/2011 12:40

JSJ good luck, I'll get my pom poms out!

The Time Will Pass, The Time Will Pass, The Time Will Pass, The Time Will Pass, The Time Will Pass, The Time Will Pass, The Time Will Pass, The Time Will Pass, The Time Will Pass, The Time Will Pass, The Time Will Pass, The Time Will Pass.

I have had a fairly decent sleep so hopefully yesterdays downer has passed too!

I've4 got a baby visiting this afternoon. he was born on Hogmany so he's 16 weeks?? Can't do maths anymore! I'm quite excited to get cuddles!

Me and phones aren't the best of friends at the minute, just skidded across the living room floor rushing to get the phone and didi the splits. oooyah oocha aiyah! Who was it, NOBODY bloody cold callers. The thinngs I have won since finshing up at work I could have renovated my entire house, twice, saved over £1000 on my gas and electricity and claimed back thousands more on payment protection insurance. Mini rant over! :o

JustKeepSwimming · 20/04/2011 14:05

I really fancy the Cath Kidston duck cardigan - so cute!!

Well, i'm having a ctx every 10ish mins i think. I mean they are painful & i have to get up and sort of sway & puff through them but they could still be BHs....don't think so really.

Hoping for things to truly kick off after 7 when the boys will be in bed - but there are a lot of 10min slots between now and then....

Also had a slightly bloody bit of show too , yey :)

kittycatcat · 20/04/2011 14:17

Lis i sympathise. Last week i got off the recliner (no easy) to answer the door to not one, not two, but three talk talk salesmen. I told them as they could see i was uncomfortable and going back to mu sofa, and shut the door on them. Despite relaying this to DH at the time, when two of them knocked last night he only bloody let them in. So i refused to engage in convo and left him to it with them even tho they were in the same room as me. Harrumph. He apologised when they left and realised he had been tricked. Tut.

kittycatcat · 20/04/2011 14:18

oooo JKS sounding good :)

JustKeepSwimming · 20/04/2011 14:24

Going to give a live labour thread a go if i can - something to distract me in the gaps btw ctx:

here

Sassy20 · 20/04/2011 14:24

JKS sounds exactly how I started and within two days had my baby! Good luck.

ecuse · 20/04/2011 16:04

Exciting, JKS, good for you!

Everyone else can budge over and make space for me on the grumpy couch.

40+1 today. No full moon baby for me. Went to see the MW yesterday for 40-wk check, who bounced me straight into the consultant to "talk about induction options" (!). She was like a force of nature... bore down on me all blonde hair, makeup and heavy eastern european accent asking "so where's this baby then? Time it came out, I think, we give you sweep, yes?". So I let her do a sweep (she was pretty vigorous) and she said I'm 1cm dilated, the cervix is "very soft" and only 1cm long. Which I was quite positive about, but nothing has happened yet (about 28 hours and counting). Got lots of stabby crampy pains directly afterwards and got all excited, but they subsided after a couple of hours. She wanted me to be induced tomorrow (PIH) but I resisted so she said we can wait until next Wednesday (41+1).

Since then I've been bouncing on the yoda ball and trying (failing) not to obsess about it. I've got quite a lot of heavy jarring pressure on my cervix/pelvis (?) and I've done two poos this morning [TMI sorry!] but nothing else particularly positive. Harumph.

I've just eaten an entire bag of mini eggs. That I bought as a "present" for DP. Oh well. You snooze, you lose. They've been there for 3 days!
