New thread here ladies.

Again, many thanks to Frakk for the inspired title Smile

Do you think this thread will be the last ante-natal one for the April 11 crew? Or will I be the last one standing and having to start a new thread and talking to myself?! Hmm

Welcome back, kits and glad to hear you're starting to come out the other side. Lis perhaps we can be induction buddies next Weds? I'm to turn up at 8am for inpatient induction if nothing happens between then and now. Bit more show here this afternoon, still not bloody, though. Bit of back/leg ache but nothing serious. Bah.

Has anyone tried Blush inserting evening primrose oil capsules? I have some, not sure whether it's wise...

So, in an immensely cheery step today I went down to our local solicitors and made a will. Nothing like contemplating your own mortality on a sunny Thursday afternoon....

ecuse · 21/04/2011 18:03

Cross post, Frakk - CONGRATULATIONS! Look forward to hearing all about it when you have the time/energy. In the meantime, enjoy little Marc x

LisMcA · 21/04/2011 18:37

Yay Frak so pleased for you! Little Marc sounds very comfortable after his first feed!!

Ecuse not heard back from MW today, so hopefully will know more tomorrow. Its an inpatient induction for me too, but by the sounds of it I don't think you'll make it that far! Your show doesn't have to be bloody, its just a sign that things are moving!

Still crampy and feeling really uncomfortable so maybe something is happening!

SarahJinx · 21/04/2011 19:21

Hooray Frakk congratulations to you and welcome little Marc, let us know all about it just as soon as you have some energy back, so so pleased for you.

Thanks Lis have spoken to mw and got a new presciption to pick up next week if I make it that far, I'm fine until it comes to trying to sleep. Good luck to you and ecuse for inductions/some kind of action

And MrsW I think I'll still be on the grumpy couch eating cake with you, saw MW today, baby is FINALLY getting somewhere near to where it should be, position is right, bottom up head down, just need to shift to the middle a little and drop.....also, any of your cmws/gps commenting on potential size? I asked mine to today and she said she doesn't like to because it's so easy to get it wrong, but was happy to say that I'm not having a small - sub 6lb - one....

PS, Hi KITS hopw you're ok, loved your post....that your little boy is love made me a little teary for you and all of us lucky mummies to be, keep your chin up

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 21/04/2011 19:53

Just a quickie as I'm bloody knackered.

Welcome to the world Marc, and many congratulations Frakk Smile

Lovely to hear from you Kits and glad to hear you're both at home and doing well.

Anybody else feel a baby is imminent? - I don't btw!

OP posts:
SaltedPretzels · 21/04/2011 20:03

Baby?! Imminent?! I'm starting to think I just have bad gas! Yes my mood has improved 0% since this morning think I need to sleep more.

Frakk Congratulations and hello little Marc x

Too many of us late I see Hmm

SarahJinx · 21/04/2011 20:15

SP I'm having a twirl, then maybe a big can of eff you fat coke, so.

SarahJinx · 21/04/2011 20:15

And I'm not even late yet....

JustKeepSwimming · 21/04/2011 20:47

Frak - congrats to you and sympathies on the tear.

I also had thoughts that I'd made up the pg the day befor M arrived however mad that seems!

architien · 21/04/2011 20:49

Frak I'm so glad to hear your great news. Welcome Marc! :)

I apologise in advance in answer to how did the appointment go....

World: EDD is a guess date based on a 10% plus or minus at last scan date. Yes it's my EDD today, no there's no baby yet. Yes everything will be fine now pack it in with the constant hastle of asking and let my body get on with it without stressing. Grrrr

MW came, I'm best just not going into the whole appointment it's dull going on and it'll just raise all our blood pressures.

Sending DH out for chips...yes I know.

ecuse · 21/04/2011 21:15

arch chips are an excellent solution to any problem.

Me, I'm off out on a date with my lovely boyfriend. We're going for all-you-can-eat brazillian barbecue in Islington. The plan is to just squash the baby out... am excited to be doing a grown up thing and also getting to hang out with my other half so I'm taking a break from willing the baby out, and willing him/her to stay in until tomorrow now! Yippee :)

caramellokoalalover · 21/04/2011 21:34

Hi everyone! Just came on to say I had a little girl yesterday and we've named her Scarlett. Birth was amazing, I'll have to pop back with the details as soon as I can perfect my one-handed typing. Basically was like the script from my birth plan which I didn't think was possible...still feeling deliriously happy.

Dying to read back over thread & see what I've missed but congrats to anyone else who has had their baby & I'm cheering on those still waiting!

kittycatcat · 21/04/2011 22:08

Yay congrats caramel lovely name. Look forward to hearing ur details.

Hugs arch

Mmmm chips

LisMcA · 21/04/2011 22:38

Ladies, We have a Show! I have never been so excited to see pink mucus in my knickers! I know it doesn't mean labour in imminent, but it means something is happening that wasn't happening before!! Yay go me!!

architien · 21/04/2011 23:03

Caramel congrats and very much looking forward to hearing how it went for you.

Beckie sending best wishes and hoping evrything is going well.

Lis I'm glad to hear the news about the show and the cervix getting very much ready...hoping you don't need the wednesday appointment.

Ecuse your eve sounds lovely :)

Salted and Sarah I joined you on the munches theme

Thanks Kitty tomorrow is another day as they say besides how great would it be to labour on Good Friday and for the baby to have a birthdate of 22411? I do hope one of us gets that at least :)

SaltedPretzels · 22/04/2011 08:56

Arch & Sarah Fingers crossed it won't be long now! [smiles]

Selfish rant post my apologies

Eaten my way through all the munchies in the labour bag so today's job has to be shopping Hmm felt sick when headed to bed at 9pm. Woke up 1am, 3am, 5am as usual to empty the thimble full of wee that feels like the pressure behind a closed Thames Barrier! Each time I stood up.......pain like baby was about to drop through the trap door, still here when I stand.

When I went for the sweep on Tuesday I was told my cervix is very posterior and that she couldn't do a full sweep as she couldn't reach Blush and that it was unlikely to be any help Sad. Heading to the hospital today afternoon monitoring, scan and another possible (time permitting) sweep. Maybe they have some way of being able to help reach better in hospital than at GP antenatal surgeries

Trying hard to stop being so down, but it's just so hard when everyone asks if it's here, rings all the bloody time to ask and now my e-mails from baby clubs are telling me how exciting and fast the first weeks have been and by now I may be establishing a routine with my newborn

Ok thanks for the moan, heading out to start the day in the sunshine and try to cheer up a little before DH finds out he's married to a manic depressive xx

SaltedPretzels · 22/04/2011 09:00

sorry Lis selfish of me, congratulations on the yucky stuff, I've never seen it with DD's it must have been discretely removed in the delivery room. I keep checking down the loo each time in a very weird and slightly disturbing fascination to see it for myself. It's an iconic moment to discover as you say 'something is happening'! Fingers crossed for you xx

SaltedPretzels · 22/04/2011 09:03

Caramel Congratulations and Scarlett what a beautiful name. Happy for your birth Smile can't wait to read how wonderful it was for you. xx

MrsWajs · 22/04/2011 09:32

Congratulations Frakk and welcome baby Marc!!

Also congratulations to caramello and hello baby Scarlett!!

Lis - yay for your show! Fingers crossed tightly for you to get going now :)

Kits Lovely to hear you and DS are doing so well.

And for the rest of you, I feel your pain. Was in a total funk yesterday. Had back pain again and ??period pain which once again tuned out to be constipation, starting to get a bit pissed off with this now! Took the syrup of figs, which I discovered to my disgust, tastes exactly like jagermeister!! Boke. And to make matters worse it hasn't done a thing!! Don't think I can face anymore!

So decided this morning I'm just going to shut up and get on with things for a few more days, can't spend the whole time moping about due to lack of baby! I'm gonna go and buy something to wear for the tartan themed hen do (which is tomorrow) and hopefully sods law will dictate that I'll start tonight! if not then I have a day out with my friends to look forward to!

architien · 22/04/2011 11:05

Salted hope the appointment goes well this afternoon :)

MrsW horray for shopping!

I'm feeling the period pain too. I've been up since 3:30. I'm now burning rose oil (lovely scent always makes me feel lighter) and bouncing on the yoda ball watching a lovely program on iplayer.

architien · 22/04/2011 11:08

I spent the early hours looking at baby bounchers. I quite like the simplicity of the Bloom Coco and the Koto bouncers but I know how short the time that they in them for and I'm being held back by being tight. Do like them though.

architien · 22/04/2011 11:09

*bouncers....honestly

SarahJinx · 22/04/2011 11:11

MrsW god am so with you on the constipation, my wonderful lactulose is clearly no match for the codeine and it just makes all the aches and pains that bit worse, plus...the wind, you've never heard anything like the trumpetting!!

Lis Hoorah for show! and Congrats Cookie aw.

Happy Good Friday ladies, hope everyone has a lovley sunny day.

AussieMum2Be · 22/04/2011 11:24
