impatient1 · 27/04/2011 20:57

Wishwales Keeping everything crossed that baby stays put as long as possible. selinadoula Thats a fabulous pic!

MrsStevo · 27/04/2011 21:31

My thoughts are with you wishwales, keeping everything crossed for you and your little one.

bebemooneedsabreak · 28/04/2011 10:08

Wishingwales- Hope you and your lo stay comfy in the hospital until term. xx What have you got planned to do occupy yourself? Do you read or knit or anything stationary like that?

How are we all feeling today? Are you finding the second trimesters easier than the first? With the belly popping and the weather being so nice it's hard not to feel happy and positive (at least here). really looking forward to the summer and the birth of Sprite :)

more questions in the bebe household...nursery school is looming; your opinions would be helpful

Hope everyone is as well as they can be, xx

Yukana · 28/04/2011 10:34

Best of luck to you and your LO wishwales, I sincerely hope everything will go well for you!

We were planning to go to CAB yesterday but ended up not doing so, as I had tremendous backache and my feet were sore - so sore I had to walk on the sides of my foot and not like normal. It was horrible but being with DP made it bearable.

I could go to CAB today but after two days of walking around with sore feet, I really don't want to. Perhaps we'll have to go at a later date. :( I need to know if I can switch from ESA to Income Support, as ESA have not paid me despite making my claim in February, and have not even sent the letter out yet for a medical assessment. Angry At this point in time we can do nothing but eat into our savings (our deposit for a house) that my grandparents kindly gave us!

KLou111 · 28/04/2011 12:48

Not sure if you knew, but apparently there is a Royal Wedding tomorrow [csmile] lol. Bloody hell, it's all I am hearing. Nice for the country to be excited and happy about something for a change though! Anyone planning to watch it??

We've moved our TV into the conservatory, and not ordered our new one yet as our lounge needs replastering first, so unless it's a dull day tomorrow (or we can stick some sheets up on the windows) we can't see it! Typical!! Had a quote of over £4k for sodding blinds! I think not.

Well, went to take my weekly piccy today, and OMG I look huge!!! I can't even suck it in!! Didn't get it right so will have to retake it later when I get a bit of privacy (we have a friend here at the moment putting us up a wall in our bedroom for an en-suite woohoo, can't wait to have 2 loos again esp for 3rd trimester!)

MrsVidic · 28/04/2011 13:56

Hi all,

I am 26 weeks today so I'm feeling very relieved! I sorted out my maternity leave with work, I only do 2 full days and 3 hours a week so I'm just going to Take 6 months off. The nursery is round the corner from work so I can bfeed till 12 months again. I took a full year ml with dd1 but it was a bit much tbh.

I'm having a party for my toddler mummy friends and families for the royal wedding tomorrow so I'm going to be busy!

Wishwales - keep up the good staying put work, less than 12 hours and your 26 weeks!!! Best to take it a day at a time I am told. Do you have any DVD box sets to watch?

I am blooming, well and true 23 pounds on so far, still I'm told it's all bump Hmm. Not worrying too much cause I know it's a lot of fluid, which went in the first week last time!

yukana I sympathise regarding your ESA claim, a lot of my clients are experiencing similar problems! I can only advise ringing them every day chasing them ( which is a major pita and can be stressful)

Dd is in big girl knickers today for the first time, fingers crossed it goes well! I hope I only have one dc in nappies in august! I'm going to go swimming to keep active later, still going to the gym and I'm getting a few funny looks from the regulars working out with a bump!

nickstermum · 28/04/2011 18:25

wish wales - spotted you are on strict bedrest...FX everything is ok and little one is ok

wheresmytractor · 28/04/2011 21:04

Hi all
Been a while since i last posted, its just been sooooo hectic! DH has a new job in Cornwall so we are moving just around the due date Confused So our house is on the market, sale agreed, but the village we want to move to has nothing suitable. Anyone lived in rented for a bit after selling thier house and looking for another? Did it go ok? Feeling a bit stressed, but after reading about what some of you are going through I feel blessed. wishwales all the best honey, lets hope she's tucked up safe for a good while yet. Yukana hope things get better soon for you.

My bubba is growing nicely, saw the midwife on Tuesday. mrsvidic glad someone else has put on more than a stone, some of you ladies have put on virtually nothing! (jealous!) I have put on 2 stone so far, but i did the same with my last 2 and it all came off in the end. Its not helped by my inactivity due to my dodgy hips and pgp. I'll be glad when she is here!

Anyone had more than one c section? How did the 2nd compare to the first? did the scar take longer to heal?

Take care lovely ladies x

aStarInStrangeways · 28/04/2011 21:30

wishwales sending lots of positive stay-put vibes to your LO. I really hope you're feeling rested and relaxed and that things are going well.

emma congratulations on your baby girl :)

to everyone else, I am feeling pretty crap and tired today so about to get into bed Blush Bump is massive, or so it seems, and the baby has given me a hammering today after a few days of being a bit quieter. It's probably her way of telling me to stress out less Grin This week is always awful for me as it's the anniversary of my darling brother's death, which means anxiety and general bummed-outness.

alibaba76 · 28/04/2011 23:50

MrsVidic and wheresmytractor I have also put on quite a lot of weight - 21lbs at the moment. Mostly boobs and bump, just a little difference in my face, and arms (can tell by my watch strap).

I've also just finalised Maternity Leave - off for a whole year! I've been working full-time for 17 years, so this will come as a welcome change. Reckon I've paid my dues wouldn't you say? Think we'll be ok financially during the year, but when I go back on reduced hours, not sure how we'll cope. Need to see how the spending goes during the year off.....

MrsVidic · 29/04/2011 07:10

alibaba I took a full year with my first and would thoroughly recommend doing it, the reason I'm going backs for a break ( I'll have 2 under 3) ! I loved my mat leave for the first 10 months last time, really gave me a good chance of building up a social circle of mummy mates! I could never return to ft until my dc are a LOT older. Indeed my close mummy friend has just taken voluntary redundancy as she hated the hours, you have to factor in childcare etc.

I would recommend people begin to research childcare and tax credits at this stage. Dp and I got all paperwork prepared before due date so it was a quick sign and send once dd arrived and we got the birth certificate!

Well I'm going now as everyone else is still in bed (I cannot lie in for some myseterious reason) so I'm going to regain control of the remote!

KLou111 · 29/04/2011 09:33

Happy bank holiday and Royal Wedding Day all [csmile]

Just had to put a sheet on conservatory roof lol so can see the TV. Another gorgeous day here, hope the same for the Royals.
Bet Kate is KAKKING herself!

LifeOfKate · 29/04/2011 11:34

Hehe, KLou, I had a similar thought! She looks very tired, I bet she didn't sleep much last night Confused

Am thinking of getting something small and royal wedding related for the new baby since they'll be born in the same year... not quite sure what yet though...

Bryher · 29/04/2011 20:44

Still team blue! Tho am not quite believing it, as I have heard a couple of stories now of people told blue at scan and it later turns out to be pink...

Oops, ages since I've been on here and posted - a couple of weekends away and too much to do and not enough time or energy! There's too much to catch up on to reply to all but will do what I can! Happily have got lots of second hand things from my cousin so am feeling a liitle more prepared for baby now. Also have bought a Chicco Liteway pushchair nearly new from ebay, cot bed and travel cot from Mothercare, is good to be getting a bit organised :) However, DH has decided to repaint and recarpet the nursery so lots to do yet. We're getting jungle and under sea wall stickers to brighten things up. We're going away for a week up near Edinburgh so will be nice to get away for a bit, but half of me thinks we should be stopping at home and decorating, lol.

RE plans for nursery / bedroom, we have a sofa bed in the nursery so I'm going to sleep in there to make nightime feeds easier, start him off in moses basket and then move him to cotbed when he's bigger. Decided not to put him in our room as three cats are used to hanging out in there and will cause hassle, easier to keep them out of nursery and get them used to it from now.

RE movement - I am now 24 weeks and still only feeling movement from time to time, tho def feeling it sometimes now! I think it may be because I am rather chubby, sadly. I always feel so reassured when I do feel him kick, even when he's' dancing on my bladder. Am happy to say I've hardly put any weight on at all, that is such a relief when I was too overweight already.littlemissw Thanks for explaining about not needing to worry about movement till third trimester, that helps so much!

Oh, and I have now developed the dreaded night time cramps - they are so evil!

I got a mother's day card from Freddie - my DH says that's what the bump's called now!

Congratulations on all the scans, can't wait till my next one later in May. Good luck for all upcoming scans!

Welcome MonkeeMummy and bebemooneedsabreak and Jokat!

Yukana Really sorry to hear the new place didn't work out. Also sorry to hear about your Mum, and troubles househunting. If your mum gets so bad she is a danger to herself or others you could see about getting her sectioned? Really hope you can find somewhere to move to and get away soon... hugs

Bettyboo I'm still planning on the BeSafe Izi seat, just need to get round to driving down to York to see it in the shop and see if it fits properly in the car. Sorry to hear about your Grandma :(

Leilandri and wheresmytractor Hope things worked out OK with your DHs' jobs - my DH was made redundant last Nov, but has just started a new job this week which is a great relief - otherwise my maternity leave was going to be v short indeed! It isn't a good time with cuts everywhere so I hope things are OK. Leilandri I like Evan Rhys, but both sound good

Firawla Sorry to hear flat hunting not going well - hope things have improved now

RugbyWidow Hope antibiotics have worked and chest infection has gone, there seem to be some nasty ones going round now

MorningsMadness Congrats on the twins

MrsStevo - so sorry to hear about your traumatic time, sounds terrifying :( Fantastic to hear that they are both doing better!

KLou So glad to hear someone else is scared shitless re the birth, I am doing my best not to think about it as it terrifies me!

wishwales Sorry to hear about the funneling, and you're now stuck in hospital, that sounds scary. I hope you are doing OK - good that they are looking after you and monitoring you closely. Good that you are already over 24 weeks too! Thinking of you hugs

star Hope you are feeling better today, sounds a bad week for you so hope things get better soon.

littlemisslozza · 30/04/2011 07:57

I have a Freddie Bryher, really suits him!

wishwales · 30/04/2011 09:47

Thank you all for the thoughts and support. I was so happy to reach 26 weeks yesterday. We were rushed to delivery on Tuesday night because I was having contractions but we are quietly back on strict bed rest in the maternity ward now. I have finally had a few visitors as well. My husband's family is hopeless and all of my family are in Florida. I have not lived in Wales long enough to have many friends. It is tough but it helps to log in here and see what y'all have to say.

klou no, they have no idea how long she will hold on. They told me not to leave the ward because the waters could easily break now as they are bulging out of the cervix :(

neverlookback yes, this is my first - so scary

bebemoo A couple people have suggested knitting but I am hopeless! I have some Nintendo DS games, sudoku, coloring books, reading books, etc. So far, I am managing fine.

I do hope that everyone is having a smooth pregnancy til now and will continue to feel healthy and positive. The messages in your brain are so important during all of this.

KTisPG · 30/04/2011 10:04

Hang in there Wishwales you're doing fantastically well - I don't know how I'd cope in your situation. I guess every extra day now is a blessing. You're in my prayers.

OP posts:
MrsVidic · 30/04/2011 10:51

Wishwales fantastic you've got to 26 weeks, it must be really difficult to have all your family so far away. Can you skype from your bed?

wishwales · 30/04/2011 12:54

mrsvidic Yes, I am able to skype!!!

MrsVidic · 30/04/2011 13:01

At least you can speak to your family, try not to go too out of your mind. Far easier said than done, I know. How often do the doctors check you? Do they give you an indication of how long you could go- have you seen south sea rocks thread?

wishwales · 30/04/2011 14:51

mrsvidic The obstetrician checks me once a day unless my pain gets worse or changes and then they come again right away. The midwives check her heartbeat twice a day. I am getting good care. They have no idea how long it will be. The only thing they have said definitively is that my cervix won't go back to being closed but even with that I could hold out for a while still OR I could go today. UGH. 2 cm dilated now. I started looking at her thread, yes, thanks. I will gradually read more.

sisterT · 30/04/2011 15:03

I'm keeping fingers and legs crossed for you, wishwales. 26weeks is a big milestone tho' and every day in is a positive. Take lots of care. x
