Raspberry leaf Brew and Biscuit all round.

Continuation from here. No Mofo C bombs yet been dropped in the delivery room although our first 2 babies have arrived. Congrats to gormers and Jo, we hope your little ones are still doing great.

Just home from church and lunch with my mum. Was besieged by well-wishers and sat next to my singing teacher as mum was in the choir. My singing teacher is in her eighties and used to work at the Royal Opera House and she's fabulously dramatic and told me having babies is 'Marvelous!'. Her advice was to get lots of gas and air as 'it's fabulous stuff' and she asked me to sneak some out of the hospital for her Smile

Baby liked the singing and wriggles throughout!

Happy Mothers Day to all the mummies and soon to be mummies!! :)

I am 37 weeks today so hopefully just another 3 weeks to go (or less if I'm lucky) Beginning to feel very uncomfortable over the last few days, think baby has gotten huge all of a sudden and is bashing about all over the place in there - it's reassuring but annoying! Other than that still no other signs of impending early labour. Still getting period like cramps now and again but still not totally sure it isn't related to my bowel, whenever I need the loo I get really uncomfortable (TMI!!)

Very envious of all of you who have the patience to do lots of home cooking for freezing, I really don't think I could muster the energy for that, plus our freezer is a bit too small to store much. Definitely sounds like a good idea though. Have been thinking about doing some baking the last few days ( really not like me) and could perhaps freeze some of that. Still waiting for the nesting urge to kick in but no such luck on that front yet!! Luckily with DP being away it's far easier to keep the house tidy with just one person living in it!

JustKeepSwimming · 03/04/2011 18:11

Been for a wallow in the pool, then home for more of the same in the bath, then a nap & just had a yummy roast (thanks DH).

Have to thank whoever recommended Kate Atkinson (Behind the scenes) - read it in less than 24 hours, totally ignoring housework, DC, jobs, etc!!

Will have a look in the library to see what else they have of hers. Though i don't really get how the title relates much to the story.

Also have Rachel Cusk (country life) book to read.

lucielooo · 03/04/2011 18:51

Well feeling a lot better this afternoon after basically doing nothing all day. Had a lovely snooze on the sofa, and was only woken by the familiar sound of DP snoring on the other sofa :) :)

Any tips on getting a good nights sleep? I haven't had one for ages! I've already got a cushion mountain as I seem to sleep better sitting up - being able to breathe is a big help! And hae a warm bath before bed but the minute I get into bed I feel wide awake/uncomfortable and can't sleep for hours and hours it's so frustrating as I'm knackered!

So did you all have good Mother's days? DP said that as I'm nearly mummy and haven't been feeling great that I must do absolutely nothing today. But then giggled and said 'which means I also can do nothing'. I think he is very scared by my big fat To Do List :) :)

Cyclebump · 03/04/2011 19:36

Dunno what is wrong with me this afternoon but I have totally wilted. SPD flared up massively, then baby decided to rest up in a position that made me feel like I was going to poo him out Blush

Had a reeeeeeeally long bath. Curled up on my side in the water and finally felt comfy but am now the world's biggest prune!

Tomorrow is my EDD so maybe I'm just resting up ready for the big event.

LisMcA · 03/04/2011 19:55

Well thats my mummy gone home :(. I probably wont see her again until I'm a mummy! That's scary! I am knackered today! It was all that cleaning yesterday!!

I gave myself a scare too. Was draining the pasta for tea and somehow managed to pour the boiling water all over my bump! Promptly burst into tears, but got cold water on it right away. There wasn't even a mark, but felt like the worst mother in the world. Can't even keep my baby safe in the womb!

Cycle I get the "poo out" feeling all the time. Usually after a while on the yoda ball!

JenAT · 03/04/2011 21:05

lucieloo i wish I could get some sleep too. I can sleep for about an hour then wake either needing to wee or being really uncomfortable. Dh has to sleep in the spare room otherwise he would be woken every hour by me grunting and groaning.

*Cycle I also get the "poo out" feeling too. Like a pressure right down into my bottom. Sometimes when I'm walking it literally feels like baby is going to drop out suddenly. I also get wierd hiccupy feeling right down near my cervix.

Been out for tea with parents-in-law and DH brothers family which was nice until Sister in law and mother in law had an argument over how to discipline her kids. Sister-in-law stormed out of restaurant, mother-in-law in toilet in tears. Me and DH and his brother stuck in middle of it. Dd completely oblivious bless her just sat there quietly scoffing her chocolate ice-cream. I love the fact that she lets nothing distract her from her love of ice-cream. (thats my girl!) Grin

Cyclebump · 03/04/2011 21:44

Ouch Lis, glad you're ok x

Oh no Jen, how awkward. Love the sound of your DD though, a girl should never be distracted from her icecream!

Good to know I'm not the only one feeling bottom pressure, I was starting to think I was wired up wrongly down there. Hmmmm, not going to have a mother's day baby but at least I know it's a maximum of 14 days til baby time from tomorrow as they won't let me go longer than that!

Liv77 · 04/04/2011 00:04

I'll update the stats and give the details later but just a quick post to say that I had a baby girl
Phoebe Lily Poppy on 31st March at 2.52am. Home yesterday, so spent Mother's Day at home with my children Grin

LisMcA · 04/04/2011 00:23

Congratulations Liv! Beautiful name for a lovely little girl! (Girls are catching up)

Happy Mothers Day!

For anyone else lurking at this time of night, back ache plus increased movement and general period pain discomfort (constant, not coming and going). Does that mean anything? I really want to sleep, but can't lie down, sit up or stand for longer than 15 minutes.

Petalouda · 04/04/2011 01:22

Congratulations Liv!

Lis, i'm up breastfeeding! mine started off constant. Had constant pain for a couple of hours till it became recognisable waves.

JustKeepSwimming · 04/04/2011 06:21

Congratulations Liv :)
Was just thinking it was about time for another announcement.

Lis - the evening before i went into labour with DS1 i couldn't settle/get comfy at all. Could be the start of something, good luck!

Not a great night sleep here either, kept want to lie on my right side but that hip is in agony for some reason so had to stay on my left.
Got lots of little things i want to get done today, so no baby for me just yet thanks!

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 04/04/2011 06:23

Oooh congratulations Liv! I love the name Phoebe :)

Lis sounds promising although not very conduicive to sleep

How are things going petal?

Cycle I get that feeling too and then I think baby disengages because the pressure down there lifts and I can't breathe again! It's the final countdown for you Grin Gotta say your singin teacher sounds fab!

JKS wallowing in water is totally the way to go at the moment. Sounds like you had a lovely Mothers Day :)

lucie try a few drops of lavender oil in a diffuser or a burner to help your mind switch off. Not that I'm that successful at getting to sleep but at least once I do I sort of stay there for 3/4 hours at a stretch.

Jen oh dear :( glad your DD wasn't put off what's important but not ideal, especially on Mother's Day!

Justkeep Glad you loved 'Behind The Scenes' - it's a fab book and one I've re-read loads of times. Look forward to hearing what you think about 'Country Life'.

Liv Congratulations! Lovely news and a lovely name. Really looking forward to hearing the details.

One of my daughters woke up at 5.40am this morning moaning about a "crunchy bed" which necessitated re-puffing her pillow and duvet. It was a relief to give up the pretence of sleep after that and read my book as I'd spent most of the night trying and failing to get comfortable.

Pedicure and bikini wax again today. Neither really needed but what the hell...

Cyclebump · 04/04/2011 07:47

Congratulations Liv! Lovely name and how nice to be back home for mothers day Smile

I'm sooooo uncomfy today, was so hard to sleep that I ended up on the sofa again but DP hasn't slept either as I kept him awake and then he was all worried about me.

But...

Happy due date to me, want to meet my baby, get out of my bellllllly, mummy's sick of constant wees!

Yes, it would appear I've finally lost my mind!

1stTimeMother · 04/04/2011 07:59

Liv congratulations! what a beautiful name.

Cycle hope baby comes soon - sending yoda bounces your way.

Think I overdid things slightly yesterday as my pelvis and hips are really sore and not moving as smoothly as they were. Aiming to take it easy today - although got builders in (finger's crossed this is the last time...) but just focusing on preparing nursery after they're gone. Nesting to come!

Thaney · 04/04/2011 08:43

Congratulations Liv!

Happy DD Cycle & Jen

JenAT · 04/04/2011 08:57

Another baby! Congratulations Liv, welcome to the world baby Phoebe.

Happy dd Cycle, another sleepless night here too. Had dull period like backache but nothing now.

Kitstwins pedicure sounds lovely, not so sure about the bikini wax, although I could sure do with one. I have a dense forest down below,in major need of some pruning!

Justkeepswimming hope you get everything done you have planned, but also get some chill out time too.

MrsWajs · 04/04/2011 09:38

Congratulations Liv - love the name too! :)

Also should have said congrats in yesterdays post to lowra and Ali on their new arrivals too!! I blame baby brain!

Kits I'm also having a pedicure next Tuesday but not brave enough to have bikini wax done no matter how badly it's needed!!

Wondering if the "poo out" feeling some of you are experiencing is the same thing that I'm feeling? Been achey down below since I got up this morning and no sign of it shifting - definitely feels like it's in my bum!! Hmm wish I knew what was normal and what wasn't!!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 04/04/2011 09:56

Another new arrival - hurrah! Congratulations on the arrival of Pheobe Liv Smile

Sitting on my yoda ball makes me need to poo as well and whilst I haven't got diahorria (sp?!), when I need to go, I need to go. Thought I'd share that with you!

My problem with sleep is waking up too early because I'm achey and sore. However I am seeing the Osteopath tomorrow and after I've seen her I feel like I've been oiled, it is divine. My pelvis and bum is extra achey as I done something really stupid on Friday, infact as soon as I done it I thought 'that was a stupid idea.'

DS ran off, so I ran (well, of a fashion) after him, picked him up and slung him over my shoulder. DS is just over 2 stone - what an idiot I am.

It's a beautiful day here today so ds and I are off into the garden shortly.

kittycatcat · 04/04/2011 10:37

Congrats on the arrival of phoebe liv. a lovely name.

Happy d day cycle and Jen

Looking good lis fingers crossed for you.

Cyclebump · 04/04/2011 11:25

ILTMIMI I'm continually doing silly things and thinking 'oh I'll just pop to the shops' or 'I'll just sweep under that table' and I regret it for ages as I realise I'm exhausted halfway home or I can't get up because my pelvis hurts too much!

I never thought I'd say it Jen but I'm jealous of your period-like back pain, I've had absolutely no sign that labour is imminent. So annoying. Got asked by my teenage God brother whether I was scared of the burgh yesterday, I could honestly say I'm not because I just want baby out Smile

I'm trying to be stoic and thinking about the ladies on here with a while to go yet, at least I know it's 14 days max from now!

LisMcA · 04/04/2011 13:56

I would really like to say this is an update to tell you all I'm in labour! But I'm bloody not!

Up until about 3 this morning with the cramping. Finally got to sleep, woke at 6.30 with DH, then snoozed on and off till nearly 12. Got up had a bath with Clary Sage, think I had a bit of a show if the green snot analogy is to be believed. The started getting sharp pains in my side after bath. Got v excited and rolled out the contraction timer app. But since then nothing! I am not a patient person at all. I can't do this uncertainty.

I'm off to eat the bag of fun size bars in my hospital bag in the hope that makes me feel better!

AussieMum2Be · 04/04/2011 14:23

Liv Congratulations to you and baby girl Phoebe Lily Poppy, very jealous that you had your new baby girl for Mothers day.

Chilli Cooked some of the choc chip cookie dough last night, yum, yum, yum, i ate 6 !!! and i feel like more today, im thinking of putting a layer of vanilla ice-cream between 2 !! Feel happy just thinking about it !!

Cycle & Jen Happy EDD, enjoy the day

Im so glad you guys mentioned the pooping out the baby feeling as I just started getting it this week and was thinking, hmmmm, hope she aint coming out that way !

Well its my last week at work and 8 days till EDD, Ive started taking bets on delivery date/predictions, 1 x 1 day early, 1 x 2 days early, 1 x 1 day late, 2 x late in general, 1 x on due date, 1 x 2 weeks late, 11lbs and wrong sex (Thanks for that prediction !!) and my dad has 7 days late at 3.20pm. Ive told the girls the prize is a live streaming of the birth for their viewing enjoyment, strangely i havent received any more bets placed !! he he

I had a feeling at the beginning it was going to be late, then i started feeling early and now i just dont know, no signs of baby and actually feeling ok, just a little tired in the mornings. Hope this is a good sign of a smooth delivery to come !!

caramellokoalalover · 04/04/2011 14:37

Welcome Phoebe! Congrats Liv, hope all is going well. And hope those with babies in their arms for Mother's Day yesterday are all well too.

Glad the 'poo out' feeling is not uncommon. Confusion between 'is this labour or do I just need a poo' is not nice. Gets my hopes up too for an early baby. I'm 38+1...come on baby!

My mum has arrived from Australia so all set for having baby now...although I think she needs to speak to your mum Lis because she's not offered to clean under the couch yet Hmm.

Aussie are you working until the day before your EDD? Amazed if so!

I think I read someone wise on MN once say that the discomfort of late pregnancy is so we don't fear the birth so much. We just want the baby out. I'm starting to feel very much like that already. Don't care how it happens, just bring it on.

Off to trawl back through the thread for the cookie dough recipe to see if I can do some baking this afternoon.
