day 4....still no poo Shock Wink

ledkr am jealous of you getting to the gym - some things are alot easier to organise when you're not bfing - just the whole thing of needing to express to leave DD with someone while I go to the gym and timing feeds is just too complicated for me at the minute (not to mention my bad back). We are trying to go for walks with the buggy but eating lots of choc eggs is not helping my weight loss.

went to work today to see hello and was nice to see everyone but feels like a world away. my mat replacement wasn't there but I snooped enquired how she was getting along and apparently has said to staff how she could leave any time she wants and she doesn't need this job Shock when she's had problems and also having problems with behaviour management in some of my classes and apparently the students want me back as they know where they stand with me Grin . I'm a bit Confused at the mess I'll have to sort out when I return though. Anyone else know/wondering how their mat cover work people are getting along?

OP posts:
ledkr · 26/04/2011 14:49

i dont have cover and there are 3 other women on mat leave so they are on skeleton staff, rememeber my nightmare pregnant colleague well she had a boy,it was a big one and i wondered if she'd needed intensive care after the birth, considering the fuss she made about an easy pg.Grin
I want to go back before her as she will be expecting huge allowances for her one child and 9-5 hubby when im struggling with 2 kids and dh who works shifts, ill end up lamping her haha.
Got a bit done today as Ella is back at school for 3 days,D slept and i sorted out all the mat clothes for car boot and also baby stuff.
It is hard to do anything when bf,i remember. Its quite hard with d tho cos of her special meds and feeding, this friend is one of the chosen ones. Am going to try and go 3 times a week for an hr,the diet is goin g ok apart from the wine and chocolate haha

WanderingSheep · 26/04/2011 14:55

When do you go back to work angels? Your cover sounds like a pita. I hope she doesn't leave too much crap for you when you get back!

Day 2 of my sensible eating - it's not going so well, lol. I've just eaten 2 jammy dodgers and a chocolate mousse Blush. I'm trying not to deny myself too much though as it will send me crazy. I have DD1's Easter eggs sat on the table taunting me! It's a good job they're hers otherwise they'd be gone by now!

Is anyone else doing "my fitness pal"? I'm tying to but the stingy bastard has only given me 1200 cals, which is quite hard to stick too unless I do loads of exercise. I guess that's the point though Hmm.

wigglesrock · 26/04/2011 19:45

Hello, back from the seaside, knackered and sand in peculiar places Grin Had lovely time dd1 and 2 went swimming (brr) and A slept, had a few bottles, slept some more, sounds like me in my 20's!!!!

Afraid to try on the dress I'm supposed to be wearing for the Christening - overdone the chocolate and now waiting on Dominos Blush

Have uploaded some photos if any fancies a nosy!!

debka · 26/04/2011 20:24

Hi everyone! We survived our 4 nights in a hotel, spent rather a lot of time at 6am in the corridor with Sabine though Hmm. It was bloody hard work at the show trying to entertain 2 children but I managed (supermum). Didn't get back till 1.30am Monday night, then had to feed S, got to bed myself at 2, then she woke up for the day at 5.45 Angry. She and I went back to bed about 7, then I stirred at 8 hearing her crying, went in and it took AGES for her to calm down, goodness knows how long she was crying for before I woke up Blush.

angels S doesn't poo often either, last one was Thursday, it's bfing for you. DD1 once went about 12 days and when she finally went she was in the sling and it went EVERYWHERE.

Re weaning I did BLW with DD1, she never had baby rice or jars or anything, I am such a lazy mother Blush, never made up a bottle or pureed a carrot in my life!

ledkr S is like D I think, ready for bed by 7 (actually I think she'd happily go down at 5 some nights), but up for the day at 5 or 6. I think it's because they get up so early, we just have to persevere with the 7.30 (or whatever) bedtimes till they get it. Met a chap at the weekend whose 2 girls get up at 4.30am every day, have done for years, can you IMAGINE?? Luckily he's a baker so rises early for that, but still.

[wiggles] I like your pics, Anna's going to look like her sisters isn't she!

wigglesrock · 26/04/2011 20:38

Debka Glad you managed to survive the hotel Grin , dd1 went through a stage from 11-15 months old of being up and ready for the world at 4.00am, she would still be an early riser from 6.30am now but those few months were slightly soul destroying!!!

Yup think all three girls will be slight variations on each other, slightly different hair colouring etc but basically the same look!!!

slowangels1 · 26/04/2011 20:58

great piccies wiggles - weather looks good at the sea side Grin

well done supermum debka Grin

quick q - having pn check/alices check with doc and jabs tomorrow - do they weigh them at this check up? just I need to have alice weighed this week anyway and really can't be bothered to make a special hospital trip on thurs if I can get doc/nurse to do it when I'm seeing them anyway IYKWIM.

Alice in a bit of an odd mood all day - think she is getting frustrated with lack of pooing as lots of terrible smelling wind and looks like she wants to go but nothing happens. She's refusing to go to sleep now and it's an hour past her usual bed time Confused hope I get some sleep Hmm

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 26/04/2011 21:36

slowangels A wasn't weighed at her jab appt - lots of bum, heart, eye checking but no weighing!!! Try wiping around Alice's bum with warm water and cotton wool- can sometimes help to move things along Smile

Grannyapple · 26/04/2011 22:02

angels Nate had his 8 wk check & then his jabs appt today & yes he got weighed today...I was same as u & didn't want 2 trips!!

Re lack of poos...I have a friend who is bf & she has a pear about an hour before feeding baby & this apparently helped move things along..

WanderingSheep · 26/04/2011 22:31

Wow, check out the royal smileys!!!! [cgrin] [cgrin]

Woohoo! Just found out that DD1 has been accepted into our first choice Primary School! [cgrin]

WanderingSheep · 26/04/2011 22:34

Angels I had DD weighed when she had hers last week but she didn't need to be.

ledkr · 26/04/2011 22:39

Angels have you tried some water? D has some everyday a the meds make her constipated.
D saw the dietician today, she is 12 5 and on the right line for her age etc, they want to keep her on the special milk tho.I am so in love with her at the mo,she is all smiles and saves her cackles for when Ella is around, have swapped swaddle for a gro bag and she seems ok.I took her into the hospital from the car in her sling, its a bright sparks one, really nice to use, everyone was comiong up to look,it took ages to get thru the hospital.

Deb did you feel lovely getting home?I found it hard being away with D as didnt have all my stuff, vibro chair, swing, gym, sky movies(early morning horror films)comfy bed and sofa, well equipt kitchen, ive been really settled since i got home, its as if you need to rough it to appreciate how easy you have it.Good thing about being an older Mum is that i am an early bird so the early morns dont bother me-as long as its past 6-if i didnt have D id probably be in the garden pottering or getting in the post office queue early Grin

ledkr · 26/04/2011 22:41

woo look at us all up late, now we are not pg or up 72 times a night Grin

MizK · 26/04/2011 23:45

wiggles love the pics, your girls are super cute!

Congrats on the school place wandering the wait to find out is oddly nerve wracking!

Glad I'm not the only one succumbing to easter eggs - they are just too good. Felt a bit down today tho, went out for early dinner/cocktails with mates but really struggled with what to wear. Got into my skinnies with a fitted T but muffin top was hideous, had to wear a blazer over top and put it on every time I got up from my seat. I know its silly but feeling fat really spoiled my night cause I felt guilty for drinking and eating calorific food, yet I really look forward to nights out so don't want to eat salad and drink tonic water when I do! Sorry to moan but you ladies seem to 'get' it more than RL people?
Oh well I shall stop moaning, just fed Cass and she will be awake again at 3 (still up twice a night sadly!)So better go to sleep, night all..........

tadjennyp · 27/04/2011 05:48

Ponyo - not up early, just 8 hours behind!

Glad you both had lovely times away wiggles and debka. Great photos too!

Also eating kids' Easter choc, MizK. Cannot even do my normal jeans up so still in my early maternity ones. Those, one skirt and my joggers are all I can fit into at the moment so really need to start shifting that weight!

I hope you get some movement soon angels. Ledkr's advice good. I find pears and plums work for me too grannyapple! In fact, S has been sick a lot today and I had a nice, hot curry last night. It's either that or the chocolate! [cblush]

janedoe25 · 27/04/2011 07:23

wiggles your girls are gorgeous!
wandering excellent news about the school!

angles i'm Shock there is still no pooh, poor A hope she is not uncomfortable with it.

Oh mizk that was me on Saturday night too, im so self concious at the minute but i must stop eating chocolate!

slowangels1 · 27/04/2011 07:27

Day 5 - still no poo Shock

ledkr how much water should I give - I have no idea!

mizk I completely understand about feeling fat spoiling things - I actually didn't want to go to PILs house at easter (not just because of MIL Wink ) because SIL was there and she has lost loads of weight recently and I have put on loads, so I felt ashamed of myself Blush .

My TV signal keeps going for some reason - hope it sorts itself out for the royal wedding - mum is coming over to watch it on my 'big' (ir bigger than her tiny one) TV. Was quite looking forward to it but all this hype
everywhere is makign me a bit bored of it now.

Hoping Alice will get weighed at the appointment today then.

Tarlia · 27/04/2011 07:33

Im always up early, ponyo, . Z just doesnt sleep! His routine was 10-10 so OH could see him after work and I got a lay in in the morning, with at least 2 or 3 feds in the night, but lately he has been going 10-5. With a fed at 2.30, and after the 5am feed he wriggles, kicks and cries and refuses to go to sleep, which is exhausting. Did you enjoy your curry lunch yesterday?

I think wiggles was talking about food she loves so hoovers up. I can't believe you do not like beach chips [cshock]

Must be the curry, tad. Don't blame the chocolate [cwink]

ILovePonyo · 27/04/2011 08:02

Eek angels hope you don't end up on day 6 no poo for your sake! The tv signal isn't anything to do with digital switchover is it?

Sorry tadjenny, glad you weren't up early then! [cgrin]

tarlia curry lunch was lovely ta, lots of people there cooing over dd too which always makes me proud! Shock at the lack of sleep for you, dd usually wakes and grunts from about 5ish too but I don;t have to get up in the night to feed her before that lucky for me, sounds exhausting for you.

lovely pics wiggles, very cute [csmile]

ledkr is D alright without the swaddling then? I'm dreading stopping swaddling dd a bit, she seems to sleep so well with it... Glad things went well at dietician.

I'm also going to have a moan about how rubbish I feel about my weight, I'm definitely getting fatter since giving birth with all the easter eggs/general crap I've been eating. It doesn't help that dp is skinny so when he makes mash for tea (like last night) he'll put a load of butter in, and prefers frying things to grilling etc. Which all tastes so much nicer too [cgrin]

Taking dd to get weighed today, its been weeks since she was last weighed.

Bensmum76 · 27/04/2011 08:33

Angels, we have the opposite problem with Noah. I think he has caught a tummy bug from Ben as had pooed loads in the last two days nd it's been very runny! I thought it might have been cos he's been having so much milk but I may have been wrong especially as Noah was very unsettled last night. He didn't go down after his last feed and kept crying, we tried giving him more milk but that didn't work, I then thought ge might ve dehydrated as his fontanelle was slightly sunken so we gave him water. He still wouldn't go down so ended up in with me. Dh then fed him at 1am and he finally went down in his cot,but then was awake from 4! and ended up in ith me again from 5.30! So I am exhausted today! I think his early waking is the problem, as I always hear him awake about an hour or so before he cries then comes in with us, so he obviously can't settle himself. Am thinking it might be time to try him for naps in his cot again as he's not getting the chance to learn to settle himself. What do y'all think?
Debka, glad your break was good, although busy!
Noah has his check and jabs to tomorrow and we've been told to get him weighed today, plus have his head and length measured.
Also have baby massage this afternoon so looking forward to that!

wigglesrock · 27/04/2011 08:48

Bensmum Sorry little Noah isn't well - give the napping in the cot a go, good luck

Yes I meant hoovering up food in an earlier post - sorry for any confusion, although I am now having mental images of Idris Elba vacuuming in the nip, never a bad thing Grin

Lol at Lekr and the postoffice, my sister swears I'm the only person under the age of 70 that uses the postoffice!!!

Am taking girls swimming soon, it was one of their Easter treats, they each got to pick something they wanted to do over this week - the beach and swimmers were top of the list - to be honest they both wanted the Disney shop but I vetoed that Grin

ledkr · 27/04/2011 09:00

bm,d kis now sleeping till 8 but from about 5 is fidgety and noisy so i wake up,last night i wore ear plugs as its doing my nut itn,it worked a treat,dh sleeps heavier but would wake for crying,i think the wiggling is their attempt at self settling.Sorry to go on but the baby whisperers easy routine helped d loads, she kind of self settles for day naps.Hope he feels better today, its a worry when they have the shits(cant spell the d word)
Mizk,if you are in your skinnys you have no need to feel bad well done you, never mind the muffin top i have a great swathe of flab on my tummy its gross. The weight has really got me down too,its good to read others in same position,my food is ok now its my wine and chocolate intake thats the prob,
i have a wedding in june and will not be going if i cant lose some.
ponyoD has been ok in her gro bag in fact slept the best ever,i felt sad to stop but she was wriggling free and getting all bundled up,she is 13 wks now tho Shock
angels D wont take water from a bottle so i give it her from a syringe and only about 20mls,the more the better for A i should imagine.I read on mn a lady whoes bf baby didnt pooh for 17 days apparently their bodies use all the milk up so no wasteage, have you asked your hv?
Well gym today,i will let you know how it goes, just got my 2nd period since birth, last one was terrible so am gritting my teeth.
Ella is off to a st party with my mum Fri,dh is at work so i ma going to do my davina and then watch sky movies all day friday, have no interest whatsoevr in the bloody wedding.,is that bad?

ILovePonyo · 27/04/2011 09:24

Wow ledkr D is 13 weeks [cshock] Glad to hear she slept well in her gro bag, it gives me hope too Good luck at the gym, I'm well impressed, I hate the bloody gym! And I have no interest in the royal wedding either, am going to my mums Friday and enjoying being out in the nice countryside and being looked after Grin

bensmum poor little Noah, sounds so tiring for you :( I don't see why trying him for naps in his cot is a bad idea, worth a go definitely. How are you getting on with baby massage? They do it at a surestart near me and am really wanting to go but I always seem to be busy when its on.

I've just found some baby clothes I bought for dd that are too bloody small for her now Confused I never had a chance to put them on her!

Bensmum76 · 27/04/2011 09:24

I'm only excited about the wedding cos were going to a street party! Dh is worryingly excited, am sure hes actually a girl!
Ledkr, I've got the baby whisperer book and keep meaning to try it out, the shush pat worked to get Noah to sleep in his cot last week for a nap. I ended up feeling that I was spending my whole day with Noah trying to get him to sleep, as by the time he's eaten ( he takes about an hour as likes to keep going back to his bottle) it was time to put him down for a nap again!
As dh is home this week I might give it a go again as I'll have his support with it.

debka · 27/04/2011 11:49

Feeling v rested here today, as S went down at 7.30 as normal, woke at 5 for a feed then BACK TO SLEEP TILL 8.30!! Twas heaven, I stayed in bed till 8!!!! She can do that every day :)

bensmum how long do you let Noah cry for in his cot before rescuing him? I put S down in her room, go and hang the washing out or make a cake or something, just so I don't hear any crying, then when I get back she's asleep. I can't listen to the crying but know she needs to have a bit of a moan to get off to sleep sometimes.

I keep berating myself for being so fat but doing absolutely nothing about it. Am eating crap and loads of it and my trousers are getting tighter each day. Someone tell me to pull myself together!!

I can't wait for the royal wedding (sorry ponyo!), having some family over here to watch with us, we'll have a barbecue if the weather's fine.
