er (b) in answer to your question! but I've found I'm sick and tired of worrying about it and frankly bored of the whole thing which is making me feel much better able to cope! also cos he's been out of my hair for a couple of days and no upset for 48 hours I've had a chance to get my head together.
Sorry you felt upset, these things strike us out of the blue don't they when least expected. We are well on the way now, so please don't worry. have a good day if you can with all those rugrats!

Nemo666 · 21/10/2005 09:29

lol good attitude to P jus thope you know whats happening wiht the house etc soonish.
suppose i best make a move

kangel · 21/10/2005 10:35

OMG!!! You lot can talk!!! A new thread and already 178 messages!!!!!!! I'm shocked

Haven't been able to get on here as I have been so busy at work. I have been given a load of stuff that I have to have completed before I leave plus catch up on the backlog and believe me I have a huge backlog. Doesn't help that my Maternity cover has handed her notice in and leaves on the 11th, my replacement starts around the 20th Nov but is on study leave and has exams for 2 weeks which leaves about a week of training before I leave. Lots of overtime coming up for me again this month but at least its extra money. Could do with slowing down though.

Anyway I am in a bit of a dilema and am not sure what to do. As you all know I found lice in my hair on Tuesday (nicely caught from SDD - well we do tell her its good to share!!) Since then DP has combed my hair out every morning and evening with conditioner and found nothing. I have a hair appointment tomorrow to have my hair cut and highlighted, do you think I should cancel it - I was going to but as he hasn't found anything since Tuesday I thought that I may be clear or whether there were any more eggs that are going to hatch in the next few days

What do you girls think?
I really don't want to go there and have the embarressment that they find anything and tell me to leave - I'd never go back!!

My head is no longer irritated - I just have a rash on the back of my neck. I have used Tea Tree oil all week in the hope that that kills anything but have layed off that now too as I thought it might also be irritating me so am just using T-gel and Conditioner.

What do I do? Cancel or not?

ninah · 21/10/2005 10:49

I'd go, personally, just have a good comb through beforehand with one of those fine nit combs, if you're clear I'm sure it's fine.

kangel · 21/10/2005 11:02

Hi Ninah, hope you are having another better day today.

DP is going to go through my hair again tonight and said he'd do it before I go tomorrow too. Obviously if he finds something then I will cancel but its the embarressment of them finding something.
He thinks I should go if i'm still clear tomorrow morning. I've been really looking forward to this (haven't had my hair cut for about 3 months and the roots...........they are about2/3 inchs long )

george32 · 21/10/2005 13:15

Hi all,
Kangel it's a tough one. Can you delay the appointment by a week just to be sure. It would be awful for you if they found anything, plus you will be worried in case they do. Might spoil the treat for you.
I've just come back from having mine done. It's so nice to have all the straw ends cut off. Also went into Mothercare & bought some random things for the baby - well I have to start somewhere!
Bought a border & mobile in their Jungly theme so I think that is me decided.

Anyone know anything about Mothercare pushchairs. SH, I think you posted a link to some of them & now I think I might get one. Just want to make sure that it's not going to fall apart on me or has some major design fault.

Oooh, DQ, will have had her scan now & have a piccy of her baby. Don't want one myself but I'm fascinated by other peoples. I hope she can post it on here somewhere.

Nemo666 · 21/10/2005 13:19

george32 · 21/10/2005 13:26

I feel like I've broken through a barrier Nemo.
I'm always the same with Christmas shopping, I take ages to start but am fine once I have the first couple out of the way.
Sounds like you need a bit of a snooze this afternoon.
I'm going to measure the nursery walls to see how much wallpaper I need.

MINNIE1 · 21/10/2005 14:00

George, I'm doing the same this wkend, going to get a few baby things and a few xmas pressies!!!
Cant wait!!!!

Jaysfirst · 21/10/2005 16:20

Hiya people

hows everyone doing? Tired today also, was up at 5 as i just couldnt get comfortable in bed, everytime i moved i woke in pain, then needed loo, then couldnt get comfy....and so began the cycle, from about 2 oclock...sigh. In the end i gave up and came down stairs, sat watching tele thinking that this was how it would be shortly....mad huh. Anyway i half fell asleep with my feet up on the exercise ball and my support pillow round my neck, not the best position but the comfiest one i had found!
We are pretty much sorted with our nursery, we havent gone for a theme as sucj but have mostly stuck to woods and reed storage, musilms and voiles. In fact if anyone wants to have a look, i ( we) have a website which has loads of pics on it, our wedding honeymoon ( Aug 2005) the nursery ( not in a finished state) and the 4d scans of our dd, feel free to have a look;
www.peanutmonkey.co.uk
Hope everyones day has gone well, am going off to celerate a friends bday later so need about four hrs to get ready, if i am not back, al have a fab weekend what ever you do and spk later j XX

Nemo666 · 21/10/2005 16:37

JF just looked at your scan pic..they are fab arent they..very jealous as I cant afford one..lol

george32 · 21/10/2005 18:36

Minnie, it's great, I've got a big bag of things ready to show DP when he gets home - just hope he likes the jungle theme now!

JF, aren't you organised with your photos. It's as much as I can do to get them on the computer in a random state. I'm so , I spotted one of those lovely glidy chairs! How lovely
Was that a Mothercare pushchair too?? What is it like? (I'm sorry, I love photos!! )

How are you feeling Nemo, hope you have been crashed out on the sofa all afternoon.

I'm off to collect DP from the airport in a minute. I've so missed him.

Nemo666 · 21/10/2005 18:49

hi george...hope your dp likes the things you have bought..saw your question about ribs..will depend where the baby is kicking.

Unfortunately didnt get a snooze as doorbell didnt stop going this afternoon when adam was asleep..lol

Just watching hollyoaks..sad I know but wanted to see mandy give birth as she was due in dec..she found out on tv 2 wks after me..lol Just hope its a good outcome

scully · 21/10/2005 21:36

Had the day off work today, so nice to have a lie in until 8am, dd included. Any wonder she doesn't want to wake up at 6.15am normally Took a drive to Portsmouth and did some shopping at GunWharf Quays (outlet centre for those not down south). Bought 3 more Xmas presents, 2 b'day presents and a few things for us (among other things, pair of boots for me from Next for £5) and had a lovely lunch in Pizza Express. So nice taking a child out to lunch who now knows how to sit at a table and eat nicely - not looking forward to that phase where they need to learn how to do that
Had a midwife checkup this afternoon (32wks tomorrow) - baby still head down, which I'm v. happy about, I'm measuring 31cm which is nicely average & everything else was good.
George, we have a Mothercare brand Urban detour pram. Bought it 3yrs ago for dd and will be using it again for this baby. Have only needed it serviced once, and that was due to daft baggage handlers on a flight, otherwise it's been fine. Also, with the cot bumper, we didn't use one for a long while, until dd started getting her legs stuck in the bars of the cot each night . We then bought one from Ikea that wrapped all around the cot and she was fine after that. But she definitely wasn't a newborn when this was happening though. & you could also use a sleeping bag to avoid this as well (we did use one, just can't remember from what age).
Have a nice weekend everyone

Anyway i ended up scoffing the lot with my sister looking on in amazement cos i hate doritos!!! Dont think i could eat them again but were nice while it lasted!!!!!!!!!!

Am going for some retail therepy tomorrow then off to cemetary to choose mums grave. Just another day for me at the moment!

Ordered 20 helium ballons today for all my mums grandchildren to release when mum is being lowered into ground! Theory is it will help nanny get to heaven! expatinscotland · 22/10/2005 17:54

Damn swelling! My calves, feet and ankles have blown up overnight. Just like last time. Going to have to ring the midwife and pray the hypertension isn't back, cuz that would be a serious bummer!

flutterbee · 22/10/2005 18:42

Hi Ladies,

Havn't been on for a few days, been feeling really run down and to top it all off I threw up everywhere this morning, not baby related I don't think more bug thing.
I have however today still managed to unpack all the baby stuff and sort it out made me go all weepy half way through damn hormones!
Hope everyone is keeping well, not long to go.
