MINNIE1 · 26/10/2005 10:40

Morning all,

Hosp went well yesterday, head is down and he said the baby is right size for dates..
He also said the babys weight is 4lbs!! freaked me out as now i am convinced its going to be huge and i wont cope with birth!
But bubs is doin fine and thats all that counts..

Had to sleep in the spare room last night! DP had the deep heat out again!!!! So i binned all deep heat and if i see it again i will kill him!!! Sleeping is just a nightmare!!!!

dramaqueen72 · 26/10/2005 10:52

think thats not too big at wieght minnie, read something about 8oz a week from now til birth. so we can all work out our predicted birth weights and at them !LOL
31+3

george32 · 26/10/2005 11:04

Scully I think you are so right in only letting him come round for 1 night. At least then you can have 1 day of peace. Can his friend come on Friday, then you get most of the weekend clear?

SH, about your exam!! Do they give you any extra compensation because you are pregnant? I can't remember what I'm doing half the time let alone take an exam!!

I don't seem to have a weight for the baby at all. I'm not going to the hospital for any appointments now - is this normal?

30+6

Jaysfirst · 26/10/2005 11:13

mornig all, george i don thave any more appointments at the hospitall and i dont have a weight either, dont know if its normal but i know i am in the same boat as you. Good on you SH for continuing your exm and study, cant be easy at all, lets hope you dont give birth in the exam room....am sure they would give you some kind of dispensation for that!!
Minnie does DP have a fixation for deep heat seems like when ever i try and catch up on threads hes been at it again. Good on you for ditching it i cant stand the smell when am not pg god knows how you stand it now!
Scuy if he insists on having friend round for the weekend, you have to impose conditions, ie, tea in bed, he does all the cleaning up, set time limits, you get to choes where to next go out...etc etc at least this way you can be seen as being reasonable not just ' pregnant' (although i am with you on limiting it to one night!!!)
lol am just sitting here on thelap top and my whole tummy decided to have a disco, moving the pc!! how strange is that, its like shes tapping out sme kind of sign language to me....maybe its ' eat more duffnuts???
30 +5

MINNIE1 · 26/10/2005 11:21

dramaqueen72

HOLY SHIT its coming in at around a 10lbs!!!

Jaysfirst · 26/10/2005 11:24

LOL minnie wow eeeeee thats some wieght.... i think id rather not know!!

MINNIE1 · 26/10/2005 11:26

Jays,
He muscles in his legs are sore again from walking and general work... He put so much on lastnite my legs started burning!

George,
Its normal not to have a weight, but ask when you go in today, see what they say..

george32 · 26/10/2005 11:26

LOL Minnie!!
Don't panic, I'm sure it won't be. Perhaps I'm better off without a weight after all.

JF, had a whole knee or something coming out of my tummy yesterday - totally freaked by it. DP was killing himself laughing as I'm saying "argh, help, what is it, it's coming out!!"

MINNIE1 · 26/10/2005 11:28

Wont be asking again!!!

george32 · 26/10/2005 11:30

PMSL
Aren't they renound for getting baby weights wrong? I'm sure I've read somewhere here that most of the time they are completely out with their predictions.

Jaysfirst · 26/10/2005 11:41

just a question, bit off the mark as to what we are chatting about. I think that mumsnet should have a photopage of some kind. So that you can ( if you want) post up a pic of yrself( pg or not0 so that we all know who we are talking to. Wonder if its been done before? You d could have diff photopages associated with diff due dates thread...was spking to dh about it, hes in IT and reckons it would be easy to do a page where you just upload....any thoughts?

sweetheart · 26/10/2005 11:45

I wrote to the exam board and asked if I could get any dispensations for the exam. The reply I got was quite arsey - suggesting that they don't recommend pregnant women sit the exams and I shouldn't have entered myself knowing I was due around that time Oh, the reply came from a MAN - typical

It's not normal to get a weight at this stage if you have had totally nomral pregnancy/ies. Only a scan can give you a weight and scans now are for people with problems.

Minnie - Don't panic - I think you have worked that weight out wrong!!! You are 31 weeks aren't you???? So you have 9 weeks left. It's half a Ib a week so your looking at another 4.5 Ibs to add to your already 4Ib baby so it should be 8.5 Ibs not 10

sweetheart · 26/10/2005 11:45

Jay - you can add piccies on the member profiles board - just don't ask me to explain how

sweetheart · 26/10/2005 11:48

Oh, also DQ - I don't think ninah will be around today - she has a couple of appts

Jaysfirst · 26/10/2005 11:52

kk SH off to have a look!

Surely thats some kind of discrimination towards you, i mean hes sayijg in effect that becasue you are pregnant you shouldnt do it... id have to be taking that further if i were you, governing bodies just cant get away with this sort of thing these days...grrr makes me

the recalculation of the bubs weight seems to be a bit more manageable! Dont worry minnie what ever happens it has to come out!!!

sweetheart · 26/10/2005 11:55

But if the governing body says no then where do I go to complain - shurly thats the end of that???

MINNIE1 · 26/10/2005 11:59

shall be keeping my legs closed THERE IS NO WAY ITS COMING OUT!!!!

SH, now that weight sounds ok...

Jaysfirst · 26/10/2005 12:04

well i would start wih Citizen Advice perhaps, then write another leter to the University Principle asking for thier procedures on pregnancies and what they do to accomodate expectant mothers. I dont know what you're doing or with who but they have to have HR dept that would be able to give you further advice.
I mean what will you do if you go into labour and cant make the exam, will you forfeit or will you get another opotunity to retake, is it a private course or a state run one. Have you writen formally to inform them of your due dates? Do you go into uni, or is it home based? You must have a course tutor even that might be able to give you guidence. Just some bits for you to mul over, if you havent already...HAS to be another route...

oops sorry about double post

Nemo666 · 26/10/2005 12:10

morning all
not been on as had cpn coming out etc...she has done my letter to take to consultant on 8th november..rather a good one aswell to support the early induction.

jay pics board is good idea..you can use member profiles to upload a pic but we could do our own non mn site if people wanted.

Arghhh dont talk about birth weights yet..adam was 9lb1 at 15 days over so should technically have been 8lb1 on time then?????????

As for the working out dates..im 33 wks on fri so what does that make me today????

sweetheart · 26/10/2005 12:15

jayz, I am studying a private course at a local college. The exams are written by the organisations exam board and the exam dates are set by them too, the college just teaches the syllabus and arranges to hold exams for the organisation.

It was the organisation itself I wrote to and they said they do not make any allowances for pregnant women. There is 1 sitting of each exam only so if you miss it it's tough, you have to wait until the following year. I can't see that the organisation will change it's policy for 1 person.

babygibbon · 26/10/2005 12:19

Working out dates is interesting - I've got two dates, one of which says I'm 32+1 and the other 31+4, which should I use on here?

George - in response to a message you posted some time ago, I'm also taking a year off (although it may be longer than that because I'm probably getting made redundant, our company is being bought out). Although I'm in the middle of a degree with the OU so will be studying as well as being at home.

Does anyone know what happened to GoldenOldie? I thought she'd be the first as she's having twins?

Nemo666 · 26/10/2005 12:20

BG goldenoldie moved over the nov thread as she got a date for a c section..although to be honest i havent checked

scully · 26/10/2005 12:23

Golden is on the Nov thread isn't she, as her due date was moved back? Yep, also taking a year, but not studying as well, thank goodness dh will be though so will be interesting, keeping 2 children quiet, rather than one.....
Nemo, I am 33wks on Sat, so I think you are 32+5? As for birth weight, don't know if I want to know dd was 6lb7oz and was 8 days early, but I am definitely carrying larger than last time.....I'm only 5ft tall, there simply isn't room for anything much bigger in there
Just had a chocolate milk and am currently eating some pasta, might just explode later.....
Glad you all agree with me about the weekend, he is being reasonable about it this morning & we've had a chat, so I think it's only Fri night now
