Executive decision that at 987 posts we're moving over!

New challenge - can we fill up 1000 posts before the first babies arrive, given that we managed to keep our legs crossed all through the last one?!

First babies are due, officially, next month but are there any in such a hurry to see the world that they can beat our chatting?

Fab. Probably don't need to say this, but don't insert anything into yout fanjo just in case your waters have gone
Grin

kittycatcat · 17/03/2011 22:27

Hope ur ok lis keep us posted. Hugs

LisMcA · 17/03/2011 22:28

Ok NANN, out of curiosity what do you think I might want to insert there right now???? :o

MrsWajs · 17/03/2011 22:28

Yep definitely spelt correctly, can't account for the rest of my spelling tho!!

MrsWajs · 17/03/2011 22:30

Do you still feel movement from baby when you're in labour? Have often wondered this!?

NotAnotherNewNappy · 17/03/2011 22:31
Blush
LisMcA · 17/03/2011 22:35

Can you believe there is no number for the labour ward in my notes? Have googled it though and have it in case things kick off.

God if this turns out that I've just had a wee I'll be Blush.

Mum was no use BTW, she had to have her waters broken with all 3 of us! Bloody useless!!!

JenAT · 17/03/2011 22:48

Lis echoing the other posters. Make sure you have a pad on and keep checking it. May not hurt to phone labour ward just to get advice. You would be considered to have premature rupture of membranes at

Petalouda · 17/03/2011 22:50

Ooh! How exciting Lis!

DH's day off today & tomorrow, we went to look at paint! First time we've ever decorated, it's so exciting!

Popped into work on the way in to town to find the department in absolute chaos! It's nice to see they miss me!

No action here, even the BH's have given up.

Good luck Lis, keep us posted. I've got no useful advice, except that the girl on 16&pregnant the other day had her baby at 35 weeks and he was completely fine! (I've watched a lot of crap TV this week!)

LisMcA · 17/03/2011 23:01

I called the labour ward, they want to see me to confirm if they've gone or not. taxi booked.

kitstwins · 17/03/2011 23:16

Lisa golly - this is what happens when I don't log on for a while. You're probably at the hosp now but good to get it checked, even just for peace of mind.

Epi-no proving a struggle. I can't seem to get past 5cm (which seems f*cking enormous by the way) and struggle to keep it in, which means I have to hold it there for 10 minutes, which in turn gives me a dead arm as I strain to circumvent my bump. How the crap I'm supposed to progress/stretch to 10cm is beyond me. I've got just over 2 weeks to my due date so I've got to progress.

God, it's like failing 3rd form maths all over again!!

NotAnotherNewNappy · 17/03/2011 23:30

Good luck Lis. Either way you win by going in - if your waters have gone, then you need to be monitored, and if they haven't, you might feel silly but it means all is well.

Kits Sorry but ROFL Grin

Liv77 · 17/03/2011 23:30

Good Luck lis hope your manage to get in touch with your DH.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 17/03/2011 23:48

Lis good luck! Hopefully your DH is on his way?? Eeek!

ILike - no sorry, nothing to report here! Had about an hour of contraction-ish backache with loads of BHs earlier but it has all settled down again.

kits - do those things actually work? I have the strangest mental picture..... Grin

MrsW - I remember feeling it early on, but I very quickly stopped noticing it when the contractions got going!

I had midwife earlier - finally got my HIP form done! She said the baby couldn't be any lower without coming out. BP low but ok, no protein or sugar in pee and my bump is measuring 40 - so still a bit ahead, but no more ahead than it was a month ago if that makes sense. Back again next week, although she doesn't think I'll make it that far.

The nesting urge has completely gone. I have clean carpets, this is all that matters Grin

Liv77 · 18/03/2011 00:09

I've been doing a bit of nesting this evening but instead of doing something useful like trying to sort the spare room I went through the kitchen cupboards. Found loads of out of date stuff and even found a tin dated 2008 which is the year we moved in Blush.

architien · 18/03/2011 02:05

I can't sleep due to Braxton Hicks and so instead of pacing up and down I thought I'd go online...

LisMcA I really hope that you and your little one are doing ok and that your other half is with you now at the hospital. The trip (stress plus lots of walking) could have triggered something.

Ladies I think you give great advice :)

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 18/03/2011 02:20

Lis I hope you're okay and DH is with you. Thinking of you! I know I'd be petrified if something happened now.

LisMcA · 18/03/2011 02:45

So, it appears I have just lost continence! Blush

However, BP was sky high when I went in and didn't come down, so the took blood to test for eurates? Tests came back fine, BP eventually came down and my waters are still intact! Sorry for the drama folks!!

DH got to the hospital about 20 minutes after I did. But he is not getting out again until this one arrives!!

Anyhoo I'm off to bed now safe in the knowledge that everything is ok for now!!

Night!

BeetleBaby · 18/03/2011 05:50

Wow, I missed all the drama yesterday evening! Glad everything is ok Lis

Liv three years is nothing, I helped my Mum clear out the kitchen cupboards when they had their kitchen redone, there were things more than 10 years out of date. (Some was even older than my youngest sister was at the time!)

Kits your 'adventures' with the epi-no are really entertaining! Grin. I've had the same dead arm thing when I tried to do the perineal massage, by the time I've maneuvered my hippo like shape enough to be able to reach the required areas my hands go into cramp!

I can't sleep my hips/knees/pelvis/back are all just too sore to get comfy plus everytime I rolled over I'd get an attack of indigestion. Having been awake since 3.30am when hunger decided to add to the list around 5ish I figured I'd just get up and let DH get some sleep!

kitstwins · 18/03/2011 06:45

Liv Also had a cupboard clearing frenzy at the weekend and so I'll see your 2008 tin and raise you a 2004 packet of unidentifiable wizened things dried apricots, also from the year we moved in .

Alibaba do Epi-no's work? According to my MALE consultant, yes. According to me, not so far. I will crack on though. I've got to try and reach 7cm at least otherwise I'm doomed!

Lisa Glad you got it checked - always best to, especially before 37 weeks.

Woken up by one of my daughters at 6am bursting into my bedroom singing "Muuuuummmmmmy, it's Friiiiiiidaaaaay!". fancy dress at nursery so she's very excited. I was not as excited...

1stTimeMother · 18/03/2011 08:11

wow, I really missed the excitement last night! Lis very pleased to hear that everything is ok - must have been a bit scary but definitely better to get checked & know that everything is ok. My hospital has told us to call the mat. ward as soon as we suspect waters have broken just so they can log it so you definitely did the right thing.

Am so tired here - had the worst night's sleep & now feel/look like a zombie & got 4 hours of NCT to concentrate on!!!

35 weeks today & panicking that I can't get to grips (excuse the pun) with perineal massage, nor is baby moving from back to back position despite me sleeping on left, leaning over chair, staying upright, not slouching on sofa, etc, etc...still capable of Olympic gymnastic display on my internal organs though..... and breathe.

caramellokoalalover · 18/03/2011 08:20

Lis was better safe than sorry and all that. Bit of drama and a warning to your DH not to stray too far! Glad all is fine.

MrsW I felt DS moving right through labour...well until I had the epidural anyway. He was back-to-back though so maybe he was trying to turn.

Cyclebump · 18/03/2011 08:24

Glad to hear all is ok Lis, you may be blushing but my mw said it's always worth getting checked out just in case. And if your BP was so high it probably helped to get it down.

BHs got me out of bed at 4am. Sat on my ball for a while with a very purry cat who has clearly been missing overnight snuggles.

I then managed to get some sleep on the sofa with both cats curled up on me or nearby.

Flat still a tip but I warned the friend coming over and she assured me that she would feel right at home and even offered to help me clean! Nearly misted up.

Also, mum has just texted from France checking that I 'needed a fabric sling'. Smile

JenAT · 18/03/2011 08:57

Glad all is ok Lis always better to get checked out.

Not really having any BH apart from if out walking for any length of time. I think I will go all the way to my due date and beyond, so potentially another almost 4 weeks, weep!

V impressed by those doing perineal massage and using epi-no's. I am a lazy cow, and haven't even sat on my yoda ball yet. It is just sitting forlornly in the corner!

Feeling like a bad Mummy as dd was meant to dress up in red for comic relief at nursery but I completely forgot. Poor child she will probably be the only one not in fancy dress. I need to start being more organised and put reminders on the calendar. Still doesn't quite top forgetting the easter bonnet parade last year.

kittycatcat · 18/03/2011 09:04

Morning all.

Def best to get checked lis glad all is well.

Bump has definately dropped. :) The girls at work are panicking in case i go into labour. hehe.
