Could just be a bug though couldn't it? I dunno, this is really doing my head in. It's like every little thing that could be normal is a possible 'sign' Confused

I have no fucking idea what is going on to be honest. I would find it a lot easier to be all zen about the whole thing if i knew where i was headed. I could quite easily still be wondering WTF in a few weeks' time!!

Just wrote my 'birth plan' (such as it is, I'm quite adaptable :)) just in case tho. And the boys have gone swimming so I'm going to bed.

Muser · 06/02/2011 14:31

It's the menkul symptom spotting all over again. We start with crazy symptom spotting trying to work out if it's the droid marching ahead or duffedness. And then we end with crazy symptom spotting trying to identify every twinge, gusset checking, etc. It's the ciiiircle of life!

CluckyKate · 06/02/2011 17:00

Enjoy the rest Gin. As you say, so many of the symptoms of imminent birthing could be explained by perfectly ordinary stuff....not helped by the sheer excitement that you just possibly might be about to meet your baby.

Medee · 06/02/2011 18:21

sorry for fuelling menkulism, gin. But still, it's exciting!

MustMountMoreFairies · 06/02/2011 20:23

Hey Pollster, didn't see you here earlier, how are you, luvver?

PollyPoo · 06/02/2011 20:31

I want one of these

Muser · 06/02/2011 20:34

I just showed that pillow to TBG. His response: "Is that a sex pillow?" Oh dear.

Muser · 06/02/2011 20:40

To clarify, I showed him the picture of the pillow on its own. In case anyone was very concerned.

PollyPoo · 06/02/2011 20:48

Virgos are ace mountie Wink

What is a sex pillow? Am I being really naive?

Muser · 06/02/2011 20:49

I'm not sure there is such a thing as a sex pillow Polly, except in TBG's worrying imagination. He thought it looked like something that might be used to support you in interesting sexual positions. I do not pretend to understand.

Medee · 06/02/2011 21:34

to be fair, the picture of the pillow on its own does look a bit sexual.

MustMountMoreFairies · 06/02/2011 22:18

I want one of those too, and am still far away from the whole deal!

Scorpette · 06/02/2011 22:27

Have you, Medee, or TBG spent a lot of time in Japan, happenchance? Only they'll turn anything into a sex toy. My friend did ESL over there and sent me all sorts of leaflets and catalogues (that you could pick up in any normal supermarket) full of mind-boggling filth (torches with a vagina inside you could fuck, etc.)...

Poor Ginster's, not knowing WTF is going on. Is it the lurgy, is it a baybee, is it summat else? I hope your birth plan involves keeping us up to date :)

Have had worse-than-usual migraines/bad headaches all weekend. Blahblah has been shite. Roll on tomorrow Sad

LadyGoneGaga · 07/02/2011 08:27

How are our impending layers this morning? Any action?

I don't know what the sechs is like at the moment, not having had any since the conception. Just not my usual self!

Managed to pick up the heartbeat on the evil doppler on Saturday so very Grin. Is a nice reassurance.

Sorry headaches have been rubbish again, Score. Hope today is a bit better.

Morning haglets!

Sorry I've been absent over t'weekend. Felt a bit bleurgh. I think I just knacker myself out having a normal pre-diffed Mon - Fri, then am good for nothing come the weekend.

bottom vomit Grin Gin so sorry this is happening as it doesn't sound pleasant, but your description did make me smile.

I don't particularly like AH, but cried on & off all day yesterday. I just cannot begin to even imagine. You seem to breathe a small sigh of relief once 12 week scan is OK, then a bigger sigh of relief when 20 weekscan is good, & although the menkal never completely goes by this stage you do start to think "this is actually going to happen". God love her.

On a lighter note yesterday was my general menkal day anyway. I cried at some Virgin media advert coz it showed all sorts of families & narrated "Our House" by Madness (I luffs Suggs anyway). Then I ranted at Mr Loz coz he said we'll see how we cope with one baybee before thinking of a 2nd. We've always said we wanted 2, & he isn't going back on that at all, but is very sensibly saying lets just take things as they come along. Finally we had a birthday celebratory lunch at my parents yesterday, both Nana's over. Then next door had some builders in, drilling etc. I accepted it for 40 mins, then stomped over in my socks, still holding my fork with a yorkshire pud speared on the top to give them a piece of my mind. The burly builders did look quite startled & did STFU. So result Smile

Oh, & mum & Nana's decided to "talk babies" after lunch. All good, all saying how glowing I look. The consensus is I'm having a boy because of my shape. Just to clarify mum said that I didn't really look pregnant, just like I've put on a huge amount of weight Shock. I think that's her getting her own back as she vommed for 9 months.

Disclaimer: my mum & I are very close & she is the only person to tell me things as they are. I do actually prefer that & heart her muchly.

Anyhoo, Cho is vay quiet...... Kate & Gin quite happy for you to get a move on too. If you pliz Smile

Poll lovely to have you around again. You've painted such a beautiful image of baybee

Anyway, me & my fat feet are going to do some work now.

Laters, x

CluckyKate · 07/02/2011 09:48

Bored, fed-up and want this baby out NOW!!!!!

On the topic of hormonal outbursts, MrCluck made a very big error of judgement at the weekend and got it both barrels. He got a bit carried away with the lager and drank way too many cans on Saturday night....cue screaming like a banshee and hysterical sobbing until 2 in the morning all because I couldn't get my dose of prostaglandin. Would have been helpful as I was oozing milk & had strong BH all evening after my offroading expedition. GAH!!! Needless to say iot is therefore his fault that we are still waiting Angry

Glad you've found that there baby LGG - one less thing to worry about.

Medee · 07/02/2011 09:52

Not a lot of time, Scorps but our big holiday in 2009 was to Japan, and we do like Japanese culture. That said, don?t think it is that ? the big pillow just looks a bit vulvic!

In a bizarre way, I am glad to hear about the various menkulists here. I came to a conclusion this morning that my brain is shutting down various functions in order just to focus on impending birth and baby. E.g. MrM took it upon himself to plan dinners and a shopping list, and I just let him (after stropping needlessly about something in the freezer) and he dealt with the bins even though it?s normally me who has to remind him which bins go out when. It?s good he?s stepping up to the mark, but odd to realise I am not doing things which I normally do by rote. I hope it doesn?t continue though, as I would hate to stop functioning at work, or while I am driving or something!

Ocarina · 07/02/2011 10:09

Gin hope you're feeling better and/or laying - that wasn't sounding at all fun. And grrr to yours saying put Kate, doesn't s/he know we're all waiting with baited breath. Hope Cho's OK too.

Someone further up thread (or might've been on the last one) mentioned getting freebies from one of these baby club things - might've been Medee, but there again might not. I keep seeing ads for them all over the place, but am wondering whether any of them are worth joining, in terms of ratio of interesting/useful freebies/discounts to junk mail. Any suggestions?

rocketleaf · 07/02/2011 10:18

meds sounds like your brain is cleverly selecting the things it knows it can jettison without causing a catastrophe, great that mrMed is taking up the slack. If I stop with the meal planning we will be buggered tho, well just living off cowboy hot pot and pesto pasta (or take away) for the foreseeable.

clucky i am so sorry the off roading didn't do the trick and MrClucky was so VERY naughty. Had he raised his head above the ramparts yet? :o (you sound a bit scary hehe)

gin hows the leaky bottom today? :o Must be so frustration not know wtf is going on, hope it IS a sign of imminent laying and not some lurgy.

cho where are you?????

Hello to twinks long time no see!! Hope the '20 week' scan goes well, what that all about with the lateness? Great news about the HB tho.

rocketleaf · 07/02/2011 10:19

occie i think i remember someone saying to avoid Bounty as its junk mail for life but the Boots one was quite good, can anyone corroborate? I still havent joined any

owlbooty · 07/02/2011 10:50

Oooh, GG do you think the evil doppler is a good thing or just plain evil and worrying? I am dithering about it. If the MW will not do doppler at 16 wk appt next week I will have to get one I think as I know I cannot last until 20 week scan without knowing things are still happening in there. I will see what happens if I wail at her.

Aw Clucks bugger at having to wait, not surprised you had a 'sharing moment' with Mr Clucks. Grin On the plus side, at least you didn't actually commence laying whilst he was inebriated, that would have required even more yelling.

Lorry love the image of you yelling at builders and waving your yorkshire pud at them Grin

HighPriestessBoo · 07/02/2011 10:55

Hellp PESHes. I'm of work sick, can I talk to you lot as well as the BESHes today?

Of all the things I had when smallchild was a new born this was the best thing ever. And you can use them to support their backs when they're learning to sit up too. I've lent it to two of my friends who also agree that it is worth it's weight in saffron. I can't wait to use it again

Re mental functions. I think I started to regain my brain when smallchild got to about age 1. I just wish I could regain my farking figure as well.

Wonder if anyone is laying today?

HighPriestessBoo · 07/02/2011 10:56

I meant Hello, but Hellp is equally apt today :o

rocketleaf · 07/02/2011 11:03

Sorry you are feeling so poorly still boo best stay off and recover properly tho than a/ make yourself worse and b/ spread round any residual lurgy.

boots i thought doppler at 16 week appointment was de rigour so hopefully wailing will not be necessary. Next week? thats come round quick!! Seems only 2 mins since your scan.

Glad you got it to work lady is lovely to hear it, soon you wont need it tho when the little blighter is trampling on your gizzards :o

I am supposed to be working today but cant really be arsed. (makes a change)

BarbiesBeaver · 07/02/2011 11:11

How are you feeling today Gin? Are you ready to go if it all kicks off soon (birth bag and so on). Hope the vomming and shitting lets up soon, that's pretty knackering at the best of times. I hope things are kicking off soon for cho and cluck.

Wish I could have a kip under my desk at work. Instead I've got to put my waders on and trample about in the mud instead. At least it's not for very long. Did anyone else have any moments of dizziness/fainting? I felt like I was going to pass out yesterday after going for a windy walk (the weather not my arse).
