lanky good to hear from you, was wondering where you went. Glad that the ms has finally gone.

Empusa when is your dating scan? I'm excited to see if you are psychic:)

bunnygirl calm all labour?! I will definitely look into hypno birthing now.

Nursery is being painted light yellow as we speak:) So excited! Have ordered crib and dresser and have a rocking chair to go in it! Starting to feel real!

Snowy27 · 24/08/2011 18:05

oohh Empusa exciting! Move over Mystic Meg- could be a nice sideline for you if you're right!!

Empusa · 24/08/2011 19:43

bunnygirl Is she? Oh wow! She was my cycle buddy for a little bit

No idea when my dating scan is, still waiting on a midwife appointment. GP reckons I should hear soon though

Empusa · 24/08/2011 19:43

ps. we may have bought a crib already Blush

cherrycobbler · 25/08/2011 10:18

so glad the sickness has cleared lanky - its so nice the first day you wake up not feeling like you are about to throw up!!

we also have a bugaboo cameleon - it was second hand but I love it. Its not very easily foldable or light though, so we may also get a super lightweight maclaren type buggy when baby is old enough not to need to be flat, for travelling.

very exciting when the nursery gets underway gold!! I LOVE our rocking chair, good call!

womanlytales · 25/08/2011 14:07

lanky glad to hear your ms has cleared. It's early days for me and every day is a new set of feelings - today I feel like everything I have is too spicy or hot -- my tummy hurts even though I know the food is NOT spicy...

Empusa · 25/08/2011 17:00

Got my first midwife appointment on Saturday

LankyLegs · 25/08/2011 20:25

womanly the first 3 months were a rollercoaster of feelings and trying to sus out whether certain foods were making me sick or actually I like them - was all over the place! All good signs for you though - indicates hormones are doing what they are supposed to! Am still on cloud nine for you!!! xx

Gold nursery sounds lurrrvly! It must be be getting so real now! Love the idea of a rocking chair too. You will have to post a picture once it's all done. I haven't been on mn for a while what with a hen do in Spain one weekend and then a long weekend in France so have been neglecting it!

Cherry how is your lovely little one doing? I have heard the same about the camelon too - but agree with you will defo get a maclaren type thing that is easy to travel with. My sister suggested the same - but the bugaboo is quite useful as everyday heading to the shops type thing I imagine? And then use the lightweight one for travelling about etc?

Empusa hurrag for your first appt! It is so exciting!!

Snowy hope it's all starting to sink in and ms has kept away for you.

I did my first ante-natal yoga last night and was pleased to see it was just a rigorous as a normal yoga class (with some exceptions of course) was thinking it might be a bit light weight!

We are still in the middle of decorating our house and nursery room has been chosen, paint purchased - just have to find some time to do it - along with other 5 rooms that need painting. Eeek!

Oh and Toria how is your back?

Hope everyone else is good.... and not feeling too much like it is Autumn already. British summers suck BIG TIME!

Snowy27 · 25/08/2011 21:35

Thanks Lanky MS has hit pretty hard- but that has helped it sink in as I feel pregnant! Also been reading my 'your pregnancy day by day book' which is very interesting- keep pointing exciting things out to Mr S.
But it does feel weird to think there's a baby growing in my tummy!

MIL commented that she thought we were waiting that sent me into a hormonal tailspin thinking she hated me and wasn't happy- but have now pulled myself together and remembered that a- she's a very nice lady and b- Mr S spoke to her and is not good at feeding back subtext!

Empusa · 26/08/2011 10:20

"Also been reading my 'your pregnancy day by day book' which is very interesting"

Is that worth getting then? Who is it by?

Just found out I can get free membership to a local gym where they do ante natal aqua aerobics, which should help my upper back loads. Going to talk to midwife about options for a water birth too, seeing as my back has been a bitch since I've stopped being able to take painkillers. That's my one big worry for this pregnancy, is how my back will hold up.

Snowy27 · 26/08/2011 12:15

It's by Maggei Blott and printed by Dorling Kindersley so it has lots of photos and pictures in it- interesting but not really a 'practical' pregnancy book if you know what I mean- not many tips and hint but interesting to see what's going on in there!

highheelsandequations · 27/08/2011 08:05

Morning all,

Whoever was asking about buggies etc we also have a bugaboo cameleon. Was torn between that and the icandy apple but went for the bugaboo because it's brightly coloured!! We wanted something that would cope with rough ground as my walk to town is pretty bumpy and it's doing fine. It isn't the most practical to take out in the car but I've been walking pretty much everywhere and it's great for that. Main problem is that the under-buggy bag is really difficult to get into when it's being used as a pram.

Well my little angel is now 7.5 weeks, I can't believe it! She's now smiling away and has learnt to suck her thumb (so cute as her thumb is so tiny). I'm sure she's growing every day although she's still just about managing to fit into her 1 month clothes, they're getting too short for her but still loads of room width ways. Plus the past two nights she's only woken every 3 hours for a feed so fingers crossed that'll keep going!!

Sorry for lack of personal messages, need to go before she wakes from her nap. Hope the sickness improves for those in their first trimesters and those who are nearing the end are having fun preparing. Make sure you enjoy every minute of your pregnancys because although it feels like it's taking forever it'll soon be over, I miss being pregnant and wish I'd spent less time worrying and obsessing and more time enjoying it, maybe next time Hmm

ToriaPumpkinPasty · 27/08/2011 13:00

Morning all, rushed visit as I need to get on with filling in forms for MA before I procrastinate so much the baby has actually been born...

Lanky my back has been crippling this week, but I think that's because I overdid it at aqua natal on Tuesday. Have finished work now though so can spend my days on my couch with my heat pad!

We've started parentcraft as well so meeting new people, and I get physio starting next Thursday so all in all it's looking up Grin

Empusa · 27/08/2011 20:33

Got my scan in 3 weeks!

Also, I'm signing up for pregnancy pilates and aqua natal. Things are beginning to feel real now.

Empusa · 27/08/2011 21:20

Oh, forgot, midwife has said that (until the dating scan says differently) my due date is April 1st 2012

bunnygirl80 · 27/08/2011 22:30

empusa oh the fun you'll be able to have with possible labour related April fools Grin You should come over to the postgrads and say hi - I have a feeling your EDD will be pretty close to roses' (she found out about the twins from a private early scan)

Empusa · 27/08/2011 23:13

Where is that thread bunnygirl? I lose track!

Don't talk about me sharing my EDD with someone having twins! You are feeding my paranoia! lol

Even my mum was at it today!

It will be 1 single solitary baby in my womb, my twins dream(s) are silly.. and repeat

bunnygirl80 · 29/08/2011 00:55

It could even be more than 2 GrinWink

You can find the postgrads in the post-natal clubs section - am at work so can't post the link very easily. There will be a link to us somewhere on this thread if you look

MrsWajs · 30/08/2011 13:02

Ooooh just thought I'd have a little lurk in here as haven't been in for ages and am super chufed to see womanly and empusa/kaloki both have BFPs, congratulations!!! :)

womanlytales · 30/08/2011 13:35

Thank you mrswajs

Empusa · 30/08/2011 15:16

mrswajs!! Haven't seen you in ages! How are you?

LankyLegs · 01/09/2011 14:54

Hello lovely frolickers!

It's been quiet in here hasn't it? How is everyone doing?

Toria take it easy on your maternity leave/post job leave! Hope your back is better this week. I will need to pick your brains about MA as since my contract is only for 6 months here I won't be qualifying for SMP but bloody well intend to get the MA - every penny counts as they say. My DH has put me on a world wide shopping ban and keeps reminding me the more I spend now the less time I will off next year and will have to get my arse back to work at some point! Hopefully will have a year off though.. well that's the plan anyway.

Highheels can't believe how old your little one is already - please she is getting into a pattern (won't say routine!) And sound advice about enjoying your pregnancy - although not sure in the first 3 months that is possible but am certainly trying to be that way now!

Empusa fab news on the scan - not long until you get to see it on the screen!

MrsWajs how is Robyn doing? Lovely to see you here!

Hello's to everyone else...Hope you are doing well gold snowy and womanly?

Womanly - have you your scan date thought yet? Hope you are feeling ok!

Am at the maternity clothing conundrum stage. Have purchased some maternity stuff - the annoying thing being tall is that trousers you can only really get online. Have brought 2 pairs now - and one of them from Next are perfect but the under belly band is giving me stomach cramps as it is so tight! I have defo brought the right size but the elastic just hurts! I think I am going to stick to skirts and dresses for work - Isabella Oliver has a sale on this week if anyone is interested (too expensive full price). It's annoying how most of the maternity ranges are all bloody online! I did hit topshop oxford street at lunch time today and there range in ok - not ideal for work. Any suggestions for good work mat clothes welcome!

Also question - when did people start feeling the baby kicking? Am 18+1 and have felt the odd flutter over the last couple of weeks but not sure if it was movement or not! Annoying my 20 week scan isn't for another 3 weeks yet.

Xx

Empusa · 01/09/2011 15:17

Oh god I forgot to update you!

We had a panic yesterday, I was in a lot of pain so my doctor sent me to hospital for an emergency scan, worried that it was ectopic. Luckily everything is fine though, and the baby (all 20mm of it) even waved it's arm at us. Grin

womanlytales · 01/09/2011 15:31

lanky i hope you find those good work mat clothes. My scan was yesterday. We saw a sac, then a heartbeat and then the pole and all measurements were on the spot for my 6w and 2days. I still have the odd brown spotting going on..so taking it one week at a time till week 12. The clinic has discharged me back to my gp - so now will need to meet with a mid-wife.

Empusa · 01/09/2011 16:14

Oh PS. Not psychic, it's not twins! And my expected due date is now April 6th.

womanly That's good that you've seen the heartbeat and everything!
