CaveMum · 30/03/2011 20:30

[sneaks back in to give crazybutterfly a hug] I'm good thanks. Just waiting for the hospital to give me a date for my HSG scan thingy. Hope to be joining you all soon Grin

highheelsandequations · 30/03/2011 20:45

Congratulations to Halo, also love the name. Hope you and your little girl are having a lovely time getting settled.

MrsWajs · 30/03/2011 21:35

Jolly Yep I'm about 35 miles south of aberdeen, have you heard of the unit I'm going to??? I know it has a good rep but didn't realise it was that good!!

JollySergeantJackrum · 31/03/2011 07:48

MrsW, yes, I've heard of it. We briefly considered going there as taking the slug road would have only meant a journey 30 mins longer than going to Aberdeen. I've also heard about people coming up from Glasgow or even further afield to go there. definitely seems to be a good choice. :)

MrsWajs · 31/03/2011 11:56

Wow, I honestly never resalised it was such a well known place!! Pleased I'm going there now!

highheelsandequations · 01/04/2011 16:32

Finally the holidays are here, wish I could just sleep for the next fortnight!

cherrycobbler · 01/04/2011 17:10

ToriaPumpkinHead · 02/04/2011 13:18

Afternoon ladies!

Enjoy your holidays HH ours don't start until next week so OH is driving me mad looking forward to his!

MrsW and Jolly It's nice to see some other Highlanders about, I hadn't realised you were both so close, though you have both now got me googling maternity units away from the hospital I'll be sent to which everyone I work with hated...

Speaking of, my scan date came through this morning. It's April 19th, so I'll be 12+6. I'm meeting my consultant at the same time which should be fun! Absolutely terrified now but never mind lol...

Truffkin · 02/04/2011 16:23

Hi everyone, I've been keeping a low profile for the last few days as my sickness has been tough going. Struggling to keep food down, but fingers crossed my lunch seems to be staying put for the time being! I've also got my midwife appointment booked for the week after next and my scan for 7th May so it's all happening now.

Enjoy your hols HighHeels and rest up when you can. A few of my friends are teachers and I do get a bit Envy at the regular breaks through the year. Am looking forward to the bank holidays coming up to enjoy some short weeks.

Hope everyone is enjoying the warm, sunny weekend. Hopefully there is more nice weather to come.

haloflo · 02/04/2011 20:46

Thanks all for the congrats. 4 days in I still feel i've been hit by a train. Birth didn't really go to plan as I ended up having to be induced as I wasn't contracting fast enough after 24 hours of my waters going (they were 5 mins apart & it felt like they were strong enough to me) but I am so happy my little girl is here safely. I will post more detail soon as still find it a little overwhelming.

Hannah is amazing so far although bf is tricky. Am determined to keep going though. Am nervous about the 5 day weigh in though as she hardly had anything for the first 2 days. Am hoping she is making up for it now. I never thought I would long for a dirty nappy quite so much! DP has been amazing and I love how close we are at the moment. I do not want him to go back to work.

Sorry to anyone who reads the March Thread as its copied and pasted from there. I hate to be inpersonal but i'll never post if I had to write each one individually. Hope thats ok.

Toria Best of luck for the scan. Less than 3 weeks away now. Smile

Truff Am so pleased you saw a hb, sorry to hear about the sickness and hope you find ways to cope.

Mrsw Not long now!

haloflo · 02/04/2011 20:49

I've put a pic of her on my profile Smile

Truffkin · 02/04/2011 21:45

Hi Halo, you sound like you're in a lovely cloud of new baby happiness! Long may it continue, had a little peek at your pic and she's lovely.

bunnygirl80 · 02/04/2011 22:44

halo she is beautiful. The BFing will get easier over time - it really does take at least 6 weeks before you and baby get the hang of it. William didn't even latch on for the first 24 hours so he ate nothing (the hospital I was at won't give formula unless baby hasn't latched for more than a day) and he was just about ok at his weigh in. If her poos are changing then she's definitely getting milk and she'll more than likely be fine Smile

haloflo · 03/04/2011 09:58

Thank you truffkin and bunny I hope all her mecodium poos are gone but we haven't had a poo since day 3. We had 4 wees on day 4 & no poos. Hopefully day 5 will give me one. (I realise how mad I sound but aparently poo obession is normal!)

luckyseven · 03/04/2011 10:40

Happy mothers day girls!
Thinking of you today fudgecat
Congratulations again halo you have my number if you ever need any random reassurances, enjoy Hannah!

fudgecat · 03/04/2011 12:24

Thankyou xxx

MrsWajs · 03/04/2011 17:38

Happy mothers day to all the soon to be mummies!! :)

Halo Baby Hannah is lovely!! Soo cute :) As far as I remember from the breast feeding class it can be quite normal for breast fed babies not to poo for a few days at a time but I'm sure someone more qualified than me will be able to confirm or deny that!!

37 weeks today for me :) might get started on the RLT & pineapple soon and maybe some of the, ahem, other!! Or then again maybe not.......!
Feeling very uncomfortable the last few days but not sure if it's baby working her way down or just the fact that I'm a bit constipated - hoping it's the former obviously!! Can be quite painful at times! DP is away again this week for work Mon-Fri so as long as nothing happens this week, everything will be fine!

Sorry not to name check but have only been lurking the last few days and feel like I would need to do a mammoth catch up. Will try harder this week :) x

bunnygirl80 · 04/04/2011 00:45

halo you will never cease to be amazed at how quickly you descend from normal sane person to someone with an unhealthy poo obsession Grin I think it happens at the moment the placenta is delivered

I think we had similar at the start - meconium poos, then nothing for a day (but still wet nappies) and then one enormous poo and a look of shock on Will's face that I wish I'd got a photo of

mrswajs 37 weeks Shock that went quick. I can still remember you joining the TTC thread. Sounds like baby might be engaging - I felt like my pelvis was about to break in two from 37 weeks until a couple of days before I went into labour, when he was so low I could feel my cervix being stretched every time he moved. I have a feeling you'll pop before your due date

MrsWajs · 04/04/2011 09:49

Bunny I'm hoping it is baby engaging, have been getting this feeling on and off for about a week but it seems to have been more frequent the last few days although at my MW appt last week there was no mention of engagement so I don't really know! My mum is thinking along the same lines, according to her there probably isn't much room for a babies head and a full bowel down there just now!!

Original due date was 10th April so fingers crossed I go a little bit earlier than the 24th!!

slowshow · 04/04/2011 11:58

Congratulations Halo and welcome Hannah! Hope the breastfeeding starts getting easier soon.

Hopefully this is the start of baby engaging, MrsWajs Grin

Scan dates for Toria and Truff! How exciting! Sorry the sickness has kicked in Truff, although perversely it is quite reassuring, isn't it?

For the last couple of weeks I've had lower back and hip pain. Well, now it's progressed into textbook SPD symptoms - at 16 bloody weeks! I'm feeling a bit hard done by. Anything that involves me moving one leg independently of the other (i.e. most things) gives me fanjo pain Sad I was so determined to start walking loads and everything!

Luckily, I had my 16 week MW appointment on Friday and I mentioned it. She agreed that it's quite early to be having symptoms, but mentioned that relaxin levels peak around now, so with any luck it will settle down. In the meantime, I have to walk slowly (and I am a speedwalker usually so this is difficult), shorten my stride, not stand with my weight on one leg, blah blah blah. I spent much of the weekend on the sofa with my feet up, worrying about how fat I'm going to get if I can't walk for exercise.

Boo.

On the plus side, I can occasionally feel the baby kicking now Grin

Missyraines · 04/04/2011 12:14

I've my scan today (paid for privately as I'm Miss paranoid) I'm 7 weeks today. It's at a clinic in Harley Street no less. Get me!

slowshow · 04/04/2011 12:47

Are you going to the FMC Missy? I was tempted to have a paranoia scan once I got to around 8 weeks, but everything changed and I started feeling really positive so I decided against it!

Missyraines · 04/04/2011 13:37

It's a company called baby premier that do it. www.babypremier.co.uk/datingscans.asp

cherrycobbler · 04/04/2011 13:55

halo, hannah is so gorgeous! Hope weigh in went well and b/feeding getting better and you had a lovely first mother's day :)

good luck w your scan today missy! and yay for scan dates through for truff and toria. Sorry about the nausea hitting, truff, it really is horrid! As well as a good stock of Reversy Percy sweets from M&S (oddly better than percy pigs when I felt really rough) you may need to think of ways to respond to lovely and well meaning people who ask you, after your fourth vom of the day, whether you've tried ginger biscuits without whacking them or throwing up on their shoes.

mrsw 37 weeks, eeek really could be anytime from now!!! Is DP away for more than this week, or is this a one off week working away? And how far away is away?!

hope you all had lovely weekends. I got some flowers from the bump which was very lovely and unexpected :) Had good yoga session which is helping with the back pain and very much looking fwd to finishing work in two weeks' time!

MrsWajs · 04/04/2011 16:38

Cherry DP is just away for this week until Friday but has the option to go away again next week if he wants to although I have mixed feelings on that! The money is really good and as he's self employed would be a great help for him taking time of once babyWajs arrives but I just can't help thinking it's cutting things a little bit fine! He's not very keen himself and has all but said no, so I guess it kind of falls to me to decide whether he goes or not Hmm
It would take him 3 and a half hours to get home if anything were to happen and even then that would only be if he had the facilities to jump in a car and drive himself, which he doesn't as there are 4 of them there and it would leave the rest stranded so basically he would have to rely on public transport or someone picking him up!! Not really an ideal situation at all!!

Had a little panic already today, started feeling a bit fuzzy headed/sick and had a headache after lunch time today and started having visions of it being pre-eclampsia (as you do!) and having to get him to come home already incase I needed to go to hospital etc etc!! [paranoid over reaction emoticon] So don't think that him being away next week is the best idea! I know sods law will dictate that I go 10 days overdue but better to be on the safe side I reckon!

Feeling a bit better now but still slightly fuzzy headed so just trying to rest a bit. Not easy when I have my old room at my mum & dads house to clear out before baby arrives!! I really don't know where to start, there is a whole other life crammed away in there! They did both offer to help me this afternoon which just prompted a tear fest cus I was feeling so crap! So, so far I have managed to go to their house and drink about 3 cups of tea!!
