hi all i have had a hideous weekend with emotions getting the better of me, im determind to start tomorrow a fresh start.
my hunger has actually curbed a little but im sure it will be back next, i am mainly eating lots and lots of beans, or beans cheese and coleslaw on toast or jacket potato! i have put on 3.5 stone in both my previous pg and im staring off heavier again with this one so im dreading how fat and wobble ill be after, i look so awful at the min with no clothes on just want the bump to start properly so u can tell im pg not just gaining weight fast!! I have made dp promise to pay for me to join a gym when i have had this one, i want to look good again! although there is no hope for my boobs they really have had it!

Leilandri · 23/01/2011 16:03

Is anyone else suffering with migraines?
I'm getting them every day at the mo, and my 1 paracetamol isn't even touching the sides :( I've tried warm baths, neck/shoulder massages, sleeping! (good excuse as any for an extra nap!) but no joy. Feeling thouraghly miserable at the moment, and I am so jealous of those of you who have had your scans. I had seen my DS twice by now with PG1 and I just want to see my baby :(

As for names we have our 'standby's' that we didn't use for DS. So a girl will be Maia Rose, or maybe Cerys Joan (also incase of twins) and a boy will be Evan Rhys, or maybe Dylan George, (our DS is Owen Martin) All have welsh links as that is my heritage, and all the names mean something to us, or are family members names.

MrsChemist · 23/01/2011 16:09

Leilandri I've been getting headaches a lot as well. Not massive ones, but they really bring me down. I'm so tired as well, which makes it worse.

Leilandri · 23/01/2011 16:11

It's so good being able to come on here with you gals and know that we're not alone in our symptoms/barminess. DH has been great, but can't understand the sometimes irrational fears that overtake me :(
so THANKYOU all Grin

daisysair · 23/01/2011 16:22

leilandri my dr told me i could take cocodomol if needed... I don't get on with codeine, but if you're needing soemthing stronger.

I've been getting headaches, but not migraines.

As for names, we have a list but nothing concrete yet...

Leilandri · 23/01/2011 16:25

Thank you daisyair I have a stash of co-codamol for my arthritis, so I might pop one at bedtime and see if I can get some sleep X

MrsVidic · 23/01/2011 18:16

neverlookback i know how you feel, but i promise you these preg hormones act like magnifying glasses when looking in the mirror. Think about it, if you had had a lovely romantic, easy weekend where you went out and were on a high, would you see the same image in the mirror. Plus you are more than a measurement, more than a shape, more than a size. I know it sounds rich coming from me with all my posts fearing the same but it really isn't as bad as you think. :) with my dd i put on 3 stone and had lost most of it within a month with breast feeding and my body getting rid of water.

spilttheteaagain · 23/01/2011 18:27

Are you drinking enough Leilandri? I am astounded at how much extra water I seem to need at the moment and wondered if that might be contributing to your migraines?

I do sympathise, I've been fine this time, but last preg had two appalling 3-day headaches where I just felt so ill and throbbed and my eyes hurt. It was rubbish and I just had to stay in bed with the windows open to get some cold breeze and drink lots of water and hope it went soon. Hope yours disappears quickly.

The thirst though. Who else is finding it quite shocking?? I am going through pints, constantly dry mouthed and STILL have scary dark wee. It is ruining my sleep as I am waking lots of times a night to drink half a pint and have a wee and the dry mouth never goes away! Apparently the amniotic fluid is replenished at least 3x per day which would account for some of it, but honestly!

KTisPG · 23/01/2011 18:36

spilttheteaagain yes, I've been horribly thirsty too - exactly the same - no matter how much I drink I still have a really dry throat and almost tingly lips. Made worse by the fact that I can't find anything I want to drink. I've invested in a variety pack of fruit teas which is helping a little and the other day I drank 2 litres of orange Fanta Blush and was still thirsty.

MrsVidic · 23/01/2011 19:01

hot cordial instead of tea and coffee really helps with the thirst. Also if you avoid any food with salt. The thirst will continue if you breast feed, it totally puts you off take aways as you feel so crap after.

nickstermum · 23/01/2011 19:18

Spilt maybe water is not quenching thirst? I'm having to drink lemon cordial by the pint, lemonade, yep fanta as well as fresh orange. Water can't stand ATM, not the healthiest I know. Prrhaps try milk, doesn't run thro you ad fast as water (at night I mean)

Freshly peeled oranges are also quite nice!!

nickstermum · 23/01/2011 19:30

:) at Capp Carrie for just duscovering chips and gravy :) even better with curry sauce!!!

MrsChemist · 23/01/2011 19:34

I've been drinking apple juice with lemonade and organic ginger cordial.

Mmm... ginger cordial

Rozeeglow · 23/01/2011 20:24

Hello, I've been lurking for a while but would like to come and play with you guys :-)

I'm 37 (it snuck up on me when I wasn't looking!) and have a very rough EDD of mid-Aug. My scan is at the end of Jan.

All this talk of food and drink is making me Envy
Currently everything I eat and drink revisits me in a most unpleasant manner. Please oh please let the 2nd tri be better! I dream about food!

littlemisslozza · 23/01/2011 21:14

I agree nickster chips with curry sauce all the way!!!

I am also about ravenous most of the time. Even just a couple of hours after eating a meal, my tummy actually starts rumbling and I feel a bit nauseous so I have to eat!

I had headaches every single day from about week 9 to week 14 when I waas expecting DS1, so I really sympathise with those of you experiencing them. I never really found a solution and was not willing to keep taking paracetamol all day long when it didn't touch it anyway. I suspect it was hormone related thing as they disappeared around week 14. Thankfully I didn't get them when I was pg with DS2 and so far I've got off lightly with about 3days of headaches so can't complain.

I've got my scan on Tuesday, can't wait because at the moment it just doesn't seem real, I keep worrying that they'll tell me there's nothing in there and I've dreamt it!

LadyGoneGaga · 23/01/2011 21:21

Yup, chips, curry sauce and a battered sausage on the side! Yum.

Rehune · 23/01/2011 21:34

Mrs Stevo lol @outlaws. Sooo nicking that!

This morning I was convinced the bump was smaller. It was. But actually come 5pm, I got gassy and it went back up. I think the baby is 75% gas. I've actually become a biological weapon

MrsChemist · 23/01/2011 21:48

I was less bloated this morning as well rehune which made me feel a bit better because I had a horrid dream that some old uni pals were laughing at me because I was fat. Then one called me a c**t Sad
I hated the dreams last time as well. They disturbed my sleep.

This evening, however, I am bloated again.

sisterT · 23/01/2011 21:52

LOL at biological weapon! Maybe we can co-ordinate and all burp and fart in the same direction and see if we could change the weather pattern for the country? Wink

Ive spent most of the weekend in A&E with DH and his poorly knee. He really has been quite sore and I feel bad for thinking... grrr...this was my chance to lie in bed and succomb to the tiredness, headaches and generalised crappiness whilst he looked after DS but I've effectively had two toddlers at home this weekend and now just want to hide under the duvet and never get up Sad.

Still, 6 sleeps to my scan next weekend!

LittleBeaut · 23/01/2011 21:54

Man I have heartburn bad tonight!! May have something to do with the huge amounts I ate in GBK this afternoon and... the fact that it was spicy (oink oink) Blush

Hi Rozeeglow I remember the sickness well from my first two pregnancies, thankfully this time I've had nothing (wipes forhead - phew), but I feel you pain chicky

Gonnabe · 23/01/2011 22:15

Hello ladies, I have been lurking on this board but I'm in a bit of a tizz and hope you can reassure me! I'm 11 weeks 3 days with a due date of 11 August. I had a miscarriage last yr and as a result am questioning everything this time round! My boobs have lost all tenderness, even running upstairs bra-less was ok today - they are still huge mind you! Do you think this is normal? Could it be because I'm heading towards 12 weeks?
Sorry very self centered - but I'm panicking.

LittleBeaut · 23/01/2011 22:20

I know exactly what your going through Gonnabe I had a miscarriage a few years ago and have pretty much the same thing this time around. And was so scared about my scan I was literally having kittens in the morning. I have always had sickness before - got non this time!! I have had sore boobs - that stopped being sore a few weeks ago!! And in general felt, fine and so yeah I think its 'normal' for you to feel like that, and I think its 'normal' for your boobs to be feeling better, you may even find tomorrow there sore again you know, think I had a few days like that. Your scan must be pretty soon though?? That will put your mind at rest I'm sure. Try not to panic x

nickstermum · 23/01/2011 22:30

Ever had a deep fried beef burger????

Gonnabe · 23/01/2011 22:34

Thanks littlebeaut I've already had two scans, one privately at 7 weeks (but they put back my dates) as we had to spend a few nights from home and it was around the time I lost the baby and I needed reassurance and then again at 9 weeks at the epu as i had spotting between Christmas and NY and was totally expecting a mmc - I know I need to be positive but it's so scary! My scan is feb 2- I will be a wreck that morning! I'm 34, will be 35 when baby comes (fx) but I've decided against the nt scan - has anyone else decided this??

It's great to speak to ladies who at pregnant, I think people tend to forget what it's like and in rl everyone who knows (husbands not the best fibber) keeps asking if I'm excited and I just want to shout at them for jinxing me! Totally irrational at the moment!

LittleBeaut · 23/01/2011 22:41

Deep fried beef burger nickster?? Cant say I have why?? Is that your craving??

Gonnabe I'm sure everything will be fine!! My midwife friend told me when I found out I was pregnant, and asked her what the chances of a repeat performance was that I was at no more a risk than a woman who had never had a miscarriage at all. That did put my mind a rest x
