morning, or is it nearly afernoon ...theres alwasy something happening isnt there, sorry to hear abuot your bag lyra worst thing is thinking that some creep was in your house...yeeeeuk! Sending you positive vibes through the magic of the net, what with that and the car i think you have had your fair share of sh*t. I am with the majority of you, we dont always check our doors when we go to bed, and two nights ago i came down to find the front door open....the catch is a bit iffy...must start and remeber to lock them!!
Hiya loomer, yes well spotted it was outside Hampton Coourt, it was a about six weeks ago when i thought the last good weekend was on us...
Good on you SK for getting the ball, i find it really excellent to sit on in the evenings, also i try and lie over it, so as i am almost on all fours...its getting hader as i am getting bigger but it does tend to take the stress of yr back and lets your bump swing free!!!!
31wks today and alls well, had appt with GP babies head down but is lyig on the right habdside, still a few weeks to go though and even if she doesnt move over to the left i am assured it will be ok ! Iron levels down so have to take the dreaded tablets....hoping they are not going to 'bung' me up too much!!

Rachey1969 · 28/10/2005 12:37

Hi all I feel like absolute today, full of snot which has kindly reached my chest to ensure I don't sleep at all. Couldn't go to my first hydrotherapy class cos I feel a bit feverish and have booked GP appointment instead to see if I can do anything to nip it in the bud.

Thanks for all the nice comments re piccys - believe me there is a reason they are all a couple of years old! Since then I have piled the weight on and avoided all lenses! I do have one of me n dp in Goa this year, but I worry you might wonder which one was the elephant! Somebody else please post some and I might just...

Bewitched, yes the kids do get their colour from me but mine has a fair bit of help these days! In fact I'm much streakier now. Tickle, please don't be shy! Me n dp were on my sister's balcony in Paihia in the Bay of Islands - right at the tip of NZ - Chuffed will probably know it! A beautiful place full of dolphins.

Lyra - what a nightmare! I hope you haven't lost anything irreplaceable. A couple of years ago I had my car stolen from right up the drive outside the back door and the worst part (apart from them writing it off in breaking in) was the loss of 3 carseats and a travel cot!

Rachey1969 · 28/10/2005 12:41

Oh and Jaysfirst, lots of fluid, prunes and lactalose (Sp?)- its just a sugary fluid you can get it on prescription free - to avoid the bunging up! Just read your dec post and I think I';ve missed something - why are you signed off? (sorry v nosey...)

GeorginaP · 28/10/2005 12:41

Hi there. Been struck down with snotty cold and sore throat all week so feeling a little under the weather. Just caught up with whats been going on.

Hoorah for Horseshoe's bub. Fan-bloody-tastic news. She's def a fighter. And you got a cocker spaniel puppy too. What colour and what's the name? Let me know what it's like as love cockers spaniels, but have heard that they can be a bit loopy!

Lyra - what a filthy rotten swine to come into your house and nick your bag. It really makes my blood boil that some people think it's OK to do that. I don't care what their excuse is, it's wrong, wrong, wrong.

Blimey, i think hormones are kicking in!

Glad everyone elses checks and scans are good. Am off to add photo to Jaysfirst site!

GeorginaP · 28/10/2005 13:04

Hey gang - just uploaded some pics ionto Jaysfirst yahoo site. MUCH MUCH MUCH easier than trying to re-size for this site!

Rachey - what a gorgeous family you have. I can see where your children get their good looks from. And your DP looks like a star too!

Right, I'm off to spend more of DH's money on a birthing ball and Helios kit as recommended by Iris!

G xx

sweetkitty · 28/10/2005 13:16

oh speaking of helios kits, I was having a look the other night at the childbirth one think it was £25 or something.

Has anyone used it before? Do you mix and match or take it all?

Might have to purchase a book and read up a bit beforehand.

Mumfun · 28/10/2005 13:59

Hi

Amazing chat - cant keep up with it - glad most news is good.

Except handbag stealing - had it done - been very unhappy for a while so you have my fullest sympathy!

Feeling better than for a long while. DS being an angel at present - finally cottoned to baby idea and keeps kissing my tummy with baby in it, then pulling down top and saying byee.

Very disappointed at weekend as tried DS in one of the double buggies I was interested in - the Mother care Urban Explorer - DS feet hung off the end of it - the footboard is so badly designed - what a shame as its a great buggy and easy to use (we have the single version)

Got invited to a wedding involving a plane flight at 33 weeks - think we'll go as its a very good friend. Feeling good in myself - anyone see any problem with this.

Anyway take care all - enjoying the chat

MF

Tickle · 28/10/2005 14:25

Hi mumfun - shouldn't be a problem but check the airline's terms & cond'ns before you book - they vary a lot and some need a doc's letter after 28wks. How far would you be flying?

OK, I'll go & seek out some piccies if I'm feeling brave and dd2 leaves me be for more than 2 mins!!

lyra41 · 28/10/2005 16:14

Hi girls

Feeling much better now. Thieves were thoughtful enough to throw my handbag plus contents (minus cash and phone) over the fence when they'd finished riffling through, so nothing major lost.

Also a good friend came ova for lunch and whilst she was here helped me to clear out the junk room. Dh is going to be soooooo impressed! Just debating whether or not to pretend I did it all myself. The rewards could be worth the lie!!!

Just thinking about putting some photos on the new link / site/ whatever it is, but not sure how to go about it. I'll have a go in a bit.

Must walk the dog between showers now, as the rain has been torrential earlier and the poor love hasn't had one yet.

lyra41 · 28/10/2005 16:43

Yay, I think I did it with the photos!

GeorginaP · 28/10/2005 17:02

Lyra - loved the pics! What great looking kids you've got. And sooo grown up! Can't imagine what DD will look like when she's your daughters age! Please tell me they become a little less argumentative. Am currently going thru the F*cking Fours with my own little angel!!!

And Bella is too delcious for words. Want her!

Jaysfirst · 28/10/2005 18:36

hey ladies, back and still in one piece from the NCT party...my goodness how many kiddies!!!! How much noise!!!!! how much crying !!!! how sweet they all looked dressed up!! Met a few Mums, one who was with her DD of 6weeks..so sweet and edible! i even managed a littel hold, everyoe was so nice!
Nice to see some more pics up, Georgina your bump is lovely! so neat and tidy looking! Very nice family pics also
Lyra i see you managed to get your pics into a folder, super duper, really good ones to, and georgina is right Bella 'rocks!'
Rach i was signed off of work with SPD four weeks ago now, just went back to he docs today and hes signed me off tll mat leave starts on 25th Nov. Its been a raw deal, i had never heard of it before, and it took them ages to diagnose it. Am on painkillers, supportbelts, crutches, Osteopaths and rest....still i am keeping positive and just know that it will be worth it in the end! [determined emote!]
Right then off to make some chilli and rice for dinner! Laters xx

Tickle · 28/10/2005 20:45

Also think I have worked out the photo thing! Thanks Jaysfirst Only one missing is Tilly the lurcher, so will have to try & sort out a pic with her in it! Have realised, looking through our pics, that it is very rare to see dh & I in the same photo, or just the family. Always spare cousins etc around in family shots, and I'm usually the one behind the camera.

Must do something about that and get a pic of this bump!

Went round a few friends in the village this evening, trick or treating with the children - just an excuse for them to get dressed up in the sweet outfits my mum sent from Tesco. They loved it. Pleased to say they have managed to save some sweets for tomorrow....

hope everyone is gearing up to a relaxing w/e.

Jaysfirst · 28/10/2005 21:07

Going to have a looksie now!

Jaysfirst · 28/10/2005 21:09

super duper pics there tickle....your kiddies look like real hippy types... i am loving the mud one and the pumpkin one....ahhh am lovin them all!!

lyra41 · 29/10/2005 08:31

Gorgeous pix tickle!

GeorginaP · 29/10/2005 11:28

Hey Tickle, loved the pics. Especially the one of both your daughters in the bath.....that's just how I see my two little girls being. Rose tinted specs?!?!?

Just in the middle of painting walls. Have left DH to do fiddly bits and am supposed to be making him coffee!

Off to Toys R Us and Mothercare World tomorrow for various bits and pieces and inspiration for DD's Christmas present. Honestly, kids today have got EVERYTHING. I remember when we used to get a rock and a satsuma and be happy !!!!!!

Tickle · 29/10/2005 11:30

You got a satsuma??

Rachey1969 · 29/10/2005 13:33

Absolutely lovely pics all of you! You have such lovely children (and you and your dps/dhs aren't bad either!) More please - it is so nice to put faces to names.

Hey I still give my kids (and dp!) a red apple, a satsuma, a banana and chocolate coins in the bottom of their stocking just like I used to get!

We are halloween crazy here, forced dp to carve a pumpkin before he go out and have a drink last night and to make pumpkin soup before he could go off to the football this morning. We are going to a friend's party as Count Dracula, Morticia Adams, a goblin, the grim reaper (with scythe) and the littlest vampire...! Its all the things kids love - sweets, dressing up, monsters, guts and gore! We are also taking fireworks which I love (not sure about baby though?) My friend has gone to loads of trouble with games etc, we have movie/music quizzes, wrapping a mummy, apple bobbing, sweets in flour and the old straw and aduki bean shuffle.. Will try to take some pics with my phone cos I can email them to my pc.

Have a good weekend all!

Tickle · 29/10/2005 13:52

Aw Rachey that sounds like a wonderful party I would be more excited than the children about it Have a fab time!

Gorgeous sun here so dh has just cycled off to the beach with the ILs & our girls, I have ds & his cousin playing with Brio - they are outside all week, climbing trees at a woodland kindergarten, so don't require too much fresh air & exercise at the weekends! And I am still on my campaign to tidy the house (now making visible progress - yay!) so happy to stay at home.

Georgina I may be biased but I think big sisters are just the best. I always got on incredibly well with mine, and our eldest dd has always been fab with her two younger siblings. Long may it continue Just have to wait & see how dd2 reacts to a new baby on the scene...

lyra41 · 30/10/2005 06:28

Good morning all

It's a bit early isn't it, but I had one one those early awakenings and then just couldn't get back to sleep. Determined to get a few little jobs out of the way whilst I've got the house to myself. I just cleared up that huge pile of post for me on the hall table and threw away / recycled most of it. Just have to file and / or read the rest.....

What else? I need to tidy up and clear out the dresser in the sitting room. There's a shelf and 2 drawers full of videos that we never watch, most of those can probably go to the charity shop. Also the photo albums need sorting and tidying on the next shelf, plus the toy cupboard below needs and good sort, think I'll leave that to the kids later. The rest sounds a bit arduous now I've written it all down too.

I also have 2 reports to write for work next week. It would be good to get those out of the way, but I must admit I don't feel terribly keen to make a start.

We all went to a big Halloween party last night that wasn't half as good as yours sounded Rach. DD is at an age where if she doesn't know people that well, she won't just mix in, but hangs round me whispering "I'm bored, can we go now?" until I lose the will to stay and go home early. Last night we arrived about 7 and left about 10:15pm, so that wasn't too bad. Had to drag ds1 and dh away though, as they were having fun. We all dressed up too, just as scary people, no one in particular. Thank goodness for Asda and cheap dress up outfits. The party would have been better if it was more organised, with games, but it was one of those wander about and make small talk with people you barely know kind of do's. Not really my cup of tea either tbqh.

I can't believe half term is over already. It seemed to pass in a flash. And 7 weeks to go till I finish for mat leave (and only 8 weeks to Xmas!).

I still haven't got my matB1 form by the way, has anyone else? What do we do with them? Send them to our employer?

What are your plans for today? I'm hoping for some good weather to walk the dog, preferably by the river. Plus church this am, horse riding for dd this pm and some report writing for me.

Rachey are you taking your probiotics yet or is it just from 36 weeks and whilst bf? I can't remember what you said. I've started mine, but haven't noticed any difference in excema yet.

I'll stop waffling on now, have a good Sunday all.

Jaysfirst · 30/10/2005 12:03

moning lyra, morning all. I to had an early morning, but only because i forgot about rthe clocks going back.... so woke about 7 ish, to be remindedby DH that it was only 6ish.... hmmmmm could i get back to sleep? nope.. stuck the tele on in bed and watched three episode of FFriends on DVD! got up about 8 and tideid up the kitchen ( we had some friends over last ight for dinner) Then the DH came down suggesting we go to the local carboot sale. Went and picked up a cpl of large mixing bowls. The ceramic ones made by Greens, realy nice and reminded me of my mum and childhood baking sessions!
So spent a bit fo time wandering, its amazing that it zappa so much energy out of you really, i feel knackered now! DH is outside strippng old gloss from back door! I might fight with the leaf hoover this afternoon, if the wind drops down that is![smail]

Lyra, i got my Mat1 B form on Friday form my GP. I'm 31 weeks. I have to send mine to the HR department and thats it as far as i know.

Right going to watch a mushy Sunday film, will catch you all laters x

Jaysfirst · 30/10/2005 12:59

LMAO Rach am loving your 'up-to-date' piccie, the pose is just awesome hahahahahahahah!

GeorginaP · 30/10/2005 18:44

Hi guys. How's everyone's weekend been?

Jay - HUGE thanks for setting up the photo site. Such a fantastic idea.

Loved everyone's Hallooween party stories. DD is with her father this w/e so me and DH (plus my ma and pa) have pained the conservatory and wallpapered the study (rather grand term, it was the dining room!), moved furntiure about, gone to Toys R Us and Mothercare world and are now collapsed in a heap waiting for the toad in the hole to cook! Have HUGE nesting instinct at the moment and keep walking round the house mentally re-organising cupboards, furntiure, pictures..... am driving DH mad!

DD has got Halloween party at pre-school tomorrow, so she'll have some goulish fun then. Plus we've got her this coming w/e so we're all off to a fireworks display at the local park.

And I'd totally forgotten about the choc coins, sugar mice, nuts and satsuma we got in the bottom of our stockings. Thanks for the reminder Rachey. Will have to continue tradition with DD.

Right, am starving so off to fill my face and then slump in front of TV... tonights choices are: Rocket Man followed by Egypt.
