40weeks care to share where you found the good deals on France? That's where I want to go but not sure which sites to go on. So far have found a nice cottage for £500 but pregnancy brain can't compute whether this is a good deal or not (it goes up to a thousand in the school holidays!)

I also can't fit into many of my mat clothes, which is rubbish. I already seem to own most of new looks mat collection so am definitely not buying any more.

pinkie I'm shattered too. This morning I polished my wardrobe and all that scrubbing movement in my arms meant I had to lie down for an hour to recover Blush. I honestly don't know how those of you that are still working are managing.

Does anyone know anything/have a foam cot matress? MIL brought us the cot mattress and when she asked me which one I wanted I just said a decent quality one as I know nothing (not cheapy cheap but not £££ IYKWIM). MIL rang today to say she has brought us a foam mattress for £40. I know nothing of costs other than when I looked in mamas and papas catelogue last year, and I'm pretty sure the mid range ones there were more like £100 or so. Foam to me (I'm old fashioned) just seems a bit cheap and nasty ( Blush if I offend anyone - I know nothing about these things and am ready to be proved wrong). Anyone know anything????

delia don't be worried about the choc cookies - they are yummy and sounds like you've been so good up till now. My body feels like it's falling apart under all my weight but sadly it's not all on the tum. I also have flabby arms/massive chipmunk cheeks and accident5ly caught my back view in the mirror yesterday and wished I hadn't - massive bum alert Confused

Hope varicose is getting along OK.

needto I don't think 8 lbs is a big baby now adays. Before I was pg I thought anything 8 lbs + was considered massive, but, the more I hear of babies being born the more I realise so many are now the norm for 8lbs or over.

Off to investigate PDRs piccie...

JustOneMorePlease · 13/01/2011 14:37

PDR love you piccy. I'm 34 + 3 and am similar shape.

Had 34 week midwife appointment and all good, head down 3/5 th so hopefully it'll stay in that direction. Midwife coming out to discuss home birth plan at 37 weeks, so all exciting stuff.

This thread is so speedy now a few people are finished work!!!!!!!

Looking forward to all of the impending birth announcements (whispers) I need some inspiration with baby names!!!!!!!

PDR · 13/01/2011 14:38

angels I must admit I went for a sprung cot mattress as they spend such a long time sleeping on it, it seemed worth the extra money. I agree £100 is middle of the road. Just make sure you get a good protector in case of accidents. Can she return the foam one do you know?

knasher29 · 13/01/2011 14:41

Well ladies, after a problem free pregnancy I thought I was breezing through (apart form the usual sickness, aches, etc).. And then WHAM!!

Went for my midwife app yesterday in which she said 'it sounds like your babies heart beat keeps going up and down' (!!!??)Well - PANIC!! She told me to go to the hospital for a CTG scan.. hooked up for 2 hrs and everything was fine - so the midwife says.. made me really paranoid now though - constantly feeling for movements - any body else had similar experience?

PDR · 13/01/2011 15:04

knasher sorry not had that before but sending sympathy! You must have been freaking out! Is your midwife new or something? Hmm

Can anyone tell me what bag they are using for their "labour bag" as I am just looking at all the stuff I want to take and wodering what bag it will all fit in Confused. More like labour suitcase at the moment....

CantwaittoPopsy · 13/01/2011 15:27

Hi everyone, only just managing to get something written today
as everytime I read all the posts it is time to go to bed and I haven't had the chance to post anything myself now DD is trying totype too so this isn't going
to-9y7t4w work either (yes that was her)
So exciting to hear about varicose I keep telling DH that babies are arriving on the thread...he is keeping calm whereas I am v excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like some babies are getting engaged - DD didn't move right down til induction cos I remember going to toilet in hozzy and thinking bloody hell there's a head there ha ha
Not done my bag yet - spent ages doing it last time but can't seem to find energy - what I do remember is don't take a good quality bag in case you are on the ward a while and you don't want it lying around getting nicked/dirty.
right of to Mothercare for a bumbo toilet seat -oh my glam life!

40Weeks · 13/01/2011 16:05

PDR yes twas me that said MW hadnt ever guestimated baby's weight. I am not too bothered as I know they arent always accurate but was just feeling left out Wink Love your new pic btw

Zero we were looking at this website And the ferry from Portsmouth (the fast one) to Caen was an approx additional £350. Lots of the places seemd quite reasonable although we arent going in school holidays as none of our are at school yet. This will be the last holiday where we wont be governed by term time!

Knasher what a nightmare, thank goodness everything is ok.

I suggested to a friend that she packed 2 hospital bags, one for immediate use and one to keep in the car in case you need spares/are there longer than expected (that DP can just grab without having to navigate the nursery - far beyond their capabilities Wink )

40Weeks · 13/01/2011 16:07

Oh and Delia this one's for you - have just bought a bag of same said cookies for me and DH to devour after dinner tonight! But if its only rhe last few wees then dont beat yourself up, you have been great up until now so as long as you arent stuffing then dont worry too much. I bet you look great

40Weeks · 13/01/2011 16:08

ha ha last few wees. I of course meant weeks

Might namechange to 40wees. Would be appropriate at this stage too!

ledkr · 13/01/2011 16:09

angels polished your wardrobe? you need to get out more girl Grin
pdr great pics your ds is soo cute.I may set up a profile page just to post a bump pic,i dont think anyone can actually comprehend how big i am Shock
Tried to have a restfull day today does anyone else find it hard to do?Maybe i should polish my wardrobes like angels :)
I am literally crying at everything today tv mn threads its awafull.
Dh sent me a text to say he is looking forward to our last weekend together before a new person comes to stay-made me cry so much.

PDR · 13/01/2011 16:14

Is everyone a similar ish size to me then?

40Weeks · 13/01/2011 16:28

I think I am a little bigger PDR Blush I certainly feel huge

Go on ledr post a pic! I know what you mean about hormones/crying - I sobbed at the end of Toy Story 3 AGAIN this morning. Made me think about little boys growing up and flying the nest and saying goodbye. I am a sobfest monkey at the moment too, which is NOT like me at all. Have made a spag bol for dinner, done some washing, fed the chickens and collected eggs (in the mud bath at end of garden) and done a big shop, and the effort it takes is mammoth and made me sob a little. And then we went to collect DS1 from preschool and DS2 was tired as had just woken and wanted to be carried there and back. Cute cuddles but jeez, I am shattered.

DH coming home from work early to put up the new wardrobe. Poor lad is working so hard and I really feel like I should give him a blow job or something but I am too tired Wink

snowangels1 · 13/01/2011 16:35

PDR I think I'm bigger than you. At least, I feel like I look bigger than you. I'm still too scared to post a bump pic (or even take one).

ledkr you're right, I do need to get out more Wink . My excuse is we've just inherited a wardrobe following our move at it has been at my parents house for a few months stuck in the middle of their redecorating and got in a bit of a state so did need the polish I did.

When I sit down I can almost feel a head pressing down/inside me. It's so odd.

smallblackflowers · 13/01/2011 16:50

PDR I'm pretty sure my bump is bigger than yours, but I'm a week further ahead, so perhaps that's it!

Delia and 40Weeks I have cookie envy Envy. I did buy a small black forest gateau from morrisons' fresh cake counter though (to go with my salad and veg sushi!). I have only had 2 slices so far this afternoon Blush

A few of my maternity clothes are now too small too - can't wear my jeans for more than necessary as they dig in, and my new look leggings no longer go above the bump. Favourite item of clothing at the moment is a pair of grey leggings from Peacocks. They are so soft and lovely, I wish I had 2 pairs - one to wear and one to wash.

My doula came over for her antenatal visit this afternoon - it was really good to go over my few remaining worries and chat through the plan for what will happen when my contractions start.

ledkr · 13/01/2011 17:04

40wks I thought about the bj but i really dont see how i could get into position he can flippin well wait now it wont hurt him.
I am opting for leggings more now but cant say they look too good but hey,im not trying to pull am i?
angelsi am fully aware of a hard little head too, have now got sharp pains kind of "up there" when i walk.
if anyone is interested,on home and health at the mo is a birth/section the woman has the same condition i had with ds2 now 23 its very very rare.

ledkr · 13/01/2011 17:05

I am very rare and important actually.

Deliaskis · 13/01/2011 17:07

40Weeks you have made me feel much less guilty about cookies! They're just sooooo lush... smallblackflowers you know I think any gateau that can be called 'small', can surely be eaten in one sitting?

Re maternity clothes I am still fine in my two pairs of jeans (over bump) but the black 'work' trousers I got are stoopid. They are M&S ones and meant to be over bump, but the stretchy over bump bit only actually went over the bump from between about 15 and 20 weeks, and since then has sat annoyingly at the 'peak' of the bump, and therefore kept sliding down.

I have turned into one of those people who now only seems to wear actual clothes when I'm leaving the house. The rest of the time it's jamas Blush.

D

ledkr · 13/01/2011 17:12

D haha one of those people!my jeans only fit cos i bought an 18 to last,im normally a small 14.
Gosh wonder when we will hear from varicose,i will post from phone after my birth as after a section there is that fab period where the spinal block is stil working when you feel all normal and sit up holding baby and making calls feeling all high.....then it wears off arrrrrrrrrrrrgh.

PDR · 13/01/2011 17:26

I now have gateaux envy!!! Would it be so wrong to pop out after I put DS to bed?
I have just made fajitas which came in a kit and I just added fresh ingredients... But wondering what to serve them with? Any ideas???

snowangels1 · 13/01/2011 17:31

nachos? Rice? (could make spicy style rice) salad?

ledkr · 13/01/2011 17:35

we sometimes do rice and also guacamole salsa cheese sour cream and salad.yum.
i tried to set up profile but could add how many kids on the drop down menu so it now looks like i spend my life on a mums site when i have no kids sad eh?Anyone know how to add it?Have to work out how to upload a pic tho now, cant wait to see what you think and if anyone thinks yhey are bigger, ouch these bh get on your nerves dont they?

PDR · 13/01/2011 17:35

Ah yes I might do a salad and rice that's a great idea thx :)

ledkr · 13/01/2011 17:36
