Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm feeling too well. Grin Compared with how I felt this time last pregnancy, I mean. At this stage last time (37 wks) I had soaring BP, my feet and ankles were like memory foam Grin and I was utterly fed up and in constant pelvic pain. This time, my ankles go down if I put them up (to a certain degree), my BP has stayed ok (knock wood) and my pelvis has its moments but is standing up pretty well. I spent several hours walking round Oxford yesterday (Christmas market, shopping and Bravissimo for feeding bras) and only felt a bit sore this morning; and today, we spent a couple of hours taking DS round the local steam railway centre to ride on Thomas to see Santa (!) and then later on did a stint in Argos and the supermarket. Both unthinkable last time.

Having said that, I am more than ready to let go of this bump! Grin Braxton Hickses are ramping up again. Does anyone else have a massive pressure in their bum when they get these? Blush

I have no idea of how the baby's positioned now, and am trying to go with the flow. If he's still breech on the scan on tues, we'll do scary ECV. If he stays breech, we'll schedule a c-section and I will try hard not to think of my lovely dream homebirth. It's recently been brought home to me just how precious and important a healthy baby is Sad and I shouldn't quibble.

Miffster · 05/12/2010 19:01

Congratulations OWO on your snuggly baby!

DuelingFanjo · 05/12/2010 19:04

Been feeling the same reshape still thinking of C&G every day.

I did a bit of shopping today, just supermarket stuff. I feel quite huge but still mobile enough - not sure I could do several hours of walking about though. I need to do some more internet shopping and get my cards written.

I think I have finally had braxton hicks, is it when the bump goes really hard? It doesn't happen much but when it does I feel like I have more than one baby inside me. Not getting pressure on my bum but am finding pooing a lot easier these days Blush

Hope your baby has turned by Tuesday reshape .

ReshapeWhileDamp · 05/12/2010 19:17

Yes, BHs make your bump rock-hard! I seem to get them a lot, and get them early - I think they started at about 20 weeks this time. They sometimes make my heart race a bit too. MW says it's a sign of a good, efficient uterus - let's hope so!

Am not venturing to the shops for Christmas after today, though. Thank god for internet shopping! Grin

MrsSnaplegs · 05/12/2010 20:39

Evening all hope everyone is coping ok.
owo lovely choice of name , hope you are enjoying being snuggled up with her.

Still no more signs since my show on Friday - about 3-4 hours of contractions every afternoon/ early evening but ease of by bedtime. Very restless at night mainly as I am so uncomfortable now.

40 wks tomorrow so ready and waiting!!

laurenamium · 05/12/2010 21:55

I think I must have missed owos baby name?

40 + 4 here and starting to feel a bit fed up!found myself sat watching out the window today like some weird cat lady!I'm going stir crazy being on house arrest in all this snow it's been a full week now!

frankenfanny · 05/12/2010 22:28

Just popped in to say massive congrats to OWO ( if that is still her MN name Wink ). Hope we can see pics of baby Ruby. V. jealous of you getting to know your new baby, mine showing no signs of budging at all. So tired, don't know how I will manage labour.

V much thinking of C&G tonight as well.

laziness · 05/12/2010 23:03

Thanks for the help Chooster & Wholelottalove I was quite worried yesterday...

I guess I had been over working myself without realising it...thankfully today was a bit better...
in fact I experienced kind of a diarrhea which actually got me excited..Grin
sorry about the gross details Blush
but seriously i want to get it over with already..and I'm only 37+3 today...

apart from that Im so glad its not snowing in London anymore..the ice on the roads have melted which means I can go out for a walk tomorrow Grin

P.S: OWO can't wait to be on ur side of the line..must be a wonderful feeling :)

aimee0211 · 06/12/2010 05:32

Hi all

OWO congratulations :) love the name Ruby!

40+4 today and have been awake since 2:15am with contractions, had some crampy pains before bed but didn't get too excited and then woke up and haven't been able to sleep. Have been timing them online since 4am and they are every 8 minutes atm but not too painful so I'm not holding my breath for anything happening soon. Am bouncing on my gym ball as quietly as I can as rest of the house is still in bed.

My mam requested I be in labour enough to go to hospital at about 9pm tonight, I told her I would see what I could do :o

Hope everyone else is well, sorry for self-indulgent post!

Mamathulu · 06/12/2010 06:51

Aww aimee that's fab! You must be really excited! I've only got 2 sleeps to go now until my 4th elcs, so I'm finding it hard to sleep!

Won't be long now for you though - hope it's all going well, and keep us up to date when you can!

Fingers and legs crossed for you!

crazykat · 06/12/2010 07:44

Aimee you must be really excited, am a little Envy I'm 39+6 and so ready to have this baby.

Mrs SL I've been having contractions afternoon/evening time and sometimes first thing for days now, hope it won't be too long for you.

Had the fright of my life last night, DD fell down the stairs from the top. Thankfully she seems fine, just a bump on the back of her head, but I've never been so scared.

Miffster · 06/12/2010 08:27

Aimee, oooh, how exciting, good luck! Of course you will be updating mumsnet continually throughout labour, won't you? Wink
Crazykat yikes, hope your DD is ok. your heart must have been in your mouth...
lauranamium hope you manage to get out the house...I know how you feel, hate being cooped inside, have managed to get out most days here in London because just 4 days inside did my head in!
Mrs S good luck - today is your DD isn't it? Hope you have a punctual LO.
DF and Reshape I will join you in feeling physically pretty good, amazing considering I am an old git who will be 40 in February. Although I did randomly puke on Saturday, think that was because I got over-tired after seriously crap night's sleep, though. Otherwise, feeling really well, if very slow-moving. Think it is down to not smoking and drinking 2 units a week or less after 20 years of caning it.

Reshape - the BH give me pressure in my arse as well, and are getting stronger and more uncomfrtable, also very strong pressure bearing down, like my uterus is lead-weighted and about to fall out.

Mr Miffster hands over most of his work on Tuesday and it will be really hard if Tiny appears before then so am hoping we can go til the end of the week, or beginning of next week - but also hoping that I don't go o/d and have him close to Christmas.

NHS DD is 14th and my estimate based on actual conception is the 8th.

crosses legs, drums fingers

What are we all up to today?
I think I will make a lamb casserole and maybe go to Primark. Woo, excitement over here.

aimee0211 · 06/12/2010 08:46

Thanks for the good luck :)

My mam definately jinxed me, I told her I wasn't getting my hopes up that this was it and she said there was no way they would just stop now.....

And then they stopped...kind of (have only had 4 since 7am Angry ). Am currently walking in circles round the front room to try and get them back, wish I could go outside for a walk but there is still too much snow/ice. Is it strange that I am wishing for pain? :o

Miffster Lamb casserole sounds nice, you are making me hungry :)

Crazykat Hope your DD is ok, my sister did it when she was 3 and had a massive lump in the middle of her forehead but was just fine. (Kids bounce right?! Wink )

Mamathulu 2 more sleeps then you will definitely meet your LO...that's alot more exciting than my disappearing contractions!!! Good luck!

CherylAnnTweedy · 06/12/2010 08:48

Morning quick one to say thanks for the established labour info. Chooster, glad I'm not the only 3rd timer who hadn't heard of it. Following on from that...how do they know when you've reached established labour besides being sat with their head between your legs watching and waiting for you to get to 4cm? Confused Both my labours were timed from 1st contraction. I've been really shocked this pregnancy at how you can have 2 children and know nothing!

Aimee good luck, hope it doesn't drag out too long for you.

39+5 today, have a really busy week ahead so baby could really do with staying put until Friday night. Grin

Right, off to Asda, Tesco & Morrisons (fun, fun, fun!)

MrsSnaplegs · 06/12/2010 08:48

Morning all - yes DD is today, didn't think we would make it this late with all the contractions I've been having recently. Had a proper mucus plug show on Friday am then this am a very small bloody show after my bath. No proper contractions at the moment just most afternoons. Need to hold off until after 3pm today as DD has her Xmas concert at the church - normally only DH gets to go as I am working so desperately want to be there!!!!
Aimee - hope this is it for you, keep us informed!
Miffster - I can't tolerate walking around shops now!! Brings on contractions if I do too much!!
Hope everyone else is ok and keeping well.

MrsSnaplegs · 06/12/2010 08:52

Crazykat - I did that once fell down a whole flight of stairs, no I wasn't drunk! I felt very bruised and tender for a good week after - sounds like lots of tlc for your DD ! Work thought my exh had beaten me up!
Which reminds me they are coming to fit my rails in the house today - at last!!

DuelingFanjo · 06/12/2010 08:55

oooh Mamathulu and Aimee - you may both have babies in the next couple of days. Good luck and how exciting Grin

crazykat hope your DD is OK Shock

Happy Due Date MrsSnaplegs

Miffster I am 40! I have been so lucky although woke up this morning with a sore throat so maybe I am going to get a cold just in time for Labour!

I'm up early after being woken at 3.30 by the weird Goth woman next door playing loud music again! I have just vacuumed the wall which divides our spare room from her bedroom Xmas Grin

I have the Midwife today so may wander up to the local shops and have a Christmas browse before the appointment.

My NCT group has had its first baby, a girl. Smile

nymum · 06/12/2010 09:32

Congratulations Chooster and OWO!

I'm 40+6 today and...still waiting. Baby was 3/5 engaged a month ago, increasing contractions/discharge/heaviness for many weeks. Even have some colostrum leaking from one boob. Have always been early with other 3DC. And...nothing. Might I hope that baby 4 is going to be chilled out?Smile

Mamathulu, Aimee, and MrsS- hope you are snuggled up with healthy new babies soon!

notso · 06/12/2010 09:42

Congratulations chooster love the name Jude.

Congratulations OWO also loving Ruby.

37+4 today, it's lethal outside due to ice so I am still housebound, seeing M/W and day unit tomorrow.

Will have a proper catch up soon, take care all.

chloesbaby · 06/12/2010 11:08

Morning all,

Good luck Aimee hope it all starts again for you soon.

And belated congratulations to Chooster and OWO

Thinking of you C&G if you're reading this.

I am now 37+4 and kind of feel ready. My symptoms have definitely changed over the past few days. After weeks, no months of constipation, I have been to the loo about seven times in the past 24 hours Blush and definitely have more mucus Blush and Blush again.

I'm also getting more BH, more back ache, and a kind of low down stabbing pain randomly.

Yesterday me and DH unpacked the rest of the baby stuff, got the final bits together for my bag. Very excited now!

laurenamium · 06/12/2010 11:18

Morning all! 40+5 here still no signs but I did just sleep for 12 hours with only 2 brief wee stops :-) maybe my bodies making me sleep ready for labour...or maybe it's wishful thinking!

All this sleep has meant Ive slept in for aquanatal but the snows starting to clear a bit now so I'm going to go shopping then make brownies instead :-D

I'm very jealous of all you people having signs and starting labour!!

Wholelottalove · 06/12/2010 11:25

Morning everyone

Aimee hope your contractions have come back and this is it for you.

mamathulu not long to go now :) Do you feel ready?

nymum sorry you're still hanging in there. Hope things move along for you soon.

crazykat OMG, that must have been terrifying. Glad your DD is ok.

DF that sounds really annoying. I would want to kill her at this stage. Glad you got your own back by doing the hoovering!

MrsS hope you get to see the concert and then go into labour :) Happy DD.

miffster lamb casserole sounds yummy.

38 + 3 today. Been up last night having BH/mild cx and everything feels incredibly heavy and about to fall out. Also getting a lot of discharge now. Was hoping this might be it, but realised now that it is niggling which could go on for the next 2-3 weeks! I popped to get some Raspberry leaf tea after dropping off DD this morning and found it pretty hard going just walking to shop and back. Pelvis really sore.

Have just scarfed a bacon buttie and going to go for a nap in a bit.

Wholelottalove · 06/12/2010 11:27

Lauren x posts - hopefully this is your body getting ready! :)

chloesbaby it's so exciting isn't it? DH and I got down some baby stuff from loft to air last night like bouncer and car seat. We also got christmas tree down and putting it up tonight.

Anyone else done their xmas decorations yet?

chloesbaby · 06/12/2010 11:33

We have done some of our Xmas decs Wholelottalove

DH put lights and tinsel up everywhere this weekend, but we haven't got a tree yet, mainly because I want a real one and he wants a fake one so we are at stalemate! Last year I picked a really duff real one that dropped all its needles within about 3 days, so he's arguing we should get a fake one. But I love the smell and look of a real one! I think I will get my own way Grin just need to work on him a bit longer.

Did loads of wrapping of presents this weekend too. Just got three more things to buy, which I will try and do this weekend, then we're sorted. Just hope baby arrives before Xmas, or I won't be able to have our traditional smoked salmon and bucket of champagne Xmas breakfast Grin

CherylAnnTweedy · 06/12/2010 11:35

Just remembered the dream I had last night - I didn't give birth to a baby, just lots of jam doughnuts!
