Congrats, peepee. Hope you get on at the clinic ok and join us here properly soon.

Lovely to see more people "arriving" here.

Not feeling many symptoms yet - trying to remember when they kicked in first time round.

LilacLotus · 04/10/2005 14:53

great news peepee! congrats!

seems i'm 5 weeks today. which means that the embryo is the size of an apple pip! and it seems the heart must have started beating.

PrettyCandles · 04/10/2005 20:21

Oh good luck and congratulations peepee - I do hope this is going to be your thread! And congrats too to all the others!. Oooh it feels so exciting!

Last time (my second pg) I did the test on the first likely day and was at the GP the following day, and he couldn't believe that I had 'booked-in' so soon. This time, I'm nearly 6 weeks and I still haven't got around to going there.

My aunt is coming from Israel on Thursday, and dh wants us to delay announcing until she arrives. But we had a great family dinner last night, and oh it was difficult not to say anything. To make it worse, I was at my parents' all day helping to prepare, and had to pass my bouts of morning sickness off as a tummy bug - pretending I had caught a mild attack of ds's bug! Which may be half true anyway, seeing as the world has been dropping out of my bottom .

At least I got away with not drinking at dinner by being the designated driver.

Flum · 04/10/2005 23:48

Another sign up.

due date 11/06/06 according to babyworld. Although DD (20months) was fortnight late so not holding my breath.

Am thrilled, thrilled, thrilled and scared, scared, scared. DH's business went down the swanny 2 months ago and he still doesn't have a new job.

I just started a job 2 days a week but, only started last week so don't think will get any maternity benefit as spose effectively was pregnant when I started.

Anyway ,

Dana · 05/10/2005 10:31

Congratulations Flum!!! It's all a big mix of emotions isn't it. I hope your DH will find another job soon, so that you can feel a bit more secure. You should be getting stat. maternity pay if nothing else, shouldn't you?

Got the date for my first doctors appointment today, the 24th Oct. I will be nearly 8 weeks then. Ooooh exiting .

I would like some more symptoms soon. I am a bit more tired than normal and don't feel like eating anything. But the nausea, dizziness, sore boobs and period-like pains I had at the end of last week and over the weekend have all disappeared again, so now I don't really feel pregnant.
Imagine actually wishing for morning sickness . I know I should just count my blessings....

LilacLotus · 05/10/2005 14:39

congratulations flum! i hope your DH finds a new job soon. it is awful to have this sort of thing happen when you're expecting. i remember DP got made redundant a month before DD was due! could have definitely done without that. and our car got stolen a week before she was born!

dana, i keep being told it's so weird that i am not feeling sick, but i tell everyone that by week 8 i will be walking around with a bucket 24/7!

Dana · 05/10/2005 15:04

With DS I didn't feel a thing before I was 8-9 weeks gone and didn't think anything of it. I think I just worry a bit more this time.

A colleague who is on maternity leave phoned today to discuss some practical details about her coming back to work next month. And she said half jokingly: "Oh, i bet you'll be pregnant before I come back." I couldn't lie, could I?! She has promised not to tell anyone until I am ready to though, and I suppose it will be nice that someone knows when I am feeling really sick and tired.

Flum · 05/10/2005 21:38

mmmm, I've got no symptoms yet. Good I say, felt as sick as a dog and v. v. tired for about 2 months last time. Can live with out that as long as possible.

I just feel normal.

In fact I am kidding myself I don't know yet that I am pregnant as I am still having a glass or two of wine each night and a brie sandwich at lunch. I mean I wouldn't worry if I didn't know did I.

Have stopped smoking and taken a folic acid pill. Two gold stars for me then.

I'm not telling anyone I'm pregnant until it starts to show. Because once they know they start 'policing', not in your condition etc.

Also sposed to be going skiing at end of January. Will be 4 and half months gone then. Don't want to ski with a big bump as sure will fall over, and I never fall over (too cold - hee hee)

ho hum, conundrums conundrums.

DH wants a boy. so do I really, but girl would be nice too (wouldn't need to buy any new clothes!)

emkana · 05/10/2005 22:40

May I join you?

My due date is the 8th of June by the look of it. I have two dd's, four and two years old.

I can't believe that I'm pregnant, haven't really got any symptoms either and relieved to read that most of you are the same!

Here's to a healthy pregnancy for all of us!

LilacLotus · 06/10/2005 08:57

emkana congratulations!!! and welcome!

i've got enhanced sense of smell now. it's not very nice, really.

justbetweenourselves · 06/10/2005 09:31

I've also got an enhanced sense of smell which isn't great. Really notice it at work.

Apart from that, and the very occasional fleeting nausea (did I imagine that) have no symptoms. Kind of hoping they'll kick in soon though.

hannibo · 06/10/2005 11:36

hi everyone and congratulations to flum and emkana. i have no real symptoms either, last time sore boobs and nausea from day one. I suppose it makes not telling everyone easier if i am feeling well.

Dana · 06/10/2005 12:09

Congratulations emkana!!! Oooooh, so many of us now, and still lots more to come I imagine .

Glad to see I am not alone in hardly feeling pregnant. I am sure it will come soon enough for us all though.

LilacLotus · 06/10/2005 12:25

does anyone get tummy cramps? i got them from just before my period was due and it's not constant, just when i sit in a certain way or when walking. i think it might be ligaments/muscles adjusting or something.

PrettyCandles · 06/10/2005 13:18

Me too, LilacLotus - just occasionally in certain postures.

I've definitely got morning sickness though. And my favourite sugar-free mints taste absolutely vile now - which is weird, because I got into sucking them last pg, to ease the unpleasant taste in my mouth!

Coming-out-of-the-closet day today for me this evening. Can't wait!

It feels like there are stages to feeling pg: first the test, then the symptoms, then pass 8 weeks so I'll know it's not ectopic, then I start needing maternity trousers, then the dating scan so that I can see there really is something there, and finally at last feeling the baby move - and having a proper bump to stroke. Oooooh I'm so looking forward to all of this. This is going to be our last baby, and I'm goign to enjoy it as much as poss!

Congrats and welcome to fellow gravid ladies .

justbetweenourselves · 06/10/2005 15:02

Have your tummies changed at all yet? I'm sure mine is more round in the evenings . . . I know it's just hormones/fluids/etc/etc but it's still definitely more round.

PrettyCandles · 06/10/2005 15:03

My tummy's round in any case!

LilacLotus · 06/10/2005 15:39

round tummy as usual here

justbetweenourselves · 06/10/2005 15:46

Ladies, I asked if it was more round!!!!!

(Having said that, my tummy never recovered from first pg!)

LilacLotus · 06/10/2005 15:49

ohh maybe a little at the bottom. i did notice my trousers are very tight atm.

Flum · 06/10/2005 22:19

Certainly no ehanced smell. DH sitting here chomping on Stinky Bishop cheese and it doesn't even smell offensive - when I know for a fact that it smells like a room left for a fortnights holiday with a pooey nappy under the bed.

juice · 07/10/2005 05:43
