hi all, i am so sorry to hear your sad news prettycandles. lilacbump the baby is lovely and your dd is so pretty. i have not many symptoms sore nipples and feel quite tired but that maybe because dd is getting molars and waking very early at the moment. Haven't been to the doctors yet must make an appointment for next week, we haven't told anyone yet so it seems abit surreal.

Missmibaby · 13/10/2005 09:56

Can I join this thread? I'm a bit of a sporadic user I'm afraid (Diddle do you remember me from the TTC after a MC one?)
Congratualtions Diddle by the way.
I saw my doctor this week and he has given me a due date of 6th June. Feelings are all over the place - ometimes clm and relaxed others comletley convinced that I'm going to lose this little one. Keep talking to it (something I never did with my first - not very sentimental me).

Anyway anyone else been suffering form mild lower backache - kind of in the kidney area?

Diddle · 13/10/2005 10:02

glad i'm not the only one having nightmares.
lilacbump - have a bath
missmibaby - of course i remember you, congrats hun. yes i have lower back pain, esp after i've been in bed.

I have been to the doctors this morning to book in, and they are getting me a midwifes appointment within the next 2 weeks, to try and get me an early scan because i've had 2 miscarriages in the last 9 months. I was very impressed with them, i didn't even have to ask.

LilacBump · 13/10/2005 11:09

congratulations and welcome missmibaby!!!

i have had pain in my kidney area, but that's normal for me i'm afraid. i get kidney and bladder infections all the time because of an abnormality on a kidney. but i suppose they have to work extra hard now. i was reading that our digestive system works very different now to absorb nutrients better. it would kind of explain the constipation and nausea.

i am also looking for a good pregnancy book. i had a few last time, but gave them all away. i bought a mirriam stoppard one on ebay but it had disgusting drawings in it and photos that looked like they were taken in the 70s, though it was printed in 2001! anyway, i've sold that one again with a profit now i quite liked this one , which had a good week to week guide.

diddle, i will try having a bath tomorrow morning

btw, is anyone rhesus negative? i am and DD was rhesus positive.

Diddle · 13/10/2005 11:40

lilacbump - i bought this one from mamas and papas when i was pregnant earlier this year and its lovely, full of the info you need, i like it.

pregnancy book

Dana · 13/10/2005 11:51

Congratulations Missmibaby . I have a constant dull ache in my lower back and have had it for a couple of weeks. Think it is quite normal.

I thought this book was excellent when pg first time, though maybe not the best if you are looking for certain facts. I also had "what to expect when you're expecting", but didn't really use it much. Gave both away after birth, and this time I think Mumsnet will be enough help

Dana · 13/10/2005 11:54

Diddle, I get an error message when I click on your link...

Dana · 13/10/2005 12:28

Btw Lilac, Found out during last pregnancy that I am rhesus negative as well, but they never really told me anything about it apart from having to have a wee card on me at all times stating that I am.

LilacBump · 13/10/2005 13:31

dana, i had an injection after DD was born. GP said i will just need a few more bloodtests this time to make sure all is well.

that link doesn't work here either.

Diddle · 13/10/2005 13:42

oh dear it works for me maybe i'm signed in on it, will double check

Diddle · 13/10/2005 13:43

pregnancy bible

Diddle · 13/10/2005 13:43

try that one

LilacBump · 13/10/2005 18:13

diddle, that book looks really good. thanks!

i dragged DP to mothercare this afternoon and bought some maternity bras. must say, the boobs feel much much better.

Prettybird · 14/10/2005 10:43

Saw the GP on Wednesday to tell him I was pregnant.

He's arranged an early scan for me next week to reassure me, as I had a missed miscarriage two years ago. It'll also set dh's mind to rest (hopefully! ) abut the possibility of twins, as he dad twins read into his palm once (plus we're both older parents, plus we're both left handed, plus he was the survivor of an indentical twins pair - the other one died from twin to twin transfusion, plus I was on Clomid......)

I'll be just over 7 weeks then.

I'm still feeling disgustingly healthy - barring a bout of food poisoning last night that both dh and I suffered from. Fortunately, although ds' dinner was also served up, he didn't eat any of it as he got sent to bed for mucking about!

nic33 · 14/10/2005 13:29

I'm feeling completely knackered. Any advice on energy boosts? DS won't allow me to have any more sleep, and feeling like totally useless mother (not for first time). And I had the dream about bleeding too.

Apologies for being moany cow. I should just be happy, not an emotional wreck.

Noonee · 14/10/2005 14:17

Just been to the doctor because my asthma had mysteriously started - I never get it and I've just had a bout of it. The doctor said I was high risk because I am 35 and need to get lots of tests done. She's made me feel worried. I was only asking her if I was still OK to use my inhalers...
She is one of these doctors that cover for holidays so I don't want to see her again. However I've made an appointment with the midwife who says I should see her at 11 weeks. Does this sound right? There's nothing like a comforting doctor is there?

Thanks for all the book recommendations, I have picked one and it's on its way.

Noonee · 14/10/2005 14:19

Nic33 - I can't get my energy levels up either. Someone at work said that you can't do anything about it as the baby growing is sapping your energy.

Diddle · 14/10/2005 14:27

noonee - yes seeing the midwife at 11 weeks is right, I saw mine with my last pregnancy too early at around 8 wks and there really wasn't much they could do, just paperwork, i couldn't have a scan or bloods done or anything.

nic33 - I also have no energy and i'm a childminder, have 3 kids here at the mo, keeping motivated when all i want to do is curl up on the sofa is tough, and they along with my baby are taking all my energy off me. they're watching tv for a bit to calm down, and let me rest for a minute or two.
I ahve no idea what we can do to change it, apparently it gets easier after the first trimester, so lets hope we get there soon, i'm only 6 wks so 1/2 way left.

Jen1209 · 14/10/2005 14:45

Hi - please may I join? Had my BFP on Weds (and another last night to make sure) and went to the Dr today who confirmed and gave date of 14th June 06!!!!!

Am so excited and scared. Got pregnant at exactly same time of year 4 years ago (previous partner) and had a m/c at 7 weeks. Dr seems v happy today though and I feel different from before - much more queasy and tired. I am also very bloated and have tight trouser syndrome!!

Hurrah for us all - hi to lilacbump - remember you from ttc threads and to Dana too!!!

Right, off for a lovely weekend in Tunbridge Wells at my FIL's, take care all, have splendid weekends and lets keep our beanies safe!

J x

Diddle · 14/10/2005 14:48

hi Jen - I have tight trouser symdrome too, and feel rough as houses. bleugh. welcome. have a lovely weekend and congrats

Diddle · 14/10/2005 15:34

something very weird has happened today. One of my mindies has come home with a party invitation today and a note addressed to me from the child whos party is parent. The letter says at the end p.p.s hope you and bump are ok. well i know that my mindies mom is pregnant, but my pregnancy is not public knowledge and now i'm very curios as to whether she means me or my mindies mom. very weird, unless i look huge and they can tell.

LilacBump · 14/10/2005 19:42

jen, welcome and have a great weekend!

i have started feeling sick. just every hour or so i get this overwhelming nausea and it goes away when i eat. i am also craving sweet food. i might be gaining a lot of weight like this... i bought some tracker bars in tesco this evening as something to snack on when i'm out and when i got home i saw they contain peanuts!

Jen1209 · 16/10/2005 15:50

Hi - well am back after a weekend of keeping very quiet when DP's dad brought up how he is hoping to be a grandad again soon - tee hee. I would love to tell him but really don't want to tempt fate and also DP has a psycho sister who threatened to kill me if I got pregnant before her, and I know his Dad couldn't keep the news to himself. Pyscho sis lives abroad but even so, I have no desire to be the recipient of a nasty phone call just yet!!!

Had a fab weekend though, just chilling and spending time with DP and his Dad + stepmum...

How is everyone else? Lilac bump - I have exactly the same thing, really sicky until I eat!!! Trying to stick to carrot sticks and apples but sometimes lemon curd on toast is the only thing that will do!!!

justbetweenourselves · 16/10/2005 19:26

Oooh lemon curd on toast sounds fab.

I am also signed up to the tight trouser brigade. Hey ho, never mind!

Haven't had internet access for a few days, so nice to read up on how everyone is doing.

Jen1209 · 16/10/2005 19:33

Ooooh it is, it is! Haven't had it for ages and DP bought me a jar today - mmmmmmm
