ooooo sarah, i wish i was going back to Florida, we went ofr our honeymoon and i have been loads as a child, its wonderful, we're saving to go back next xmas, just love the atmosphere, not bothered about the rides.

sarahsbump · 10/11/2005 19:11

Hey Diddle its my first time but DP has been 7 times!! i cant wait im getting so excited now plus we have another big event to look forward to after the holiday

Dana · 11/11/2005 09:01

Good morning all and welcome to Sarahsbump

I am so happy today. I had my scan yesterday and there was one (DH was hoping for twins, I wasn't!!) little 30 mm long baby there with a strong heartbeat. 2 arms, 2 legs and everything in the right place. And the woman who scanned me said that once you have seen the heartbeat at this stage, the risk of miscarriage is significantly reduced.
For the first time since I took the test, I am actually starting to believe that we will have a baby at the end of all this.
My due date has been put back to the 11th June, so I am only 9 weeks and 5 days rather than 10+3, but I had kind of expected that because of my irregular periods. So exactly 7 months from today....

Morning (all day) sickness seems to be getting worse rather than better, but who cares .

How is everyone else today?

Laura032004 · 11/11/2005 09:23

Welcome to BabyBelly and sarahsbump and congratulations to you both

Glad to hear your scan went well Dana.

I had my booking in yesterday - just all the questions and blood tests as I'm only 8wks. Last time was better as it was 12w so we got to hear the heartbeat. Found out my 12w scan will be between 12 & 14 weeks, so hopefully this side of Christmas.

Hope everyone is feeling well. Still feeling sickish, but not as bad as I was.

Bugs · 11/11/2005 09:25

Morning! hi Dana
Atlast my morning (all day) sickness is slowly easing up but i could still sleep 18 hrs a day but on the plus i'm starting to eat better now i've even been and bought all the stuff for a full roast dinner tonight yum i can't wait. You watch i'll cook it and not want it I finally booked my first scan only downside is i wanted late afternoon so dh could come but i HAVE to have it in the the morning as thats the only time the consultants are in (had p.e with dd and early stages cervical cancer last year) so dd is having a day off school to come with me and dh will have to pull a fast one
Its slowly sinking in now that i am pregnant - i let myself have a little look at the baby clothes in Tescos last night & saw a lovley growbag for £10 but they only had pink & blue.

Anyway sorry for the waffle i hope everybody else is slowly feeling better.
Take care
D

Diddle · 11/11/2005 10:10

Dana - that is fantastic news, sounds like baby is doing well, that fantastic news. Congratulations.

10 wks today!!!!! feeling lots of stretching aches in the last 2 days, nothing major, just twinges, very annoying. Can't wait for my scan in 6 days, can't believe its friday again today already.

hope everyone else is doing well.

Dana · 11/11/2005 12:23

Bugs, glad to hear you are feeling better, when is your scan booked for.

Diddle congratulations on getting to 10 full weeks. Only two more to go before the magic 12 week mark, I'm sure it'll fly in! What day is your scan next week?

Lilac, has your infection cleared up yet?

My boobs seem to have exploded over the past week. DH was chuffed until he realised that they hurt if he even looks at them.

Diddle · 11/11/2005 12:28

dana - scan is booked for next Thursday!!!! woohoo

Bugs · 11/11/2005 12:53

Scan booked for 2 weeks today and can't wait. And yes the boob fairy has arrived here too

Diddle · 11/11/2005 13:08

anyone found any decent looking maternity bras, i've had mine from m&s and they are horrible, so high in the middle, can't wear low tops, and they looked gross. want something a bit sexier, but supportive.

justbetweenourselves · 11/11/2005 13:13

Diddle, I went to John Lewis to be measured. The lady gave me a sports bra, £20, and fitted it to me. I never had anything so brilliant last time - it really is good. It is so comfortable and so supportive. I only got one in case I change again, but really, really recommend you get properly fitted - you'll notice and feel the difference immediately. I had M&S mat bras last time and didn't rate them, nor did JL when I went in a couple of months later complaining of being sore and could they help me out . . . .

Glad to hear about the scans - good news. Mine is Monday, will be glad to know everything is ok. May even revert to my normal MN name then, you never know (hate having to remember to switch between the two!!)

Have great weekends all.

docket · 11/11/2005 15:34

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind if I join you, I'm due on 9 June. Have a ds who was one in October, this pregnancy has come as a bit of a 'surprise' but not an unhappy one. Need some decent mat. bras myself as hideous, threadbare and totally unsupportive ones from last time simply cannot be worn again. In fact, I'm off to throw them out now...

Diddle · 11/11/2005 16:24

thanks for the advice justbetweenourselves, haven't got a john lewis close enough here, but will hunt one out. think the nearest is bristol, and i'm in the midlands

slinkstah · 11/11/2005 17:20

D

Bugs · 11/11/2005 20:12

Diddle just chesked john lewis have stores in ; Nottingham , Solihull , Milton Keynes , Sheffield , Trafford centre & Cheadle.
Hope this helps
D

LilacBump · 11/11/2005 21:04

the john lewis is nottingham is great for getting fitted. i've bought quite a few bras from there. they are pricey though.

my infection, there's no pain or any other symptoms. things have been hectic this week (car broke down, heating broke), so i didn't get to the doctor.

i don't want to start a debate, but DP's sister is pressuring me into breastfeeding. she was really making me feel awful and guilty. i got quite upset about it, no thanks to the hormones. i hated breastfeeding with DD and we decided to bottlefeed from the start this time. or maybe after a week of breastfeeding, if i could even manage that. DP said that if she talks like that again i should tell her to mind her own business. i've never told her off for any of her parenting decisions, so i don't see why she's doing it with me.

diddle, well done for getting past the 10 week mark!

dana, i am glad your scan went so well. did you get pictures?

docket, congratulations and welcome! i have added you to the big list

Curlycapers · 12/11/2005 11:56

Hello everyone! I'd like to poke my nose in and join you! I'm 10 wks pg today! How are you all feeling? My sicky days are fading now, just getting insanely tired all day.

LilacBump · 12/11/2005 19:34

hi curlycapers! congratulations!!!
when is your due date so i can add you to the list?

Curlycapers · 12/11/2005 21:39

I am due on 10th June. This one will be my third, ds is 7 and dd is 2.

LilacBump · 13/11/2005 11:03

i know this might be just my imagination, but i am sure that i can feel the baby move. i've noticed it since last night and it feels exactly how it did when i was pregnant with DD. i've had a look in the mumsnet archives and there are other mums who mention feeling movement from about 10-11 weeks.

i went into nottingham yesterday for a shopping trip. i ended up trying on every pair of maternity trousers i could find. but i need to wait a couple of weeks as my bump isn't quite big enough yet. DD was very good and patient with me, bless her. i liked some stuff in h&m and next, but dorothy perkins was a big disappointment.

Bugs · 13/11/2005 12:54

Lilacbump - i've been feeling the same thing but thought i was going mad!! Atleast i'm not going mad on my own
D

Curlycapers · 13/11/2005 13:49

WOW! Lilacbump and Bugs you must both be really excited now!!! Have you felt the baby move earlier than in previous pregnancies?
