oh yay bugs! i am so glad there's someone else who feels it too!! it feels like flutters, but very concentrated low in my tummy, probably because the baby is still quite small. with DD i felt it at about 18 weeks (i'm 11 weeks on tuesday).

Bugs · 13/11/2005 16:35

Lilacbump- lmao thought i was the only going mad!! yep it feels the same as it did with dd whos 4. It feels like this little jelly bean is doing rolly polys I've got my scan on 25th and have got a sneaky feeling it's twins but heh ho we'll wait and see.

Hope everybosyd starting to feel better
D

Diddle · 14/11/2005 07:46

bugs - thank you, think we're going to take a trip to the John Lewis In Solihull, they have a mamas and papas too, which i love.
What do your little feelings feel like? I have wondered if i could feel somethin, it just feels weird sometimes when i'm sitting down.

lilacbump - I think that your DP's sister is way out of line, she should not be pressuring you like that, Its ok to give her opinion but not to force it on you to the point of upsetting you. I would have to say something to her if she did it again.

curlycapers - welcome, i am one day ahead of you at the moment, congrats on your news. I hope that my morning sickness starts to vanish now too.

Well i managed to get to the shops at the weekend and bought some maternity trousers and a top, from mothecare, they didn't have a very exciting selection, but i found one pair of trousers i liked and one comfy top, so i've had those and bought some bigger pj's because mine are just digging in. Can't wait for my scan on Thursday, keep dreaming about it.

10wks 3 days

BabyBelly · 14/11/2005 07:58

Had my first check up last Friday and all is well. Saw the tiny baby....and saw the heartbeat. We were so happy
8 weeks and 4days now.
Feeling really fat these days as none of my clothes fit

Diddle · 14/11/2005 08:09

thats excellent babybelly, so reassuring seeing baby isn't it.

Does anyone have any feelings about what they're having? you know when you imagine the baby when its born do you always think of it as a boy or a girl?

BabyBelly · 14/11/2005 08:18

Yes, Diddle....it felt wonderful.
All this while it didn't seem so real. My DH has been extra loving towards me since the scan. He keeps telling me how much he LOVES me so many times a day....he did it before but I see a definite increase in lovey doveyness...heehee. I'm loving it.
I can see that he is so very thrilled and seeing the baby had some affect on him

Have had no thoughts about the baby's gender yet. We have been looking at both boy and girl names.

Dana · 14/11/2005 09:36

Welcome and congratulations to Docket and curlypapers!!

Babybelly, it's the best feeling isn't it, seeing the tiny baby and the heartbeat .

Lilac, your SIL is definately out of line!! It is such a personal thing and the most important thing is that you are happy with your choice - happy mum, happy baby!! Think you should tell her how upset it makes you, if she mentions it again!
On the bright side, how exiting to be feeling life already. I can't wait for those first flutters .

Diddle, I recommend JL as well for maternity bras - very professional fitting and a nice selection!

I am off to Berlin with work for the rest of the week so probably won't be on again before Monday. Hope you all have a great week and good luck to those who are having scans, check-ups etc.

Dana · 14/11/2005 09:38

Forgot to say, with DS I was certain it was a boy from day 1 - and it was. This time I have no idea.

LilacBump · 14/11/2005 10:10

dana, have a nice time in berlin!

has anyone tried the chinese gender predictor ? it says we're having a boy.

Diddle · 14/11/2005 10:17

i've just done it lilacbump and it says that we're going to have a boy. wonder if its true. well i just hope its a baby not bothered at all about which sex it is. But when i think about it, i picture a girl, wonder if thats just psychological because i'm a girl.

hmm we'll see.

dana - have a good time in Berlin, don't get overdoing it.

ladyschaefer · 14/11/2005 14:31

When i was pregnant with dd i was positive from the start it was a girl. This time i have no idea, the gender predictor says boy. If im honest i really dont mind what i have as long as its healthy.

I have a scan on 1st December, cant wait for that. Im not sure if this question has already been asked but is anyone going to find out the sex of thebaby at the 20 week scan? Im going to only because i think it gives the baby a bit more of an identity and it will be nice for my dd to know if she's going to have a little brother or sister.

Diddle · 14/11/2005 14:35

ladyschaefer - we're not finding out, had a friend of a friend who did find out and they bought loads of boys stuff, even decorated, then had a girl. was a huge surprise.

LilacBump · 14/11/2005 14:35

ladyschaefer, i am pretty sure it is the 20 week scan where they check for the sex. DD kept her legs crossed during all three scans i had after 20 weeks! definitely had a feeling she'd be a girl though. everyone talks about this one as a 'she'.

sarahsbump · 14/11/2005 14:53

I have read that little morning sickness can indicate a boy (ive had none at all-yet!) and the predictor says boy but when ever i talk about bubs i always say she-it just slips off my tongue so maybe im sensing a girl or maybe im just daft lol i want a suprise in 1 way but i would like to know so that i dont keep calling it 'it' if that makes sense-will just wait and see if they can tell at the scan

abbey1515 · 14/11/2005 20:08

Hi!
Would like to join in please! Am due June 8th.
Being very sick, but amso excited!

BabyBelly · 15/11/2005 09:43

Congratulations Abbey1515!
I'm feeling quesy too.

Someone asked me if I was pregnant today! I'm not supposed to look pregnant at 8 weeks
Must be because I have started wearing loose fitting clothes. Usually I wear body fitting clothes. Even then, I am so gutted to think that I'm looking so fat now. I guess I have been over-eating....it's either feeling nauseous or eating. Somehow when I eat I don't feel nauseous.
Feeling really depressed and fat today

Curlycapers · 15/11/2005 09:50

Congratulations Abbey1515, As the latest newie to this thread I would love to welcome you! Thank you for the lovely welcomes and congrats from Diddle and Dana. Wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies. its not fair you are all having scans and check ups and I haven't even seen my midwife! Does anybody have any blood test advice? Everytime I have one my arm really hurts and bruises for 3 or 4 days afterwards and i end up putting it in a sling as thats the only way to make it comfortable. Does anybody else get this or is it just me with my pathetic bony arms?! Could I ask them to take blood from somewhere else?

Diddle · 15/11/2005 10:59

welcome abbey1515, congrats on your pregnancy, and don't worry hopefully the sickness will start to pass soon, you're coming to the end of your first trimester already so hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones who only has it for 3 months and not 5.

curlycapers - haven't had a blood test for ages, but i hate them, hate needles! hope my armd oesn't drop off. they might be able to take it from somewhere else, i don't see why not. worth asking.

abbey1515 · 15/11/2005 11:08

Hi, thanks for the welcome!
I have a CVS tomorrow which I'm not looking forward to, although it will mean I will get to have my second scan which I am excited about. What can you see at 10+5?
Also has anyone else had any doubts about the dating scan- I should have been 6 weeks when I had my scan, but was 7+5. Notvsure if I had got pregnant month before and not realised, or else just having a big baby!

Laura032004 · 15/11/2005 11:35

Wow! Loads of posts - getting busy now! It won't be long now until there's a 'due in Aug' thread, and then we'll seem even further on our way!

Welcome and huge congratulations to Curlycapers and abbey1515

Curlycapers - toward the end of my last pg, they really struggled to get blood from my arms, so resorted to my hands. That hurt more IMO, but might be easier to protect afterwards than your whole arm?

abbey1515 - good luck for the scan tomorrow. V.jealous ! I'm hoping my dating scan gets my dates spot on as I didn't have a dating scan last time, and went nearly 3wks over my dates Can you remember what your period before you fell pg was like? I think it's quite common to have a last light period before realising you're pg. Maybe you'll get a different result from your next scan, or your 20wk scan?

BabyBelly - It's probably the change in your clothes if they are different to what you normally wear. When are you planning on telling people?

justbetweenourselves / WasWondering - is waswondering your normal MN name? Glad the scan went well

Maybe we should do a stats list as well as the due dates list? What have other threads done? Age / DH/P age / previous children ages / where in the country? Any other ideas?

Diddle · 15/11/2005 11:47

good idea laura, we could have a stats section, should we ahve it as another thread or just a message on this one?

abbey1515 - when i had my last scan at 8wks they made the baby as being 7wks 4 days, which i know is possible as i ovulated later than the average 14 days, if you ovulated earlier in your cycle then it is totally possible that your baby is bigger than expected. I think i'm gonna take what they say with a pinch of salt becasue not all babies are the average size some will be bigger and smaller.
