Just a new thread as I noticed we are near the limit (again)!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
smallblackflowers · 31/10/2010 08:57

I sleep terribly at the moment - am often awake for a hour or more in the night, in addition to frequent wee trips and then when I'm finally sleeping DD is waking up...can't wait until I'm on mat leave and DD is still at nursery full time so I can catch up on sleep before DS arrives. Only 10 weeks and counting!

smallblackflowers · 31/10/2010 09:03

x posted angels glad to hear your DH is more excited about your baby girl now - I def think its easier to bond earlier when you know the sex. Don't worry about your dreams either, they are just an outlet for your subconscious anxieties.

Am trying to decide whether to take DD to the park or the shops at the moment. Fancy a browse around primark but I guess that half the population of the universe will have the same idea.....

darkangels1 · 31/10/2010 09:15

Oh I'm off to primark tomorrow sbf. It's quite sad as I'm really looking forward to it! Am stocking up on baby bits (never even looed in primark for baby stuff, just assuming they sell it) and hoping to get some big comfy shoes as my shoes are all getting a bit tight with all the water renention I have - both wedding and engagement ring are now off :(

zerolimbszeroeyeballs · 31/10/2010 10:04

I think baby clothes in Primark are pretty exciting... assuming they sell them. We're off to see Despicable Me in a bit, in 2D because DH hates 3D (I do too... but not as much as him).

Happy Halloween!

ledkr · 31/10/2010 12:21

Hi all. Yes primani do quite nice baby stuff.
I have been given so much i seem to not need to buy anything except a pram and maybe some cardis.Sorted it all out yesterday and started washing it. Feel so much better now.
Spd is getting me down now.Pysio not helping much so am going to see osteopath this week and also treat myself to a massage. The pain is very wearing even tho its not as severe as some people get. I had a bath just now and that really helps but then slipped a bit when i got out and set it off,sat on the loo seat and cried then!!Dh is very good but i dont think people truly understand.
angels my dh has finally realised we might actually have a baby soon. Since the scan he has been all soppy and said "i cant believe she is mine"really sweet.I cant stop looking at the pics. I can even see her hair.

40WickedWeeks · 31/10/2010 13:06

Hello girls

The 3/4 d scans sound so great, am do jealous! Have just sold my original travel system, got a bit sad actually, remembering ds1 all snuggled up in the cot and never thinking he would be big enough for the pushchair and now he is nearly 4! it was my best friends sis that bought it and she also might buy the car which would be a result.

Have now been invited to a Halloween party so am hoping ds1 will qualify in a pirate costume, ds2 will wear his skeleton pyjamas, is that terrible? [hconfused]

Have fun in Primark girls, agreed babes should be in babygros for as long as poss, ESP whenever start to fill out with chubby bits!

40WickedWeeks · 31/10/2010 13:07

Sorry typing not great, on iPhone and it keeps autocorrecting!

Highlandgirl · 31/10/2010 17:16

I'd quite fancy a set of skeleton pyjamas....!!

zerolimbszeroeyeballs · 31/10/2010 17:54

I agree with highlandgirl, skeleton pyjamas sound like a better costume than most!

Just assembled the infamous cotbed ready to show to MIL when she pops in in a couple of hours. The idea is that once she sees it she'll realise what a brilliant idea it was. We can't put it up, though, as some of the parts are missing. Oh well.

For anyone who cares, Despicable Me was great, I would definitely recommend it. Now all I have to do is sit on the sofa and do marking until the x factor starts up...

zerolimbszeroeyeballs · 31/10/2010 19:19

Oh, has anyone booked antenatal classes yet? We want to do NHS ones and there's been some confusion with the midwife and hospital about when we actually do them. Anyone else booked in yet?

40WickedWeeks · 31/10/2010 20:04

The skeleton PJs are from BabyGap if anyone fancies some for their DCs, it bubbas to be. They are skinny pyjamas too and they are just so cute.

Haven't booked antenatal as we aren't doing them but did the NCT ones first time round and met some great people who are now among my closest friends. Why has midwife messed up zero ??

40WickedWeeks · 31/10/2010 20:07

And thanks for the tip about Dispicable Me, really want to take ds1 [hgrin]

That was probably my last halloweenicon [hsad] party was good though, kids have more sweets than they know what to do with. Mummy knows what to do though..... They won't miss 'em [hwink]

wigglesrock · 31/10/2010 20:24

Hello all, angels delighted to hear you got to see baby and are starting to think about names, know I'm a bit late with opinions but I love Violet, I had trouble sleeping last night/early morning and had terrible "somethings going to happen to baby" thoughts, to the point where I was actually thinking out scenarios Sad. Know its because I'm knackered, feeling like death and have loads on my plate at the minute, try not to stress too much Wink

Well dd2 birthday went off well, but very very noisy, to those worried about the birth etc just wait to you get to that delightful threenager stage Grin I was a very bad mummy and got people to get her clothes for her birthday, so she has a lovely new wardrobe that I am too be fair slightly jealous of Blush

wigglesrock · 31/10/2010 20:45

Ps zerolimbs meant to say we did NHS antenatal classes with dd1 and really got a lot out of them. I thought the baby/child first aid portion was brillant, and really appreciated the tour of delivery rooms etc. We also had a physio come in for the last 30 mins or so and do exercises with us, which helped backs etc - hope you can get it sorted out. We did ours at about 26 weeks but most people were much further on.

ProfessorLaytonIsMyZombieSlave · 31/10/2010 21:12

DD wore the Gap skeleton pyjamas as her Halloween costume last year, and then they did as pyjamas for much of the rest of the year. Glad it isn't just me who does/did that...

40WickedWeeks · 31/10/2010 21:21

DS got them as a bday gift last month and I thought, oooh handy I don't need to buy a costume for this year!

Can't believe Wagner is through....

zerolimbszeroeyeballs · 31/10/2010 22:00

40weeks No, it's not that big a cock up, just that the hospital told us to ring in late nov/early dec to book them but the Midwife reckons they're booking them now, so they can't both be right. I'll just get dh to ring them for me ring them tomorrow and sort it out. Am thinking of taking tomorrow off, actually, due to pain, but we'll see how it goes. Off to bed now, night night all x

geekygiraffe · 31/10/2010 22:11

Hello, just checking in : ) It's been a long time, hope everyone is well and happy.
Booked NCT classes, started researching nursery stuff, decorated house, got married and chosen names (well, these keep changing!) ...only downer is Anti-D jab on horizon!

hornedtoadjennyp · 31/10/2010 23:32

Congratulations on getting married giraffe! You kept that quiet! Well done on decorating the house too. I want get the bathroom done before Christmas, but we'll see!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 31/10/2010 23:40

Wow, congratulations giraffe! You have been busy.

zero I hope you feel better for a good night's sleep. I tried to book NHS classes at 20 weeks but the Nov/ Dec ones were fully booked so I'm now down to have them in Jan, the last one is 25th Jan so I'd better keep my legs crossed until after that Wink

I've had a rubbish day feeling so nauseous again, don't know why it returned but couldn't eat/ sleep and feel like I've been sailing a rough sea all day. Bit better now and praying this is just a one off Sad

Going to try and get some sleep now...

ledkr · 01/11/2010 08:36

we dont really need a class but am hoping to get atour of the hospital as its brand new and 10 miles away so would be nice to know where i will be and where to park etc.Especially as my waters have gone early with every one of my babies and i have a lot of fluid this time too so likely not to make my scheduled date for c section.
Geeky congrats on marriage.
Result this morning. Dh has said he quite likes Delilah and he hated it before,Ivy is still his fav tho and he will not be shifted on Coco. Misery haha.

geekygiraffe · 01/11/2010 09:18

Delilah is a lovely name! We don't get hospital tours cos of swine flu risk, but as the midwife said, it'll be a lovely surprise on the day ; 0

zerolimbszeroeyeballs · 01/11/2010 09:41

So tell us about your wedding giraffe was it a big do?

I'm off sick today due to pain which I now think is definately spd. Seeing doctor this afternoon. I'm really hoping that he pulls out a magic wand and makes everything better, instantly.

ledkr · 01/11/2010 09:48

zero if he does i will go to him.I am trying to stay positive but i keep bursting into tears with the pain/frustration. Went trick or treating last night and waked a fairly long way and despite my friends earlier querieing if i could manage it when we got back they all sat down and chatted whilst i did the kids party food drinks etc.People just forget as you cant see it. I may designe some "ive got spd" t shirts to wear.
How do you feel about work. I am signed off for the anaemia for the 2nd week and it doesnt seem like my gp will be letting me go back, i feel a bit feeble and guilty but am trying to get into "milk it" mode and jsut enjoy it. But hard when you are used to working.

darkangels1 · 01/11/2010 10:04

zero and ledkr sending spd free pains your way. Can't imagine how painful/frustrating it must be. In a selfish sort of way, at least I feel like I'm not to only one signed off.

giraffe congrats on the wedding Grin

We are booked on NHS classes in dec and jan. We've also booked NCT intensive course in Jan, but are considering cancelling as it's over 2 whole days, and, given I've still not really managed longer out the house than 3 or so hours in months without feeling utterly terrible, I don't think it's going to improve, and I don't want to pay for it and then only manage to go for bits...so we;re thinking if it might be better to cancel - if anyone has any thoughts/adivice on this (what decision I should go for) I would be grateful.

DH and I have now taken ophelia off the potential options as we can't say it witout a smile and thinking 'bottom'.

Was looking at the 3d photos we have and there's one where to me it REALLY looks like me I think - it's so odd to look at and sort of makes me feel really clucky but just a little freaked out at the same time.

off to primark - wooohooo. Back by lunch though (can't manage too much excitement in one day!)
