Hi all - we've very nearly exhausted the 1,000 post limit on our previous thread so here is the new one.

Looking forward to continuing to share the ups, downs, symptoms, queries, worries and joy (fingers tightly crossed!)

Welcome new people!

I was absolutely astounded that Jack is no longer the most popular boys name! It has been for years! Now it's Oliver.

CuppaMouldyBatBallsBrothJanice · 27/10/2010 19:12

Thanks petitech and takethat - good to know you had this too and everything is fine. It really spooked me!

I told myself I wasn't going to worry or moan this time - I have a good friend who has gone through chemo and surgery while pregnant and it really puts into perspective 'normal' pregnancy niggles, but also it's so inspirational to see how tough and resiliant these little beans are.

sasamaxx · 27/10/2010 19:21

Janice - lots and lots of women have small bleeds after intercourse due to cervical erosion - sounds horrible I know but nothing is actually 'eroding'. It's like inflammation. I was told at my last smear that I had this - and it's very common apparently.

For those with bumps, I'm eight+4 and my stomach is very protruding now - obviously no stomach muscles left now whatsoever to hold everything in.

Off to look at those names...

LDNlady · 27/10/2010 19:25

Hello ladies! I hope you are all well. This is the first time in probably a couple of weeks that I've checked in and it's all down to sheer and utter laziness!! :o I can't believe that I feel quite as rotten as I do most days that I can't even be bothered to pick up and switch on my wee netbook. I can safely say that I never expected the early weeks of pregnancy to make me feel quite so horrible! I mean, does anyone else feel so bad?

Anyway, I hit the 7 week point yesterday and have the joy of another internal scan tomorrow morning thanks to a cyst on my left ovary that reared it's ugly head when I was just 5+2. So, I am keeping my fingers crossed that what was a little smudge on a screen a couple of weeks ago is now a slightly bigger smudge! :)
I hope I start to feel slightly more normal soon and will join in and get to know you all a little. Take care. x

Hi all, wow, what a lot of newbies to the thread! Hi & welcome Smile

Did another CB digital (twas the 2nd in the pack of 2, DH said "Why are you doing another test?" BECAUSE IT'S THERE!! Grin It now says 3+ which is bang on as last week's said 2-3.

DH also said "That's the third one you've done isn't it?" (it's actually more like the thirtieth (internet cheapies Blush) Yes darling, it's the third Smile

I'm definitely getting a little pot belly by the end of the day and my bra is getting a bit strained! At work though funnily enough I am totally switched on, I think I must be mentally practising for even more multi-tasking! I'm not knocking it though, last time I was zonked from weeks 4-12 so I'm making the most of it!

sasamaxx · 27/10/2010 19:28

How do you access names outwith the top 100?

DS is no 51 and DD isn't on there.

Very glad that my name which used to be always in the top 20 (common as muck) has slipped to 79 - yippee!!!!

moomin156 · 27/10/2010 19:35

sasamaxx when you open the statistics there is tabs across thebottom saying table 2, table 3 et.....scroll across until you get to table 6, this is all the names! Hope that makes sense

sasamaxx · 27/10/2010 19:42

Thanks moomin156

catherineps · 27/10/2010 19:48

I'm the same date as you supermum :)

We are calling the (not) bump Piglet - just hope it doesn't come out with a curly tail!

Want2bSupermum · 27/10/2010 20:03

Awww catherineps piglet is such a cute name. I think your piglet will develop a tail next week....

mrsbigw · 27/10/2010 20:45

mouldybatballs I had similar after me & Mrbigw did our thang.

I feel a bit dull now as we just call it 'The baby'!

welcome to the new peeps & congratulations!

Sorry some of us are still feeling pretty rough, I am trying to just take one day at a time as it makes me want to cry to think I could feel like this for weeks on end ....

I dont think DP likes my girls name and I'm not too keen on his, I think I will get my own way if it's a boy though.

sasamaxx · 27/10/2010 20:48

We don't call 'the baby' anything either but DS was always referred to as 'Gnasher' Grin

8rubberduckies · 27/10/2010 21:07

We are a "the bean" household!

blimeythatwasquick · 27/10/2010 21:28

We call 'it' the shrimp at the moment :)

Someone commented about the rubbish weather at the end of August/early September being responsible for the mini baby-boom - pretty sure I was in France at the time so have to blame that well-known medical condition "the holiday horn" :o

Been on the phone to my mum and dad who live about an hour and a half away trying to convince them to come and see us on their way by to somewhere else next Weds so that I can tell them I'm pregnant in person - difficult trying not to say "just bloody come, you'll be glad you did" without giving the game away, grrrrr.

Feeling mildly guilty at just how sick and tired everyone else seems to be feeling - I really feel for you all and count my blessings, not to make you all sicker but I actually went to the gym tonight - am determined to stay fit during pregnancy. Sods law I'll wake up and start puking tomorrow now I've said that :o

Righto, off to look at the names.

Minione · 27/10/2010 21:36

Hi Ladies

AAh, I am getting pretty annoyed. Because of what happened to Malachy I was told I could have early scans, consulatant care blah blah. My scan is for the 30th November - I will be 11+4, not exactly early. I just feel like I'm being ignored, I had a miscarriage before Malachy and was told I could have an early scan with my next pregnancy which I never got.

Am still feeling sick but also very dizzy - I think it is probably low blood pressure. Ooh, the joys!

Beesok · 27/10/2010 22:34

Anyone else suffering from completely blocked nose and sniffling syndrome????? It's like my allergies just got multiplied by 10! :(

Hubby is away on business trip and I miss him but then again have the bed ALL TO MYSLEF and I can snore! [hgrin]

Feeling really nervous about my scan on Monday, last time I nearly threw up on my way to hospital out of stress...

BTW can anyone recommend any good maternity bras to use for sleeping - am sadly not very gifted in the boob department but they are tender and I feel like I need something on...

moomin156 · 27/10/2010 22:36

Hi beesok i am gifted in the boob department and they are very sore but i have just bought a secret support vest to sleep in which is working well. i didnt like the idea of sleeping in a bra and that is what was recommended by the lady in bravissimo

Thanks Moomin will check'em out!

wonnaywombat · 28/10/2010 06:32

Morning all. Welcome and congrats to all the newbies and well done to whoever managed to count us all up - what a number!

So, told the parents on Tuesday night. While they are cautious like me after mc last time, Mum was absolutely thrilled and Dad just kept saying "well done darling" - I think he's still trying to get his head round the fact that this means his daughter has actually had sex, even though I'm 37!

Had quite a wobble this morning - boobs don't seem as sore and I don't think I've had any twinges for a couple of days. Feeling as if I've been tempting fate by telling M & D but trying to look at the logical stuff - pregnancy symptoms come and go, mmcs pretty rare etc. etc.... if anyone else has any logical and positive stuff to offer, please do post it - thank you!

Wobblewatcher · 28/10/2010 06:46

Oh wonnay how I sympathise with you! I have been having similar fears, I can't win, when I do get symptoms I worry about them, and when they go it's even worse Sad

But symptoms really do come and go at this stage.

Try not to worry but I know that is much much easier said than done! Xx xx

GOOD LUCK TO THOSE WITH SCANS COMING UP

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 28/10/2010 06:54

Morning!

I keep having strange dreams that I am Ripley out of Aliens and I am been chased by one of the aliens! Woke up sddenly last night after having a dream that the alien was chasing me so had to run for ages to the very bottom of the ship I was on and I hid in the cargo hold. Then I woke up, heart racing like mad!
Weird, n'est pas? Anyone else had strange dreams?

wonnaywombat · 28/10/2010 07:49

Thanks for your kind words wobblewatcher - I hope you didn't think I was taking your name in vain! It's reassuring to know that I'm not alone in my paranoia x

karastarbuck - I can definitely report an increase in strange dreams although they vary every time.....
