Hi all - we've very nearly exhausted the 1,000 post limit on our previous thread so here is the new one.

Looking forward to continuing to share the ups, downs, symptoms, queries, worries and joy (fingers tightly crossed!)

MainlyMaynie · 26/10/2010 07:56

Morning all.

wobble I totally understand your worries. Today (5+2) is when I started to bleed last time, so I am pretty concerned today. Going to the Dr to fill in the form and take my sample in on the way to work, to try and be positive about it!

Our process for booking in with a midwife is crazy. We have to go and get the sample bottle, then go back with a sample and fill in a form. Then we're given a date to go to a briefing about healthy behaviour in pregnancy at the hospital. Then after we've been to the briefing we can make an appointment with the midwife!!

yellowtomato · 26/10/2010 08:08

Morning everyone

I am also not feeling very confident so totally know how you guys are feeling. I am 6+3 today but so far still only have sore boobs. I am spending time staring at them to see if they are getting bigger!

I would love some kind of progression or a new symptom to prove things are progressing. Time is going so slowly it's driving me mad!

Clarkiee · 26/10/2010 08:29

My symptons are very mild but over the last week or so I've developed a bump (8 weeks)- hardly told anyone so I'm trying desperately to work out what I can still wear without looking pregnant/fat!

sasamaxx · 26/10/2010 08:41

Good morning everyone.
I'm expecting a terrible day today since yesterday was so good. I have the midwife at 2.30 this aft - presumably just to get me ontoo the system - but not booking.

It is so blustery today - I actually don't mind this at all - might blow the cobwebs away and help ms - hey, might as well be optimistic lol

yellowtomato · 26/10/2010 08:46

wow Clarkiee a bump already. When did it first start, was it about 7ish weeks? i would love a bump! But I can see the concealment problem....

sasamaxx I hope the day isn't as bad as you imagine and that midwife appt goes well.

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 26/10/2010 09:11

Think it will take some time before I appear pregnant rather than just fat!

Have been given some anti-sickness tablets, I really hope they help, feel horrible this morning.

CuppaMouldyBatBallsBrothJanice · 26/10/2010 09:17

Welcome catherineps and emj1990 - I think we may have a new 'baby of the bunch' if 1990 is your birth year!!!

8rubberducks my friend used to carry a small notebook around with her when trying to give up smoking. Every time she craved a cigarette she'd draw a little picture of a fag in the book and put a big cross through it. To start with she'd have a whole page filled at the end of the day, but gradually she'd realise that there were less and less pictures until she hardly ever had cravings. Afaik she's not started smoking again, and this was 6 years ago!!

wobble I still haven't had much ms at 9+1, and I was sick quite a few times with DS. So I think every pregnancy is different.

Really struggling with boys names. There are loads of lovely girls names, but boys seem to be either overused so there will be 5 in the same class, poncey, chavvy or remind me of an old man with beetroot down his tie!! I'm starting to look at foreign names as no British ones are inspiring me!

I hope everybody's upcoming scans and appointments go well.

maddyer · 26/10/2010 09:25

Hello ladies please can I join your thread? I am new to MN so please be patient and point out the putting foot in mouth that I will invariably do! I am 5+1 today although I think I am less! I have 2DC, DS1 is eight and DS2 is two next month this Pregnancy will be my last so am planning to cherish every moment even I swear the dreaded heartburn! I am 29.

Clarkiee · 26/10/2010 09:39

Only a small one yellowtomato but its definatley there. Just appeared from nowhere at about 7 and half weeks. Normally have a pretty flat stomach so I think thats why its noticable. To onlookers I probably look like I've had lots of carbs for lunch!

Clarkiee · 26/10/2010 09:39

Oh and hi maddyer Smile

Clarkiee · 26/10/2010 09:47

Oh my god just convinced myself I'm having twins- lol (my Grandma did have two sets of twins!?!).
Come to think of it to call it a bump is an exageration- think I'm looking for signs because I've had no ms. I'm sure nobody else would notice. Just look a bit bloated (.....or is it twins- ha ha).

DungunGirl · 26/10/2010 09:52

uurrrghhh ms .... how did I forget how yukky it make you feel....

When I was feeling broody seeing all the pregnant women in my office, I totally was missing out the memory of the early pregnancy part!

urrrghhhhhh....

Can't seem to regulate body temp either, hot and cold, hot and cold...but mainly cold feet and hands.

Getting worried as last pregnancy, with DS2 had a m/c at 7 weeks....so really want 7 weeks to come and go...feels like forever! Just on week 5-6.....grrr...

yellowtomato · 26/10/2010 10:09

Clarkiee That made me laugh about twins...only reason I'm asking is because my tummy is a little bit more rounded (more so in the evening) but it is waaaaaaaaaay to early for all that but fact is I can't do my jeans up! And I've not been sick but I haven't been eating more either, slightly less if anything and without alcohol that must have saved a lot of calories......is v mysterious.

Welcome maddyer

maddyer · 26/10/2010 10:11

Thanks clarkiee I have symptoms one minute but gone the next so strange! the weirdest thing is I am totally starving all the time never had that with other pregnancies as I was so sick! think I'm gonna be the size of a house and I've been on weight watchers for 9mth and lost 3 & a half stone before getting pregnant this time
!

Clarkiee · 26/10/2010 10:22

Twins for yellowtomato too [hshock]!!! ha ha, just kidding! I've not been eating more and as you say many calories saved with lack of alcohol. Strange! Confused

Wow 3 and half stone maddyer well done!

moomin156 · 26/10/2010 10:29

Morning everyone and welcome to the newcomers....
Hope everyone has a good day. I ve got to go to work for the first time in a week :( Really do not feel like it, how you lot are working with the ms i will never know.
7+2 for me today.....not many symptoms

Sore boobs
dont fancy hot drinks
hot / cold body temp
tired all the time ( but that could just be me, as i love any excuse to sleep)

Apparantly the bean is the size of a blueberry this week!!!

takethatlady · 26/10/2010 10:39

Hi ladies,

I don't know what happened but the thread dropped off my 'Threads I'm On' list.

Sorry for tmi but I woke up really early (again) this morning and went to the loo. When I wiped it was pink. No bleeding at all since, so I'm thinking it's nothing to worry about. Have other people had this?

Boobs still fluctuating - Sunday very sore, Monday medium sore, this morning nothing at all, now approaching medium again. No other symptoms at all except for an achey back on and off (all over).

I want to puke!

mummynumber2 · 26/10/2010 11:01

How many weeks are you takethatlady. I'm exactly 8 weeks today and have has some spotting this morning and cramping last night. Really trying not to panic but the hospital don't seem too concerned, even though I've already had some issues with this pregnancy and am being monitored very closely. Apparently especially at 8 weeks, when you would have been having a period, a small amount of blood is quite common. The only time to worry is when it's bright red.

Really feeling for those of you that are sicky. I've been quite bad over the last few days. Dp's going to search out some anti sickness bands today, I'll give anything a go!

Deeadbody I'm interested in the tablets you're taking. What are they called? Might go to gp tomorrow anywY so I'll think about asking.

mummynumber2 · 26/10/2010 11:15

Sorry, for some reason my iPhone won't let me write v much without posting!

On the subject of getting big bellies, I am very big already! None of my usual clothes fit me! Luckily I've been given a huge bag of maternity clothes, and I've pretty much told everyone already. May be because it was origionally twins, only for couple of weeks and I think it's very common with ivf to be bigger earlier because of all the drugs. In fact I was getting bigger before I even got pregnant!

Oh, for anyone else who is on a tight budget, like me (especially as I'm probably cutting my hours at work by half) there's reasonable looking maternity bras at mothercare for £8. I've worked out that even with my extra growth they don't do maternity bras in my size (I'm pretty small!) so I plan to get a couple of cheap non underwired bras for the interim period.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 26/10/2010 11:22

Last night while I was cooking dinner I felt what I thought was my jeans zip give a little. I soon after realised that the button had popped open Blush. So as I'm having an at home day I've got my unattractive track pants on and am feeling much more comfy Grin

Oh Mummy2 let us know how you get on with your travel bands. I've been contemplating them, but just aren't sure.

Sarahmumtobe · 26/10/2010 11:31

Hi all and welcome to the newcomers! Lots of things to reply to

cep I hope you're feeling better today and that all ok at the doctors

Baby names- we are struggling on the boys names too- most that I mention DH doesn't like because people he didn't like at school shared the same name! We had an idea for a girl's name before TTC.
I have had the feeling cold thing too- have had heating on loads and DH is boiling whilst I'm still shivering. Also still have utter exhaustion so I'm so glad for a day off work today!
Well guess I should go and take our dog for a walk-it's raining here :-(

wonnaywombat · 26/10/2010 11:32

Re: bellies - mine is fine in the morning and then gets bigger during the day and after evening dinner, I'm struggling to keep top buttons done up.

WElcome maddyer and congrats!

mummynumber2 - thanks for that info about 8 weeks spotting - handy to know as we approach the 8 week mark. 7+4 for me today (according to dating scan from last week although LMP puts me at 8+3)

Rather excited today as my mum and dad arrive tonight to stay for 2.5 weeks and they don't know yet - still planning how to break the news!

8rubberduckies · 26/10/2010 11:37

Hi all, so many posts to catch up on and so much to do in work, so I'll try to be brief!

Thanks for your messages of support again regarding the stopping smoking. I stil haven't had a cigarette, so am on day 3! Apparently it gets easier after the third day Hmm. I love your friend's notebook idea deadbody, something to do with your hands and a visual way of seeing the cravings slowly dissipating.

Seabands really helped me with ms in 1st pregnancy, I would recommend them to all, and intend to dig mine out tonight.

I was worried about my very, very faint lines on tests last week, but did another this morning (1st since last Weds) and the line was so dark it was almost pulsating!!!! Yay!!!! One less thing to worry about!!!!

I am already exhibiting a bigger belly than normal, but it feels very much like bloating and gets worse in the evenings.

On the subject of names, we have a list as long as my arm for boy's names we love, and already think we may have hit the jackpot with one we both love, goes with DS1's, and is not overly-used at the moment. Girls names are proving a lot more difficult. We have quite different taste when it comes to girls names, and all the ones we agree on are really, really popular, which I kind of want to avoid really. It's a minefield!

mrsbigw · 26/10/2010 11:41

Morning all & welcome Maddyer!

TMI alert...Takethatlady I had a small amount of very pale pink discharge on saturday & nothing since then, it was after doing the deed though so I put it down to that. I also had just passed the 8 week mark too.

Deadbodyofkara was it hard to get the tablets from your gp? I've been put off asking mine as I've read a lot about people being refused.

Good luck at MW sasamax & at scan barbie, and to anyone else with appointments today.

maddyer · 26/10/2010 11:47

I have also been concerned with very very faint lines on test last week but am feeling better now thanks 8rubberduckies maybe I'll do another now! I was too worried to even attempt another as I did so many negative tests that don't believe I'll ever see a proper dark line! stupid I know!
