Congrats mummychicken, sounds very dramatic!

Happy new year to everyone, didn't see it in, couldn't keep eyes open, unsurprisingly!

Having a worry about my snoring, as this is what has caused DH to leave me and escape to the spare room, on many occasions recently. Am mortified at the thought of waking ladies on the post-labour wards next week, so waddled off to Boots to get some nasal strips to test. Fingers crossed cause apparently I sound like a jet engine!

LadyBuzz · 02/01/2011 09:16

kiwi DH has pointed out my snoring a number of times in the last few weeks, It will most probably stop once the baby is born Grin

MacMomo · 02/01/2011 11:31

mummychicken congrats, after all that waiting what a great birth story with the mw pulling down your knickers to catch the baby!

My little no name girl born at last at 7 pm new years eve, 6 lbs 8 oz (so not a giant baby after all); full head of long black hair and long breech legs that still stick up in the air. Cs was fine in the end, lucked in with top surgeon whose show piece seems to be breech sections through a 10cm incision. Recovery very hard so far, only so much morphine they can give you. kiwi definitely bring giant granny knickers and nighties for throwing away, and tell your partner not to look during surgery if it will give him nightmares! My anaesthetist gave me a running commentary which i found useful; dh had full view of op with people up to their elbows in me!

beijingal any more for you? Your last sounded promising.

MacMomo · 02/01/2011 11:35

kiwi also don't worry about snorIng! All on this ward snoring super loud - with newborns screaming the place down no one notices and everyone is too exhausted to be disturbed by any amount of noise!

LadyBuzz · 02/01/2011 11:45

macmomo congratulations on your little girl, how lovely. you must have been starving by the time she arrived!!

Don't worry about the recovery it gets easier I promise!

Hannah1890 · 02/01/2011 11:55

Congratulations Macmomo and mummychicken brilliant news!!

beijingaling · 02/01/2011 14:59

Congratulations Macmomo and Mummychicken!

Macmomo no nothing more at my end! No more pains either so I think it was just the chair I was sitting in or something like that.

DH has the worst tummy bug ever. The kind where you're not sure if you're better off sitting on the loo or throwing up into it and the waves of nasty never stop. If DC came now I think I'd have to phone a friend!

crumblequeen · 02/01/2011 20:15

Congratulations Mummychicken and MacMomo, hope you are enjoying the first few days.

3 weeks still to go for me, just thinking about getting hospital bag packed in case baby dares to arrive before allotted C-Section date!

splodge77 · 02/01/2011 20:43

congratulations new mummies! So exciting to hear about these new arrivals! 9 days to go til my due date but i've got a feeling mine is going to be late, need to start on the raspberry leaf tea, long walks etc. as i won't be able to go to the birthing centre i'm booked into if i have to be induced.

going to feel v weird when DP goes back to work on tues. not quite sure what i'm going to do with myself!

All the best to everyone still waiting. can't wait to hear of more new babies soon.

WalkTheDog · 03/01/2011 11:28

Congrats mummychicken and macmomo.

wintersniffle · 03/01/2011 14:57

Congratulations mummychicken and macmomo, glad you got there in the end despite the extra waits!

I'm hoping baby can hold off for a few more days as I've got a stinking cold. Has been lovely having DP off as he's been able to take DS out and entertain him so not looking forward to tomorrow when I'm back on full-time mummy duties again.

deedee321 · 03/01/2011 22:29

Keep checking hoping to hear of more babies!! Well, I am getting very impatient, due date on Fri, have been doing yoga and breathing exercises in preparation! However, did that last time then panicked and forgot all of it! Making most of dd time - she is being so sweet at the moment. Worrying about her seeming 'big' when baby appears.
Hope everyone is ok and all the new mummies are blissed out :)!

beijingaling · 04/01/2011 09:07

PFB born at 6:12 this morning. Were both doing fine though I make her scream every time I move her. Too tired to type more now but I'll post the story soon! Xxx

littlehuman · 04/01/2011 09:13

Congratulations to everyone that has already had their babies, I'm very jealous as I'm currently overdue and booked for an induction on Monday 10th Jan.

kiwijesta · 04/01/2011 11:43

Congrats macmomo and beijingaling! So nice to hear all the news! I'm sitting on my hosp bed waiting for the doc to come and see us before the section, quite nervous I must say!
Will let you know how it goes...

kiwi thinking of you! Don't be bullied into walking before you're ready, take your time. Hope it has all gone well for you

wintersniffle · 04/01/2011 17:02

Congrats beijing so all the pains were up to something, did your DH recover enough to make it to the birth? Can't wait to hear the full story.

Good luck kiwi and anyone else who's nearly there Smile!

wintersniffle · 04/01/2011 17:07

I've tried to do a link to the stats thread so we can all keep track of the arrivals - quite a few already!

It's my first attempt at a link on our new Christmas laptop so it may not work...

MacMomo · 04/01/2011 17:10

Beijing congratulations, hope you're recovering and being taken care of

kiwi thinking of you! Don't be bullied into walking before you're ready, take your time. Hope it has all gone well for you

sarrita · 04/01/2011 17:56

Anika Morag born 15:00 on Monday 3rd January 2011, 8lb 3oz.

Slightly scary start, and not the hypnobirth I had hoped for. But still managed to get her out on gas & air despite being on a monitor and other stressful things including nil by mouth!

We are in love. She's had 10 dirty nappies already, peed on a Dr and is feeding well. Back home and snuggling with her Daddy.

Congrats to bejingaling, mummychicken, macmomo!!!

Good luck kiwi.

deedee321 · 04/01/2011 19:43

Congratulations MacMomo, beijingaling, Sarrita and kiwi too!!! All these babies, so exciting, well done everyone!!
MacMomo, have you chosen a name yet? How are you feeling now?
beijingaling, I hope your birth was ok, how fantastic she has arrived.
Sarrita, how lovely you have a little girl (sure am right in thinking you have ds already) and I love her name!
kiwi I so hope your section went well and you are enjoying your new wee baby.
Can't wait till it is my turn too! Funkymonkey, was wondering if you had popped yet, you had a December due date did you not? Best of luck for it all starting by Monday!

WalkTheDog · 04/01/2011 19:48

congrats bejingaling and sarrita.

hope all doing well kiwi

hope baby makes an appearance for you before the 10th funkymonkey

Beginning to struggle over last few days, so hoping that means baby is trying to reposition and engage. MW tomorrow. Anyone had a breathless in their stomach feeling? I can't lie on my left side anymore because my tummy feels breathless if I do.
