Evening all. I'm a bit more with it this evening, although I've been running around tonight getting the house tidy and washing clothes, DH is off for a weekend away and I'm off to my mums so wanted to leave the house in an ok state!

mamasunshine I love the name you have chosen, is lovely and will be lovely as she grows up too. With regard to getting back into the knitting I found it came back to me very quickly, but someone at work helped me out, do you know anyone who can knit? Also I agree with walkthedog the library is a good place for knitting books. I got a baby blanket pattern from one at at the beginning of the book it teaches you all the different stiches and how to cast on and off etc. Very useful.

Walkthedog thanks for the sleeping tip, think I will give that one a go.

ladybuz hopefully third time lucky when you go back!

stenogirl love the creativity, my boy bump is getting what songs come into my head, poor boy probably kicking me right now to tell me to stop singing!

Am another one waiting for this increase in sexdrive, wondering whether it will ever come.

mummychicken had to laugh at your comment. I have always wanted to say that to someone as a joke! Hope the lad wasn't too traumatised!

Added myself with pride a made it on here twice in one week!
mummychicken I am very envious... been back at school since last Wednesday and was asked on several occasions by the little darlings if I had eaten lot of ice cream on my holiday! I resisted the urge to tell them I ate a baby Grin!

mamasunshine I am (much to my surprise) developing a fondness for hand knits. DH's nan is on the case bless her! Fell in love with the strawberry booties on this page when looking for ways to 'direct' her lightning speed needles! Grin www.examiner.com/knitting-in-providence/rose-bonnet-free-knitting-pattern-monster-pants-longies-and-moreBeautiful name choice too!

deedee321 I have a DS. He is 3.5 and a funny, loving little dude. I would love a DD this time, but another DS like this one would be a blessing. Where are you having your baby?

deedee321 · 10/09/2010 21:55

We are in Scotland, having baby in Ayrshire Maternity Unit which is nice new mat hospital. Def too chicken for a home birth!! What about you? The having-the-baby bit is the part that's making me panic, eek!!

travispickles · 10/09/2010 22:31

Deedee, is this your second pregnancy? This is my first - why is the having it bit making you panic, dare I ask??! Confused

CardyMow · 10/09/2010 23:00

Can someone add me in please? 16/01 - Loudlass, 29, pg9 (4th dc), BOY

sarrita · 11/09/2010 15:51

deedee321 mine will be at the ERI. Unless it is full (which happens) then it could be Livingston or I have heard Aberdeen. So could be Ayreshire. That makes me panic more than the birth - not Ayreshire, but there not being a bed. However my sister told me this and she loves a wind up story...

Have been toying with idea of homebirth but 1) DH not into it. 2) Thin walls and live in a tenement. 3) would prefer to leave the experience behind at the hospital (but I did manage natural birth no drugs last time) 4) Would rather be in the hospital incase.

watching strictly, any other fans? By the time that and xfactor is finished we will be close to our due dates.

Had a couple nights in glasgow - OH had a meeting so dog and I tagged along. Bought a changing table in ikea, have been debating wether to buy one or not, but since OH has had on/off back pain thought it worth it. Also we can reuse it afterwards to store toys etc.

I dropped off the list! travis, did not mean to make anyone worry, my first birth was ok actually, I was induced and it was very manageable with epidural - just hoping this birth is suitable for an epidural too. For me it was like a fantastic magic spell that freed me up to enjoy the birth without much pain (though I know this is not everyone's experience/opinion). I am anxious this time incase timing/situation is not right for one but am basically someone who will worry about birth whatever! Ignore me!!
sarrita I will look out for you Wink but am sure there will be beds, don't blame you for worrying bout having to travel but hopefully unusual?

Hi guys, not been on a while, had a bad cold and then a stomach bug, yuck yuck. Horrible 10 days, but back to normal now.

Abandoned potty training, he wasn't enjoying it at all and it just wasn't working out - another time I guess!

We are currently away for the weekend, visiting family and friends and having a lovely time.

We did have a c section booked for 28th but then they weren't doing a list cos of bank hol so now its 29th. Bit panicky cos close to due date of 1st jan and worried they will keep me in over new year which will be horrid Sad I will be really upset with that but can't be even over xmas cos of little boy so I guess its tough.

Starting to get scared about the idea of having 2 kids, how do you manage!! Little boy is 3 in december and gorgeous but has his moments! Scary.

Anyway, enough waffling, hope you're all ok xx

mummychicken · 12/09/2010 08:15

Homebirth has NEVER crossed my mind - I wouldn't know where to get plastic sheeting Grin.

A friend recently had an accidental homebirth, but she was lucky enough to be able to nip in to the ambulance for the ness afterbirth bit!

tellnoone · 12/09/2010 11:37

Littlehuman yes mine is constantly moving and kicking me quite hard!

Could someone add me in again because can't get the hang of copying and pasting on new iPad?

My dates put me January but scan brought it forward, exact same happened for previous two, and they were both about a week late! (and closer to my dates.)

Hey everyone, I am so bad at keeping up with threads and posting etc. Have added myself (and feelinghip and tellnoone) to the list. Had 20 week scan - all looked good but have to go back as the baby was being obstinate and wouldn't move so they could see everything! Baby moves lots - I really love feeling it except when he/she stomps on my cervix - ouch! Hope you're all doing well!

careylouwho · 12/09/2010 14:37

Oh and mamasunshine I love the name Arabella - it's on our shortlist too but our shortlist is really a longlist at the moment lol - I put anything on it which we both don't hate as there really aren't that many we can agree on! Anyone else get their favourite names vetoed by DP?

stenogirl · 12/09/2010 16:59

Hey girls, lots of movement here too. It's weird if you're at work and trying to concentrate!
I've had Charlie vetoed and any Irish names he can't spell! And I don't want anything that ends in LY cos his DD's name ends in LY.

Anyone got itchy shins? Mine are really itchy in the evenings and I've taken to putting a cold wet tea towel on them. Oh the glamour!

splodge77 · 13/09/2010 08:40

22+6

hi all

well, having been living in leggings and dresses for the last god knows how long I'm caving in and going to buy some maternity jeans. I had a peek in topshop but they all seemed to be straight leg or skinny which look silly on me as i'm short - looking for bootcut and don't really want to buy online as i want to try on first.
Any recommendations of good mat jeans shops?

crumblequeen · 13/09/2010 09:10

Hi splodge I usually get bootcut jeans too and found some in Red Herring maternity at Debenhams which fit well, although I needed a belt too. Got a canvas belt without holes which can be adjusted to wherever you need it (whispers... 'from Primark')

jobi1 Yes I have a few panics about how I will manage with 2, but I think you must get back into the swing of life much quicker with the second (as there is no other option!) and I console myself with the fact that there are others who cope with more than 2 so it can't be that bad!!?

crumblequeen · 13/09/2010 09:13

PS mamasunshine I love Arabella too, and was on our list for a while but we have decided that names starting with A don't really sound good with our surname!

careylouwho · 13/09/2010 10:02

splodge77 I got some nice boot cut, over bump jeans from Next. I wore them last night and they were very comfortable. I did have to order them but it's not too bad with Next as you can pick them up from their shop and then return them to any shop if they don't fit so not as much hassle as some on-line ordering.

stenogirl We really struggled with boys' names as most of the ones that I suggested my DH thought were "too posh" (well he is from Middlesbrough!). But we have a few that we seem to agree on with Leo being the leading contender. Now we're fighting about girls names...

crumblequeen and jobi1 I'm shitting myself about just having the one!
