Good luck girls!! Thinking of you Jobi and mummychicken. xx

Parker23 · 29/12/2010 08:49

Well, it turns out those pains were up to something! Gave birth to Darcie Rose (we think!?) on Dec 28th 4.15am! 7.5llbs and absolutely perfect! Even if I do say so myself! BH all day on the 28th as I walked around the sales! Got home, started mild contractions at about 4pm but they were every 5mins. Quickly escalated to every 1.5mins so dashed in and had her within 12hrs! She had the cord around her neck when she came out so she was blue but absoltulety fine now.

Must go feed!! Again! Will be back with more v. soon!

Well done parker! Must've been scary when she arrived but glad you're all doing well now.

Hope all goes well jobi and mummychicken.

Very exciting having so many arrivals! Smile

Hannah1890 · 29/12/2010 12:25

Congratulations luckykitty, littlehuman and Parker, how exciting!! Hope your all enjoying your new arrivals.

good luck to jobi and mummychicken will be keeping an eye out for announcements. Very jealous of you all!!!

Having trouble with appointments here due to the new year!! was told by dr this morning at hospital that I needed to be seen in the antenatal clinic on the day assessment unit next week, only to then be told by snotty midwife that there wasnt one next week because its new year. clinic is on a wednesday, is it just me or does that seem ridiculous! how can it just shut down because there is a bank holiday on the monday!!! next appt i can get is the 12th which is after my due date even though consultant told me they would induce before my due date.

Was told to go to my own midwife/gp twice a week whilst waiting for appt at hospital but having exactly the same problem there. Sorry for rant feeling very emotional with being told to do so many different things and then being unable to do it. Just dont want to leave it and then something awful to happen. have left a message for midwife tomorrow so hopefully will all be sorted, in the meantime thought id try and rant it out. do feel a bit better...

Hope everyone else is having a good day :)

elk4baby · 29/12/2010 12:41

Congratulations to all the new mummies! :) How exciting!

I still have about 4 weeks to go, all being well. Strangely, it feels like a very-very short time! I'm slowly starting to panic here..
I know it's not supposed to happen second time round, but somehow I'm more scared now than I was with my first. Maybe, it's because I know what to expect Shock Confused.
Please, please tell me giving birth isn't all that bad! Blush

beijingaling · 29/12/2010 13:58

congratulations parker and good luck mummychicken. Hope you're doing ok jobi

I'm (in theory) a week to go tomorrow. Baby has hugely dropped though and lots of painless BH so we'll see how long until it actually is!

sarjose · 29/12/2010 16:01

elk4baby that's exactly what I was feeling, until I watched One born at Christmas, since then I have felt a lot calmer about it,also only being a few days from due date I'm just ready to get the baby out!! This is my third but it's been almost 9 years since my last child.

kiwijesta · 29/12/2010 16:20

Well done parker and good luck to mummichicken and jobi

Hannah I know how you feel being mucked around, want to see my MW for the 38 week next week but she is off so I have to see a doc i've never even met before!

Also just had a phone call from the hosp to confirm the date of my CS (breech baby) to be told that they are full that week?!? I asked what would happen and they said you have to wait for a spot to open up, and I was like, but I'm having a CS, you have to fit me in somewhere! So now it might as well be an emergency one cause I'll have to wait to go into labour! I asked what would happen if I got to due date, cause the consultant said it wasn't to go past, and by this stage I was (still am) quite upset and didn't really understand the answer, something about a CS on the labour ward?? Am going to have to ring back tomorrow when I'm not so upset and tearful so I can understand properly. :(

Jobi1 · 29/12/2010 17:29

Baby Nathan born at 10.42am weighing 9lbs 2ozs. Found it all a bit scary but fine in the end. Nathan is beautiful & big brother Jack seemed to thing he was ok. xxx

Hannah1890 · 29/12/2010 17:38

Congratulations jobi!! loving all the baby news now its all kicking off!

kiwijesta sounds like your having similar problems to me, can see why you would be upset if C section was planned, I feel the same with my induction in that I dont want it to turn into an emergency that was the whole point of planning it before hand! really hope you get some better answers tomorrow. sending my sympathy...

LadyBuzz · 29/12/2010 17:54

jobi congratulations!

kiwijesta sorry to hear the hospital are messing you about. Hope you get some answers tomorrow!

deedee321 · 29/12/2010 18:19

Jobi! So thrilled for you! Bet he is utterly gorgeous, hope you are recovering ok :). Well done!
Big sympathy to Hannah and kiwi, that is ridiculous, no wonder you are upset. Does not sound an acceptable situation at all, you are both fully within your rights to kick up a fuss. Best of luck tomorrow with it.
Oooooh mummychicken, thinking of you, can't wait to hear!!

wintersnuffle · 29/12/2010 20:34

Congrats jobi, that's an impressive weight for a week (or thereabouts?) before due date!

hannah and kiwijesta that sounds awful for both of you Sad. I remember asking at one of my early appointments whether Christmas and all the bank holidays would cause any problems and being told that it should be business as usual. However I think throwing a bit of snow into the mix has made a mess of everything, I had my last appointment cancelled and now not sure when it's going to be caught up - I don't have any major concerns so it's not that much of a problem for me but it must be very scary if you know you need intervention.

mummychicken · 30/12/2010 00:08

had pessary 14 hours ago and NOTHING is happening. also cant sleep in hospital

congrats on newborns Envy

deedee321 · 30/12/2010 00:50

Oh mummychicken, how frustrating!! Might they put you on synotocinon (think that is what it was??) drip? That kick-started me within couple of hours last time. Feeling for you, hope something happens soon. Grrrrr.

beijingaling · 30/12/2010 03:38

Congratulations jobi!

Sorry to hear that jobi. Is there another hospital that can take you? Just stay clam and keep pushing for a c-sec. Can your dr fight on your behalf?

mummychicken very sorry to hear you're still waiting. Fingers crossed it starts soon for you.

Hope everyone else is ok. No news here!

beijingaling · 30/12/2010 08:42

Sorry... I must have been asleep this morning...

That was meant to be Congraulations Jobi and sorry to hear that mummychicken!!

WalkTheDog · 30/12/2010 09:50

congrats jobi and parker

hope you doing ok mummychicken. OH bought me a new DS game for me incase I need something to keep me occupied when the time comes.

still not quite caught up with all the other news!

Hannah1890 · 30/12/2010 17:10

Hope things are going well now mummychicken must be very frustrating.

Kiwi hope you've managed to get some better answers about ur ELCS today, and are feeling better about everything.

Kind of sorted here, Have a Drs appt for nxt week as MW couldnt fit me in, basically if BP still high then Dr will refer me to hospital on tht day so I get seen even if its new years, feeling alot better about everything and slightly less hormonal...

Anyone else having ridiculous hormonal attacks? I cried last night whilst watching cheaper by the dozen 2, scared DH who thought I was in labour only to then have him laugh at me when I managed to sob it was because the lady in the film "got to have her baby." Felt very ridiculous and was able to laugh at myself afterwards for a while until something else set me off...

kiwijesta · 30/12/2010 17:38

Well done Hannah it seems we both got things sorted!

I got a phone call today and now am having CS on the 4th - 5 days away!!Shock The woman who phoned said, I've got a date, its soon and I was quite pleased I was sitting down becuase I went very wobbly, I'd had it in my mind that it would be in 2 weeks, not in 5 days! Hope the rest of you are doing well, now its off to pack my bag!

LadyBuzz · 30/12/2010 18:08

kiwi thats great news, at least you know now!
