jobi so sorry, that's rubbish of Santa, hope it eases soon. I'm nervously inspecting my tummy every day for the sod's law stretch marks which will appear the second I think I've escaped. My mum helpfully told me hers weren't visible until after the birth so they are probably there already.

Thanks for the reassurance about the skin to skin, I think I need to get a bit of persective - it's not as though I have to deal with what you did mamasunshine, it's only going to be a few minutes.

So impressed with you ladies making Xmas cakes and puddings and mincepies! Have sat on my arse and let mum, DH, sister and BIL (to be) do everything Grin.

Hope you all had a lovely Xmas, and don't mind if I stay here with the January mums even though I'll be having mine on Friday.

Parker23 · 26/12/2010 23:37

Hello all! Had a lovely Christmas! Ate waaay too much and forgot that my stomach is now squashed to the size of a walnut! Not a good idea!

Jobi you poor thing! You must be so uncomfortable and it just doesn't seem fair when we've still got labour to come, that we spend the last few weeks in discomfort! Especially if we're not getting enough sleep either! I feel shattered already!

My Co-Codamol was a god send! My ribs had been agony (still are!) so it got me through the day yesterday. Even though they don't take the pain away completely.

Ok, I really need some advice here...Thing is after everyone had gone yesterday and I got into my comfy trackies I suddenly had very intense cramp all down the right side of my torso and across the bottom of my bump. I've been having BH since 22 weeks and they have always been intense. Bordering on painful but more like a bad stitch! They always lasted a lot longer than I had been told BH would last. Usually 15-20 mins, but last night it was really intense! I had very painful cramp and a very tight, hard bump which lasted about 2-3 hrs and didn't seem to let up at all? I think it went once I got to sleep but had it most of today too. In varying degrees.

I wouldn't mind as much if I was sure that it was normal but when I told my MW that I was having strong BH which seemed to last ages she said I had nothing to worry about as long as they came and went and didn't hurt constantly. I think 3hrs is pretty constant and tbh I do hurt all the time at the moment. Can't tell if I've just strained muscles through strong BH or whether it's a continuous cramp? Has anyone else had this? I'd worry a lot less if someone else was experiencing similar pains?

Sorry to go on for so long, I'm sure it's totally normal for 39 weeks and that a lot of you are having the same, but I started to worry that I should be letting my MW know. If it is normal and my contractions feel like this I wouldn't be able to count them anyway! It feels like one long one!Confused

LadyBuzz · 27/12/2010 08:31

macmomo glad you are feeling a bit more positive about it, At the moment it will probably feel like a big thing BUT the second you set eyes on that little bundle you will more then likely not care less what is happening, The MW snuggled DS2 into my arm and I just looked at him while they were stitching me up - magic!

jobi poor you that must be awful, can you see if the doc can give you anything for it?

parker that pain sounds similar to what I had about 27 weeks, they took me in and did tests and came up with nothing! Hasn't happened since so it will hopefully be a one off for you too.

We had a fab christmas, my first dinner was a success and the boys were angels all day Grin

No christmas babies then?

Jobi1 · 27/12/2010 09:30

Hi guys, thanks for the sympathy, and also all the practical advice too Sarita, really kind of you. I'm ok, in quite a bit of pain & discomfort but at least I can mostly relax at the mo. Hopefully they will ease by Weds or disappear when baby appears!

Macmomo I'm really glad you're feeling more positive.

Two more days til my little one is hear. Although I'm a wee bit anxious about ELCS, I am really glad to have the predictability with the way I'm feeling right now. Had to laugh, am waking about every 2 hours at the mo, ready for baby! Although there's a big difference between awkwardly rolling over and actually having to see to a newborn! Too late to be worrying now haha.

Re the pains Parker, I've been getting a lot on and off, until they get to be shortish & regular I'm sure its just practise, stretching, wind etc. I panicked the other day as had terrible pain at top of bump and all tightness and was alone with DS, then realised it wasn't easing so couldn't be labour! Having said that, don't hesitate to go and get checked out if you're concerned.

beijingaling · 27/12/2010 09:58

Jobi1 sorry I don't have any advice with the piles and sorry it feels so rubbish. At least it's all over soon and you won't make it worse by actually giving birth! I'm sure the ElCS will be fine. Don't forget to ignore your DC and rush back to MN to give us the update!

Parker Also no idea for you either. Hope you're feeling a bit better but agree with Jobi1... get checked out if you're worried!

No news my end! I'm just keeping myself busy with stuff around the house, getting odd jobs finished and of course LOTS of pampering!

LadyBuzz · 27/12/2010 11:17

jobi my ELCS was lovely, so relaxed and so much easier then the EM one. Good Luck!

I have finally packed baby's bag and I am halfway through mine!

Parker23 · 27/12/2010 15:35

Hi guys! Had an ok night's sleep last night. Still tossing and turning and huffing and puffing, but I felt much more positive and rested this morning.

Even went to the sales with my mum for a couple of hours! Crazy I know but we left once it got really busy. It helped walking around and the distraction was very welcome. Still having BHs every half hourish I'd say. My mum thinks it's labour starting but I don't think it is. I think it's just practice twinges. I think I'll know when it's the real thing.

Thanks ladybuzz and Jobi1 I think you're right. It was probably just a freak BH that lasted longer than normal. I've had a look around the other forum threads and there are quite a few others who have had very long intense BHs. Like I say, as long as I know it's normal I won't worry.

Jobi1 I may be stating the obvious but have you tried Anusol? I'm not sure if it's ok to use in pg. You'd have to check the label, but I know it works. It might offer some relief? Although sarrita has made some excellent suggestions so you may not need mine.

Macmomo if it's any consolation I have been getting a right bee in my bonnet about the oddest things. I'm not for one minute suggesting that you're concerns are silly!! I think it' completely understandable that you are worrying about skin to skin. But I just want to reassure you that I keep getting worries in my mind and they just won't budge! I get all worked up about things that I wouldn't normally be so upset about. Then I have a moment of clarity and it doesn't seem such a problem. Just try to remember that when you're close to tears and feeling desperate! I'm really glad you're feeling better about it!

Ok I'm off to graze on the fridge! God I love Christmas food! Like on long buffet!Grin

Parker23 · 27/12/2010 16:59

Ok, I'm back again...

Sorry I'm going on a bit lately! As I said, I've had intense BH for a few days. Then today less intense BH throughout the day. Then for the last 2 hours I had the occasional kinda period pain. Nothing bad just about 30 secs and then nothing for 40 mins or so. Only had about 3.

Just went to the loo and there were a few watery drops of blood. No show or excessive amounts of water or anything. Just the blood. Not sure what that means? Am I having a show, are things happening or is it just something that happens in the run up to D day?

Excited but a bit confused?Confused Any advice?

mummychicken · 27/12/2010 19:50

38 weeks + 2
Hi all,
Have been lurking but not posting.

Jobi I had piles after birth of DS. I never felt the stiches from my 3rd degee tear because of them! I sympathise.

Due to Gestational diabetes, I'm going into hospital on 29th to be induced. Only 11 more ijections to go. Getting a bit scary and real now!

38 weeks + 1

Sorry to hear about everyone who is suffering, Jobi that sounds awful sending you my sympathy and hoping it gets a bit better before the arrival of your LO.

Very exciting to hear of everyone who is going to be induced/ have ELCS' this week, think will be the start of all the babies arriving!!

Parker I have been having similar pains to what you described for the past couple of days, have just left it in the hope it either goes away or develops into actual labour. Told myself if had any bleeding or anything that I would phone midwife and just check as has been a worry at the back of my mind. Let us know how you get on.

Feeling alot better now out of hospital, think just being in my own bed and actually being able to sleep has helped alot, and the amazing food from christmas and generally having a lazy time with DH hasn't hurt either.

Hope everyone had a great christmas, good luck to all those expecting their LO's this week!! so exciting :)

sarjose · 27/12/2010 20:39

deedee321 · 27/12/2010 21:59

CONGRATULATIONS littlehuman and luckykitty!!! So thrilled for you both :) :) :). Hope you are ok after your tough experience littlehuman, bet now you have your girl in your arms it will all seem worth it. I remember that totally drained feeling mixed with mad elation!

LadyBuzz · 28/12/2010 07:36

littlehuman congratulations. I'm loving all this lovely baby news Grin

beijingaling · 28/12/2010 10:48

Congratulations Luckykitty and littlehuman! Yay! More babies!

Best of luck Jobi1 for tomorrow.

Parker you have jinxed me! I spent all last night with a solid tummy and a cramp like feeling under the skin. All I could think was "bloody, bloody Parker has given me her pains!" Wink Hope you're feeling better today.

What is everyone doing re new year? OH has just announced he fancies going out and with the lack of smoking ban here that would mean me sat at home like billy no mates. Angry

MacMomo · 28/12/2010 12:46

congratulations littlehuman and luckykitty! Wonderful news for you both, hope it is all going well with the new little bundles.

one more sleep for jobi, too.

parker any more developments? Your BH sound like mine, though mine are generally not painful they seem fairly constant. I thought maybe it was because the baby was breech and the uterus was trying to tell her to turn over!

My sister read something that said that on average people eat every 23 minutes during Xmas - so I have been doing my best to keep up my average. Doesn't seem to matter any more about weight gain!

WalkTheDog · 28/12/2010 17:57

quick visit - congrats littlehuman and luckykitty Grin

all the best for the Csections planned this week

will pop back to read rest of news

FunkyMonkey1983 · 28/12/2010 18:33

Congrats luckykitty and littlehuman

Anyone else overdue? I was due on 27/12 but nothing yet although my braxton hicks do seem to be increasing and I've currently got back pain. Fingers crossed it's not long now!

crumblequeen · 28/12/2010 18:44

Congratulations littlehuman and luckykitty, great news!

Good luck for tomorrow jobi1

kiwijesta · 28/12/2010 19:12

Wow, it seems we have really started going now!
Congrats to lucy kitty and littlehuman

37+1 today and waiting to call the hosp tomorrow to get a date for CS. The baby is def moving, a lot but I can still feel her head under my ribs, so unless she moves...

We had a lovely quiet christmas, got a DVD box set of Chuck, and just slobbed. Hope everyone else had a relaxing time!

Tomorrow I'm off to get my hair cut and coloured, eyebrows shaped, and eyelashes tinted so I'll be ready. This is the total extent of my beauty regime, ever (and I'm sure it'll be the last chance to pamper myself for a while)! Was planning on getting a pedicure but the antenatal lady said with CS's they might want to look at the colour of your nails so that will have to wait til AB (after baby)

Jobi1 · 29/12/2010 08:21

Morning all! Sat on hospital bed in gown waiting to go down in an hour or 2. We're both nervous as hell! Cried a lot yesterday, especially over little boy not being only one soon. Daft eh? Will be back later xx
