Good luck littlehuman!!! Scary but exciting! Soon you'll meet you're baby!! Keep us posted!

I'm the same luckykitty. Watched the Military awards last night on TV and sobbed all the way through...mind you I might have done that when I wasn't pregnant anyway!

Feeling so much better today but still got a splitting headache! God I'd kill for a couple of strong painkillers! Wink

DH was out on his works Christmas do last night and is suffering in bed with a hangover! I hope I don't need him in the next 24 hrs! He'd be bloody useless! We're meant to be going to a friends birthday bash tonight and it was going to be the last night that he drank before D day but I think he over did it last night so he may abstain.

Has anyone else's partners decided to knock the booze on the head in the build up to the birth? I was amazed that mine even suggested it! Not complaining you understand! I'd probably kill him if he was tipsy or hungover for the birth but I was fairly shocked that he came up with the idea without my prompting!Shock

WalkTheDog · 18/12/2010 15:45

oh littlehuman all the best, whatever you are up to as I type

welcome parker. DH didn't go to his chirstmas do, one as it was over 1hr away and he has been one a one drink max for a while now - we are isolated so he has to be fit to drive.

Have a bit of an achey back today, not sure if it is baby or the fact I was standing for a wee while yesterday making soup and mince pies. Was planning on making cake today - not very boozy this year. And no brandy ice cream either Sad

luckykitty · 18/12/2010 16:30

DP is not drinking as such but as town is literally 5 minutes away and neither of us drive so that aspect is not a prob for us, however New Year is a different story as we both love NYE but one of the first things I said when we found out we were having a baby was please dont get drunk at new year!! Its too close to our due date and I think i would actually kill him Grin However he has, as promised, stopped smoking too!

walkthedog I have some Ben and Jerrys in the freezer, i will try to save you some :)

I traumatised myself earlier by watching, against my better judgement I have to add, something on sky about labour and birth and there was this poor 15 year girl who ended up having to had assisted delivery with forceps, it was quite scary - consequently I have spent the afternoon trying to talk bump out with the promise of seeing the snow and meeting our cats - needless to say its not working and she is still burrowing about happily Hmm

Is anyone in the West Midlands by the way?

Oh and speaking of baking stuff I made these by the dozen the other night as a christmas gift for people, they are really easy and really yummy :)

Hope everyones ok x x

littlehuman · 18/12/2010 17:08

hi
update from this morning, got checked by the midwife, she couldnt tell if it was my water broke totally or not,
a other midwife would come tmrw and check again.
if it happens to be water and i dont have contractions the next 48h they ll induce me. i thought dh and i were gonna pass out when she said that realizing we might be parents in the next couple of days aaarrgghhhhh

luckykitty · 18/12/2010 17:12

Jobi1 · 18/12/2010 20:49

luckykitty, yep I am exactly the same, crying every day at something! Hormones eh?

littlehuman how exciting!! Take care and keep us posted.

congrats stenogirl and asianbabe, lovely news, hope you're all doing ok. And welcome parker.

38 weeks today, terribly anxious and emotional, horrendous backache and pains in hips etc, not slept at all well last 2 nights and quite grumpy! Ready for it to be over now. Worried out DS will be though, not sure if we're all prepared enough! And can't remember how to do it!! Anyone with 2 or more, does it come back to you quite quickly?!

Take care in this snow everyone xx

Hannah1890 · 18/12/2010 23:54

Hi ladies, congratulations stenogirl and asianbabe hope all is going well with the new arrivals.
Good luck littlehuman how exciting! Will be keeping an eye out for your news,

Have high blood pressure and am anaemic and pssibly a virus aswell. Still fainting when try to walk anywhere and generally v fed up.
Good news about some new arrivas has cheered me up a lot though. Hope everyones getting along ok

WalkTheDog · 19/12/2010 00:57

getting very close then littlehuman

good wishes hannah, you've had quite a time of it

can't sleep tonight, have been watching strictly final I'd recorded earlier.

jobi hope you having a better night, sure it'll all come flying back to you.

had a very odd half hour this evening when I started crying for no reason, must be the almost there hormones kicking in

LadyBuzz · 19/12/2010 11:07

hannah hope you feel better soon, poor love just what you need at the moment!

Littlehuman best of luck for today.

jobi yes it comes back very quickly from what I remember. I enjoyed DS2 more because I was so much more relaxed.

Damn those hormones, I still blub like a girl at sad TV/stories/papers from being pg with DS 5 years ago Xmas Grin

littlehuman · 19/12/2010 11:27

jobi i understand how you feel about the sleepless nights, i luckly got about 5hours sleep last night(which is amazing for me lol, i t5hink i was totally exhausted from the 2 previous nights with no sleep at all)
so feel a bit more cheery and ready for labor if anything happens...still "dripping " but no sign of contractions though,
its snowing like mad here so even if i was going into labor today i probably have to go to hospital and forget about my homebirth as mw wont be on call, .

hannah omg you story sounds scary , hope you bk on your feet soon! take care.

beebee1978 · 19/12/2010 14:47

hi to u all! i have posted a couple of times on this thread but it was ages ago. im 38 weeks tomorrow and starting to get a little anxious about the birth(1st baby) and i dont finish work till christmas eve Sad
congrats to all the early arrivals! hope all is well littlehuman and ur inlaws go before u start. im from the west midlands luckykitty

Jobi1 · 19/12/2010 17:39

Oh Hannah that sounds rubbish, do they have a plan for your treatment or delivery? Good luck!

littlehuman I hope something happens soon and all goes ok. Glad you got some rest too!

Had another pretty rough night, terrible heartburn, OH snoring and then woke up at about 5.30am to the most enormous contraction, it was horrendous!! Scared the life out of me and then...nothing. Apart from minor cramps in belly and around hips and thighs, nothing else has happened. As ECS not due for another 11 days was a bit of a stress!

Thanks for the comments re the baby thing coming flooding back and easier, I do hope so. Would be good to be a bit more chilled out this time around! Xmas Smile

deedee321 · 19/12/2010 20:36

Thinking of you hannah, that sounds grim x

MacMomo · 20/12/2010 09:48

hannah big hug

littlehuman you sound very in control, I think I would be panicking! Hope it goes well

wintersnuffle · 20/12/2010 13:08

hannah I hope they're looking after you.

littlehuman hope all goes well and the snow isn't too much of a problem.

Not a lot of news here - which is very fortunate as there's loads of snow, MW didn't manage to come for home visit today as they're all in hospital covering for colleagues who couldn't make it. We're not so far from the hospital that I'd be worried but would be disappointed to miss out on homebirth because of the weather. Will just be glad if we all deliver safely though!

littlehuman · 20/12/2010 17:43

38 weeks + 3
oh well i am still here in one piece ...
the mw ( a other one mw ,as i always see a different one or get a different one on the phone)doesnt seem to concern about the amount of water i ve been losing.
so , so far no further action been taken.

ps in laws bk home and no extra snow today so homebirth plan might be bk on track!

Parker23 · 20/12/2010 17:59

Deedee I'm 38 weeks today too! So are you also due on Jan 3rd?

Take care Hannah, I hope you're getting lots of rest!

I was exhausted last night and was almost nodding off in front of the telly so I crawled up to bed and just as my head hit the pillow I was wide awake! Why does that happen? Took me ages to drop off and at one point I woke myself with a big piggy snort! Attractive!Wink

On another note, I only passed my driving test a year ago and have been driving my mother in law's automatic on and off since then but we finally managed to get me car which only arrived a couple of days ago, (despite ordering it back in October.)

Anyway, it's got to be the worst timing ever! Not only am I 38 weeks pregnant, over emotional and have a brain like a bowl or porridge but I have to try to remember how to drive a manual all over again! I was assured it would all come flooding back...it hasn't!

I just cannot get my head around it if for some reason! It's probably best that I don't try before baby arrives now, just to be safe but it's so frustrating having it sat outside whilst I still have so much to do before Christmas! I had a little drive around the neighborhood today and it wasn't too bad but I still ended up crying my eyes out when I got back in the house! Not sure if it was the driving or the hormones? Probably a bit of both but I feel a right numpty!Blush

p.s. Good luck littlehuman! x

Parker23 · 20/12/2010 18:11

By the way...I'm meant to be seeing my MW this week and I've tried to make an appointment with her at the doctors and the local Sure Start but they're all booked up until the new year...I may not need an appointment by then Grin

So I've tried ringing her mobile and when it was off both times I sent her a couple of texts just asking what I should do. I haven't heard back from her at all.

I really do appreciate that they are very busy and do their best to fit everyone in but I'm a bit worried that I won't get to see her? Is this fairly normal at this stage or should I be making more noise about it? It's only 2 weeks till I'm due?Confused

luckykitty · 20/12/2010 19:05

Parker I would be shouting about needing to see her! I have appt on friday when i will be 38+3 but I always see MW at the doctors and they always book it at the last visit if you see what i mean?

On a similar kinda note, would I be totally abnormal to even consider asking the MW to have a look and see if anything interesting is happening up there?! Im sure something is going on....Blush

travispickles · 20/12/2010 20:55

Gosh - it's all go now! I am soooo glad it's holiday time, and won't be back to teaching again until July at the very earliest. In a bad mood tonight, my dss is staying and is being very clingy and needy. He is 10 and currently talking in a baby voice. I know I sound unreasonable but I kep thinking his half sister will be here in a few weeks and I will struggle to cope with a new baby and an older child acting like a baby and trying to monopolise attention. Sorry - am a grumpy sod tonight.
Hope all is well and those of you due imminently - best of luck

beijingaling · 21/12/2010 02:21

littlehuman rest lots, keep counting movement and call the hospital or mw if you are worried about anything. I'm sure it's all fine though!

parker yes I would make much more of a fuss and try to get squeezed in. Can you ask to be called if their is a cancellation?

lucky kitty I dont think it would be abnormal asking. She can only say no!

travispickles Sorry your dss is acting up. I'm dreading our first whole family holiday over easter when my dscs will meet the baby for the first time and discover that everything will be different. Maybe the people on the step parenting forum can help? You don't sound unreasonable at all especially as you want to focus on your new baby!

I almost killed DH last night. He is back now from his trip so I've gone from pretty good undisturbed nights sleep (obviously unless I need to pee again!) to having him in bed. Bless him, he's missed me, wants to cuddle and is trying to look after me by making sure I'm tucked in. The problem is every time he moves he wakes me up, he's too hot so I need the covers off me and I start to sweat when he pulls the covers back over me. I spent the whole night half way between asleep and awake and almost kicked him to the spare room.

Everything is fine baby wise here. I can feel in my bones that we're not too far away from birth now though! It could still be 4 weeks (if I go past due date) but my body feels different to even 2 weeks ago.

luckykitty · 21/12/2010 09:01

Hope everyone is ok today, I am somewhat miffed at spending 8 hours in bed only to actually be asleep for about an hour. I am absolutely knackered and feel like Im going to explode.
Bloody darling cats have stripped the christmas tree during the night and i cant actually reach to pick any of it up, the boiler man wil be here in a minute and Ive forgotten how to string a sentence together and it feels like bump is wearing my ribcage as some kind of fashion accessory.
Trivial I know but telling this to the cats doesnt seem to make me feel any better!!
Definately going back to bed and will start again when my boilers fixed. I didnt think I'd get to the point where I wanted it to all be over but I think Ive reached it today#11Xmas Hmm

luckykitty · 21/12/2010 09:02

Not entirely sure where the #11 came from either. Sums today up so far!! ggggr.

MacMomo · 21/12/2010 14:49

Gutted. There's not enough fluid for ECV. Apparently there's no choice but a c section and it has to be next Friday in order to fit in around bank holidays. I'm really quite upset about it. DH just agrees with everything they say.

A section on New Year's Eve? I asked who would be doing it, they said they don't know. Is this the only form of major surgery where you don't get to know who is doing it before hand? And then the MW, who was trying to be reassuring said that after the baby is taken out, they 'show it to me' and then wash it and wrap it and give it to me soon after. I said I wanted her straight away, she said it depends on whether the theatre is cold! WTF? Am I being unreasonable? I feel totally railroaded. I said how about the following tuesday, they said maybe depends on fluid levels (fair enough), but insisted on booking it for next Friday and I am so sure that next wednesday (monitoring appointment) the attitude will be, "well you're booked in for Friday so let's stick with that..."

Sorry, rant over (well, for now).

kiwijesta hope you have better luck than me!
