Wow stenogirl, congratulations, so happy to hear your fantastic news and what an inspiring story, sounds like it could not have gone any better!
Enjoy your lovy girl x

beijingaling · 16/12/2010 07:52

Congratulations stenogirl Sounds like a very positive birth. Smile

37w today! Dr is off on holiday until the 3rd now so just seeing random drs for the next 2 visits. Last week I measured 35 inches, this week 37. I (or the baby) has also gained 1.5kg. My (british) Dr says with a smile, "This is going to be fun." Hmm

LadyBuzz · 16/12/2010 10:50

stenogirl congratulations to you and welcome baby Hannah.
Lovely name its on our shortlist too!

I have my date now, I am booked in for a section on January 18th - I am counting down the days!

asianbabe · 16/12/2010 12:57

Hi All

Congrats to stenogirl well done!!!

My little bundle of joy also decided to come 4 weeks and 5 days early. Gabriel was born on 08.12.10 weighing 4lbs 8oz he is so cute and tiny.

The labour was over very quickly only a few hours. Had to spend 6 days in hospital as Gabriel was not feeding too well. He is doing much better now and we are back at home.

Absolutely exhausted with the 2 hourly feeds but he is so worth it!!!

deedee321 · 16/12/2010 13:17

Oh congratulations asianbabe, that is fantastic news, great that he is feeding well now and that you are at home. Love his name, really unusual and lovely, it's on our shortlist for middle name! So exciting that babies are arriving!!

WalkTheDog · 16/12/2010 13:40

stenogirl congrats on the birth of Hannah and the birth story was lovely to read.

congrats to asianbabe too. Glad Gabriel is home and those feeds will get longer apart as his tummy gets bigger.

beijingaling I found a site re bigger babies - www.bigbaby.org.uk, I found it gave a good approach

ladybuzz glad you've got a date to work towards now.

Have had to start iron tablets, iron level has been slowly dropping through pg but is now just below what they would like. Since I want to deliver at MLU they want things to be as good as possible.

We were out at a school show last night and a lady asked me when I was due, after I said 3 weeks, she then said "and it's just one?!". I do have a big bump since there is a big baby in there, but it's not that big and there were quite a few people in the audience with bigger non pg bellies than me!

I had a really bad night with period like pains, pretty much sore from 1030pm until 8am. Don't actually remember not being sore, did fall asleep at times but kept waking up sore and having to try and find positions that eased the pain. No contractions though. Still a bit tender. Hoping that there are some painfree breaks between contractions.

beijingaling · 16/12/2010 14:43

asianbabe congratulations! Glad to hear he's doing well.

walk the dog I'm also getting a bit twingy every now and again with period like pains. Sorry you had such a bad nights sleep with it. Thanks for the site info... I'll have a look now.

Just had a bath and found some stretchmarks. I've been bloody religious about rubbing in creams and oils and mum told me that it's not in our family to get them. I thought I had bloody escaped!

Got to say I now can't wait for this to be over. Smile

LadyBuzz · 16/12/2010 16:01

Congratulations asianbabe lovely name.
Well done you!

sarrita · 16/12/2010 16:54

Well done asianbabe! And glad to hear that little Gabriel is out of hospital.

kiwijesta · 16/12/2010 17:55

Hi all,
Firstly congrats to asianbabe and stenogirl!

Hannah was one of the names I quite liked, and I do love Gabriel to (shame ours is a girl!)

macmomo I'm in the same situation, breech baby and low amniotic fluid. I went to see the consulatant two days ago (35 weeks) and she seemed to suggest that if it hasn't moved by itself (she didn't offer to do an ECV either, which is good, cause I didn't want one, just don't think it will work, and from what I've read, it will prob hurt)I'll be having a c-sec at 38 weeks, one earlier than the mid-wife said but hey! Six of one half a dozen of the other really. I've also got another scan and consultant appt next week (36 weeks) to check again. Its quite strange seeing the baby on the scan now, cause shes so much bigger!

One more day of school and I'm on holiday/mat leave. Thank goodness cause my feet are very puffy and my pelvis sore from walking! The parents in my class have been so wonderful and got me some beautiful gifts, I feel very spoilt!!

mamasunshine · 16/12/2010 22:36

Shock OMGoodness...can't believe I've been AWOL and have come back to 2 more babies born Grin Xmas Grin Wow how exciting!!! Huge congratulations to stenogirl and asianbabe!!! What great births by the sounds too Smile Lanisol cream for sore nipples, expensive but VVVVVV much worth it, sell it at most supermarkets so get your dp's to the shops!

I've been ill with flu, then computer had a virus, so only just back on. Will catch up tomorrow hopefully. I'm too shell-shocked with birth anouncements now Confused ....am I really having another baby???!! P.s. 35+3 and still no hospital bag/any baby stuff done here Hmm Must find some energy to give myself a kick up the bum Grin

LadyBuzz · 17/12/2010 08:21

mama nothing done here either although I do have my hospital bag on the bedroom floor now - empty but there Grin

DH is painting babies room on Sunday, I can't wait to get it all put together now SIL has made my cot bedding and it is just gorgeous!

sarrita · 17/12/2010 09:30

Brother-in-law coming this am to put baby's chest of drawers together. No nursery I'm afraid... Xmas Sad At the moment DH and DS are sharing the double in the spare room. Luckily they both are happy and I get our bed all to myself! Xmas Smile Going to Boots today and supermarket to get cheap pants/pjs/extra pads/dried mango and putting together a birthing CD. Pack DS bag too so he can go to great granny's if need be.

Glad to see you're back mamasunshine and in one piece - nearly. My MAC is on its last legs, so keeps shutting down and I think "this is it" - then it switches on again.

Crinkly (savoy) cabbage in your bra works for sore nipples stenogirl. Press them a bit under a rolling pin to release the juices and then in your bra... nice Xmas Smile. Also expressing a bit before latching on can help. The pain does ease off after the first week. But... if you do think they are getting cracked, or mastitis(y) the quicker you get help with latching on and or treatment, the better.

beijingaling · 17/12/2010 13:43

My bag is packed to a degree... pajamas, pads and cheapo knickers are in there but that's it. I still need to put in a wash bag, snacks, clothes for the baby to come home in and a going home outfit for me.

We have a nursery but baby will be in her cot in our bedroom to start.

Can't believe how close we are now ladies!

Parker23 · 17/12/2010 15:31

Hi all!

Can I join in? I know I'm a very late arrival. I've been meaning to get on here for ages!

I'm 37+4 weeks, first baby (not found out the sex,) I'm 34yrs and married.

All going ok, I think. Was horribly horribly sick for the first 3 months and was totally miserable but then it's been pretty much plain sailing since. Can't say I've enjoyed every minute by any means but can't complain!

Now, however I am full of cold and feeling very sorry for myself! Never realised how nasty colds & coughs could be without the drugs! Plus I've had a few weeks of annoying insomnia and discomfort! I'm totally exhausted but when my head hits the pillow I'm wide awake!

Baby seems to have wedged a foot or elbow into my right side under my rib and doesn't seem to want to budge despite all the wriggling!

Think we've got pretty much all we'll need to start with. My ridiculously long list got shorter and shorter as I crossed off things that really weren't necessary. Plumped for a quinny Buzz 3 as we hope to have more than one baby so hopefully it will last a while.

Names have been a nightmare! Got about 5 girls names that I quite like but only one boys name! DH thinks it's a boy, I think it's a girl but neither of us mind really.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself! NOT LONG NOOOOW!Shock

crumblequeen · 17/12/2010 16:38

Welcome parker!

Congratulations asianbabe, love the name Gabriel too! Keep wondering if there will be more babies every time I look at this thread now!

DS absolutely full of cold, 3 bad nights sleep now and I don't have high hopes for tonight, he obv
iously feels terrible though!

Parker23 · 17/12/2010 17:19

Congrats asianbabe! I really love the name Gabriel! It's on our short list for middle names!

Been coughing and snuffling on the sofa all day and going slowly maaad! Thinking about a hot bath and then maybe tackling the hospital bag situation! I really should have packed it by now and DH is out on his works do so got a whole evening to kill. I was meant to go too so I'm missing out on yet another lovely meal due to this stinking cold! Boooo!

By the way does anyone have any tips on how to gently persuade your baby to move from a particularly uncomfortable position? I'm beginning to wonder whether it's got it's foot stuck in between my ribs or something!? It's killing me!

wintersnuffle · 17/12/2010 20:22

Congratulations asianbabe and hello parker Smile

I finally got the moses basket set up today, chest of drawers for baby is meant to be arriving tomorrow but not sure if it'll make it through the snow. I think I sort of feel prepared but haven't entirely got my head round the idea of a whole new person arriving very shortly.

beijingaling · 18/12/2010 02:56

Hello Parker! No tips for moving baby sorry.

wintersnuffle I feel the same as you!

DH is back in Beijing tomorrow night and I can't wait. He's off again on Wednesday to Hong Kong until Friday though but I really dont think the baby is coming early so I guess it's alright.

Just want baby to arrive now!
