Hello all,

I just realised I put the 1000'th message on our last thread (uh oh, I think that's the limit), so in my Blush at not realising I'd reached the limit, thought I'd better start a new thread if anyone finds it.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
40Weeks · 19/09/2010 11:12

I think when Prof does the update she updates everyone's week as well, so now I would be 17+3 for example but as you have copied and pasted it the weeks have stayed the same. Nothing to worry about though! We all know where we are (most of the time) Grin

40Weeks · 19/09/2010 11:13

Congrats on the girl btw, I have 4 weeks to decide of I want to know boy or girl Confused

EauRouge · 19/09/2010 11:17

COngrats and welcome elles and mumby :)

And congrats on expecting a girl BreastMilk, that's wonderful news.

I'm starting to think I'm having a girl. DH thinks I'm just saying that to be awkward because he thinks it's a boy Grin but I dunno, I have this weird feeling. I'm probably wrong though!

Still waiting for a scan date....

Busy day today, I'm leaving DD with DH for the afternoon and helping out on the LLL stand at a local baby show. I made boob cakes for the occasion Grin DD keeps pointing at the tin and saying 'booby cake please mummy'.

Tarlia · 19/09/2010 11:29

All these scan results are really making me question whether I want to know or not Confused. The one thing that is stopping me though, is I don't want everyone knowing what we are expecting, I know OH couldn't keep it a secret. Its not because I want to buy pink or blue, as I like seeing babies in white, yellow etc and wont be buying any 'outfits' myself, so none of that is a problem. But I've never been one to wait with opening presents!

What to do, what to do...

I hope you are all well this morning and have a lovely day planned. I'm doing nothing, which is just fab!

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 19/09/2010 11:35

Tarlia, why don't you ask the sonographer to write down the sex in an envelope for you that way if you change your mind then you won't have missed your chance.

Tarlia · 19/09/2010 11:39

Hmmm, that is a really very good idea, Breastmilks! I might just as if they will do that, thank you :)

Wanderingsheep · 19/09/2010 13:12

That is a good idea about asking the sonographer to do the envelope thing! The only problem is that, if it were me, I'd be itching to open the envelope anyway! Grin

I'm itching to find out what I'm having. I'm kind of hoping for another little girl so that I can use DD's things again. She had some lovely things, some of which she hardly wore but a boy will be a blessing too! Smile I'm getting so impatient for the scan now. If they can't tell I'll be so disappointed!

I'm feeling definite kicks and wriggles now, it's exciting! It's surprised me as I'm only 17 weeks and I only felt DD at 21!

40weeks, I'm glad that your house is almost done. I bet it looks lovely! It must feel like that's one thing to do crossed off the list!

ledkr · 19/09/2010 15:23

ellesbelle my friends are still around but we are all drinkers and love our nights out or boozy bbqs and so i generally feel pretty lonely too.My work colleagues are not my type(bit square)so i only have mn and dh and dd. However i must admit i have felt very homely in this pregancy and love my home and tv oh yeah and my bed.
Hope you are all well today.

ellesbelles79 · 19/09/2010 18:28

Good evening everyone & thanks so much for the lovely welcome/messages! Hope youre all having a fab Sunday Grin

After reading your messages, I got a bit of ooomph this morning & headed to a pregnancy yoga class to try and meet some new folk. It was a great help just getting out of the house & talking to people. I refuse to carry on moping!!

ledkr Im going to try and just be a little bit more like you & embrace the chance to be a bit more homely Wink

Guess i should make the most of the peace & quiet before bubba arrives...

Anyway, is anyone definitely NOT finding out the sex of their little one? It seems like most do...but like Tarlia Im in limbo about it. Would be nice to have a suprise...but then would also be nice to be able to plan the nursery palette! haha

EauRouge · 19/09/2010 18:40

I'm definitely finding out in February when it pops out Grin Didn't find out with DD either, it was lovely when DH told me that our screaming wriggly baby was a little girl :) Our nursery was blue anyway because I wanted to do a fish theme.

ledkr · 19/09/2010 19:35

elles if you knew me you would know how funny it is for me to be homely. I never stop normally ans have only slowed down cos mw had ago at me cos i kept nearly fainting.I work art time but now i have started to chill on the sofa i love it and cant do anything else with my spare time. I also have early spd and it gets worse with walking so i dont go out too much and i ride my bike around my village cos i find it more comfy. I have heard that i have a reputation now as "that pg woman that rides a bike2
am getting fed up now with people commenting on my size. I am not that big but have a very round bump but i am not very buxom so it does show alot. I have started to say "well thats because i am 20 wks pregnant, im allowed to be big arent i?" how rude

ellesbelles79 · 19/09/2010 20:02

Fish theme sounds lovely *EauRouge"....very apt if baby is going to be born a Pisces!! Wink

ledkr dont you worry about your size...everyone shows differently & those that are commenting need to shove off & mind their own business!! Most women cant wait to get their proper bump, so just enjoy the fact that yours is on show & ignore everyone else. xxx

tadjennyp · 19/09/2010 20:32

I only found out because he's my third and final one. I didn't with the first two either. I am also showing quite well now but I put that down to age and number of pregnancy! Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.

moonminmama · 19/09/2010 20:38

Evening all!
Hi to newbies, Welcome! Hope you enjoyed your yoga class mumsby.

ledkr I am quite big too. I love it! The only thing I don't like is how uncomfortable in some of my clothes. Even my maternity trousers are getting too tight!

I've had a busy weekend and am shattered!! have just finished sewing name tags into ds uniform nit is his first day at school tomorrow. I can't believe my baby is starting school!! I will be so glad when the day is over. He is really looking forwardmto it because hensants to 'wear a shirt like daddy' Smile

40Weeks · 19/09/2010 20:39

Oooh I am in limbo too! Didnt find out with first 2 so thought I fancied a change but once I know, I cant 'unknow' so might opt for the envelope thingy too if they will do that - although the same girl did my last two 20wk scans and she was a right miserable cow and said she wouldnt tell me even if I wanted to know! Cowface.

40Weeks · 19/09/2010 20:40

Oh how cute moomin, hope it goes well

Wanderingsheep · 19/09/2010 20:51

Aww, hope your DS enjoys his first day at school Moonminmama!

Went shopping to buy some maternity clothes today. Couldn't find anything so came away empty handed. My hormones must have kicked in because I came away from the shops crying Blush! DH told me that I was being silly and he got a bit of a mouthful about how it's alright for him, all his clothes fit, it doesn't take him ages every morning to find something that fits blah blah blah Blush poor bloke!

wigglesrock · 19/09/2010 21:04

Evenin' all, hope everyone had a great weekend, have 20 week scan next week. As mentioned before I would love to find out sex but hospital has arsey "don't tell" policy. Already have 2dds and would love another one, but probably because husband and I are at loggerheads (slight exaggeration) over boys names!!.

Am trying to get organised re mat leave etc at the minute, I took on new job just as I found out I was pregnant so won't be getting SMP but am trying to get Maternity Allowance organised Confused

moonminmama · 19/09/2010 21:07

I got some nice stuff in mothercare. When I was pg with ds the stuff in there was all very 'mumsy' but this time they had some really nice stuff (IMO anyway)

As for the crying thing... I picked ds up from nursery on Thursday (his last day) he's been there since he was 5 months old. It hadn't bothered at all that he was leaving, but as soon as I walked into the building, I burst out crying !! The staff were so lovely, I was so embarrassed!

debka · 19/09/2010 21:19

Welcome to newbies, there's plenty of chat on here! Just took me about 1/2 hr to catch up and I only missed 2 days!

SBF we are due on the same day too! DD was born 23 March, so she is actually not quite 18mo. She was 2 weeks overdue though. Love love love BLW, don't know why anyone does anything else. DD now eats with a spoon and fork and always eats with us. Tonight we had tacos and salad, so did she !

She slept in her own room from coming home from hospital..... Couldn't stand all the breathing- MW said newborns were like a hedgehog in a paper bag, she was right.

Don't look pg but have Raised BMI (as my dear MW puts it), but this week really starting to feel it. Baby moving a lot and belly starting to feel heavy. Anyone else feel the same?

Wandering know the feeling about crying and shopping trips- easier to order online I think.

smallblackflowers · 19/09/2010 21:23

Welcome newbies and congratulations!

moonminmama and wanderingsheep can empathise with the random crying, I'm at it all the time...this week it was being told that one of my colleagues (that I don't know very well) wasn't in that day as her gran had taken ill.

Think that my baby boy is a bit of a live wire, had a bath this evening and actually saw my belly moving with his kicks...and only 20 weeks today, I'm sure I was just feeling delicate flutters at this point with DD.

Lulabel27 · 20/09/2010 09:35

Hi All
Congratulations breastmilk on the girl!
Welcome to elles and mumbybumby! The more the merrier!

I know what you mean about struggling in RL to meet other people in same situation etc. I went to pregnancy yoga at work gym but no-one really spoke. I'm going to google a pregnancy yoga in Richmond to see if there's a local one to meet people. Only moved here in Feb so don't know anyone.

Haha re: random crying! I do it all the time - the news, adverts etc.

Is it me or are all maternity clothes quite horrendous? In Gap you can wear black, grey or white. Mothercare was more expensive than i thought it would be and there's a maternity shop in town called "Crave" which is reallllly mumsy. I went to John Lewis and couldn't believe they don't even sell maternity clothes! Thoroughly dissapointing shopping trip! On the plus side, I didn't spend anything which is probably a good thing!

Hope everyone has a good monday and good luck for scans this week Smile

PS: I have a voucher for 30% off gap. If anyone wants it i'll happily email it to you, just send me your address

EauRouge · 20/09/2010 09:43

Debenhams had some really nice stuff when I was expecting DD, it's called Red Herring- www.debenhams.com/women/red-herring-maternity (the link's not working at the mo)

Just having my 20 millionth cup of vanilla rooibos of the day Blush I've finally found a decaf tea that I like!

angels1 · 20/09/2010 09:44

wanderingsheep I understand your cries of having no clothes - my two pairs of trousers that fit were in the wash yesterday so had to wear a skirt and top combo with my one pair of matrnity tights - we went for a small walk in a wood and I got stung multiple times on the legs by stingers Sad. I'm quickly feeling fed up with my lack of wardrobe choice.

Love the idea of the booby cakes whoever made those (I'm so sorry, I forget). I daren't tell DH as he will try and get me to make some for him Wink.

Good luck to moominmama little DS today at school Grin

welcome to newbies :)

I am greatly excited as this weekend I actually quite fancied salad and other relatively normal foods. Please may this continue and be the start of being able to eat like a normal person again. I also have got a taste for chocolate back in a big way though and I'm not sure if this is a good thing.... Hmm.
