Purplefan am sorry to hear your news I found a support website for turners online which you may have already come across www.tss.org.uk/

I have been feeling nauseous everyday 13+1 today.
Also got my buggy today woman I bought it off threw in a mamas and papas playmat too worth £65 so chuffed with that Smile Feel a bit weird for buying buggy so early but as I said earlier price was too good to let it go by.

pettyprudence · 16/09/2010 20:53

Another newbie here! I'm due 30th March and this is my first bambino! I had my first scan on 8th Sept and it was ace! The next one seems sooooo far away (12th Nov). The scan made me forgive my baby all the sickness and nausea he/she is causing me :)

sam26oscar · 16/09/2010 21:16

purplefan sorry to hear your news, thinking about you xx

Well, i am off to Spain in the morning for a week of sun Grin, can't wait!! Saw mw (again) today, lucky in my town they have a drop in midwife clinic! Told her was going away and she just did b.p and heartbeat for reassurance, also told me to take notes which i hadn't even thought about!!

Looking forward to letting my gut hang out in a bikini, only holiday i have had where i can wear one and blame a pregnancy on the fatness!!!!

Hope everyone feels better over next week or so and good luck to those having scans . xx

EvianBaby · 16/09/2010 21:30

Hi all

Just wanted to pop by briefly to welcome the new ladies Smile.

Also purplefan So sorry to hear about your results, I hope that the consultant is able to help you tomorrow and put things into a bit of perspective for you. I am not going to say I know exactly how you are feeling however my son was diagnosed with a condition (not life threatening but affecting the quality of his life on a daily basis) in March, when he was 18 months old. At first I couldn't see a way forward, I was so upset for him. Gradually as the months have passed I have accepted the situation and now am focusing my energy on the best ways to help him. I am not, for one minute, pretending my situation is the same as yours but just wanted to let you know that I can understand in some way what it's like to get upsetting news. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. Take care.

Hope everyone is ok, it's nearly the weekend!

pushmepullyou · 16/09/2010 21:34

purplefan - am thinking of you. There is definitely a lady on mumsnet who has a DD with Turner syndrome. I can't remember who it is but I think I have seen her post on the SN board so it might be worth posting on there for information.

have a fab holiday sam. I am very Envy.

Welcome to all the newbies Smile.

My sickness has been a bit better the last couple of days, which is a big relief. Still comes and goes a bit but defnitely a big improvement on last week.

NowPanicAndFreakOut · 16/09/2010 22:49

Purplefan all thoughts and prayers are with you. Have to admit ignorance as I'd never heard of Turner's but having looked it up I am even more confused. I hope you get all the information and support you need.

Jeffily so happy for you - must be a great relief. "What to Expect" has also told me I'm expecting an avocado - which is a lot more helpful than the strange type of orange I'd never heard of that it said baby was last week Wink

Is it just me or is your size all over the place? One day my belly seems pretty normal, another it seems huge. Have to admit I find it a bit scary when it appears to shrink - and have only posted about it as I've just had a huge dinner and am now back to rock hard bowling ball Smile

jammiedodger2 · 16/09/2010 23:02

Hi please can someone add me,(I am technophobe) I am due with baby no3 due 22/3/11 dd9 ds6.
I was waiting until I had scan this week and relieved that everything was ok, have been 'spotting' for a week but they can't find any worrying causes.
Had low point this evening when I was dry heaving and peed myself, pregnancy is SO glamourous!

1Catherine1 · 17/09/2010 07:45

Purplefan good luck today, I hope you get all the information you need.

jammiedodger2 So so glamorous. I keep telling my OH the little unpleasant things I have to put up with and his face is really quite amusing when I do. Lets just say he wishes I'd keep it to myself.

looblee · 17/09/2010 10:04

Hi another one for your list.

17/3 looblee pg #1

looking forward to my 20week scan now why do they take so long to come around...?

Clothes I can wear are slowly diminishing and I am down to a few items - Time to go shopping soon I think.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 17/09/2010 10:15

Morning all.

Purplefan - thinking of you. As said below, I hope you get all the relevant info to move forward.

Clucky31 · 17/09/2010 10:31

Morning all,

My thoughts are with you Purplefan - hope that you can stay strong.

Great to hear positive news from Chickie and Jeffily after such worrying times.

Welcome to gem, lozario, pettyprudence, jammiedodger and looblee - congratulations on your pregnancies :)

I too have been enjoying the glamourous side of pregnancy this morning - my nose feels permanently stuffy and am having horrible phlegm-based issues (sorry if tmi). Dry heaved so much this morning that I threw up my breakfast. DH also says I'm snoring quite a bit. Anyone else having nasal issues?!

xx

Medee · 17/09/2010 10:39

Yes, quite sniffy and snotty, and not sure if it is the usual change of season thing, or pregnancy related.

sittinghippo · 17/09/2010 10:41

Eek me me me Clucky! The most annoying being that I am still not sleeping through the night as I still have to get up at around 3am for a wee, and for some reason, the standing up and moving about triggers something in my nose and sets me off on an horrendous sneezing fit. Just what I need in the middle of the night... I then lay in bed for a further hour or so trying to get the snot under control and by morning my DH cant find me under the mountain of bog roll!! Every goddam night.

sittinghippo · 17/09/2010 10:42

Oh, and if I'm unlucky enough to have the sneezing fit before I get to the bathroom for a wee then god help me. Gotta concentrate on those pelvic floor exercises methinks.

Clucky31 · 17/09/2010 11:30

sittinghippo - hope you manage to avoid further sneezing/weeing type situations! I've been trying to do my pelvic floor exercises. I work in Whitehall so was at first trying to do them everytime I heard big ben chime...until i remembered that it chimes every 15mins...probably slight overkill.

Mendee - have heard that stuffy nose can be a pg side effect although probably not helped by the fact that it's getting a lot colder.

am988 · 17/09/2010 12:31

Hello all,

And special welcome to all new ladies too!
Nausea is better as is heartburn but yes,
also getting stuffy nose - which at night is more annoying.

I'm also feeling extremely thirsty all the time, including at night! Or could it be a cold coming? (hope not) Anyone else?

As to bump - my stomach seems bigger - which looks as though I've overindulged in cakes (which in reality I haven't). I really hate having a big stomach - especially when i'm not eating more than usual!

Am 15wks tomorrow - I don't agree time is going fast - I think it is very slow actually..

Have good fridays and weekends all!
xx A

Oceanbreeze · 17/09/2010 13:04

Hi all, wow this thread moves way too fast for me to keep up!

Sorry to hear your news Purplefan, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Welcome to all the newcomers Smile

Time going slow for me too, especially as they put my due date back at my scan - but no one seemed to inform my tum, which is enormous, despite the fact that I don't think I've had too many cream cakes Wink

I've also got the stuffy nose thing - had it for weeks, so seems normal now. My sneezing fits, once comic, are now just annoying. Really loud, mostly in multiples (had 7 in a row earlier), and often lead to rushing to the loo. Anyway, its called Pregnancy Rhinitis if anyone wants to look it up.

Not done any baby shopping yet, although done loads of window shopping, but possibly going to a baby show this weekend - am a bit scared I'll buy everything in sight Grin

gem3225 · 17/09/2010 14:37

hi everyone, hows things today?

im 15 weeks and 2 days. Met this lady at a carboot last sunday selling the motherease nappies. Got me thinking and now i cant think of anything else. Went round today and spent £21.00 on 15 nappies, 200 liners, outer cover things and a nappy bucket!! bargin i thought. They look really white and so cute.So im well on the way.

My bump seems to be getting more established in the last 2 days but by the morning it seems bit flat again, although my boobs are making up for it, think i need another fitting soon.

Thinking of you Purplefan, thoughts are with you.

take care all, happy baby shopping x

mixedmamameansbusiness · 17/09/2010 16:55

Gem - well done on the nappy purchase. I am way too lazy/disorganised etc for that and instead will spend copious amounts of money endorsing Pampers. Must start looking out for deals.

I have my eye on the extortionately expensive bugaboo bee pushchair... currently trying to convince DH that it is money well spent - am starting now as it may take the rest of the pregnancy to convince him.

LovelyKatie · 17/09/2010 17:22

Hi everybody

I am due 10th March

Although I feel uneasy, just come back from a holiday in Orlando yesterday and I was very sick and very dizzy a lot. I had constant headaches etc and I generally feel really tired.

I had to book my midwife app today for my 16 week heartbeat but the next availability was 11th october!!!

I really dont know how i feel about this as I want to make sure all is ok but dont know how to go about it. Its my first child.

gem3225 · 17/09/2010 17:39

hi Katie
im sure everything is fine, its my first too, but they dont give us 16 week app just 18 weeks, im due 9 march and my 18 weeker is on the 7th oct. I guess you could just see if your doctors has a drop in centre that way you could get them to check you over.

i had a few headached and a nasty dizzy spell, now i just get the odd hot flush!!.

*Mixedmamameansbusiness**i so hear you with the bugaboo, they are soo lovely. My sisters boss is rather loaded and has a sister who has various homes across the glode and a bugaboo in each!! so hes checking with her and maybe, just maybe he may give it to me, almost new.My mum is hoping this will happen as she has said she will buy us the pram if not!!

im keeping my fingers crossed.

x

EvianBaby · 17/09/2010 18:58

mixedmama and gem - I have a Bugaboo for DS and I absolutely LOVE it! Everyone else I know with DC's the same age have replaced/upgraded the pushchairs they originally bought but mine is very much still in use! I have the Chameleon but in hindsight might have bought the Bee. I am hoping that between now and March they bring out a conversion kit to change mine into a double pushchair but think now that's unlikely. Can't find any other double pushchair that compares at the moment! Go on, treat yourselves!...

Toota · 17/09/2010 19:19

Hello

Newbie on the thread...I'm 15 weeks (due on 7 March).

Currently - nausea has mostly passed but feel really tired and have had lots of headaches - I get migraines anyhow so have had a few of those too. Seems I'm not alone on headache stakes. Thought I'd mention it to midwife next week...?

I've had the sneezing thing too - lots of sneezes in quick succession throughout the day (often at work).

Anyone having trouble sleeping? I get off to sleep easily enough but wake in the middle of the night and can be awake for a couple of hours...finally reading gets me back off.

Good to join you all here!

jeffily · 17/09/2010 19:42

Purple I hope that you are doing ok, and that the consultant gave you lots of useful information today. I did a bit of research into Turner's, and I found it all quite confusing. Thinking of you lots and hoping that you are managing to find your way through this difficult time alright. I am so sorry that you are going through this. You might find some support over on the ante- natal tests and choices board.

castlegirl · 17/09/2010 21:09

I'm new on here, 1st baby due 19th March 2011. Scan 2 weeks ago was good, but now having light bleeding. I've been told there's little to worry about as it's something to do with the placenta detaching / attaching.
Does anyone else have experience of this?
