Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
KPidgeon · 02/09/2010 12:06

Mama- is it not that you were more than 1-2 weeks on the 12 July? Like more like 3 weeks?

Or maybe it's 1-2 weeks pregnant as in since cconception and then they've added on the extra weeks to make it since your last the count of 9 weeks plus 4/5 days since your last period?

That is a bit confusing but nothing to worry about I'm sure.

Hope it all becomes clear at your next scan.

nellyf · 02/09/2010 15:43

Hello! I'm a newbie! Due on 27 March pg#2 - haven't posted until now as 2 previous miscarriages and have been on an emotional roller coaster! Dating scan on 10 September - v nervous/v excited- mostly nervous!

bevl81 · 02/09/2010 16:54

Hello all, I haven't checked in for a while but have been keeping a sneaky eye on you.

Sorry to hear about SFB and Flowers sad news.

I was on here as Bevyboo but have now changed to Bevl81 but my due date etc remains the same.

I had my scan last Friday, and all looked well.
I think...
My Downs test came in as 1/190. Is that low risk in your opinion? Should I even be letting it worry me slightly?

Otherwise all is well, the nausea has gone off for the most part, and now I am a quivering emotional wreck and the smallest thing will set me off!

Am 13+2 now and still squeezing into 'normal' clothes but cant wait to shed them about tea time in favour of nighty and dressing gown and slob out!
Really excited about moving into second trimester and getting proper bump, and especially now the whole world and his wife have been told I am still glowing from all the congratulations lol!

chickiewoo · 02/09/2010 20:44

Thanks to Pushmepullyou for adding me to the list! Welcome to nellyf :) Had my dating scan/downs screening blood test appointment through today for 20 September - at which point I will be 13 weeks. After this I will then feel confident on sharing our news - I'm struggling to keep our secret! Going to tell our DS (age 4) and then let him deliver the news to family and friends. Suffering with nausea most days up until lunchtime'ish - ready salted hula hoops seem to help!?! Also tend to bloat in the evenings x

pushmepullyou · 02/09/2010 21:02

bev my consultant told me that anything less than 1:150 is considered low risk, so yes, 1:190 is definitely low risk Smile

sam26oscar · 02/09/2010 21:56

Hi everyone, have been to Suffolk for a week to visit friends, and also where DS1 was born!! Welcome to all the newbies and sorry to hear such sad news sfb and flowers Sad
hope everyone is feeling better although having read posts some are feeling worse Sad and good luck to those having scans this week Smile
I was feeling fab whilst away even mananged to regain my appetite Grin but then yesterday and today have felt queasy again Confused really hope its not going to go and then come back again throughout was starting to dream about food!! Have given in and bought maternity leggings but "normal" tops still, my sil had her 4th boy last night and want to go and see her obviously but need to wear something v baggy to cover bump as don't want to steal her thunder!
Well, i have a very busy weekend ahead,DS back to school in the morning, DH 250 miles away for next 8 weeks and DS 6th birthday party on Sun, all by myself.....God help me!!

Larty74 · 03/09/2010 09:56

Morning everyone! nervous/excited for my scan tomorrow. feels like it's never going to get here.

HeadingHome · 03/09/2010 10:54

Had my 12 week scan yesterday - so far so good.

Dated me for 13th March.

Still doesn't quite feel real yet!

Larty74 · 03/09/2010 11:03

Good news headinghome!

Zafnoodles · 03/09/2010 11:54

Hi folks

can I join you? I'm due 14 March (my birthday!) and am nervously waiting my first scan this Tues.

It's really reassuring to know that lots of you are also really tired. I've had ME and was terrified that it was coming back before I discovered I was pregnant. I was a bit slow on the uptake there - only realised 2 weeks ago.

me23 · 03/09/2010 15:18

welcome to the thread zafnoodles and heading home have added you both to the list. I have my scan on monday wish I could sleep and wake up on monday! Dp has gone to visit his mum in somerset this weekend, Luckily I have my cousin staying over to help with dd as I'm still too exhausted, I had occupational health yesterday at work and the Dr said I'm not fit to work at the moment because of my extreme fatigue. Hoping I feel better soon but this have been going on for months before I got pregnant.

nancydrewrocked · 03/09/2010 17:06

Hi all - After a fairly worrying first trimester I have decided to bite the bullet and join this thread Smile

I am 12+1 and just got the all clear this morning following a CVS.

I have DD 5 DS1 is 4 and DS2 was stillborn last year.

sam26oscar · 03/09/2010 18:09

nancydrewrocked welcome, sorry for your loss last year how devastating for you, however, congratulations on this pg Smile,
welcome zafnoodles and congrats on your scan headinghome, we really are heading into the second trimester nowGrin. Its just starting to become real now and have even been browsing online catolouges for baby stuff, just sneakily looking!!
Having said that still haven't told parents yet (am 14+1) and i see them quite often as they live close by!! Am planning to do so this weekend ! Am having a hungry day which is lovely!! Am trying to eat sensibily and not over indulge!! Fruit and chocolate (which i don't normally eat crisps are my downfall!!) are popular at the moment WinkWell will look in over weekend but it is DS party ythis weekend so will be busy and knackered!! Hope you all have good weekend Smile

niamh29 · 03/09/2010 20:02

So this morning I went to the bank link and couldn't remember my pin and after 3 go's I was told to ring the branch (btw: I never forget stuff normally) when I got back to the car I cried hysterically and had to go home instead of work to calm myself down, even after making myself respectable again I was still on the verge of tears for hours, it's like I have an on switch for tears but no off switch........,isn't pregnancy fun!!!

pushmepullyou · 03/09/2010 20:47

hello nancydrew (love your name Smile) and zafnoodles.

Got my blood results back today which, combined with the nuchal makes me low risk for Downs, which is a relief Smile.

On holiday next week (Yay!), but will have to do loads of work (Boo!), at least I'll be doing it away from the office though. Will have to tell my team when I get back as I'm starting to look distinctly rounded!

Sympathies to all of you waiting for scans, I feel so much better now mine is out of the way, not very long now for most people though.

Campervanfan · 03/09/2010 22:33

Hi all,

I'm so sorry to hear about all the bad news. My colleague at work, a really nice lady, admitted to me about 10 days ago that she was PG, and it turned out she was due within a few days of me. She had a M/C earlier in the year. I was really excited. She had her 12 week scan today and she was told that she is PG but there is no baby. She was having MS and everything. I'm totally gutted for her and I'm now really worried about my scan on Tuesday.

I still have MS but just nausea. I had to put on my maternity jeans from my previous PG for first time today. Honestly, I'm HUGE! Blush

Muser · 04/09/2010 09:14

Hello everyone, welcome to all the newbies.

Campervanfan that's very sad about your colleague. Try not to worry about your scan, remember the odds are on your side that everything will be ok. Miscarriage is more common than we think, but it's still more likely for each of us that we'll have a successful pregnancy. I hope it all goes well on Tuesday.

I am 15 weeks tomorrow and still throwing up. I would like my second trimester bloom to happen now please.

Hi everyone
Sorry not to mention any names, but hi to all the new ones and congratulation!
Am really sad to hear the sad stories of peoples losses.

I thought when I got to the second trimester I would ease off on the worrying, but at 14+1 I am so paranoid that things are not right. Its kind of getting silly as i am reading into everything. There was a dead mouse on our doorstep the other day and I was like 'it's a sign' though ridiculed (thankfully) by DP. Also I keep randomly singing songs and when I stop to listen to the words I'm signing, its awful stuff like east17 and the line 'baby if you've got to go away....' and that reggae song 'baby come back'!!

I have 3 weeks till my next MW appointment, but I was planning to tell work in the mean time, but now I'm getting so freaked out I'm thinking I should wait till I can hear the heart beat again.

I think I'm cracking up a bit! Is anyone else like this? Does anyone have a Dopplar? I've read good an bad things about them.

Sorry for the silly long message!

niamh29 · 04/09/2010 10:45

Campervanfan: what happened to your colleague is my worst nightmare, that's what happened to my friend too a few weeks ago, I just can't understand how you can be having symptoms but there's no baby, symptoms are supposed to reassure you!!!

Bring on my scan on Thursday, I just want to know everything is ok before I go crazy!!!

Zatzi · 04/09/2010 11:15

bluebeach, I'm exactly the same! 14 weeks today and forever analysing if I still "feel" pregnant - which as my only symptom was sore boobs and that eased a couple of weeks ago (before scan) is ridiculous. My SIL - who's got three and had one mc - told me the other day that most women worry the whole way through but especially before you can feel kicking. We just don't talk about our fears. Am v grateful to know I'm not alone!

Am thinking of getting a Doppler to ease my worries - but have read that they can make concerns worse - anyone got any views / experience?

Muser · 04/09/2010 11:43

The problem with dopplers is it can be very hard to find the heartbeat. You might find it easily one day, and not the next. If that happens, are you liable to panic? I know I probably would, so I wouldn't do it.

The chances of anything going wrong after a good 12 week scan are very, very tiny. We probably read more about them being on MN, as people come here for help. So I think it can all get very scary.

I'm not sure what the answer is, except whenever you start worrying think about something else instead.

Hello everyone. I'm SO pleased that I can no longer say if but when! Scan went well and everthing appeared to be normal according to the Dr, nuchal measurments, etc. Just waiting for the blood results. AMAZING! got pics, may put up later. Grin

Larty74 · 04/09/2010 16:22

p.s. my dates haven't changed so no edits to the list!

Purplefan · 04/09/2010 16:54

Hi all,

Larty that is great news!! I am now counting down the days to my scan rather than weeks!! It is on Thursday morning, can't wait, although a bit nervous!!

pushmepullyou · 04/09/2010 21:46

Hi all, pleased to hear your good news Larty

I have a doppler from my last pg and I do find it very reassuring. I've never had much of a problem finding the heartbeat and found it for the first time at about 9 weeks this time, which surprised me as I really wasn't expecting it!

I think it's true that most women worry all the way through, although I am not as worried this time as last time, I think because a) I have more confidence in my body to carry a baby and b) I feel that whatever will happen will happen and I already have the most beautiful DD in the world!
